Account Other than Sys to Access 10g OEM

I know in 9i or previous version a user with a privilege of SELECT ANY CATELOG will be able to use OEM for read-only purpose. But I tried on 10g it doesn't allow to login. Any clue?

HT2486 How do you assign a new contact to an account other than default account?

I have multiple mail accounts (iCloud, exchange server, gmail) each with their own contacts. When adding a contact how do you assign it to the right account? I know you can assign a default account under settings but how can you assign it to an account other than the default?

Apple allows you a deauthorize all option once every 12 months.

Deauthorize all computers
After you authorize two computers, you'll have the option to deauthorize all computers for your Apple ID. You can deauthorize all computers once a year.
Just like deauthorizing a single computer, you won’t delete anything if you choose to deauthorize all computers. You just won’t be able to play content that you bought from iTunes on those computers. After you deauthorize all, you can easily authorize computers again one by one. Just follow the steps to authorize a Mac or PC.
Here's when you should deauthorize all your computers:
If a computer doesn't work anymore
If you don't have one of your computers
If you used 5 authorizations and want to authorize a new computer
To deauthorize all your computers, follow these steps using one of your authorized computers:

Someone other than me has accessed my icloud account.what do I do

This is the second time this has happened in a week . I had an e mail sating someone called +++++ had accessed my i cloud message account . Help do I have to change my password again . I have this persons name

Tell them that accessing someone else's personal account without permission is illegal and if they do it again, you'll have no choice but to take legal action.
Make sure you have proof that it is this person.

Do I need another mail account other than mac?

This may be a dumb question, but here goes: as I use my desktop mac mail for sending and receiving all of my mail, including sbc/yahoo mail, I'm wondering why I need the second. Is it because they provide my internet access?
If I used solely mac mail, I'd still have to pay a provider, right? And I'd have the option of using, or not using that mail account, correct?
Now that I'm getting more into dotmac mail on the web, which allows me to access all of my mail from any computer, I'm using yahoo less and less.
Do you see where I'm going? Trying to slim down my Internet travels.

You can access your other existing email accounts through Mail.app which it sounds like you are doing, so keeping other email addresses, in addition to .Mac, is purely up to you. Quite a few folks have more than one email address for different purposes if for no other reason than a "junk" address for web sites that require an email address for access. Keeping a "clean" email address for family, friends and personal contacts can be very helpful if you get a lot of spam.
Email accounts are almost always offered thru an internet provider, and not taking advantage of them will not reduce your providers monthly bill. What you are paying for is the access to the internet, whether it be dial up, DSL, or something else. Free email accounts are available from a multitude of different services - Gmail, Netscape, AOL, Yahoo, etc.
You can drop or add email accounts at will. Since you are a subscriber, a look at .Mac Mail aliases might also provide some insight and alternatives.
Apple does not provide internet access, so you still need your provider. .Mac is simply a group of tools and a service integrated together and sold by Apple.

How can I upload to Facebook with an account other than what Yosemite uses?

iPhoto let me use a separate Facebook account than Yosemite's internet accounts. I want my wife to use Photos (like she used iPhoto) while I keep the one set up in Yosemite's internet accounts. I use Lightroom for photos and want to let my wife use my Mac just for Photos. I don't see a way to do it and would rather not set up a system account for her. She has her own PC but wants to use my Mac just for Photos.

Kudos! I too am frustrated about this change to my personal page. I also know Apple is not to blame. I also manage a page for the company I work for using pages app. And that app is UN affected and I can choose from any photo stored on my phone (4). I do keep them seperate so I can keep a professional aspect for the company. But if you want your personal page linked to your public or work page, this maybe the work around your looking for.

How do I authorize music purchased on a different appleID account other than mine?

Long story. Here goes:
I was married for several years and during that time my now ex-wife and I purchased music from iTunes. Being married and foolishly adhering to that old adage that once two people are married they become one, we set up OUR Apple account using my then wife's (now ex-wife's) e-mail address and created OUR apple ID account under her name. Fast forward eight years, it has now been two years since my divorce and I have tons of music that was purchased using my ex-wife's Apple account. During the last two years, playing the music that was purchased with her account has not been an issue. I select my music that I want to listen to, hit play and it played. But ever since the latest update from iTunes, I now have a HUGE issue. The latest update requires computers to now be "authorized" to play purchased music and any purchased music must now be verified by the account ID and password used to purchase the music. This has created a catastrophe because my ex-wife has now of course changed her Apple ID password which means I no longer have access to about $1000 worth of music because of this new authorization bull crap!! WHY APPLE IS REQUIRING THIS I DO NOT KNOW BUT I DO KNOW I CANNOT AFFORD TO RE-PURCHASE UNDER MY ACCOUNT THE $1000 WORTH OF MUSIC I ALREADY PURCHASED UNDER MY EX-WIFE'S ACCOUNT. This has made me livid to say the least because this seems to be an arbitrary and completely random bull crap requirement from Apple. I have tried to resolve this through Apple support but since it is now nearly impossible to speak to a human at Apple, the email method of communication has yielded diddly squat. I doubt this "forum method" will be any more productive but I have to try. I have begun a social media campaign against Apple's methods of burying random and arbitrary requirements deep within their regular software updates. I've already paid for the music once. I won't pay for it again. HHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you freeze the ID (simply meaniung each agrees to not make new purchases) then you both have two iTunes accounts to deal with - the old one and a new one.
Also, you legally cannot both use the content.
Just give the iTunes account to one or the other then each has only one iTunes account.

