Accordian List WebPart
I am hoping to complete this requirements without Visual Studio as I do not consider myself a programmer. Possibly using JavaScript of jQuery.
What I need is a SharePoint List of Documents that will start off showing 5 documents and then once a button is clicked it will accordion down to show the rest. Can anyone please point me in the right direction.

You can create view in your document library and make it the default view or add this view on your site page as list webpart, in the view you can create a custom
column and that column will set the value increment by one automatic by calculated column, so based on this column view you can filter the documents and show only the n number of documents in view and reset of the items you can show as group by items column

External List Webpart does not render after webpart page is checked in
Hello,
I've created an external list based on an external content type the list renders fine.
I have in turn created a webpart page and added the external list to the webpart page as well as a current user filter.
I use the filter to filter this list based on a column (username in the external list). I do all this within a publishing site (I don't know if that's contributing to the challenge I'm having).
before I check in and publish the page I observe the filters are applied
and it appears everything is ok. However after I check in the page and publish it the page doesn't render and the gears cycles on the page for ages
It's worked the first time I did it but I had to delete and recreate the page subsequently the page doesn't render and gears animation just keeps playing. Even with the filter disconnected from the webpart it still doesn't render. What could kindly be the

As I understand, you encountered the issue when you checked in and published the web part page.
If you do not have to use external list web part, you can change to use business data list web part in the business data. You can edit the web part and choose the external content type you want
to connect.

Contact accordian list web part
I have a custom list that is showing contacts. I have the following fields in the list
Room Name: Scooby
Phone Number 000-000-0000
Location: New York City
On my page I want to show it as
New York City
Scooby: 000-000-0000
Philly
Snoopy: 000-000-0000
and so on, but I want to show it in an accoridian web part and have collasped on load. Is there a way to do this reading a custom list and show as i have above?Hi,

Bug editing list Items using webpart connections ,group by and inline editing
Hi Everyone. I came across a bug using out of the box features.
Let me explain well the details to reproduce the error. I used :
*2 Lists :
-List one : the consumer list with two columns :
-Number column
-Choice column
-List two :
The sender list with one column :
-Lookup column to gets the number column on the consumer list
*A webpart Page
*2 listviewwebparts in the webpart page
*Connect webparts to filter by the lookup column/number column
*Add inline editing in the consumer webpart
Till now everything works perfectly, inline editing works fine. Let's add some more view details :
*Add a group by in the view of the consumer webpart (group by the choice column)
=> Try to edit list items, you will notice that inside a group, inline editing is OK and inside another group it doesnt work!
If you get the same error, that would be nice to find where is the problem (I already found a similar bug and the problem was the sorting that needs to be in the same way for both connected webparts , ASC or DESC). But this one... ???Hi Static,
According to your description, I create the consumer list and sender list, create a webpart page , add a chioce filter webpart and consumer list webpart. But after I add a group by in the view of the consumer webpart, the inline edit still work fine.

Need Next Previous Button on List view webpart
Hi All,
5 items are displaying from the announcement list on the homepage. The client is asking to give next and previous button on the webpart so more than 5 announcements can be seen by the user. What are the various options to implement? Does 2013 provides this
functionality Out-of-box? What kind of customization options available for this? Please point me to any reference if you have any.

webpart is to "display one question from survey sharepoint list(latest question)" and enduser participate on the survey when enduser submits the question(survey), save the result in to the list and result will display as graphical representation.
How can i do this requirement, any help?You do not need to create a custom web part if you need to show the latest question and then display result in graphical way. The Survey list gives that OOTB.
If there is a specific requirement, you can use Server/Client Object Model and achieve it. -
How can I share data between two forms on different lists
Using a custom content type, I created two lists that I want to share the same data - one is a calendar. Our employees complete a form from the "Out of Office Request" list that has workflow functionality that sends an email to that person's
manager. If the manager approves the request, the item automatically populates the "Out of Office Calendar." The problem is that the only information from the request list that populates the calendar is the Title field and date/time fields.
I need the manager name in order to create a view for each manager.
How can I connect the other information in the request list to the calendar list. It seems to me that if the title and date fields carry over the information, there should be a way to connect the other information. I'm using Designer.
I've tried to connect the two lists' webparts with the wizard, but when I get to the page that maps the two lists, there are no column names and the "Next >" button is grayed out. This seems like the logical place to connect the two lists,

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted share data between two forms on different lists.
To show external information on the calendar event, there are two methods: Calculated column, workflow. You can refer to:
A Simple Guide to Show More Information on a Calendar Event
I recommend to use workflow to achieve what you want. But you need to create a people column to display the manager.
You can create a workflow associated to the "Out of Office Request" list, add action to Start Approve Process. If the manager approves the request, you can create a item in the calendar, and then update the people column and the title column.
Then the calendar will display the Title, date/time and the manager.
To create a view for each manager, you need to modify the Filter. You can use the people column is equal to the manager name or the Title contains the manager name.

