Acrobat 8 disables "Save to PDF" only for some PDFs?

Hi there,
I have a tax for for this year that I downloaded from the Colorado Dept of Revenue. The form lets me "fill in the blanks" and prints, but won't let me "Save As" (like the Fed forms will).
So I thought I'd try to "Print" and select "Save as PDF", but somehow, Acrobat has disabled this function completely, and a dialog comes back and says "Use File -> Save As" in Acrobat. But that functionality is disabled.
How can Adobe disable a system function like Print to PDF???? That seems "bad" to me... Can anybody tell me how to save the form that I've filled in? I don't need to edit it again, but it would be nice to be able to do this.
I can print it, then rescan the printed copy to PDF again, but that seems like an extraordinarily stupid and manual workaround....

You need to moan at the original creator, who has
apparently given the file the wrong attributes due to
lack of forethought. Acrobat is only behaving as
it's supposed to.
It's that Acrobat has apparently modified a system function (print to PDF) that I'm complaining about. I understand them disabling the "Save as PDF" function, but I totally disagree with them modifying my print driver's ability to perform a function that every other Macintosh application can perform.
I will be opening this as an issue with both Apple and Adobe. I don't believe they should be allowed to do this. They can make their own program do whatever they want, just don't modify the way the printer driver works.
I'll also open this issue with the State of Colorado to make their forms "saveable".

    please try this (all terms are translated from my German programs to my best knowledge):
    1. Did the creator of the pdf file enable the import options?
    2. See import options: choose an other visibility option for your layer.
    3. Let you show the import options and click into one with a black background and try these out (often a gray is selected).
    4. See trimming: try the different modes there. Often works: "Media".
    5. Is the pdf file (eg from Word) correctly created?
    6. Is the PDF file protected? >>> no import possible.
    7. If that does not help, store the pdf file in Acrobat, repair possible errors, run the PDF Optimizer before placing in InDesign.

  • Auto closing of dispute cases--only for some company codes

    Hi
    We have activated dispute management for several company codes in our system. The auto closing of dispute cases also has been activated in status management. Cases are automatically closed by the system (through a batch job) when the last disputed object is cleared.
    Now there is a requirement to deactivate auto closing only for some company codes. They want to close cases manually in these company codes.
    Is this possible and if so how?

    You cannot deselect at a company code level.
    Can we go through you proposed process.
    So you have a dispute for $100.
    The customer pays it and the dispute closes.
    Then the customer calls up and says they have an issue with the invoice they paid previously.
    I have seen this happen before but there was a little twist
    1 - The customer raised a debit note against the client for the issue that they had. The original invoice is cleared but a debit note is created and then disputed and processed. So you can close the original dispute and create a new dispute against the debit note
    2 - The customer paid the wrong invoice. The dispute was closed. However to rectify the miss allocation the clearing document will be reversed meaning the dispute is "re-opened" and can be processed.
    I am unaware of any other requirement for a customer to "re-dispute" a paid item in SAP.

    TREX search is not getting correct result for some pdf documents. It's not able read the content of some pdf documents. When we search with file name the search result is correct but we are getting "No document excerpt available" message in search result for this file name.

    1. Can you tell me whether the pdf documents are opening when you are selecting them?
    2. This error comes mostly when you havent included this .extn file (.pdf in your case) to the portal.
    3. Check whether this extn is their in your portal if not make it inclueded and then try making a new index and one new data source where your pdf is residing. Try for one Test.
    You have to include the file extns in System Confi....UI Interface...
    Hope this will resolve your issue.

  • Okular freezes for some pdf files

    My problem is that Okular freezes for some pdf files, the problem is NOT related to how big files are, or how many pics/raster in them. I have many pdfs that exceeds 90 MB and run smoothly. Moreover, I have also many large djvu files that run smoothly. Evince runs all files smoothly  as well. I have the latest stable okular with the latest stable poppler versions as of today.
    Okular freezes in a somewhat weird way, if I go down from page x to x+1 in contiuous mode, It freezes when I reach the gray bar that spearates the 2 pages, when I want to go back to page x from page x+1, which it is supposed to be cached and should load smoothly, Okular also freezes at the same place.
    My problem happens with small books having almost all text, and also happens with scanned books. The weird thing is that some other scanned books and some other all-text pdfs, e.g. academic papers, runs smoothly.

    Sounds like a bug. Try to report it to the bug tracker and be sure to add a file that shows the problem so that the devs can backtrace it.

