thanks

what does the client side need. Do they need a kms key? how do I check
on the KMSclient, and/or on the KMShost, to check, you can use:
cscript slmgr.vbs /dli all > c:\kmsout.txt
(this will output all possible Windows and Office licenses to the output file, and shows the status of each)
When you install Windows or Office by using VL media, by default these are pre-configured with KMSclient product key.
In case the machine may have been reconfigured with a different product key, and you find that you need to reconfigure back to a KMSclient product key, the Office KMSclient product keys are here:

  • Is CS3 Design Standard compatible with Windows 7 64-bits and MS Office 2010 Pro Plus?

    Hi,
I have been googling around to see if Adobe CS3 Design Standard is compatible with Windows 7 64-bits with MS Office 2010 Pro Plus, but I couldn't find a decent answer.
If anyone here has any idea on this, please let me know.
As far as i know Adobe CS3 comes with Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro which is not compatible with MS Office 2010, so I am sort of worried that I will need to upgrade my CS3 to CS6.
    Any advises are welcome.
    Thanks.

I don't know if Acrobat 8 is Win 7 64 bit compatible or if it's supported. The rest of the apps should be fine.
But I do think you'll have issues with Office 2010 files being placed into InDesign.
Moving to CS6 is something you should be thinking about very soon. You only get upgrade pricing until the end of the year, but I highly recommend taking a look at Creative Cloud. At $29.99/month for the first year it's a bargain.

  • Upgrade Office 2010 Standard to Office 2010 Pro Plus using Config.xml

    Hello,
I am upgrading Office 2010 Standard to Office 2010 Pro Plus. But after using the below config  pro plus did get installed but both versions of Office 2010 ( Stand and Plus ) show up on the machines. I want only Office Pro plus to appear.
The second issue is that even after uninstalling  Office 2010 Standard from the Control panel the Office shows activation of both ( Going to --File ---Help)
How can I edit this config.xml to remove office 2010 Standard first and then upgrade to Office 2010 Pro Plus?

    Hi,
Here is not a Config.xml solution, but we can use it as a workaround, basically automate the uninstallation of Office 2010, reboot the computer and then deploy Office 2010. You may find the following article useful if you need more info on that.

  • I can't open Adobe files and keep getting this message: "Adobe failed to connect to the DDE server" - anyone got a fix for this? I'm Windows 7, 64bit running Office 2010 Pro Plus - anyone got a fix for this?

Forgot to mention I'm using Firefox V.4

    Hey Jorge,
I've checked Reader, and there are no updates. I've run a Windows version compatibility test - although it only goes up to Vista, and not Windows 7.
Anyway, it appears I can now open Adobe files - but I've found another issue: when I right-click on a file and scroll down to the 'send to email recipient', it doesn't automatically open an Outlook email with the file as an attachment - in fact it doesn't open Outlook at all, let alone automatically?
    Any clues?

  • Activate Office 2010 Professional Plus with MAK

How do I activate a new computer to download Office Professional Plus 2010? I have an MAK but I do not know how to use it. Thanks.

There are two activation methods for MAK:
MAK Independent Activation: Each computer individually connects to Microsoft via the web or telephone to complete activation.
    MAK Proxy Activation:
This method uses the Volume Activation Management Tool (VAMT). One centralized activation request is made on behalf of multiple computers with one connection to Microsoft online or by telephone.
Note: VAMT enables IT professionals to automate and centrally manage the volume activation process using a MAK.
Each MAK has a predetermined number of allowed activations, based on your Volume Licensing agreement. To increase your MAK activation limit, please contact your
    Microsoft Activation Center.

  • Office 2010 Pro Plus License Terms

I have a copy of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 I obtained through a community college I was attending at a discounted rate. The copy came with 3 discs. I'm trying to find the relevant license terms on how many devices it can be installed on, but
can't seem to find the right page.
    On the disc it lists:
    End Item Part No. 79P-03211
and underneath there is a barcode and below that it lists X16-52210
On the front of the disk it is also printed "All use subject to volume license agreement. Do not make illegal copies of this disc. Not for retail or OEM Distribution. Not for resale."
I tried using http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/intellectualproperty/UseTerms/default.aspx but it doesn't seem to have the right options.

That's going to be difficult to answer, since it depends on the type of agreement your college had/has, and which optional features the college selected at the time, plus there are some wacky conditions, e.g. if you graduated or not...
there are some documents here, but you may find it difficult to know which applies, without knowing exactly what contract the college had at the time.

