Acrobat 8 Pro and Create PDF from a Website

Hi,
I'm out of sorts. I can't seem to be able to turn a website thread into PDF file using my Acrobat 8 Pro (Mac user)....
The thread I'm trying to save has multiple pages and all Acrobat 8 does is save only the first page and not any of the subsequent pages.... unless I manually go page by page but then I end up with multiple PDF files that I would have to combine and that is just too time consuming --and would have to learn to do that as well.
Here's the link to the website thread I'm trying to convert into PDF:http://tinyurl.com/6guqpf
Could someone please advice what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks,
R

Thanks Paul, I've tried to Save as PDF in the OSX print dialogue box- but it only saves the first page of the thread I'm trying to save (when most threads have more than 1 page, sometimes up to 30 pages each)
This is what my friend wrote and how she found a way to solve her problem.... however I don't have Adobe 5 as she does and I would like to not have to get Adobe 5 but use only Adobe 8....
<<I start Adobe 8.
Select Create PDF from Web Page and paste in:
http://learningcenter.atkins.com/sessions/discussions/index.jsp?courseSessionId=7233&webPa geId=1000007&courseId=3856
When it's made the first page (see attached) [<<=== can't attach here since you need a password to view it.]
I save it and exit.
Then I open Adobe 5 and then I can click on each topic to start capturing the information (meaning all pages to each thread without a problem).
If I click on a topic in Adobe 8 ... it makes a page in a new browser window ... and I'm lost.>>
Do you or anyone else know why this is so? Why Adobe 8 would open a page in a new browser window and Adobe 5 doesn't?
Thanks again,
R

  • Acrobat Pro XI Create PDF from web page will only create first page.

Whether I try from within Acrobat or using the convert button on the Adobe toolbar my PDF cuts off at the bottom of page one and will not create subsequent pages including the rest of the webpage content.  I've played with several settings.  Any idea why?

I think I might have this problem too. Only difference is I am using Acrobat Standard. I have Acrobat Standard X on another pc and it works fine. An example of a web site page is https://connectonline.asic.gov.au/RegistrySearch/faces/landing/SearchRegisters.jspx?_adf.c trl-state=1766qhwwjv_4 I am in Australia. I hope you have access to this page where ever you are. Towards the bottom of the web page, there is a list of 3 documents. On my other pc, I can convert to pdf the whole page but on this pc, I only get one page.

  • Blurry text in Acrobat X Pro when creating PDF from Word 2010

I created a  PDF document from Word 2010 and while most of the pages and formatting looks fine, about 1/5 of the pages have blurry Arial 10 pt text (it looks as if it was Arial bold out of focus). Has anyone experienced this problem?

    Thanks for the reply.
The artifacts scale with the pdf.
Below is the 'p' from "participation" and the 'a' from "Apparatus" at 1600% and 6400%

  • Can Acrobat Pro 9 create pdf forms that are readable by older versions of Reader?

I have just downloaded the Trial of Acrobat Pro 9, and my client now tells me they only have Acrobat 5, and can't open the pdf form I've made in 9.  My form uses text fields and checkboxes, tooltips but no validation or calculation.  Does anyone know if it is possible to save this form in a way that is backwards compatible with Acrobat 5?
Failing this, does anyone know what version of Pro I need in order to add fields and still allow v5 to open the files?
    thanks!

I did not read your original post carefully. As far as saving a form that is readable in AA5, AA5 should be able to read an AA9 form as long as you did not use any of the new fancy things in it. In the meantime, simply save the form using either Reduce File Size or PDF Optimize with the compatibility set to AA5 or AR5. That process will strip any special issues from the PDF I think. At least that is my assumption. I create PDFs that are AA5 compatible all the time by simply having the properties of the Adobe PDF printer set to AR5 compatibility. As far as the form feature, that is really just a matter of being sure you use features that are AA5 compatible as I have suggested and saving, possibly using one of the two options I have mentioned. In most cases, AR5 will be able to read it even if you do not save in that process, but do not get fancy in the structure.

  • Acrobat Pro XI created pdfs won't send in Outlook.  Other pdf makers work.  Help!