  • Catalog items visible to everyone, purchaseable only for some users

    Me again trying to find a solution to the following problem:
    We need to have some items in our catalog that are visible for every user but only purchaseable via shopping cart / SRM for some authorized users. I couldn't find any possibility in the customizing. So my attempt would be to add an additional attribute in CCM where I can put some kind of flag and then to construct an authorization check based on that flag and on a authorization profile. In case the authorization check fails, the catalog item may not be put in the shopping cart. Preferabily the shopping cart icon should be disabled for such items.
    Did somebody out there already think about something similar or already implemented something like that?
    It would also be a good basis for offering a publicly viewable, browseable catalog for "window shopping", because I also didn't find a way until now to publish the catalog as a standalone web application without shopping cart functionality.
    What do you out there think about it?

    Thanks a bunch for your great help! I could solved the problem and am now able to have some catalog items visible but only purchaseable for authorized users. This is what I've done:
    1. Create a new authorization class (SU21)
    2. Create a new authorization object within this class
    3. Create a new authorization field within this object
    Don't forget to save and quit the SU21 transaction and then reenter it (/nsu21) because only then you'll see your changes / additions... seems to be a "refresh-bug" in SU21.
    4. Create a new role (PFCG) and an authorization profile containing the new authorization object. Assign the values needed.
    5. Create a new attribute in CCM and assigned it to OCI cust_field5 (because this one is of type TEXT50)
    6. Implemented some code in BAdI BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER:

    Interesting observation is, that when issueing the message with type = 'I' it does not condense the message text. With type = 'W' it does...
    I also found out the reason, why the way via ET_SC_MESSAGES will not work: SAP <b>has hard coded</b> somewhere after the BAdI call the message id and message number... so no way to bypass this without a modification.

  • How to set Display Only for some records in CAT2 Worklist

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to modify an attributes for some records in the Worklist of CAT2.
    We have an external system where we book our time. Weekly we import data from that external system into CATSDB using BAPI for every single employee.
    We would like when the user wants to modify his time sheet to be able to add/modify all records except those which were imported from the external system. Which means that those records should be in Display only mode / grayed out / before release.
    Is there any user exit or BADI that could help to modify that attribute and that will be triggered before displaying the Worklist ?

    I've solved the problem.
    First I've added customer field in CI_CATSDB structure and when I am importing the data I am populating that field with 'X', which means that this is record from the external application.
    I've created enhancement implementation in Function group->CATS, screen->2003 MODULE->D2000_MODIFY_LOOP, subroutine->modify_d2000_loop where I am checking the field mentioned above if it is 'X' I am modifying the screnn-output = off.

    refer to 0calmonth), trend of various key figures in the quarters
    I've planned in a specific project revision.
    For example, for revision 062004, the query result is the following:

    can see in the previous report (76% and 65%).
    If you launch the query I see, for the mentionned key figures, the values
    132% and 120% for revision jun-04.

    The problem is that the system do addition of percentage for all quarter
    related to revision 062004 (25113876=132!!!!), while I would see

    I tried to use the variables type replacement path,
    but I don't use it because I'm in a structure.
    Does it exists some tricks that I can use to resolve this
    complicated situation?

    I've doing also the other two checks, but the problem persists.
    I think this isn't a malfunction, it's correct that system aggregates without quarter drilldown.
    But in this case I would prevent it only for this kf.
    Have you got some ideas in the structure selection to limit the exctraction to the last quarter actual?
    Maybe with a variable exit.

    in an Exchange Server 2013 client
    environment, two CAS servers
    and two Mailbox.
    Some users are having trouble in Outlook 2007
    and 2012, which is directly
    requesting the user name and password, not all,

    The Active Directory is ok,
    DNS and also own Exchange
    servers apparently do not see errors.
    Has anyone here ever experienced this?
    How can I solve this problem?

    Hi Ivanildo,
    From your description, only some users have an issue that Outlook prompts for username and password. In your case, I recommend you compare the normal and problematic Outlook settings. Here is the Outlook settings in my environment for your reference:
    1. "Always prompt for logon credentials" isn't checked.
    2. Logon network security using Negotiate Authentication.
    3. "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" is checked.
    4. Use the NTLM Authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange.

    when I add a new line in ALV_Grid and I select the search help, for some fields
    the event "data_changed" has triggered even I have not finished to fill the entire fields on the line, and I don't need this.
    Opposite I have some fields which work fine and when I choose F4 the list of the
    possible values has showed without triggering "data_changed".
    Does anyboby know how is it possible?

    Depending on the requirement
    May be you can open it for a specific Cons Group(assuming User has authorization for that group)  which translates back to opening it for specific user only
    If user needs to work on more than 1 cons groups & has authorization then a step by step approach  will help
