ACE: Deletion of actors
Hello,
I'm using the interfaces IF_CRM_ACE_FROM_OBJECT, IF_CRM_ACE_FROM_USERS, IF_CRM_ACE_OBJECTS_BY_FILTER in order to determine the actor ID.
If new objects are created and changed (in my case selected business partners using some "attributes" in table BUT000), the actors IDs are determined correctly.
What happens now if my attributes (fields) in scope within BUT000 (AUGRP) will change and the ACE list has to be corrected, that means the affected actor ID for all candidates with changed attribute AUGRP should be deleted now for all users who were assigned previously ?
Is the export table ET_FAILED_OBJECTS the correct table within method GET_ACTORS_FROM_OBJECT (class IF_CRM_ACE_ACTORS_FROM_OBJECT) in order to fill this table with to be deleted actor IDs ?
Or how can this be achieved?
Yours
Stephan.
Hi Stephen,
The ACL tables are refreshed every 16hrs if not specified otherwise.
So if there's any change in the attributes by which you are selecting the actors, It should be refreshed
automatically according to the logic you have written to populate the actors.

ACE CLIENT CERTIFIATE INSERTION IN HEADER
Hy guys.
I have a doubt regarding the client cert insertion in the https header.
The exact problem is that in the old SSL module we had an option like this:
policy http-header cert_pass
client-cert pem
As you can see, we configure the option to pass the complete certificate in pem format in one header.
I'm unable to find this optiono in ace 5.1(3) version.
Any idea?
Thanks!Hi David,
May be i didn't understand. Is this what are you looking for? You can find it in the same link.
Configuring HTTP Header Insertion of SSL Client Certificate Information
When you configure the ACE for client authentication, you can instruct the ACE to provide the server with information about the client certificate that the ACE receives from the client. This SSL session information enables the server to properly manage the client request and can include certificate information such as the certificate serial number or the public key algorithm used to create the public key in the certificate. To forward the SSL session information to the server, the ACE inserts HTTP headers containing the client certificate fields that you specify into the HTTP requests that it receives over the client connection. The ACE then forwards the HTTP requests to the server.
Note To prevent HTTP header spoofing, the ACE deletes any incoming HTTP headers that match one of the headers that it is going to insert into the HTTP request.
When you instruct the ACE to insert SSL client certificate information, by default, the ACE inserts the HTTP header information into every HTTP request that it receives over the client connection because persistence rebalance is enabled by default. If you do not want the ACE to insert the information into every HTTP request that it receives over the connection, disable persistence rebalance in an HTTP parameter map. You can also instruct the ACE to insert the information into every HTTP request that it receives over the connection by creating an HTTP parameter map with the header modify per-request command enabled. You then reference the parameter map in the policy map that the ACE applies to the traffic. For information about creating an HTTP parameter map, see the Cisco 4700 Series Application Control Engine Appliance Server Load-Balancing Configuration Guide.
Note You must have the ACE configured for client authentication to insert an HTTP header with SSL client certificate field information (see the "Enabling Client Authentication" section). If you configure header insertion but do not configure the ACE for client authentication, no header information is inserted and the counters that track the header insertion operation do not increment (see Chapter 6, "Displaying SSL Information and Statistics").

KEEPING the ACTOR but DELETING the attached SCRIPT on ENTERFRAME
Hi, new in this forum.
Lets put it that way...On frame 50, I've got on the score 25
buttons that are handled by 25 different(but similar) property
scripts. These buttons could be enabled(checked) or unchecked. Now,
when i'm going on frame 100, I compile in a linear list all the
sprites that have been clicked. Then, using those sprite numbers,
i'm trying to keep the actor(button) on the scene(score) on their
checkep state, but i want that the checked buttons would be now
impossible to click for the user. (like once you've clicked and
pass the frame 101, the state of the button won't change even if
you click on it.
Please find here an example of a script that is attached to a
button in the Attached Code.
Thank you for helping me...kind of a big headache for
me.Sorry, don't have time to read through all your code, but
what you want
to do sounds pretty simple. If I understand you correctly,
simply set a
global variable in frame 100 to tell the other sprites
they're no longer
active. Something like this for your frame script:
global gclickable
on exitFrame me
gclickable = false
end
Then in each button have it look for that same global
variable.
Something like this:
global gclickable
on mouseUp me
if gclickable = true then
do whatever you want here
end if
end
Then you'd just need to remember to set gclickable to true up
near frame
50 so that the buttons would actually do something when you
wanted them to.
Hope that helps. -
My iMessage crashes when I try to edit or delete a conversation
Hi,
Whenever I try to delete a conversation from iMessage, or when I try to change where the message is sent to (either from email to phone or vice-versa), it crashes. I had a similar problem with iChat, where if someone I that had an open chat box with logged out, iChat would stop functioning, and wouldn't let me send or receive messages or tell me who went offline or came on. I spoke to Apple support, but they were stumped; their best advice was to try reinstalling OS X Mountain Lion. I did, but that did not help.
What do I do???It isn't a problem with ichat anymore, because I upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion. I do get an iMessage quit unexpectedly message, but it doesn't provide me with info. It only asks for details on how to recreate this crash. And what would looking in console help with?
EDIT
I get these error message from console:

Best Practice for Mass Deleting Transactions
Hi Gurus
Can you please guide on this - We need to mass delete Leads from the system. I can use Crm_Order_Delete FM. But want to know if there are any best practices to follow, or anything else that i should consider before deleting these transactions from the system.
We have our archiving policy under discussion which may take some time, but due to large volume of reduntatn data we have some performance issues. For example when searching for leads and using ACE, the system goes through all the lead data.
That is the reason we are plannign to delete those old records. My concerns is that using CRM_ORDER_DELETE, would it clear all the tables for those deleted transactions and if there are any best practices to follow.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards.

Please go through the AppModel application which is available at: http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/codesamples/sampleapps.html
The OnePage Table Based example shows exactly how to use deleting multiple rows from a datatable...
Hope this helps.

Best Practice to use one Key on ACE for new CSR?
We generate multiple CSR on our ACE....but our previous network admin was only using
one key for all new CSR requests.
i.e.......we have samplekey.pem key on our ACE
we use samplekey.pem to generate CSR's for multiple certs..
is this best practice or should we be using new keys for each new CSR
also .is it ok to delete old CSR on the lb..since the limit is only 8?..thxWe generate multiple CSR on our ACE....but our previous network admin was only using

Can anybody point me in the right direction for changing the URL when the ACE is performing the redirection?
I have the standard ace redirection to HTTPS set up and it is working fine.
I have a wildcard certificate *.abc.com but when the application was being tested the URL abc.com kicks up a certificate error in the browser.
Not sure if I should have set the CN as *acb.com when ordering it but its done now.
I am wanting to redirect when http://abc.com is put in the client browser to https://www.abc.com
I have tried reading these forums and using header rewrite to change the location on response but it just doesn't seem to work.
I have tried deleting/renaming/replacing the host header on request and rewrite/delete on response. Tried all sorts of regex nothing works.
I can insert a header so I know the action is being hit, just can't seem to change the host on request or location on response.
Any idea's?
I am guessing the inner workings only allow for modification of these headers when the redirects are being done by the server and the headers are passing through the load balancer.
on latest 5(2.1) version
example of one I tried
action-list type modify http ABC_MODIFY
header rewrite response location header-value "https://abc(.*)" replace "https://www.abc%1"
then applied to policy redirect mapI tried another approach which seemed to work.
rserver redirect RED2A
webhost-redirection https://www.%h 302
inservice
rserver redirect RED2
webhost-redirection https://%h 302
inservice
serverfarm redirect RED2-VIP-IN
rserver RED2
inservice
serverfarm redirect RED2A-VIP-IN
rserver RED2A
inservice
class-map type http loadbalance match-any RED2A-VIP-IN
2 match http header Host header-value "abc.com"
class-map match-any RED2-VIP-IN
2 match virtual-address x.x.x.x tcp eq www
..etc
policy-map type loadbalance first-match RED2-VIP-IN-LB-POLICY
class RED2A-VIP-IN
serverfarm RED2A-VIP-IN
class class-default
serverfarm RED2-VIP-IN
this seemed to redirect the abc.com to https://www.abc.com and the other requests like other.abc.com to https://other.abc.com
I tried regex for the header value match like [^\.]abc.com and ^abc.com but these didn't seem to match. -
ACE Total Connections Failed stats
I have been monitoring connection stats on an ACE Module context (show stats connection).
During recent load testing I observer that about 1/3 of all connections were failing and some timing out.
How can I find out more details about the connections that are failing and timing out?
ie which specific connection are failing, what type of failures increment this counter, etc
Cheers,
Karl

Thanks for responding.
A load test was run earlier today. I cleared the counters and collected some stats (see below).
I also had a look at various other stats for drops.
As far as I could see all relevant, rservers, serverfarms and service-policies were:
in service BUT
drop stats were not incrementing at anywhere near the same rate as the Total Connections Failed stat.
Another load test is scheduled for tomorrow.
Any thoughts on what to check next?