When I create a pdf in Acrobat XI Pro and attach it to an email (Outlook 365), the email will not send.  It will sit in the outbox forever generating an error in sending.  When I create a pdf with another program (e.g. pdf Complete), it attaches and sends fine.  I have Norton 365 and turned off Scan Outgoing emails and deactivated the Norton Spam filtering.  This problem started within the last 2 weeks.  Anyone have a solution or have seen this problem?  Thanks up front.  Curt

GoDaddy did not find anything, but they reloaded my hosting account and it is now working.  I had not tried any of my other email addresses, but it seems the problem was limited to one domain name hosting account.  The max file size was 0.5 MB, so that was not an issue.  The limit is about 25 MB.  Thanks to everyone.

  • For some reason I cannot download and view PDFs from a website, It works in chrome, but not Firefox, please help.

When attempting to download a PDF, (detailed bill description) the download appears in the OS X download folder. When attempting to click on that file, a warning comes up that the file is empty.
When I switch browsers and navigate to the same page, (Chrome), the document downloads and I'm able to view the document.
I updated the browser to version 33.1, but that didn't help.

Do you have parental controls enabled on your computer or have other security software that might interfere?

  • Where should I download Acrobat Pro 11 installation file from Adobe website?

    Hi there,
I have a license of Adobe Acrobat professional 11, it is a paper with serial key. Unfortunately I cannot register the key to get installation file download as my previous IT guys had been registered (I guess so)
Is there any way to download installation file and register these key, because it is corporate key.
    Thank you.

You can try http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html. However, I think the version you are looking for is different and it might not work. Worth a try.

  • How do I create a PDF from a website with a paywall?

I'm trying to use the "Create a PDF from the web" function in Adobe Acrobat Pro to create PDFs from a news website that I subscribe to, but whenever I use the tool, it gives me a version that truncates the articles I need — or how the version looks to non-subscribers. Can anyone help me with this? I desperately need a workaround.

In the past, specifying the username and password in the URL in the standard format (http://username:[email protected]@www.example.com) did not work when using the Web Capture plugin in Acrobat. Maybe it changed, but I doubt it...

  • Acrobat Pro 9 - Conversion Error from Word 2007

I do not want to hijack the thread or question raised by another poster a short time ago but I cannot figure out how to correct the below.
    Office 2007 fully updated
    Vista 32-bit
    Acrobat Pro 9.3.4
I have to provide data for someone else to assemble and publish and have been attempting to convert some Word documents nearly full of tables to press quality .pdf.  Whenever I try the conversion, Acrobat Pro seems to re-center the tables both horizontally and vertically forcing the misalignment of the rows of data although any repeating headers remain properly placed.  I can even see the table shift downward slightly when using the Acrobat conversion macro within Word.  It may be adjusting the margins instead of re-centering.
I have tried using the macro within Word 2007, Create PDF within Acrobat Pro and Print to PDF as well as tweaking some of the settings such as lowering resolution and turned off unused settings such as enable fast web view, etc.  The glitch also occurs with High Quality Print.  Standard used to work but after the update to 9.3.4 that conversion shows the same problem.  I even tried saving in Word 97-2003 format with the same results.
The documents in question do have custom page sizes and margins but do not use any abnormal fonts.  I have tried changing the margins but the conversion to .pdf still changes the information and/or magins as described above.  Row height seems to be correctly maintained.
I realize that a knowledgeable user can export the .pdf back into Word or other program but am trying to make it more difficult for someone to edit information which has always had extremely negative consequences in terms of data organization, layout and even integrity.
There has to be something really silly that I am overlooking.
    Thank You

