'Activate Application' tries to invoke iPhone/iPad simulator app
Hi,
I am having a desktop app and I use *activate application "xyz.app"* to invoke the application. It works fine until I have the same app's iPhone/iPad simulator version in the same machine.
I get a crash report and it will show up a path where I need to delete iPhone/iPad version.
/System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/UIKit Referenced from: /Users/bdcuser/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/3.2/Applications/77BC111F-9623-45J6-A360-FBF46cABk2C8/xyz.app/xyz
Note:
I have the same app name for desktop, iPhone and iPad.
Is there anything can be done?

Try using bundle identifier or full path instead of name to refer to a specific application.
E.g.
application id "com.abc.xyz"
application "/Applications/abc/xyz.app"

Unless you have the contacts backed up somewhere, you won't be able to restore them.
You and your son should have your own iCloud accounts then you can keep your own contacts and calendars etc and avoid deleting each others. -
I have tried 3 brousers, iphone, ipad, and 2 seperate PC's, and can not access email on the cloud
Unfortunately, Apple does not yet allow merging of Apple ID's. if you were once using [email protected] as your Apple ID then there is no way to link that ID with the new one to avoid losing the previous data under that old ID. You will have to either go back to using the old ID to save the old data or just keep both, which you arfe allowed to do.

Does anyone know if you can use the Xcode iPhone/iPad Simulator for Mac with Indesign and DPS to view on rather than the Indsign viewer? I have seen people like Colin Fleming look to using it in some of his videos on DPS.
One downside to the Indesign view is that it can show things that don't work on an iPad becasue they do work in indesign and it can be confusing at times, especially for new users.
If you can, any help, suggestion, links to how to's would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible to open a PDF from the notes section in the iPhone/iPad calendar app?
If it's not possible, do you know if there is a third party app that can accomplish this? I am an administrative assistant and it would be very helpful to attach PDF documents to my boss' calendar in Outlook so then he could access it from his iPhone/iPad at meetings. As of now, I email him the required PDF documents before his meetings so he can then access them using iBooks. Any advice would be most appreciated.
Not directly as an attachment, but you can put a URL. A web link.
E.G., a dropbox file link might be quick and easy. It's how I would do it. -
I have the Olive Tree Bible Study app, which is one of the best tools I have ever used for study and within the app I purchased several resources/concordances that are very useful (plus they had up in the wallet, but very worth it)
I had it on my iPad 2 and when I went to back it up on my iMac, the app doesn't populate in the apps tab. This also applies to some of my games but I'm not that worried about losing those.
I am trying to get those particular apps on my iPad Air.
Has anyone else come across an issue like this?

Because you already own them you can download them again for free ... provided that you are using the same Apple ID as you used when you originally purchased them.
In fact when I look up the Olive Tree app, it seems like the main app is free in any case.
Once you are in the app look for some option to restore purchases. -
Albums in Aperture 3 not showing upon IPhone/IPad "Photos" App

Thanks to your question. Currently Bizbox does not support of push notifications. This feature is something we are looking to add to future releases. I will keep you informed when and if this feature becomes available. At best the app would support "Local notifications" as "Push Notifications" would require installation of software on the client system. Staying code free on the client system is in keeping with our main goal.
Additionally if this notification feature is to work in the future and through VPN, the VPN solution would have to be supported by the Iphone (ie. Cisco VPN technology). The reason is again our thinking is that only "local notifications" would be supported by our applications.

[iPhone/iPad] Newspaper app that reads from PDFs on a server
I've just been asked to build an app for iOS that reads our local newspaper. I'm a newcomer to developing iOS apps, but I'm a quick study and I hear around a lot that it's pretty simple. So accordingly, I'd like it to be as simple as possible, no bells and whistles, just straight to the point.
I've already done some basic research on developing iOS apps, so I kind of understand how it works. I'm just posting here to get some answers from actual people instead of doing an aimless, mindless search on the Internet.
Here's what I want it to do:
• Use the same log in credentials from the parent website to gain access to the iOS version of the newspaper.
• Display a scalable digital version of the newspaper pages (like a PDF) so that it's readable on both iPhone and iPad.
• Access the website server (where the PDFs for the pages already are) to retrieve the PDFs and display them.
Now, I know some about putting a simple app together, but I've never dabbled in retrieving and using data from the Internet, much less PDFs. The only way to read the paper online is to read those PDFs, we don't use RSS or anything.
I know it's probably a lot to think about, but I guess I'm asking how simple or difficult it would be to develop this kind of app, and if it's simple, I'd like some pointers. Thank you in advance.The simplest option is to just have a special login page and navigation on your website that you can access directly from Safari, or through a UIWebView and let the user view the pdf's. You may not even need anything custom if the screen flow of you web site is the same as what you want from your app.
As you become more sophisticated, you can consider downloading the PDF's for local caching and then displaying (if that is even necessary), creating a login screen in your app, and making a webservice call to authenticate, etc. -

If itunes stops carrying the app or the developer pulls it from the itunes store, then it will not be available in icloud.
If you sync your ipod to your computer and the app is not on the computer, then it will be deleted from the iphone. -
In Mac the forms are not integrated as one window, they appear and disappear intermittently. There is no option to configure it. In the iPhone-iPad RDP app, there is no problem with

Did you find everything working normally?
If you re RDPing then there is manual configuration available, URI scheme which you can try as beneath,