Is there any way to simplify this rules in ACE
Hello Support Forum Members,
i just create some ACL rules in cisco ACE 4710.
here are some rules,
class-map type http inspect match-any DENIED_URL

3 match url .*.php
4 match url .*.asp
5 match url .*.aspx

27 match url .*.ico
28 match url .*etc.*
29 match url .*wp[-].*
30 match request-method rfc trace
31 match url /images
32 match request-method rfc delete
33 match request-method rfc options
34 match request-method rfc put
35 match url /status
36 match request-method rfc head
37 match request-method rfc connect
class-map type http inspect match-any URL_TO_PERMIT
4 match request-method rfc get
5 match request-method rfc post
7 match header length request range 200 200
12 match url /stripe/.*
13 match url /stripe-string/.*
15 match url /
16 match url /foobar/agent.*
my query is, can i simplify this rule become some few of lines.?
my need is : all access to /foobar/agent, /stripe-string/, /stripe with get and post method are allowed, also with situation server response is 200 200, other will be crush.
it's possible i simplify the rule in ace.
many thanks in advanced
hamzahHi Hamzah,
If you know exactly what you need to allow then you can be as specific as you can be and other than that if you need to deny everything then you can generalize. Now in your case class-map "URL_TO_PERMIT" you have match condition "/" which basically matches all other statments like /stripe/.*, /stripe-string/.*,/foobar/agent.*. Either you remove that or there is no use of other statements to put in along with "/" unless it is like test.com/ or foobar.com/ or stripe.com/ etc.
Also, you want 200 server response to be allowed but in match condition you have mentioned "request range". Please change that as well.

I'm looking for some guidance/thoughts on a problem I'm coming across. I have an SSL termination configuration as follows:
Client to VIP:80 does redirect to VIP:443
Client to VIP:8080 does redirect to VIP:8443
Client to VIP:443 load balances to Real:80
Client to VIP:8443 load balances to Real:8080
On the real server I'm running apache on 80 and tomcat on 8080.
Apache handles the main site while Tomcat handles java applets/authentication/etc.
The problem we're encountering is when apache needs to hand off to tomcat and the reverse. What's the best way to accomplish this while maintaining the connection to the same real server. What is happening is that the ACE is re-load balancing the request to a different real.
Thanks.you could use static cookies [ cookie insert ].
Since you have 2 serverfarms, you'll get 2 different set of cookies.
So, for each sticky group, you need to learn the cookie value associated with each rserver.
Then for the other group, configure a static entry for each cookie value.
Do the same for each group.
Learning the cookie value requires the use of a sniffer. Sniff traffic going to the ACE slot. Open a connection to the vip and see which server is being used and what cookie value is returned. Delete the cookie and repeat until you get the cookie value for each server.
This is the only idea I have right now.

ACE 4710 - Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage randomly
We have a ACE 4710 with a basic config, (see below).
When clicking on a tab from a window within Interent explorer we occasionally get an issue with it returning: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" The details show "Access is denied" accessing a particular line of a javascript file.
We have put one web server out of service in the farm to make sure that this isn't a result of stickyness not quite working.
We have tested extensively by going directly to the web server directly without the load balancer and cannot reproduce the problem but we can produce the issue within a few minutes when going to the load balanced address.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Need for implementing Objects By Filter (OBF) method in ACE
Hi All,
i wanted to understand the significance of the OBF method in ACE. Can i implement my logic only using Actor from User (AFU) and Actor from objects (AFO). Does it impact the performace if OBF is not implemented. Please provide you inputs on this.
Regards,
SudhaHi Nithish.,
Thanks for explanation. Yes i understood the purpose of OBF. Let me tyr explain my doubt with an example.
I have to determine acces for one-order objects having a specific custom transaction type say ZABC.
In OBF i will fetch all the one order objects where the transaction type is ZABC. This output of OBF will serve as input to my AFO.
In AFO, i willl again fetch the same objects. I will loop through the output of OBF method for every object and check if the object fetched in AFO is present in output table of OBF. If yes then proceed further in determinig the actor for that objec. Repeat this process in a loop for every object in OBF.
If my above understanding is correct, what is need for having specific OBF method when I can directly write the logic of fetching one order object of transaction type ZABC in my AFO and dertermine the actors for them. without having to loop thourgh the outpu of OBF.

