Activation Error in ODS
HI Gurus,
I have a typical scenario.
I am loading data into ODS.The data loads get completed but activation is failing.Giving no error.
At the same time data is getting reportable, but when I check into the active data table, the number of records is 0.
I tried to force it green so that I can carry out manual activation,but the status(both QM & Technical) is not changing.
I tried deleting & loading the data again.NO success.Is it some BASIS issue?If yes, then plz let me now the probable solution.
Plz help.

when you go for manual activation
Go to ODS Manage screen
Click on activate button
you will get the POPUP
where you have the Button Job Overview
Select that and look for the Job log
try to find at which step it is getting failed
if you can solve it
Please past the Log here
we will try to provide the solution

I created a generic extractor in R3 with a generic delta. In BW, my delta init loads with no errors but when I activate the data in the ODS, I get the activation error.

I searched SDN but didn't found anything, and I searched help but only found general information about 0recordmode.
Can someone provide a solution and/or some more detailed information about the error message?

When you have created the InfoSource for the generic datasource, have you added field 0RECORDMODE to the InfoSource? When loading data to a ODS, 0RECORDMODE is essential.
The InfoObject is usually mapped to ROCANCEL (Indicator: Cancel Data Record) field of the extractor. This field is usually present in Standard extractors. But even if the field is not present in your extractor, add it to InfoSource Communication structure and leave it unmapped in transfer rules.
I think this might solve the problem.

Activation error in ODS 0FIGL_O02
Hi,
I am facing one problem in my BIW that daily the activation of the ODS 0FIGL_O02 is failing. Daily I am activating the data using the program RSODSACT1.
It is included in the process chain.
Please help me to remove my manual work for activation tha data of the ODS.

You can give this a try:
uncheck the "Activate ODS object data automatically" setting in DSO, and include the DSO data activation step in the process chain. this will the serailize the process and hope fully solve your issue.

Just rerun the Activation Job Since its succesfull up to loading . If not just make
the Qm status in to manuall red though its in red and then just reschedule the
INfopak .Be fore rescheduling make just have a check reg RFC connectivity from u
r Basis Team.

ODS activation error after the structure change

I am getting a short dump with " "DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_RSQL" CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DBC " error when I am trying to activate an ODS after changing its structure. Do I need to change any setting before loading the data in to the ODS after adding few more fields to it. Exact error says

ThanksThe above-described symptom is due to a program error during the transfer of error messages. The problem can occur, for example, if a hierarchy is activated during the activation of an ODS object.
If the indicator 'BEx Reporting' is set for the ODS object, entries are created in the SID tables of characteristics involved during the activation of requests for this ODS object. Newly-created SID values must then be inserted into hierarchy tables. This is not possible for reasons of consistency if a hierarchy is activated at this time. The RRHI_CHAVLS_REQUEST_TO_HIERA function module is used for inserting newly-created SID values in hierarchies.
To simplify the search for the cause of the problem, additional error messages are now displayed in the monitor. If the problem is triggered, for example, by the simultaneous activation of a hierarchy, the error message RH 14 is issued. As described in note 717967, this error message contains the name of the affected hierarchy. If the activation of an ODS object is cancelled due to a serious error, this now also causes additional entries in the log of transaction SM21 (Syslog). These entries start with the character string '> RSDRO':.

base on that note, the activation error coz dependent object(s)-infoobjects not active, to eliminate the error we have to first have all the objects active. you may try in business content installation, collection mode 'manual', put 0CFM_O01, grouping 'only necessary objects', right click 0CFM_O01 and choose 'install all below' then 'install'. hope this helps.

Reason and Prerequisites
A characteristic involved is active but it is using new or inactive attributes.
Characteristics involved are all characteristics used in the ODS object.
Solution
Check all characteristics involved as described in the following:
Check the Compounding and Attributes tabs in the characteristics maintenance.
All characteristics here must be active. This is displayed by a green icon.
If this is not the case for a characteristic involved (a gray icon is displayed on one of the two tabs), activate the characteristic involved. This also activates the inactive dependent characteristics.
After you have checked and repaired all the characteristics involved as described above, the loading/maintenance of master data should work again. -
ABAP/4 processor: RAISE_EXCEPTION error while ODS Activation

ODS Activation Error:characteristic 0CALMONTH is not plausible
HI,All:
i have upload data from flat file to ODS successfully,but i am get following error when i try to activation data in this ODS.
- Error getting SID for ODS object ODS_DX01
- Value '000120' of characteristic 0CALMONTH is not plausible
- Error when assigning SID (details in long text)
- Activation of data records from ODS object ODS_DX01 terminated
How should i get rid of this error. Any idea would be appreciated.

