text,to open a file!!!!!!!!!!!
please help me if someone know something.....

No, you cannot make a VI "look like it is running from someplace else". The VI isn't what's running - it's the LabVIEW development environment that's running. This sounds like an issue with the ActiveX control that you're using, and not an issue with LabVIEW. Have you tried contacting the publisher of that ActiveX control and asking them why they wrote it that way?

  • ActiveX control using relative paths

    I've been battling with an Active X control for a while now. Everytime I use a particular active x control inside a VI, it crashes during execution. Labview wasn't giving much of a hint, but after an exhaustive investigation, we determined that the exe must be in the third party vendors bin folder for it to work properly. In other words, the active x control looks for lower level dll's using the executable's relative path. I've successfully got this working by building an exe from Labview and then placing it in the bin folder and executing from there.
    So my question: Is there anyway to get this working correctly in the development evironment? Right now, if I try to run this from the development environment, it looks for the dll's relative to the path of Labview.exe. Is there any setting to make a VI look like it is running from a different location? I know I could continually create builds, but it would be much easier if I could run VIs from the development environment while I develop and debug.

  • Handling events of ActiveX controls in TestStand!rol

    Hi,
    I want to use the Microsoft WINSOCK control with existing ActiveX Automation Adapter of TestStand. These control generates an event in case of incomming data.
    Question:
    Is there any way to treat the events of such controls in TestStand (same problem with MSCOMM control) or can this only be realized by polling the size of incomming buffer?
    In case of answer two, i would be interested in any realized example.
    Regards,
    Sunny

    Hi Sunny,
    Currently, you cannot call ActiveX controls using the ActiveX Automation Adapter in TestStand. To do this, you would need to call a code module that was set to display/utilize the control, and retrieve all of the events generated by the control. TestStand can only currently call ActiveX servers (either DLL or EXE) that support the IDispatch interface. Hope this answers your question.

  • Register failk error when invoking ActiveX control for a JavaBean from VB6

    J2RE v1.4.2_09
    Visual Basic 6.0 SP5/Visual C++ 6.0 SP5
    Windows 2000 SP4
    We have our existing production applications written using VB6 and VC++6. We are in the process of moving them incrementally to J2EE. Before everything is totally re-written in J2EE, we need to do something for interoperability between existing VB6/VC++6 and J2EE. ActiveX Bridge seems to be the solution we need, if only it works.
    Problem that I am facing....
    Register failk error when I try to insert a java bean activex control on a VB6.0 or VC++6.0 form or create an instance of the activex "Person.Bean.1" using CreateObject function, it throws the following error. I am able to create an instance of Person Bean ActiveX Control using ActiveX Control Test Container that comes with Visual Studio 6.0 and invoke the methods in the bean successfully though which means that the ActiveX control is registered properly and working.
    Error Message Box Title: asdas
    Error Message: register failk
    And then another error message pops up.
    Error Message Box Title: Java(TM) Plug-in Fatal Error
    Error Message: Cannot load class sun/plugin/JavaRunTime
    The Bridge was installed at <D:\PROGRA~1\Java\J2RE14~2.2_0> but the class is not there. Modify the registry key to reflect the new bridge location. The key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JavaSoft\Java Plug-in or Change your CLASSPATH to include the new directory.
    I have this sample java bean class.
    a) Person.java
    import java.io.*;
    public class Person implements Serializable{
    private String fName,lName;
    public Person(){
    fName = new String();
    lName = new String();
    public void setFirstName(String firstName){
    fName = firstName;
    public void setLastName(String lastName){
    lName = lastName;
    public String getName(){
    return fName+" "+lName;
    b) person_manifest
    Name: Person.class
    Java-Bean: True
    Steps followed:
    call "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\Bin\vcvars32.bat"
    set path=D:\j2sdk1.4.2_09\bin;%path%
    javac Person.java
    jar -cvfm Person.jar person_manifest Person.class
    mkdir "d:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_09\axbridge\bin"
    D:\j2sdk1.4.2_09\bin\packager -out "d:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_09\axbridge\bin" -reg Person.jar Person
    Person.dll file created under d:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_09\axbridge\bin and Person.jar copied under d:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_09\axbridge\lib.
    I am able to create an instance of this Person Bean ActiveX Control using ActiveX Control Test Container that comes with Visual Studio 6.0 and invoke the methods in the bean successfully. But, when I try to insert the activex control on a VB6 or VC++6 form or create an instance of "Person.Bean.1" using CreateObject function, it throws the above mentioned errors.
    I checked the registry and it shows J2RE1.4.2_09 version properly under that key and the Person.dll file exists under d:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_09\axbridge\bin. I also explicitly added the plugin.jar, person.jar to the classpath. Still it gives the error.
    Any ideas? Any fix or workaround for this problem? Thanks.

