Acrobat Pro 9.5.5 - Multiple Page Template question

Hello,
I have a document with 2 pages that I have created as a template so I can try to spawn the pages. I am having problem finding the correct syntax to get both pages of my 2 page PDF to spawn.
This is the Javascript that am using that I found from the planet pdf website.
var expTplt = getTemplate("Client1");
expTplt.spawn(numPages,true,false);
Page 1 of my pdf is template "Client1" and Page 2 of my pdf is template "Client2"
I have tried to use this under the getTemplate command
("Client1","Client2") = this fails
("Client1, Client2") = this fails
("Client1")+("Client2) = this fails
I looked at the Javascript API documentation and I could not figure out what the correct syntax is.
It is possible to have both pages spawn? If I just have the "Client1" in, Acrobat will spawn page 1.
I am at a loss and any help would be appreciated. I am not much of a programmer at all.

I missed your expTplt1 and expTplt2 code, I was using this and it seemed to have worked as well.
var expTplt = getTemplate("Client1");
expTplt.spawn(numPages,true,false);
var expTplt = getTemplate("Client2");
expTplt.spawn(numPages,true,false);

Creating multiple page templates!

I'm trying to create multiple page styles as one template to work in the same way as the Apple supplied templates.
I can create all my page styles as one Pages document and save as a template but the finished template doesn't work in the same way as the Apple templates do e.g. I can not insert pages to a document created from my template. I can only insert sections. When inserting a new section I only have a choice of adding a blank or a text page and not choose one of my created page styles.
I think I'm missing something quite fundemental! I know it can be done because I've downloaded a template from the iCommunity exchange and that worked perfectly.
Any ideas folks?

Before saving your template, you need to "capture" all of the pages that you want to have available to insert.
Format > Advanced > Capture Pages...

Acrobat Pro XI - won't add pages??

Acrobat Pro XI - Windows XP. Try to add pages - just freezes - sometimes asks "Before or after" - but takes 2 minutes for this. Often it just crashes. Anyone else had this?

If you bought your copy of Adobe from an online vendor you may have been given a dodgy ISO to download.
As consumers it is our obligation to RESPECT the EULA of Adobe, not to spend hours of our valuable time PROTECTING it! Lost time to due productivity interruption and wasted time talking to dodgy support staff renders the product excessively overpriced and uneconomical.
Foxit is a great alternative! ...... and there are others too.
Pursuit of monopoly gains rather than the pursuit of technological advancement will make these bloated software companies as redundant as the proverbial dinosaurs if they are not a little more careful and a little less arrogant.

Acrobat Pro V8.1.2 "Invalid Page Range" Error - Rotate Pages

Hi,
I have Adobe Acrobat Professional version 8.1.2. For the last couple of weeks every time I try to rotate a page in any direction I get the following error:
"Invalid Page Range" (OK)
I have tried every combination of options for amount of rotation and page range (all, selected, specify). No matter what I do I get the same message. I have tried this on several different documents both encrypted and unencrypted.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I know this is nearly 4 years late, and I realise this may not have been the cause with the original post, but for the sake of covering this issue for anyone who searches and lands on this page: The most common cause for receiving this "invalid page range" error when attempting to rotate pages is becaue the option for "Even and Odd Pages," "Even Pages Only," or "Odd Pages Only" drop-down choices are inconsistent with the selection. For example, if you're trying to rotate just page 1, but the selection "Even Pages Only" is slected, then you will receive this error. You will find this option in the options window that appears when you click the Rotate command.
Just my two cents after trying to remedy this over and over with users.

Acrobat Pro XI - Inserting a blank page creates a bookmark

When I insert a blank page Acrobat automatically creates a bookmark pointing to that blank page. Is there a way to prevent this behavior?

It's likely a HTTPS site or you have an authenticating proxy server where you are required to enter a password to acess the web page.

Multiple page report question

My client would like to run a report by project. A project can have multiple sub-tasks and each sub-task can have additional tasks. Each additional task has 6 sections on the report which all need to be separated by page breaks. The report
need to separated by the additional tasks so in the example below I would have 18 pages of reports, grouped by Sub task and Additional task. How do I group this report to make it work correctly? Would sub-reports work better - still having trouble
with the grouping issue as well on those.

According to your description, we are not clear about the “6 sections for each Additional task”. Do you mean six data records? If so, based on my understanding, there are three groups and eighteen records in your report. You want to make those records appear
on eighteen separated pages, right?
In Reporting Service, we can add a page break to groups within data regions to control the amount of information on each page. In your scenario, you should add page break to group “Sub task”, group “Additional Task” and details. As we tested in our environment,
add page break to these records, the report appears in eighteen pages. Please refer to steps below:
1.On Group Properties of Details1, choose “Between each instance of a group” option on Page Breaks page. Please refer to screenshot below:
Choose same option on Group Properties for group “Month” and “Name”.
2.Click drop-down button next to Column Groups, then choose Advanced Mode.
3.Click on Static under Row Groups, set RepeatOnNewPage as True in Tablix Member Properties.
4.Click Preview, the results before and after adding page break look like below:

Multiple related templates question

I have a template say Template A. I would like to create a sub template called Template B. Template B has all the format of Template A but also contains a different set of format within its Template A shell.
Is it possible to nest Template B within Template A? Whenever I change Template A I would like all pages to update including those that are spawned by Template B. Whenever I change Template B I would like just those pages spawned from Template B to change?