We had a problem during ODS activation, could you please help?
We are on BW 3.1
Activation of an ODS failed with the message, "Fiscal year variant MC is not maintained for calendar year 2009u201D, u201CError getting SID for ODS object ZODS_O02u201D and u201CError when assigning SID: Action VAL_SID_CONVERT table 0FISCPER."
The expected data for 2009 didn't arrive, so the activation step in the proces chain has failed.
What I've done is, just deleted the request from the ODS.
But while this job was running, there was a short dump, and the same job was shown as cancalled under SM37. Though the request was successfully deleted from the ODS, it is showing as cancelled in SM37.
I've given below the log details of the job.

As an help i suggest you can first check the corresponding message for the "Message type X" in transaction se91.
Follow the below procedure for the same :
1.Execute ST22 > Double click on any entries
2.Go to Source Code Extract
3.Locate u201C>>>>u201D and you will see Message
i.e Message X041 (XX) in this example.
- XX is the message class
- 041 is the message class no. in the example above.
4.Now open SE91.Enter the details we found from Source
Code extract in ST22.Click Display
5.Find the corresponding message.
May be the message could much more elaborate your problem so it could be handeled properly.

We are using BW3.5 with Oracle 9.2 on AIX 5.3 box, from the past few days we are getting DBIF_REPO_SQL_ERROR short dumps frequently while activating data in ODS.

Listener is working fine, Checked the RFC connections, Tried restarting the system, tried adding space to the TEMP tablespace as well as PSAPBWP, but they didn't work.
Please help.The problem got solved as there were DB errors like ORA-01114: IO error writing block to file 256 (block # 126218).
Here the point to be notes is file 256. The number greater than 255 indicates a temp datafile. This indicates an issue with PSAPTEMP tablespace. When checked on PSAPTEMP tablespace, one of the filesystems where one temp data file sitting was full. The filesystem was 100% full. This will prevent the temp datafile to grow and shrink as and when required.
So, adding more space to the filesystem solved the problem.

I go to BW1CLNT100 datasoucres ,I not finded 80FIAP_O03 datasoucre, But I goto bw prd BI datasoucre, I found 80FIAP_O03 datasoucre.
I think loss 80FIAP_O03 datasoucre for BW1CLNT100 source system, because I am't delete Roules on the 0FIAP_O03 infosoucre for delete sap soucre systems.

You should generate the export data source for 0FIAP_O03 again, if there is still a problem please goto
RSA1 > SOURCE SYSTEMS > and right click on the relevant source system, find the datamart application component and
right click on this to replicate the datasource.

Process Chain: upload from PSA after activation of another ODS
Hi gurus,
i have a follow problem: for upload of ITM ODS i must before upload the HDR ODS. For the performance optimization of related process chain, the process:
1) upload of HDR ODS from 2LIS_02_HDR
2) upload of ITM ODS from 2LIS_02_ITM (ONLY PSA)
are PARALLEL process.
After activation of HDR ODS and upload of ITM PSA, with AND process, i upload data from ITM PSA to datatarget, but there is an process chain error:
"No ods activation process can be in front of process PSA read and update data target in the chain" !!
Could you help me?

Iam getting activation error (Start Routine) while activating the transformation for the 2LIS_03_BF (Material Movements) data source for 0IC_C03 INFO CUBE. Iam getting an error for the Start Routine and the error message is as follows:

Scenario: As per my client requirment i have tried to add on info object in to the existing info cube i.e., Movement Type which is an existing field in the info source and the data source and i have tried to map the same in the transformations between the info source and the info cube and activated the transformation. Then iam getting the above said start routine error, so to avoid this i have removed that object i.e., movement type from the info cube and tried to reactivate the transformations still iam getting the same routine error.
Please suggest me th approach to resolve this issue.

Using Acrobat 7 and adding a coment using the Text Tool. When printing the document (14 pages) an extra page is printed after each document page. This extra page say, "No cpomment on this page." Any know how to prevent the extra pages from printing?
