Accessing row/col in multiple reports

I have a form with ten editable report regions on it. I want the user to be able to update all ten source tables with one button push, so I assume that I have to write a PLSQL procedure to do that. How to I refer to the row/column items in the different reports in PLSQL?

First of all, did you use the APEX tabular form wizard to create the ten updateable reports ? If so, it may be not be possible to process the forms correctly.
As you may have gathered from the article that I referred you to, tabular form element values are available in the apex_application.g_fxx arrays, where xx ranges from 01 through 50. At most 50 tabular form elements are allowed. So, the tabular form elements from the ten reports must then correspond one of the 50 g_xx arrays. This is possible to do only if you buid your tabular forms using the apex_item API. The APEX wizard simply starts numbering the tabular form elements starting with 1 for each of the reports on your page.

Can we use the built-in Row fetch for Multiple reports in a page?

I need to create a page with multiple report regions. Each of it is based on a table. Those tables are different. I somewhat remembered that we can NOT use the built in automatic row fetch process if there are multiple report regions, neither the built in DML process. You have to make your own fetch and insert/update/delete process if you intend to.
Also if I write my own row fetch and update processes, do I have to consider lock mechnism? or just simply write select and insert/update?
Any input is appreciated.

I think I found the answer. Would Scott or other gurus take a look at the thread and confirm it, in case the limitation is not in 2.0?

What I am concered about is that the locking mechanism. If I have to write my own process to fetch and insert/update, other than the regular select and insert/update statements, do I have to put commit by myself, or htmldb can handle it automatically? Is there an example for this?

How do you create a macro for Acrobat Convert Multiple Reports action in Microsoft Access

I have several reports in microsoft access and I've been able to combine them into a single PDF file using the Acrobat Convert Multiple Reports feature. Is there a way to create a macro for this action? I would like to create a time event for this procedure.

Selecting multiple rows in BW Web reports

Hello Everyone,
I am working on the BW web report where we want to give user interaction screen through BSP.
We achived this for a single row in BW report where when user clicks on some link or button it opens up the BSP screen with the selected row value in BW report.
Now we want to give multiple rows option where user can select multiple rows in BW report and the corresponding values should be available in BSP by clicking of some button in BW.

Interactive Report: how to get value of given row/col cell in selected row

Hi -- I have an interactive report. Instead of the default behavior of the link going to a single row view, I want it to
go to a form for editing the row. This means I have to be able to populate the form w/ the correct row's information...
so need to get the value(s) for the PK column(s) in the selected row of the interactive report, so I can select the row
from the database.
How can I do this? I see in the report attributes, Link Column section, I can set Rows Uniquely Identified by, and a Unique
Column (though there could be more than one in a PK). I imagine I'd want to use the rowid, but I'm not sure how the
rowid of the selected IR row can be referenced. And at that point, I'm not sure how to get the IR column value for
that row. (Say I'm on the 8th row and I need the first column... How is the column referenced? By a number, it's name,
its heading?)
Or maybe I'm not on the right track at all...
Ideas?

What I´m trying to do is: defining a button such as when you click it a pl-sql procedure is called, which needs as an input parameter the id of the row selected in my form. what I need first, then, is to get the id of the selected row. how did you get it?

How to access jtable cells in multiple tabs?

Hi,
in my program when I push a button 3 tabs are created. And all these tabs have a table in it. What I want to do is that When I push other button I want to access all these tables and cells. and get the cell values. How can I get the value of one cell in the jtable when I have multiple tabs?