    Thanks Bill.
Sorry for the delay, Verizon dumped its DSL +service to Frontier so we had one of the bi-weekly extended outages.
No changes occurred when I changed the default printer to Adobe PDF.  All of my printers are new enough so that they can handle the current margins so I do not think that they is a problem there but changing the default as suggested by you and Michael eliminates that as the source.
I had previously been able to convert using the built-in converter in Word but was unsure whether or not the result would be press quality and was unable to find this information in my searches.  I retested this and conversion using Word’s built-in converter works without a problem.
The conversion using Combine Miles > Merge Into A Single PDF also works without a problem with the highest quality setting.  It took several hours to run but I guess or assume that it was because of the number of tags as this is a quick setting and therefore I could not disable the tagging which is not needed in this case.
I was also able to convert the same file which had been saved from Word 2007 into the 1997-2003 format as described above but the same problem came up when using the Acrobat macro and Create PDF from File.  I had even created a modified press quality settings to modify settings like disabling autorotate, Object Level Compression, changed the binding option, lowered resolution, bumping the format up to PDF 1.7, etc., but all produce the same result.  I have tried changing the document margins in case the conversion process rounded these but all produce the same artifact/problem except when I use Combine Files or the converter built into Word.

  • Create PDF from a Word document within Acrobat

    Hi!
I am having trouble to create a PDF from a Word document within Acrobat itself, and not by using PDF Maker in Word. When I try to create a PDF using Acrobat, it gives me the choice to choose any Office format file, but Word format doesn't appear. I can convert from an Excel document or a PowerPoint document, but not from a Word document, even if Word 2010 is installed and works perferctly. Why?
I know I can make a PDF in Word itself by printing to the Adobe PDF printer or by using PDF Maker, but I want to resolve the issue in Acrobat that prevents me to select a Word document in the Create PDF dialog window. You can see the dialog box in the screenshot attached.
    Any help would be appreciated.
I am using Acrobat X version 10.1.8 on Windows 7 Home Premium and I have Office 2010 installed (with Word 2010).

Thanks for your reply. PDF Maker works in all of my Office applications. However, in Acrobat, the file formats available for me to create PDF from figure all the Office file formats except the one for Word. This is not normal. At my school, Acrobat X and Office 2007 are installed, and I can use there both PDF Maker in Word and creating PDF from Word document within Acrobat.
So I think maybe there's a key in my Windows registry that is not set correctly? or something like that. I repaired the installation of Office 2010, and I did so for Acrobat X too, but it doesn't help. Any idea of how I can resolve that?

  • Can't create PDF from Word file

I may be missing some functionality or that functionality may not exist.
I'm running Acrobat Pro 9.2 and MS Word 2004 (11.5) on OSX Leopard 10.5.8. I want to create a PDF from a Word file but NOT using the Print dialog. I want to either create it in Acrobat using File > Create PDF > From File or create it from within Word using the Acrobat menu/toolbar. This is so that it will end up as a tagged PDF.
However, I don't have an Acrobat menu or toolbar in Word. I thought Acrobat was supposed to have installed these into MS Office when I installed Acrobat. And when within Acrobat if I select File > Create PDF > From File and choose a Word file, I get a message "Acrobat could not open 'filename.doc' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged". This happens for all Word files.
Looking in Acrobat > About Adobe Plug-Ins... under Convert2AdobePDF it says 'Loaded: no'.
Are these two methods of converting Word files to PDFs something that can only be done in the Windows version of Acrobat? Or is there a plug-in or update I can download to install this missing functionality?
    Thanks for your help,
    Mark

Keep your Office2004. But Office 2008 does have a way to create PDF's from within  the word and excel Programs.
It works better than through the AdobePDF Printer, or through the Apple Print menus save as PDF. (Unless you have X.6.x Snow leopard)
One thing it gets around is a long standing Problem Acrobat has had with word and excel since Word 6.0.1.a/Excel 5.0.1a. Acrobat doesn't know how to interpert Word Page section Breaks. Chopping up a word/excel document in to multiple PDFs that have to be merged back together. MS came up with their own PDF Converter that gets around that problem.

  • Acrobat pro xi - bug creating pdf from website

    Hi there,
I'tried to create a pdf from a website. Problem is, that within a paragraph the last non-breaking space is moved by Acrobat to the start of the next line. The whole paragraph - expect the first line - is intended. Any ideas? Or a bug?
    Thx for feedback!

