Account Name = "Other..." ??? I've got the Solution

Question

There are two ways you can go about resolving this issue.
1. Follow the steps here:

or (as was the case with me and the above didn't work, Apple Support was very helpful - so here I am returning the love!)
- Similar to the above -
NOTE: type all spaces and Capital letters as you see them below
1. make sure your computer is off
2. restart your computer holding down "command + s" to start up your computer in Single User Mode
3. At the prompt, type this followed by Return: *mount -uw /*
4. Next, type this followed by return: *ls /Users*
MAKE A VERY CLOSE, EXACT NOTE OF THE ACCOUNT NAME THAT YOU WANT TO LOG IN WITH. You will need it later.
5. Type this followed by Return: *rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone*
6. at the next prompt, type: exit
This command will start up your computer as if you and newly installed Leopard (but will keep all of your files etc. intact just as you left them on your computer)
IMPORTANT: when you reach the Account Setup screen, type your previously noted "Short Name" into the field for Short Name. Select a Password and continue with the registration.
when you have finished the registration etc. and you are back at your desktop, launch the Terminal application (which is located in the Applications/Utilities folder).
After launching Terminal type: *sudo chown -R USERNAME:staff /Users/USERNAME*
note: USERNAME = your short name
the next prompt will ask you for your password. Input your password (you will see that you are not typing anything) and hit enter.
Everything has been done correctly if the cursor makes a hard return.
AND THEN YOU'RE DONE!! Enjoy your computer.

Non Admin Accounts:
-Boot to single user Mode: Hold the apple key and the letter S, Hit the power button and keep holding the apple key and the letter S down, (When you see a few S’s being typed in Darwin, Delete the S’s).
-(Type) mount –uw / (then Enter key)
-(Then type) rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone (Enter)
-(Then type) exit
The computer will then restart and come to a screen as if you just bought the computer allowing you to create a new Admin account. Follow the steps and at the Wireless part hit…Different network setup then My computer does not connect to the Internet, since we will be deleting this account when done. This will be a Temp user.
-When done with the registering part and selecting a picture you are in as an Admin Account
-Go to the Apple on the top left, click system preference, and then Accounts, You will see your old account as standard and the new one as an Admin.
-Click the lock on the bottom left and use the new Password to unlock
-Then click the old account and on then bottom right click MAKE THIS USER ADMIN
-Close the lock and Log out from the apple menu
-Log into the Old Account, same old password and in same case’s the new password
-Once in old account go to the Apple and select system preference and then accounts again. Open the lock and select the new account made, after that is selected hit the – above the lock and Delete account.
And then there ya go, You are now an admin again from upgrading - 10.4.11 to 10.5
