I have tried reinstalling product, but this doesn't fix problem

What "exactly" do you mean by "...can't create PDFs any more"? If the product says it's not Activate have you launched Acrobat yet?

Win Freehand can't create PDFs correctly

Any help with the problem below would be much appreciated.
We recently upgraded to Freehand MX (11.0.2) running on 3
Windows (XP) machines but we can't create a pdf file where the
fonts are included correctly using the print to pdf option.
Freehand will also not produce a PS file for printing correctly as
the fonts are also not being included. We have checked all of the
include font options but still they do not appear to be included in
the file. Also, copy and pasting from the created pdf file creates
gibberish.
Within the pdf's document preferences the fonts show up as:
Gen.Frutiger-45-Light (Embedded Subset)
Type: Type 1
Encoding: Custom
Within the actual document page the font appears to have been
substituted with an equivalent. Outputting to an EPS also has the
same problem. And, the problem also occurs with all fonts. Freehand
9 still works OK.
So far all Adobe have said is that Freehand just doesn't
work: 'Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this as
Freehand is a discontinued product and the compatability between
Freehand and Acrobat will not be updated'.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be much
appreciated as at the moment Freehand MX is just unusable and
Adobe's opinion seems to be so what.

Is it okay to create a Formula with Multiple Products in OPM ? If Yes, how does the Formula behave with respect to Standard Costing Subledger.
If not, what are the reasons for not creating formula with Multiple Products & what are the alternatives to that ?

U can very well define Multple products in a formula and ur std costing will work fine. But for any By products there is No costing method support. This is Oracles standard.

I saw the message u r getting. Even i have come across such message.
See, at times there are 2 ids, of which 1 is a development id where the abaper can do developments or changes and another one is a sandbox (cross-client) where abaper can only view / debug / test the same programs which u urself develop.
u dont have authorizations to make changes in sandbox.
In such scenario, the abaper writes the code in development client and being cross client, the code automatically gets updated to the sandbox id. (In case of sap scripts, where it is client dependent, u need to use transaction SCC1, to manually send changes from development client to sandbox).
The message u are getting is because, u r in sandbox & u r trying to change something in sandbox, which as i told before has no authorization for making changes. you can just use it for displaying.
Solution : 1) either ask the basis person to give u the authorization for change in that client (not actually recommended)
2) find out which is the client used for development, which has cross client with the one u r trying currently. make changes in that development client and u'll see the changes automatically reflecting in sandbox (the client u r trying to change). thus u wont need to make changes in this client.
Note : Generally sandbox client means, it has all possible test data and programs, just for the sake of testing. and since its for testing, no one is allowed to mess up with the code by changing it. so the change authorization is not given.
If anymore doubts do revert.

Since installing an icon-editing add-on, I can't open tabs any more / I can only use one tab at a time.

Ever since I installed the add-on Favicon Picker 2 that lets you change the bookmark icons, I can't open tabs any more. The second tab will open, but if you try to go to a site, the FIRST tab redirects to that site. Basically, I can only use one tab at a time. Is there any way I can keep this add-on and use tabs?

Oh, wow - look at that, you're right :) I didn't want to uninstall the add-on as I like the feature, but simply by disabling it you can keep the new icons AND use tabs. Thanks dude!
(The add-on is Favicon Picker 2 0.6.2.15 by the way - some of the user reviews report the same problem.)

Can't create PDF files with adobe acrobat professional 8 on windows 7

I running acrobat Professional 8 on Windows 7 64bit. I can only create PDF files while logged on as administrator. I tried adding the user to the Administrators group, but still have the same problem. The system hangs right after adobe promts me for the file name, I provide the file name click save and it hangs when displaying the "printing message'
Any ideas?

Can't create PDFs from Word due to Cambria font. Help.

I'm using win 7 32 bit office 2010 acrobat pro 9. I can't create pdfs from word because of problems with cambria. I've ttried all the fixes I can find but none worked. Any more ideas?

How are you trying to create the PDF? With AA9 you have to print to the Adobe PDF printer or use the MS plugin.
When you say you cannot create PDFs because of Cambria, what error messages are you getting and copy them here? At this point we really do not know what you are having problems with or how you are trying to create PDFs.
In the future, please provide a topic to help folks that are stepping through all of the posts. A blank topic almost led me to simply skip your post.

Can't create PDFs from Acrobat or Word?

Downloaded the 8.1.4 update and now I can't create PDFs from Acrobat or Word. If I try to create a PDF from the print menu, I get a message indicating that there are no print drivers for this...any ideas?

Thanks for responding. Yep, I tried repairing it...no dice. Then I realized that I'd re-installed AA Pro 8 (having completely given up on the AA Pro 9 upgrade that crashed my system) but not the updates. So I went through and re-installed each update. Still no dice. Then I did another repair. Nope. When I try to create a PDF via the print menu, I get a "Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup." This tells me that I have driver problem. But everything else prints fine, and I'm pretty sure Acrobat doesn't have drivers. I'm stumped...

Why i can't create PDF with right format by LiveCycle?

As we know that PDF format has four sections, the header, object body, cross-reference table and trailer.
But after I create a PDF by Adobe LiveCycle, and open it by UltraEdit or Notepad, I cannot find the cross-reference table and some objects, “trailer” word either .
I try to download several PDF files by follow link:

Adobe LiveCycle Designer makes XFA forms - a thin PDF wrapper around XML, no useful PDF page objects. Still, they are valid PDF. Like any PDF, you might not find a trailer or xref if a cross reference stream is used. See ISO 3200-1 7.5.8 "Cross-Reference Streams".