For company/corporate scenarios, there is a similar offering known as HUP (Home Use Program) for employees, and this offers installation on two devices/computers. Perhaps your educational benefit might work the same way.

  • Deploying Office 365 Pro Plus on Systems with Existing Office 2010 / 2013 Installations

We're preparing to deploy Office 365 Pro Plus with our existing SCCM 2012 infrastructure. Many of our clients currently have Office 2010 or Office 2013 installed on them. What is the default setup behavior for installing Office 365 Pro Plus on these systems?

    Hi,
As a supplement to what you have got, Click-To-Run is a Microsoft virtualization technology which provides an isolated environment for Office to run on your computer. It allows you to run the latest version of Office side-by-side with an earlier version
of Office that is already installed on your computer.

  • Outlook 2010 Pro Plus not showing Retention/Archive Policies only on Terminal Server

I have Office 2010 Pro Plus (Terminal Server License) installed on Remote Desktop Services 2008 R2 and running Outlook 2010 against Exchange 2010 SP1 with Enterprise CALS for all users.  If I run Outlook locally on a PC (not TS Client)
I have apply folder retention policies and archival policies no problem but if I open Outlook on Terminal Server I cannot.  Everything is greyed out.  This is the exact same version of Outlook, just different keys but I can't apply any policies for
    the Terminal Server users.
So, to clarify, on a regular PC, I can click an Outlook folder, click on the "Policies" button on the ribbon and have retention policies as well as Online Archive settings as I should but when I use the same version on Terminal Server
the Policies button is greyed out completely and cannot set.  I am NOT using auto-archive settings and not using PST files, only Online Archive.

  • Missing mail when trying to access Outlook 2007 archives with Outlook 2010 Pro Plus

I recently upgraded a user's laptop and it is currently running Office 2010 Pro Plus.  On their desktop they were running Office 2007 Pro and they recently archived messages in Outlook on the desktop but they don't show up on the user's laptop
accessing that same archive file. I've tried shutting down Outlook on the desktop, ran the inbox repair tool and I even tried upgrading the desktop to Office 2010 as well with no luck.  This PST files are located on my server and they are backed
    up regularly.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
You should not use Network Stored PST files, .pst files are used to let users maintain a copy of their messages on their local computers. Please refer to these articles for more information:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297019
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2007/01/21/network-stored-pst-files-don-t-do-it.aspx
Instead of using a Network Stored PST file, you can configure Microsoft Outlook in Cached Exchange Mode. This caches the Exchange Server mailbox data in a local Offline Folders (.ost) file. This configuration lets the remote client work successfully even
without being connected to the server.

  • "An Office 2003 installation on your computer is corrupted and setup cannot continue" error on Office 2010 Pro install

I am currently trying to install Office 2010 Pro Plus onto my machine that has Access 97 and Access 2003, Visio 2003, Excel 2003, PowerPoint 2003, and Word 2003 installed. I need to keep the previous versions of Office installed as they are used for development
work. When I try installing Office 2010 I've stopped with the following error message: "An Office installation on your computer is corrupted and setup cannot continue. Remove or repair the Office 2003 product and re-run setup." I can't remove and
repair doesn't seem to do anything. Most posts suggest removing previous office versions or deleting/altering the MS Office registry keys (which would damage the previous versions of Office). Is there a solution to install Office 2010 independently of any
    other version of Office installed?

I figured out a method to finally install Office 2010 bypassing the error stated in the title, by manually removing all the keys that included the term "Office 2003" from the Windows registry.
I share my fix with more details and pictures step by step here :
    Link
Please note that you need to be very careful when manually editing the Windows registry as it may cause problems to your operating system and even cause a massive failure requiring you to re-format your disk.
Feel free to use my fix at your own risk. I will not be held responsible for any damage caused or data loss.