    Hi networker_mf
Could you please share the following details so that we can help solve the problem?
    1. The OS you are using and its version - Win7/Win8 or Mac OS 10.9/Mac OS 10.8?
    2. Is it 32-bit or 64-bit OS?
    3. Acrobat version you are using 11.0.7 or 11.0.8?
    4. Are you trying to convert from a browser? If yes, then which browser and the browser version?
    5. Is this happening for all websites or specific website? If it is a specific website, could you please share its url?
    Thanks
    Tanvi

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - Create PDF from Word doesn't start

I have Word 2007 and Acrobat 9 Pro installed on Windows 7. I can print a Word file to PDF, but using Create PDF on the Acrobat toolbar does almost nothing. A dialog opens and asks what to name the file, but when I click Save nothing happens. The PDF Maker doesn't even start.
When I go into Acrobat and try to Create PDF from File and select a Word file, I see a message about "starting" but then I get "An unexpected error occurred. PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF."
So I essentially have no PDF and no useful error messages to help me find the source of the problem. I've tried repairing the Acrobat installation, and even uninstalling and re-installing, all to no avail. My IT department has tortured me for a few hours trying all the basic stuff, but nothing has helped. I found this problem description in the Adobe Knowledgebase and I followed the steps there, but still nothing. (Yes, I have my name and initials set in Word's personalization settings. That was a dumb bug, wasn't it?)
Anyone had any ideas? I can create basic PDF by printing, but that doesn't give me a hyperlinked table of contents and other good stuff that I need.
    Thanks for any help!
    Steve

    Hi Bill,
Can you tell me a little more about PDF Maker not working in Word? It worked fine for me on my Windows XP machine with Word 2003 and Acrobat 8 (or maybe 9). It sounds like you've had a different experience. I currently have version 9.3.1, but the updater is running right now to update that. Is there another way to install the updates besides with the built-in updater? I don't seem to have control over the order of the updates when I use it.
I will try turning off features to see what happens. It doesn't look like PDF Maker gets started, though, so I don't know if it's getting far enough to even load the list of what features are on/off.

  • How to remove file path location listings from photos and objects in Acrobat Pro 9.0 PDF?

After converting a windows-based Powerpoint 2007 presentation to an Acrobat Pro 9.0 PDF, the file path location of all photos and objects are shown in a dialogue box when the cursor is moved over the image as seen in this screenshot below. How can I stop this from happening and remove this feature on my pdf documents?

I saw that referenced on a forum, but it does not seem to address the issue I am having.
As per Adobe Acrobat X Standard * What’s new, the equivalent to the "Tools > Protection > Remove Hidden Information" utility found in Acrobat X Standard is the same as the "Document > Examine Document" feature in Acrobat Pro 9.0. Those tools seem to cover meta data, book marks, hidden text, and deleted or cropped content, but not the file path listings that appear on images and objects converted from Powerpoint presentations and other MS Office programs.
I have reviewed the settings used while creating a pdf, and have also tried the “Advanced > Preflight tool”, but could not find anything to apply to the issue at hand.
Thus, this issue has not been resolved, but seems like it should be an easy fix that anyone who publishes pdf documents would want to use to publish clean, professional documents without anyone seeing the file path location of every object and image shown in the document on their hard drive.

  • Create PDF from Scanner using Acrobat X Pro

I am using trial Acrobat X Pro. When I attempt to Create PDF documents from Scanner using Epson Perfection 4490 Photo flat-bed scanner I get pop-up that states Epson cannot be started.  This also occurs when I Create PDF from Scanner > Custom Scan > Scanner when I select Epson Perfection 4490 scanner. My scanner is turned on when I attempt to create PDF from scanner. I have no problem scanning documents and then creating PDF documents from file, but I would like to eliminate this step.  Thanks in advance--any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is a tricky problems as hundreds have had the same problem. Research on the net demonstrated that no one had the solution. Some have even thrown perfectly good scanners away. The problem is most likely  obtaining permission from Win 7 security. Don't bad mouth Adobe Acrobat or your scanner software. This solution will work and has been tested to work. You must be logged in as administrator. This will not help Mac User.
    1. Find the file acroscanbroker.exe
    2. Select properties
    3. Select security tab
    4. Select "users/*********
    5. Edit settings
    6. Full control  Check box
    7. Modify         Check box
    8. Read and Execute    Check box
    9. Read            Check box
    10. Write           Check box
Your scanner should now work and any grayed out menus should come to life.