    Sometimes solutions are simpler than expose the problem.
    Did you add the dll to the project references?
    Sometimes also it is usefull to use the regsvr32 program to register the DLL.

  • ActiveX Control error -143

    I'm running CVI 2012 on windows 7 machine,  After installing the application with the distribution program I get the error ActiveX control error , Error Code -143. I would appreciate any help!

    Hello, some more data would be helpful in order to investigate this situation.
    First of all, that error code is not part of the ActiveX library. It seems a User Interface Library instead: if it's so it simply means "ActiveX Control Error", that is you must search for additional informations inside the ActiveX library and in the documentation for the control you are using.
    By the way, knowing actual  ActiveX control used would be helpful too, but only after you have discovered some more informations on the error itself.
    Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

    When Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is enabled, using the ActiveX control to print reports from a Crystal 10 DHTML viewer results in the following error message:
    "A communication error occurred, printing will be stopped."
    How can this error message be resolved?
    Resolution
    This is a known issue with Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10 viewers and has been tracked. The Track ID is ADAPT00282199.
    This error occurs due to the receiving application performing a case-sensitive check for the HTTPS request header value "ON". When a sender application sends the value as "on" in lower case, the error occurs. The update below changes the receiving application to be case-insensitive.
    Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the updates, this issue is resolved.
    Unless indicated otherwise, Weekly Hot Fix updates from our FTP site have only been tested with English versions of products.
    For Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10, the update for this issue is included in the Crystal 10 Viewers Weekly Hot Fix (WHF). This is available in English only at the following location:

  • How to control and display video from IP camera using ActiveX control over Internet.

    Hello,
    I need to control my IP cameras over the internet. I need to log into the cameras and then display the video.  There's an ActiveX control registered on the computer and works fine with IE to access and control the cameras. Controlling the cameras using IE works fairly well, but there are some quirks that I'd like to eliminate by using my own custom code.
    Has anyone created a vi that controls a Foscam FI8905W over the Internet? I’ve attempted, but I keep getting a catastrophic failure when I try to call ManagementConnect Method in the DVM_IPCam2 ActiveX Control Module V1.0. I'm not sure whether I need to establish an IP connection with the cameras first, or allow the ActiveX control to establish it for me.
    Some example code would be greatly appreciated. Running LabVIEW 2011 on a Win7 32bit.  Even some code used to control a similar device using ActiveX over Internet would be helpful.

    I have an example vi for interfacing to the foscam activex.
    I plan on using mouse click events within the activex window to trigger the PT function.
    I only have the basic up/down/right/left directions and not the down-right/down-left/up-right/up-left in the enum.  You can load the camera's web page and view the source to see the Java script code that uses the activex control.  There are definitions for the other directions.
    I had to mark the control as "Disabled" to keep click events from going to the activex control.  If I double click the control, it goes full screen.  If I then click on it to get out of full screen mode the video never returns or returns to the wrong spot in the VI.

  • How do I use a LabView control element as ActiveX Control in another application?

    I am was trying to include some simple ActiveX Controls(sliders, buttons) in my VBScript. It worked with other ActiveX Components from the web, however I wasn't able to include the LabView ActiveX Controls because I was missing the necessary IDs. Moreover I was able to test the LabView control by inserting it into the VC++- Test Container. But I still can't find the necessary IDs...

    I don't believe that any of the LabVIEW controls (except for 3D Graphs) are ActiveX controls so I'm not sure what control you were able to insert into the VC++ container. What's the exact name of the control? NI does have ActiveX controls that are part of Measurment Studio so maybe it's one of those that you're using?

  • No longer able to insert ActiveX controls or use existing ActiveX controls in Word documents

    Using Word 2010 32bit on Windows 7.1 64bit OS.
    I have a document with several ActiveX controls that I use as a template to generate new documents.  This morning I installed the monthly roll-out of Windows/MS Office updates and then rebooted.  After rebooting, when I opened my Word document,
    I could not use the controls.
    As far as I can tell, the controls are not disabled in security but are actually not recognized.  If I go into Developer Mode and open the Properties from the context menu on one of the ActiveX controls, the Properties dialog opens but shows properties
    for the main document and not for the control.  If I try to drop a new ActiveX control in a blank document, I get the following message from Microsoft Word: "The program used to create this object is Forms.  That program is either not installed
    on your computer or it is not responding.  To edit this object, install Forms or ensure that any dialog boxes in Forms are closed."  I have not been able to find any information on a program called "Forms".  Is this some component
    of Word that has been corrupted?
    I don't think there is any problem with the actual document because I can still open and use it on another machine running Word 2010 (where the latest updates have not been installed).

