Activation of Additional Account Assignments for Asset Accounting

Hi,
I am facing the problem while running depreciation run through AFAB in that the system giving the error message i.e the cost center I3010 is not relevant to business area 7211 but it is 7210.But when I check Cost center(I3010) Master Record it has been correctly assigned with as system saying with 7210 Business Area and not 7210.Eventhough I assgined correct business area in CCTR Master Record why this error is still coming.
And in the error help it is saying that you should make explicit assignment with 7210 business area and for this you have to make business area field as a readily input in cutomizing. After that I check in Asset Accounting additional account object I dont have business area at all.
My questions ?
1.To rectify this where I have to make this BA field as ready input in customizing ?
2.If it is yes in Additional Accounts Objects in AA how I can define newAdd Acc Obj in customizing ? Is it possible ?
Can you plz explain with clear answer becz we are trying since pasy 2 days but the results are hopeless.
Waiting for quick reply.

Hi E Pericherla
Have you checked up the relevant Asset master, regarding Cost Center and BA Assigned there.

    Hi,
You need to map the control account of that vendor(business partner).
->Open the respective Business Partner master data
    ->Under accounting tab
    ->Under General tab
->Control accounts (will be indicated with ... button),on opening this
->You will be prompted to map the control accounts
                                             ^ Down Payment Payables
                                             ^Assets Account
                                             ^Open Debts
Here you need to map the Asset account which also must be a control account(control account option should be checked in the chart of accounts).
Pls do check in the test system, understand the behavior of this account by booking ap invoice and payment, then proceed in the live system.
    Hope this is helpful

    Hi All,
When i tried to raise A/P invoice for an Asset Item the system is raised the following error"  why?

    thanks

    hi Giri,
When you choose from list against the Asset Account in the business partner master data it is only displaying the Trade Creditors Account domestic and foreign acounts only.  which one to choose in this case?  i presume trade creditors account is the one to choose.  but what is the logic for asset items to choose this Trade Creditors Account?   Or  else can we create a separate control account for purchasing the Asset items?  what is the logic again here choosing a separate account through option create new ?

1st check in OME9 t.code for account assignment A, the selection of 2(Multiple account ***)in field ID: AcctAssgt Scrn and Distribution field as 1.

Does anybody know if Oracle provide such a product, or is it a third party solution that interfaces with Oracle? If you have any info on this, I would be grateful
    Thanks

First check if you can add the function associated with the tools option to "responsibility exclusions" using sysadmin.
    See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/A60725_05/html/comnls/us/fnd/fndscrsp.htm
If not, then consider writing a personalization (one for each tools>menu option)
The personalization will fire on the "special7" (or whichever the number is).
In the actions, you should display an error message that says "This option is not available". That will prevent the user from opening the form.

  • Multiple Account Assignments for purchase/framework requisition

    Hi,
Multiple Account Assignments for purchase/framework requisition:
The actual MM configuration is a single account assignment in the purchase requisition (although the option of multiple account assignments exist for trips). What are the implications at GR posting? Assuming that we could use the option for quantity and percentage distribution.
    Regards
    Suresh

    Hi
    Multiple account assignment:
    <b>Specifying Multiple Account Assignment</b>
This procedure allows you to apportion the costs associated with a PR/PO item (among several cost centers, for example).
With multiple account assignment, the account assignment data entered takes the form of individual account assignment items.
    <b>Prerequisites</b>
When specifying multiple account assignment for an item, you must consider the following points:
1.How is the net value of a PO item to be distributed (apportioned) among the individual account assignment items?
The costs can be allocated on a quantity or percentage basis (for example, 10 pieces or 10% of the order value to cost center 100).
2.How are the costs to be apportioned if only a part of the ordered quantity has been delivered and invoiced?
The partial invoice amount can be distributed proportionally, i.e. evenly, among the account assignment items of a purchase order.
The partial invoice amount can be distributed on a "progressive fill-up" basis, i.e. the invoiced amount is allocated to the individual account assignment items one after the other. Only when account assignment item 1 has been charged in full is item 2 charged; only when account assignment item 2 has been charged is item 3 charged, and so on. This process continues until the total invoice value of the PO item is reached.
    <b>Procedure</b>
1.When entering an item, specify the account assignment category for the desired item on the item overview screen.
    2.Choose Item -> Account assignments.
    The account assignment window appears.
3.Enter the account assignment data for the first account assignment item.
Choose Change display to call up the multiple account assignment screen.
4.In the item fields (upper part of this screen) enter the relevant data:
    – Select the GR non-val. field to designate the GR for this item as non-valuated (as the item has been ordered for direct consumption).
    – In the Distribution field, specify whether the costs are to be apportioned on a quantity basis or by percentage.
    – In the Partial invoice field, specify whether the value of a partial invoice is to be allocated to individual account assignment items successively, whereby one is debited in full before a posting is made to another one (in which case, some account assignment items may not be debited at all as a result of a particular invoice), or whether the value of such a partial invoice is to be distributed among all account assignment items in equal portions.
5.For each account assignment item, enter either the quantity or the percentage of the total value to be charged to the relevant account assignment item.
To enter further items with the same account assignment data, choose Edit -> Repeat account assignment -> Switch on. The account assignment data will then be automatically adopted in the next item.
6.Repeat as necessary for other items.
    7.Save the purchase order.
A vendor submits an invoice for 60% of the total order value. The cost of the ordered goods is to be divided equally among cost centers 1 - 5 (that is, 20% of the total cost is to be borne by each).
If you specified for the PO item that the value of a partial invoice is to be debited to the individual account assignment items on a "progressive fill-up" basis, cost centers 1 to 3 will each be debited with their full 20% share of the total cost on the basis of this partial invoice, whereas cost centers 4 and 5 will not be charged at all. (The latter two cost centers will not be debited until the remaining amount is invoiced.)

