Accessing the PrinterList and PrintPresetsList w/ VB

Question

I'm writing a VB application that controls certain aspects of Illustrator CS2 for the users. On thing I'd like to be able to do is obtain a list of printers and the presets for the printers, show friendly names to the user and let them select the "Friendly" printer name while I set the printer and preset in the background. When I try to access the printers, Illustrator hangs and returns an 'Object Required' error....it all of a sudden doesn't know what my aiApp object is. Any clues?

Thanks for posting this -- it will be very useful for those working through the initial setup.
One thing that threw me for a loop was the scheme that Apple was using for the credentials -- they recommend using the eduCourse data model for iTunes roles. I found these pages helpful in understanding this scheme:

Once role creation is activated within iTunes U (documented in the in-progess Chapter 3) you'll be able to create roles echoing the EduCourse model.
Our LDAP has not been extended to support this model, so our intermediate plan is to authenticate users (be they Instructors, Learners or Administrators) via our existing LDAP through a Perl script. Once authenticated to LDAP, we'll query a separate database to determine what their eduCourse role is, and then use that to connect to iTunes U.