Not able to open Admin console with other Administrator account other than "system"

I am trying to create new users and add them to "Administrator" and "Administrators"
so that they can access Admin console. I tried open up "http://localhost:7001/console"
and entered in this new id and password, but it did not allow me in. At the same
time if i enter "system" and "password" i was able to logon successfully.
Can some one please let me know what i am missing here? Do i have to update any
"Realm" files? And changes have to be made any other location?
My idea is to have 3 people in different sub teams to access console and not use
"system" user account.
Please let me know if you need any more information.

Applications won't open when I'm logged in under another account other than Admin

I run a high school computer lab. As such, I have several user accounts on my iMacs (mid 2011). I upgraded from 10.6.8 to 10.9. The Admin account works okay, but in the other user accounts when I try and click on an application in the dock, nothing happens. In addition, when I click on the Apple in the top left corner there is a huge delay before anything happens.
Does Mavericks not play well with more than one user account on the iMac?

How do I strop thunderbird from using any email account other than my default one?

I have a number of different email accounts all set up separately but identities are not set as they were too confusing for this autistic brain.

You most likely don't need identities, at least not as Thunderbird uses the term.
Most of us would reply to an email address by replying "from" the address it was sent "to". I wouldn't reply to business emails using my private email address, nor would I reply to private email messages using my work email address. Email software generally goes out of its way to maintain this consistency. So you want to override this built-in behaviour. ;-)
You might find these add-ons useful:
Folder Accounts lets you associate an email address ("identity" in the broader sense) with each folder, so this can force the use of a preferred address.
Correct Identity reads through the message you're writing and picks out a relevant "identity" to use as "from:", depending on whom you are writing to. This helps me avoid using my personal email address to reply to business emails and vice versa. It can also flash up a warning if you try to use an "unapproved" email address in the "from:" field.
I have used Folder Accounts to override the default identity for one or two accounts which are used in a very specific context, such as reporting spam, but it has clashed with newsgroups. Of course, this may not matter to you.
Of the two, Folder Account may suit you best if you don't use Thunderbird to read newsgroups.

Is there any way i can have more than one login accounts other than the administration account i have when i first set up my computer?

I have a Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.6.8) and i am trying to set up an account for someone who regularly logs onto my guest account. I am doing this so whenever they are here and need to use my computer, they can use it without using my account( the admin account) or guest account( where the have to log into guest account and work on whatever it is they needed to do, then unfortuanatly have to erase all files from that day so they can log out )
I still want it to be an account for that person to have when they are here, but NOT guest account. Just an additional account. ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!! Thanks in advance! <3

Setting an email account other than Mail as the default

I do not use Mail or Entourage (or have a .mac account), and I wonder if there's a way to set my own email account as the default for saving a photo directly to an email message. Right now my workaround is very complicated.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Is your current email account a POP account or is it a web based account? If it's a pop account you can setup Mail as the client for that account and then would have the capability of saving directly to iPhoto as well as emailing directly from iPhoto. You don't need a .Mac account to use Mail.
However, if the account is a web based account I don't think there's any way to save directly to iPhoto. The photos have to be be saved to the HD first before they can be imported into iPhoto.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Going Crazy trying to DB other than my Local DB in OEM

I have a local 10g database and I have installed EM. The tool works fine for that database, but I was not able to connect to another 9i database instance sitting on the Unix Server. Can anyone tell me how I make EM see the remote Database instance and would I login ? Thank !

You have installed 10g Dbconsole, this serves only the 10g database, it belongs to. To manage other local and remote databases on any platform, you have to install and configure 10g Grid Control separately (not included in database software).

I cannot reply to an email if in account other than default.

Help please! My iphone settings seem to be exactly the same and I have no issue. When I hit reply to an email in an account that is not the default account it tells me "Cannot send mail...check the settings for the outgoing servers in Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calenders" Again, same outgoing server as on my iphone but can't do it with Ipad.

Fixed it. deleted the account and set it up again. Still don't know what was going on. Tried that before and did not work....whatever.

Birthdays of address book accounts others than local

There appear no birthdays in iCal for contacts of Apple's address book, if the contact are NOT within the Local account, but part of a CardDAV account. If I copy a contact to the Local account the birthday appears in iCal.
My iPhone (iOS4) uses also CardDAV to sync these contacts, but the birthdays are shown in the iPhone's calendar perfectly.
Is iCal able to handle birthdays of Local contacts only?

Sorry for the delayed response. As I said, this is a quick hack of somebody else's work, so the end result isn't pretty, but it works.

vbook is the script you run. It requires vcard.
To execute it, first export your address book entries into a single vcf file. In Address Book, select the server account. In the menu , select File->Export->Export Group vCard and put the file wherever you want it. The script as written expects to find this file in the folder above the script, but that's easy to change.
After you have the file in the right place, execute the script. It writes to standard output, so you'll probably want to pipe it to an .ics file. Then import that file into iCal.
As I mentioned, if you have multiple Macs, you'll want to run this file on each one, and import the file into a local calendar. If you try to put it on a server and share it between Macs, the address book links in the calendar entries won't work.
Obviously, this is a minor PITA as you need to run it regularly if you have a lot of changes in your Address Book. It's not too bad for me, because I don't have a lot of changing info. I run it every few months, whenever I think about it, in case I've recently added a birthday to my address book.
I'm hoping that this will all become unnecessary when iCloud rolls out