  • Account Assignments for Dep and Accum

    Hi,
The GL account assignment  at COA level  for Depreciation and accumilated depreciation.
The COD is assigned to Co codes. We have already one co code is in Production. The other one is in Legacy asset transfer stage.
1.Can I use a different  GL accounts( Temporary Dep Account and Accum ) for second co code for Depreciation and accum dep when the system is having another co code which is in production with correct Dep and accum dep accounts?
2.Will the system allow to change when the production data is there  as we have to use the same COD for a new co code.?
The scenario  is when we go live for second co code we want to use a different GL accoutns for Dep and Accum for Legacy transfer ( End of previous year) We want to run Depreciation every month and compare with Legacy .Finally when we swicth over to SAP we want to use different GL account (like Production system)
Once the Numbers are tallied then we shall pass JV from temp Dep account to Regular dep account  and regular accum Dep account
What is the best approach ?
    Thanks,
    Chitra

    Hi Srinu,
Sorry for my delay i- I was away.
Yes You are correct. The approach is more complicated unnecessarily. Anyhow now switched to the standard approach as I could convince my user  as follows.
The scenario is like this . we are taking the balance  from legacy as of last FY . Say Apr-Mar   Take the balances as of  March to legacy asset transfer at the end of  previous FY.. ( For audit perspective and want to see w/o a gap in FA for the whole year)
We have to prove that the balances are taken from legacy are accurate and tallied with GL of Legacy on
    1.Accum depreciation
    2.Asset balances and depreciation
You are correct that agree that  it is not correct approach to change the config when the same COD is being used by other co code in the  same box.
Alternatively we designed like this. .
    1.     As GL balances are taken from Legacy system we get the trial balance from them and use the conversion accounts  for Asset balances and accum  in the trial balance taken from Legacy syste,
    2.     So the conversion account 900001 hold the data  Say 10000 as asset bal and  (conversion account  900002 )7000 as acccum
    3.     We load the legacy data using AS91
    4.     End of it the balance in FA is 10000 and 70000 which matches with Conversion account 90001 and 90002
    5.     In GL they pass a JV to shift the GL balances from conversion account to real asset account and accum account as in FA
    6.     The balances in Conversion account should be 0 at the end.
    7.     If any difference then it has to be investigated and corrected.
    8.     New assets are added as transaction as well retirement
    9.     Run depreciation at the end of every period
    10.     Check the  Exp account Depreciation account .
    11.     That should tally with the P&L balance taken over from legacy system   for GL side of SAP as historical data transfer for GL balances at P&L side  ( use conversion account for Depreciation amount of Expenses side of the P&L taken for SAP at monthly interval. )
    12.     If any difference in Depreciation amount then it has to be investigated and adjusted .
Please guide /Correct me if I missed out anything

  • Install Business Content for Asset Accounting

    Hi All
I am not able to install business content for Asset Accounting. I collected oFIAA info area with data flow before and afterwards and mode automatic. I checked the boxes for info objects, DSO multi providers etc and clicked installation and transport so as to get a transport request which I want to transport to production if all is well. It is prompting for a request which is already present and not allowing to change. I cancelled this process, created a new request in transport organizer and assigned the installation to this request. But afterwards it again prompted for the previous request and I aborted the process. What should I do to install the content as I don't want to transport a previous request since I didn't create it and I don't know what will happen if I transport. Sorry for the long story.
    Regards
    Subin