Yes. And I swear to you that this will NOT make your life any easier! Why not just use CSS to change the layout on the pages instead?

Acrobat Pro 9 crashes when OCR more than 50 pages

Can someone tell me why Acrobat Pro 9 would crash on page 50 of large docs?

I don't have a solution (other than breaking up the document in ~ 50 page segments and insterting them all later), but I also have this issue on 2 windows 7 machines.

Acrobat Pro 8 will only print first page of pdf at 11x17

Hello all. When I try print 11x17 from Acrobat Pro 8 only the first page prints. I have tried several printers and all do the same. I have tried entering page numbers rather than leaving it on print all. I have tried printing 11x17 from other applications and it works fine. And I am able to print 8.5x11 from Acrobat just fine. I've tried searching all sorts of forums and I cannot seem to find any information on this particular problem. Suggestions anyone? I need to get this resolved...it is highly annoying since we print many 11x17 documents on a daily basis.

Do I have to install Adobe Acrobat Pro to edit PDF files?

I am subscribed to Adobe PDF Pack.
I want the ability to drag and drop to insert, delete, and arrange pages. So it appears I need Adobe Acrobat Pro. Is that correct?
If I upgrade to Adobe Acrobat Pro, do I have to install anything on my PC? Or can I simply drag and drop to insert, delete, and arrange pages online (in my browser) using the same login I use now for Adobe PDF Pack?
I don't want to install anything. Hence my question.

Yes, You would need Adobe Acrobat Pro to insert, delete, arrange pages.
Yes, You would need to Instal the Acrobat software on your pc as Acrobat software won't work with your browser.

Export Antialiased JPEG from Acrobat Pro?

Hi all:
I noticed today that when I open a PDF in Acrobat Pro 9 and save the page as a JPEG image, there is no ability to save the JPEG of the page with antialiasing. This seems odd and limits the usefulness of the command to me.
I have been in a few situations lately where I need to send someone a JPEG to use for web purposes, but I didn't have access to Illustrator to export an antialiased JPEG from the original art. I can't understand why you would want to export only aliased JPEGs of Acrobat PDF pages........anyone? Am I simply missing the option box during the Save command?...

I'm talking about saving a VECTOR file that is a PDF into an anti-aliased JPEG. Sometimes, you want to save a JPEG of a vector PDF file that you did not create and for which you do not have the original.
For example, to save an entire 200-page PDF of technical drawings which you find on the web as a series of numbered, antialiased JPEGs automatically, in order to place them in a PowerPoint show. That's not "easy enough" in a "graphics package."

Thank you for your insights!Choice depends on how you create your global navigation items & how often you change them. Assume as you mention pageskins you're using Portal 10.1.4?
If in comparison with the expected lifetime of your pageskin your global navigation content is static e.g. links to company homepage, how to contact us, about us etc then simply include it as part of the pageskin HTML. 10.1.4's path URLs makes this simple. If they change very quickly then generate them as part of a page template: you then have all the features of Portal to create & change your navigation items as you wish without needing programming help. However we've found this can slow down your page delivery speed if the menus are complex.
Another approach is to call a PL/SQL package/procedure from your pageskin e.g.

</oracle>
would execute Procedure my_proc contained in package my_package and schema my_schema, passing the parameters page group ID (site ID) and page ID. The schema, package & procedure should be executable to portal_public user. You would have to write a package to drive dropdown or expanding sidebar navigation menus etc and this would have to access the Portal metadata repository if you wished the navigation menu to update itself as you change your site.

Mac using Acrobat Pro v9 can't connect to shared review hosted on Sharepoint server.

A person at our company has a Mac with Acrobat Pro v9 and can't connect to our shared review hosted on a Sharepoint server. The shared review is initiated from a PC using Acrobat Pro X.
They can access/login to the Sharepoint server via Safari on the same computer both inside the company and from outside.
They used to have it working just fine for months, then suddenly (recently) it stopped working and it just keeps saying that it can't connect.
When trying to connect, Acrobat doesn't ask for credentials. I've tried hunting down where those credentials are stored to try and delete them to force it to ask again, but no luck there either.
I also have a Mac (but I'm running Acrobat Pro XI and now DC) and I can access the same shared review that doesn't work for them. And I can't seem to break it for me (as an effort to figure out their problem).
Any helpful guidance on how to get things back on track would be greatly appreciated. My head hurts from beating it against my desk. :-|