HTTP/HTTPS on the same ACE VIP - best practice
I currently have a VIP representing one server farm that contains two http servers:-
class-map match-all VIP-HTTP-xxxxx.co.uk
2 match virtual-address 10.79.18.10 tcp eq www
class-map match-all VIP-SSL-xxxxx.co.uk
2 match virtual-address 10.79.18.10 tcp eq https
I have port 80 and 443 open on the VIP and SSL termination performed on the ACE (both http servers are the same and configured for default load balancing behaviour - I've also specified port 80 for ACE to server traffic). Having 80 and 443 on the same VIP (meaning the site can be accessed via one NAT'd external IP) came from a request from the business so the site can have one domain.
The majority of the http server(s) web content is standard http but there is a specific sub-directory of interactive forms that requires https termination.
I have a couple of queries with regards to URL re-writes:-
1) Is the SSL URL re-write functionality limited to just the host part of the URL or can the ACE enforce https for specific sub-directories, i.e. can the ACE intercept and re-write a URL if a user tries to go to a particular https page/directory using http (by just deleting the s from the URL within their browser)? A possible example being:-
ssl url rewrite location "www\.cisco\.com\secure-forms"
2) Can the ACE re-direct users back to a standard http page if they try to 'secure' their session by changing http to https within their browser (basically the opposite of the above).
Basically as I have 80 and 443 on the same VIP I'm interested in the best practice methods of enforcing http and https content segregation using just the ACE (as opposed to having Apache doing the re-writes, etc).
Web services functionality (in terms of SSL and URL re-writes) has traditionally fallen within the domain of a dedicated web development team (who use Apache, Tomcat, etc.) but the introduction of the ACE as a load balancing appliance that is primarily managed by the networks team but with functionality that crosses traditional team boundaries has resulted in lots of questions from web development around what functionality can be moved from Apache, etc. and onto the ACE?
Any advice or personal experiences would be gratefully received.
Thanks
MatthewBack again!
Could someone possibly cast their eye over the following config?
The only bit I'm not sure on (syntactically and whether it can even be done on the ACE) is how to specify a DO NOT match regular expression, i.e. how to capture https URLs that do not match my secure pages so I can re-direct the request back to the normal http URL (class-map type http loadbalance Non-Secure_Pages). What I'd like to avoid is re-directing requests that don't need to be, i.e. re-directing all requests that don't match /secure back to http when the majority will be correctly going to a normal http URL :-

Best Practices to Mass Delete Leads
Regards.
-MPHello,
as the root is single label you could get only rid of it with migrating to a new forest. Therefore you should built a lab first and test the steps. As tool you could use ADMT.
http://blogs.msmvps.com/mweber/2010/03/25/migrating-active-directory-to-a-new-forest/
Also you might rethink your design if an empty root is really needed, there is no technical requirement and cost only additional hardware and licenses.
Keep in mind that the new forest MUST use different domain/NetBios names otherwise you cannot create the required trust for migration steps.
You can NOT switch a sub domain to the root and vice versa.

Hello Experts,
As per my requirement I have to restrict Settlements using ACE control.
For the above purpose I have added Billing has new super object and linked it with Billing (CRM object) , I have created ACL,GRP and UTC tables along with custom class and assigned it to superobject.
I am using territory has Actor type and i have done all necessary steps for this object.( AFU class,OBF class ,AFO class ,rights and rule ).
When i run ACE_RUNTIME with my user i can see restricted number of settlements as per my scenario but when i search the for settlements in Web UI I can see all the settlements without any restriction. Please Advice.
Kind Regards,
VinodHi Vinod,
I am also facing the similiar issue.
I have implemented ACE for CLaims, Trade Promotions, Funds, etc., it is working fine for them.
But with settlements I am facing the exact similiar issue.
Any pointers will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Sharad