Some objects were already locked in the request , that could be the reason why It was prompting previous request number
Goto that request in SE09/SE10 - Remove the objects from the tasks or
Goto SE03 - Unlock Objects (Expert Tool) - enter request number and unlock all the objects from the request
Now goto Bus.content - Install and when it prompts for request enter new one
Note : I would suggest you to remove all the unwanted objects from old request though they are unlocked , In future it will be a problem if someone tries to use that request , or change description to do not transport so will people will think about this request not to use and transport

I have two accounts and for both accounts I use the same email. I cannot verify my email on my main account because of this. Help? Can I just cancel my other account to avoid confusion? I am totally stuck now.

By the sounds of it you have linked Email Accounts, if so this means that you will both recieve the majority of the same Emails, and if you do and you read them on your account (which is linked with your husbands) then they will appear to read on the both of them because they are linked. With the majority of Email providers these days they're Emails are (simplified) in the cloud you could say, meaning that if you read or delete shared Emails then it will do the same on both accounts rather than just the yours.
I hope all that made sense, sorry that I couldn't be of anymore assistance.. If you havent already try googling your problem - you may find some answers on there

  • Account determination for COGS account by customer

    Dear gurus
I’d like to get advice about account determination for COGS account.
I have requirement to determine COGS account based on “Customer”.
If the customer is outside the group, we want to charge to
“Sales: Third-party” and “COGS: Third-party” accounts.
And if the customer is in the group, we want to charge to
“Sales: Intercompan” and “COGS: Intercompany” account.
However, since COGS account is determined from Valuation class in
Material master (OBYC), it cannot be determined from “Customer”.
(Because same material can be sold to third-party and intercompany too)
Do you know any solution for it?
    Yoshi

    Hi
The only other way I could think of is to do an enhancement at the time of delivery to read the customer and substitute the GL Account for COGS based on Customer recon Account.
The sales can easily be seggregated based on Customer Account Assignment Group in the customer Sales Area. Assuming the material account assignment group is 01 and customer account assignment group are as under:
    External Customer 01
    Group Customer    03
Now in VKOA you can seggregate the revenue account determination for Group and external customer based on different customer account assignment group.
The only issue is for COGS GL for which you might want to look at Enhancement or Split Valuation that I talked about earlier.
    Thanks & Regards

  • You have not defined a CO account assignment for an account

    Dear all,
i have a problem while SD billing.
we assigned costelement for newly created condition type through account assignment key and group.
but system is giving error when posting billing as "You have not defined a CO account assignment for an account".
I already assigned costcenter to this costelement in OKB9 and also in the costelement master also
    but still have same problem.
Pls help me the path to make the rules forget co object for costelement.
    tks in advance...

    Dear Friend,
I think this problem is from Gl account , maintain the cost center in Gl account and then try once.

  • You have not defined a CO account assignment for an account that is relevan

    Hi,
While creating a billing document I encountered the following message
"You have not defined a CO account assignment for an account that is relevant to cost accounting."
My billing document got created but my accounting document was not created.I checked the Billing-->header for the error and it says "Error in accounting interface".
Can anybody throw some light on the reason behind this kind of error?

    Hi Ronaldo
Firstly , Check wheather you might have done Revenue account determination (t.code VKOA) with KOFK condition type also and assigned G/L accounts also.As KOFK condition type is used for controlling purpose . So kindly check wheather the cost centers have been created or not and also check wheather conditon types have been assigned or not   (after releasing the billing we can check) .
Ask your FI consultant  to configure the controlling (CO) part
Secondly , If the configuration has not yet happened then in VKOA remove the assignment made to your sales orgn +acc assn grp of CMR &  MMR and then go to VF02 and then save the billing document
    Regards

  • You have not defined CO account assignment for an account that is relevant

    Hi All,
While psoting the billing doc to accounting it is giving error as:
You have not defined CO account assignment for an account that is relevant to cost accounting.
Please let us know about error and which team and where we configure that?

    Hello ,
one of the G/L accounts for which you have specified in revenue accoutn determination (T code -VKOA) has a setting which requires assignment ot a CO object.
check for the g/accounts detremined, goto FS00 enter the g/l account and the company code
Click on the Edit cost element tab. chcek the entries there, if ther is a entry it means cost assignemtn is reuqired
check with the FICo consultant , if this is really requried and what is the object desired.
based on that , you can have the object , if it si related to sales order then WBS element, internal order etc can be input
    Hope This helps