Can't create PDF from most MS Office files, or combine

After behaving nicely for months, Acrobat suddenly won't create PDFs, either from the Acrobat menu or (for most) from right-clicking in Explorer. If I try File> Create PDF> From File, the dialog says it's looking for 'all supported formats' but doesn't show any of the files in the folder (not even .TXTs). It'll create a PDF from the right-click menu in Explorer, for only a very a few file types (for example, .docx but not .doc), and it won't do a Combine Files, either from Explorer or from the program, for any filetypes (says 'cannot convert file' on all filetypes).
This worked fine up til today and I have the same setup at work (AA 9 Pro and Office 2010) where it works fine. Tried doing a 'Repair' but no change. Starting to panic here. What went south? Thanks for any clues!

I said to print as a check, not to forget PDF Maker. The print is a temporary work around while you resolve the issue, partiuclarly if you are under time pressure. With versions before AA9, PDF Maker was simply a front end for the printer and when the printer was checked things might fail. So you get some trouble shooting of where the problem is. If you do not want to troubleshoot to see if everything is broken, that is fine.
The updates and repairs are other steps to take. A reinstall is typically a last resort and should include deletion of the Acrobat folder and running a cleaner on the registry after the uninstall.
Generally, if the PDF Maker in WORD does not work, then none of the other options to right click and create a PDF or creating a PDF directly in WORD will not work either. The whole point is to trace down to what is the major problem. Often folks have problems because the PDF Maker is not being recognized in WORD and has to be activated, but you have the icon and that suggests things should work.
Your next step is to check the job settings file. Be sure you have access to the job settings file. You will usually get an error message if this access is denied for some reason and posting the error is helpful.

Can Reader create PDF from XLS

A few weeks ago, I had the ability to create PDF files from my Excel Spreadsheets. I do not remember how I set this up but it worked fine. Then I realized that I had both Reader V6 and V7 installed so I uninstalled V6. Now I can't create the PDF files as before. What happened and how can I fix it?

I did not think so. But I DID have the functionality. The only thing I could think of that might have changed was that I uninstalled Reader V6 but kept V7. When I first set it up, I was thinking that it was part of Excel. How could I have gotten the functionality?

Can we create ACL any where?

as a part of my DB migration, i was asked to create the ACLS in the target DB and i am completely new to ACLS. Can any body guide me following points.
1) can i create ACLS in any location. for eg. in my source database. ACL related file is located @
/sys/acls/network_services.xml
but in my TARGET DB can i create in any other location?
for eg in ORACLE_HOME location.
2) How this will be managed in RAC(Active/passive) environment?

1) no you can't , the path /sys/acls is inside the database and not on the filesystem, when you configure an acl using
dbms_network_acl_admin, only refer to the xml filename without the path and the database will take care of properly
storing the xml file in the XDB repository,
2) since it's inside the db and not the filesystem there's no issue with RAC

What can I do? Every time I download & run "iPhoto Library Upgrader" it fails to "prepare" the my iPhoto Library, so I can't open iPhoto any more.
(My MacOS & iPhoto are the latest versions.)
Ever since my last upgrades, every time I try to open iPhoto, a Alert box pops up saying, "To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared. To prepare the library, use the iPhoto Library Upgrader", and it gives 2 options: a "Learn More" button or "Quit" (iPhoto) button. The "Learn More" button links to Apple's "iPhoto '11: About the Library Upgrader" page (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5037), but whenever I then download and run that page's linked app, the same thing happens all over again.
It does no good to rebuild the iPhoto Library (holding down the command & option keys while reopening iPhoto): the same thing happens.
It does no good to use iPhoto Library Manager (http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/) to rebuild the iPhoto Library, as was suggested elsewhere: the same thing happens.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Can I create and use more than one repository on OVM 2.1.5

The version of Oracle VM I am using is 2.1.5 .
I wonder can I create and use more than one repository on OVM 2.1.5. Because I want to install different GOS on different disks.
I know in Oracle VM 2.2 we can use following commands to realize that.
a. #/opt/ovs-agent-2.3/utils/repos.py –n /dev/mapper/mpathxp1
b. #/opt/ovs-agent-2.3/utils/repos.py –r UUID
c. #/opt/ovs-agent-2.3/utils/repos.py –i
And other repositories can also be mounted and found under /var/ovs/mount/UUID.
But in Oracle VM 2.1.5, seems just one repository can be created and mounted. For example:
At first, I create a repository using mpath1p1:
a. # mkfs.ocfs2 /dev/mapper/mpath1p1
b. #/usr/lib/ovs/ovs-makerepo /dev/mapper/mpath1p1 C "cluster root"
c. I can find the repository has been mounted under /OVS.
But if I want to use "/usr/lib/ovs/ovs-makerepo /dev/mapper/mpath2p1 C "cluster root" to create another repository, and check the mount status using command "mount", these two disks are all have been mounted under /OVS.
"# cat /etc/ovs/repositories", only mpath1p1 with UUID was recorded there.
After reboot, only repository with mpath1p1 was mounted under OVS.
Can anyone tell me how to use more than one repositories on OVM 2.1.5. Do I have to install all the GOSs on the same disk and repository.