How to recover a deleted document library webpart with files in it?
Hi,
I accidentally deleted a document library webpart with folders and files in it. Can someone help how to recover it? What do you think happens to the files? I checked the recycle bin, there is no any deleted file related to the missing files. When I checked
the Site Content and Structure, I can find the folders yet cant see the files in it. It gives a message that says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".
Please guide.

Follow these steps:
1) open page: https://your_pormal/Lists/YOUR_LIST_NAME/AllItems.aspx
2) open page in edit mode -> add webpart -> find your list in available webparts -> add
3) click on the ribbon Stop Editing (Page tab)
4) Now you try open library from Site Content.
But your webpart will looks not like a when a library was created:
Now follow these steps:
1) Open library settings
2) click Create View
3) Select Standard View (don't select All Items from view templates)
4) Name it (for example MyAllItems)
4) Check: Make this the default view
5) Check: Title (linked to item with edit menu)
6) Click Save button
7) Now you have new View (with new address)
8) Open page https://your_pormal/Lists/YOUR_LIST_NAME/AllItems.aspx
9) Open it in edit mode
10) Open list webpart in edit mode
11) Set Selected View to MyAllItems
12) Toolbar Type to Full Toolbar
13) Click OK (after this step it may still showed in "wrong" style)
14) Click on the Page tap - Stop Editing
15) Check result ;)

We have three drop downs (ddlRotation, ddlOnCallType and ddlHospital) in our webpart. All values are being populated dynamically. One from list (ddlHospital) and other from tool part properties. For dropdown populated from list, we are storing values in

WebPart is working fine in development environment (single machine) while on production ( 1 front end, 1 index and 1 db server), drop down values disappear after post back. Below is the code.

exists with different name/title, or viewstate is disabled or webpart properties are not populated... there's so many possibilities. Also if possible refactor your code as shown below:

BCS list data not rendering as HTML
I have a Business Data List webpart in Sharepoint Online (2013) which pulls data from a BCS List. This data contains HTML which is not rendering as HTML but the HTML text.
I've modified the data to HTML format the data, no joy (example: < img src="/)
I've modified the data to spit out the native html, no joy (example: <img src="/)
I've modified the XSLT of the webpart using the Data View Properties (when editing the webpart in Sharepoint) to output the text from the list as below, which didn't work:

Js link - Display group count list SharePoint 2013
I have a list column name "category" with values like Completed, Not Completed, Started.
I want to group list items based on category. I want to format it without showing all the list items so that it should look like:

According to your description, you might want to change the format of the list view to display without list items.
I would suggest you debug the script in browser to watch if
listItem[group] object contains a valid Count property.

If your requirement is to display something like a static HTML table, an alternative way is that you can apply custom CSS to the page to hide the unwanted elements.

Create custom Edit button for list on SharePoint 2013 page

I have a custom list which holds contact information such as name, telephone, address. I am displaying the custom list webpart with using a custom view on the site home page which only shows name and telephone. It should only
have 1 item so 'New Item' is not needed. However I still need to be able to edit the item. If I click 'Edit' on the list view on the home page, it will open a quick edit box only showing name and telephone.
How can I create a custom button on the home page that will open the custom list item form instead? Therefore all columns will be editable and I can remove the "New and Edit" toolbar from the webpart.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to open the custom list item form.
Per my knowledge, there is out of box method to achieve it.
After you insert the web part to a page, you need to edit the web part and change List Views as below, then it will remove the "New and Edit" toolbar from the webpart.
In the page, if you click the web part , the ribbon will appear. After you select the item and click Edit Item, the edit form with all fields will be displayed.

It is a bug.. but this is from over a year ago.
Specifically, Putting an external list on a publishing page renders correctly until you publish. Once you publish all you see is the "loading" green spinning icon.
One proposed workaround was to use a business list webpart, however I cannot override the jslink of a business data webpart. Any insight into a resolution would be appreciated!
Also, clicking the "Enable Asyncronous Load" doesn't resolve the issue. It continues to remain unchecked when checking the box.Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you have an issue about the external list in publishing page.
I can reproduce the issue in the SharePoint server 2013 without installing any CUs or PU.
However, in another SharePoint server 2013 environment which installed the SP1, I add the external list in a publishing page, then publishing the page, the page renders the external list well without any issue.
I recommend you install the SharePoint server 2013 SP1, then check whether it works.

BCS Business Data List data HTML Formatting data