Hyperion Smart Cut Session Issue streaming multiple reports at a time using

This is a lengthly post with details, Please review with Patience:
We are trying to integrate Workspace based web Analysis reports within our intranet portal, thru portlets (made from individual workspace smartcut link), so that users can customize their page as needed, Once they login thru intranet, Cookie is set and passed to succeeding smart cut links via secured http headers. This part is fine, but mainly running into issue with streaming several multiple web-analysis reports at a time,+ we are using Iframe to display and stream multiple individual reports on to one page, but unfortunately all Iframes are sharing one session rather than creating individual session, mostly because of limitation of current web analysis system architecture and IE browser behavior with sessions .
Which Hyperion reporting tool does allow to stream multiple reports at a time? ideally we want to create Iframe of each workspace report so that users can customize and pick portlets as needed. To stream multiple reports at a time.
Problem Description: Hypeiron Web Analsysis, Smart cut reports incorrectly rendering images and intermixing dash boards on POV changes upon multiple reports being diplayed at one time thru Iframe's, issue seem to mostly relate to Hyperion using single session rather to multiple session when displaying several web reports at a time.
Steps Needed To Reproduce:
User logs into workspace.
user click on expolore and able to view the report without any issues.
When right on any of the report and select properties.
Select the SmartCut url and paste it in the Internet explorer.
The webanalysis report opens without any issues.
Similarly user copies the smartcut url for a different report and paste the link on a different tab or new window of same browser.
The report on the first tab gets over written of the report of the second tab of the browser.
The issue happens when two different reports and opened on a browser with multiple tabs. The reports get over written.
Oracle development answer:
In the described scenario opening new browser window does not spawn a separate independent browser session. A new browser window is supplied with URL pointing to the same domain, so all browser cookies including the "ORA_WA_SID" (WA session cookie) are shared between the windows. But multiple application instances cannot run in the same browser session simultaneously because of session sharing. This is not actually a defect, but rather a limitation of current system architecture and browser behavior. And there is no way to fix it programmatically on the product side.

Your current arrangement puts most of the session handling and persistence on the client. This forces you to accept whatever the client decides to persist and propogate between browser elements (in this case iframes).
My approach would be to:
Consider coding your portlets to manage the sessions. Manage using a somewhat stateless strategy so that each request to the server requires a login and connect, retrieve, and disconnect. Each Iframe should access a different portlet url (or provide a different query) based on its content.
This way, in theory, you can invalidate the sessions and related cookies and update the various report elements independently.
Is smartview out of the question here?

How to schedule webi report in bulk (multiple report in one request)

I am little bit new to BOXI. I have little bit work experience in Crystal X on scheduling which was used in one of our enterprise java application. We are exploring options in BOXI.
Currently i am scheduling a report with following api
infoStore.schedule (webiDocs);
This will schedule one report instance.
My question is
Is there any way to schedule multiple instances of a same report in one request.
Is there any way to schedule multiple instances of a different report in one request.
If above things are possible please provide the apis for the same.

Scheduling multiple Webi reports in one command:
infoStore.schedule takes 1 arhgument of type IInfoObjects which is a collection of InfoObject. IInfoObjects is retrieved by the query. So if you to retrieve all the Webi Docs you want to schedule , then with infoStore.schedule(WebiDocs), it will schedule them all in 1 shot. Scheduling Info properties for each Webi Docs should also be set. Please refer to the samples on scheduling at link below.

Scheduling one Webi Doc multiple times in one command:
I donu2019t think it can be done in one command. Do you want to schedule the object multiple times each time running it with different prompts? Or do you want it to be sent to different destination in each schedule? Otherwise you can schedule it once and then access the scheduled instance multiple times.

Multiple report fields from single physical column.

Hi Experts,
I have a physical table like below. Multiple records for a single customer id. The no of Address_type may increase in future.
Customer_id     Address_Type         Address

My Requirement on OBIEE is to display report as below.
Customer_ID, Primary_Address, Secondary_Address, Billing_Address.
101                 abcdefgh            234oij3mb4               mdmnweoij4
Multiple report fields ( Primary_Address, Secondary_Address, Billing_Address ) are derived from same physical column ADDRESS.
I tried to duplicate the Address column on the report thrice and added conditions like Address_Type = Primary/Secondary/Billing for those three fields respectively.
But only of the field is getting correct data and rest of duplicate columns are null.
Tried FILTER function on OBI Answers, but the function fails saying it should be used only on measures.
Thought the alternative would be to define multiple logical columns at BMM layer. Created multiple alias for same table at physical layer and correspondingly created LTS for each on a single logical table. Defined Fragmentation/Where conditions.
LTS1 - Address_Type = PRIMARY
LTS2 - Address_Type - SECONDARY
LTS3 - Address_Type - BILLING
Created multiple logical columns from each LTS like Primary_Address, Secondary_Address, Billing_Address from LTS1, LTS2, LTS3 respectively.
This time, am getting data for all the fields on the report but getting cartesian result.
Can someone guide me whether my approach is correct or any other alternate best approach to achieve the desired result.
Note: I have the data Address on multiple physical rows for a customer, rather Not in a single row. which is causing me problem.