  • Deploying Office 365 Pro Plus using System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1

    Hello,
I am trying to deploy Office 365 Pro Plus to my client machines (more than 100) via. System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1. It will use one administrator account for installation. But as per the licensing, we can install Office for up to 5 PCs/Macs
and 5 more Windows tablets/iPads with one Office 365 Pro Plus licenses. If this is the case, then I cannot install Office 365 Pro Plus with one admin account to my 100+ machines, as it will violate the licenses of O365 Pro Plus.
So, what is the alternative approach?
    Thanks
    Raj

If this is the case, then I cannot install Office 365 Pro Plus with one admin account to my 100+ machines, as it will violate the licenses of O365 Pro Plus.
    Hi,
    this is incorrect.
There is no licensing restriction/control for the *installation* account at all, the licensing is related to who is *using* Office365ProPlus *after* installation is performed. This control, is implemented by the Microsoft Account, or OrgID, used to sign-in/activate
    to Office365 when *using* Office365ProPlus.

  • Offline Activation issues with Office 2010 Professional Plus

I have a volume license for 17 seats for MS Office 2010 Professional Plus, along with a MSDN license which authorizes us to have 50 seats.
I have activated the software offlline via the telephone.  After about six months the licenses go inactive and requires me to reactivate the product again.  This has happened serveral times.
The network consisting of three servers: One Domain Controller, two member servers one of which has Exchange 2010 and the other is the endpoint management secrutiy server.  There are 17 clients with windows 7.  The network does
    not connect to the web.
I have been on the phone with support but the level of the help desk has not been very informative.  In the 90 minutes that I was on the phone, I was directed to go to various websites, i.e. volume licensing ...  these sites were not
helpful. Toward the end of the phone support I was finally transferred to a U.S. representative.  This individual stated that I would need to have a support contract in place prior to recieving help for a product that should install and be activated without
    an issue.
I do not have a KMS, I'm completely isolated from the Internet and would like some direction on this matter.

Hi, this is a public/community forum, not an official support channel, but we can try to help you.
VL editions of Office can be activated by either KMS product key (the default pre-embedded key) or by MAK product key.
KMS doesn't require any kind of web connection at any time (you could activate your KMS host by telephone activation. Your KMS clients then contact your KMShost only, via your internal network. No internet connection is needed)
Or, you can use MAK. MAK requires you to "install" your CSVLK product key in each computer (overwriting the pre-embedded KMSclient pkey) and then activate each computer. You can activate MAK installations via internet or telephone.
Typically, once an MAK pkey is activated, it remains activated, unless the computer is subjected to "hardware changes" or some form of data restore or recovery.
Although you don't have KMS implemented, you do seem to have enough computers (the minimum is 5) to consider KMS.
6 months is an interesting milestone. 180 days is exactly the timeframe for a KMSclient to become unlicensed if it been unable to contact a KMShost.
Perhaps you could check the current licensing configuration/status on a couple of computers, to confirm their current situation?
    - on a computer, open an elevated (run as admin) CMD console
    - execute: cd \Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14
    (or on a 32bit OS, execute: cd \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14
    - execute: cscript ospp.vbs /dstatusall > c:\osppOUT.txt
This will produce the text file, showing all *possible* Office licenses, and the currently installed one should show as "Licensed".
You can post the results back here for us to review for you. (there is only a partial pkey displayed, so nothing sensitive will be revealed)

  • Activating Microsoft Office 2013 Pro Plus? Volume licensing needed?

    Hello,
I have unique scenario in my company where we need to install office 2013 pro plus on 10 hard drives. Each hard drive has its own windows 7 operating system. Due to security reasons, the setup consists of one computer tower (with no primary hard drive) that
has a slot in tray for one hard drive. These hard drives are accessed one at a time. There are not set up on a network and do not have internet access. What would be the best method of installing office? Of course we could install 10 copies of office on the
10 hard drives, but this would be expensive. I keep hearing about KMS (Key management service) and MAK (multiple activation key) which I believe would require volume licensing. Is this a possible cheaper alternative? Would we need to set up a server to manage
    the keys?
    Any feedback is appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi,
A volume licensing aggreement is the best plan for your case, I think.
Multiple Activation Key (MAK) activation is used for one-time activation through Microsoft hosted activation services, either via the Internet or by telephone. Each MAK has a predetermined number of allowed activations, this number is based on volume licensing
    agreements.
KMS is a client-server model in which the client requests activation from a computer serving as the KMS host. KMS activation requires TCP/IP connectivity between the clients and the KMS host. By default, KMS host uses DNS to publish the KMS service. It works
best with more than 50 computers.
So I think the best choice for your scenario is MAK as your setup is not on a network and only need 10 copies of Office. Also, with MAK, you don't need a server to "manage the keys" as the MAK key need to be added at installation time.