I have lot many other fields in the same report coming from other tables.
Does the Pivot table option for above mentioned Address fields affect other columns?
If Yes, Can there be any other alternative? Am thinking of Opaque View at Physical layer to bring all Addresses on a single row.

Creating multiple reports from one query

Hello Everyone
I are designing crystal reports where 1 query is built for 1 report / 1 sub-report. To improve overall efficiency of reports, I am trying to design multiple reports/ subreports from the same query. All the sub-reports belong to the parent report and they are very similar to each other.
For example: in Webintelligence, we can just create 1 data provider and pull multiple reports from it and display it in multiple tabs.
Can we do the same thing in Crystal reports??

Hello,
If you are using WEBI then you have access to BOE. Create a Universe and publish it to the Repository and then you can use it as your data source.
But I think what you are asking is how to query the DB once? Not possible, each subreport will run the query each time it's viewed.
What you may want to do is create a Stored Procedure and get all of you info into one data collection and not use subreports, use grouping to emulate subreports. As an Example ....
You may want to create a case in Service Market Place since you have BOE and work with a Report Design Rep to help you work out the best solution for you.

I am directly now using crystal report viewer control in my vb6 project.
As mentioned in previous mail, i have created a Interop Wrapper class over crystal report viewer control in .Net using visual studio 2008 and i am making use of wrapper class in my vb6 project.
I am able to access all the properties that have been defined in my Interop wrapper Class but the only stuff i need is to view multiple reports generated one after the another for a single button click Event.
Please find below the code that iam using to load and generate reports.
Note:
1. frm is the instance of my Interop Wrapper Class built over CR viewer control
2. All the user defined methods of Wrapper class that you see below will internally call the actual crystalreportviewer   properties defined in my Wrapper class

Essbase error currently multiple reports per retrieval not supported

One of my users got this error message while working on Essbase Excel add-in. "currently multiple reports per retrieval not supported". Any suggestions why do we get this error and what changes have to be to made to avoid it?

It's kind of a catch-all error message, usually spurred (so I guess that isn't really a catch-all) by having the same dimension referenced more than once in the sheet, e.g., Product in the grid point of view and in rows going down or a dimension repeated in the grid point of view.

Acrobat convert multiple reports to PDF

Greetings,
I am currently experiencing a road block and not quite sure the best way to solve it.
I have Acrobat Professional 9.0 installed on Windows XP. In conjunction with Microsoft Access 2007 I constantly use the Acrobat Add Ins, which are extremely useful especially the "Convert Multiple Reports" function. This function works great when converting multiple MS Access reports into one PDF file (with bookmarks ), however I need to make this feature more seamless - using Visual Basic I cannot determine how to convert multiple access reports into one PDF file. I am hoping someone has a solution to this? I have thought about using SendKeys to access the Add In function, but this will not suffice since Send Keys do not function with consistency. Is their a .dll function I can refer to as a reference?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Row highlighting in standard report

I'm trying to apply a background color (ie highlighting) to a row in a standard report. The report is a summary list of several records from a table. Below this region is a form region where one can navigate and update specific records. There are way too many fields to do this using a standard tabular form. I'd like to highlight or apply the background color to the row shown in the lower region. Can anyone suggest how to do this?

Highligting rows based on multiple conditions

Hi,
I have to show a report with exceptions highlighted in RED color. Exceptions are based on some conditions:
If I have four columns in an answer request, two of which say "Level" and "Status".
based on the "Level" and "Status" column conditions I have to highlight entire row which satisfies any of the condition.
Ex: If I have Level=3,4,5 and Status= Y,N then for
Level=3 or Status=N is one exception.
Level=4,5 or Status=Y is another exception.
Based on this two column conditions I have to highlight entire row in the report.
Can we do this in OBIEE. Highlighting rows based on multiple conditions?

I have tried that already. I can highlight one specific field but not entire row.
If I keep on applying the conditional format for the other columns too then I can't apply the conditions.
Anyways, I have created a dummy column with the conditions in it and then applied that to the other fields and used conditional format to highlight the color.