    Among the monthly updates for March 2015 is a series of updates that should correct the problem. Use Windows Update to get them.

  • ActiveX controls not downloaded when using Internet Explorer 10

    We have many legacy applications developed using ASP and VB(InterDev). Our organization is moving to use Internet Explorer 10 in the near future.
    We had a IE10 compatibility testing for our legacy applications and we observed that the applications using ActiveX controls are not working. Applications works perfectly fine with the older version of Internet Explorer.
    We looked for the various workarounds but we did not find any.
    Some application does nothing when we click on a button to generate the report but some applications throws the below error:
    <div id="x_x_imcontent"> <div style="font-size: 9pt; direction: ltr;">"ActiveX
    control failed to load! -- This control is required to use the Address Book and Attachment features.  Please check your browser security settings and/or contact PC Support to install the digitally signed control."</div>
    </div>
    We will be glad if we get any assistance on this issue.

    Hi,
    Please post your ActiveX feature testing scripts to the IE Web Developer forum.
    (f12>Debug tab, search for ActiveX.... you should be able to find code blocks where you are feature testing for your ActiveX controls eg var ourcontrol=new ActiveX('foobar');
    these code blocks will be the origin of the error messages that are injected into the page. (you can also search for where the "ActiveX control failed to load" string is in your code.)
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/home?forum=iewebdevelopment
    IE10 has ActiveX filtering.... a blue circle with a line through it appears in the Address bar if any ActiveX content is blocked by Tools>ActiveX filtering.
    IE10 has Enhanced protected Mode turned on by default in the Internet and Restricted Zones. I assume that you are mapping your test domain to the Intranet zone (where EPM is turned off by default and x32 bit controls are used.... if not you should see information
    bars asking for permission to run the 32bit activeX controls)
    Ensure you are using the Default IE security settings, (and also that you have applied the new admx files to your GPO and GPEdit control panels....)
    Tools>Internet Options>Security tab, click "Reset all zones to default".
    Ensure your test environment maps to the Intranet Zone (File>Properties) and that Enhanced Protected Mode is turned off for that zone (Security tab of Internet Options)
    Ensure that your ActiveX controls are enabled (Tools>Manage Addons>Show all Addons) and that they have the correct permissions..... find them in the Addons manager and then click the item in the list to display their properties and permissions... at
    the bottom of the Addons Properties there is a textarea with "You have approved this addon to run in the follow websites"... you testing and production domains should be listed.
    For the best solutions/answers you should probably open a support ticket at support.microsoft.com so a support engineer can access your testing environment and do some tests.
    Regards.

  • Query about use activex control in Developer form

    I'm an oracle developer and My name is milton datta.I cant' use activex control in forms.Pls. anybody would help me how to use activex control in developer forms.If possible provide me with some examples.
    my email address is [email protected]

    Download the Oracle Forms demos and you'll see a sample.

  • Can you use ActiveX controls in PL/SQL?

    I am trying to find a way to start email from within a database trigger. Someone told me I could use an ActiveX Control (custom made by a colleague). Although I have never worked with ActiveX or OLE, I know that it is possible to use them in Forms. Is is also possible to call an ActiveX in PL/SQL? How? And if it is impossible, could someone tell me another way to start email (the application is to be implemented in a Windows NT Network).
    Lots of thanks for any answer or advice,
    Joeri Folman

    Joen,
    I am not totally sure what you mean when you say 'start email', but you should check out the utl_smpt packages in the database. They can be used to send email messages from the database. I believe that you need to have an email server (like sendmail) running on the machine for these to work correctly.
    Check out Oracle Built-In Packages by Steven Feuerstein. Steven also has a real good book on PL/SQL programming that you may find helpful.

  • How can i use activeX Control in labview?

    how can i use activeX Control in labview?
    please describe me step by step.
    thanks.

    Well..that was quite helpful..but now I'm encountering certain problems. I've attached the VI I've made.
    I don't need sound at the moment so I dropped it. (Although I tried to play it..but all I could hear was a very annoying sound.) Secondly I don't want to display any date or time..so i dropped that property too.
    Now when I run this Vi...the webcam turns on, the screen of videocapx pops up..then the webcam light goes off..and another pop up appears saying..labview is not responding..and i have to close it reluctantly.
    I haven't placed the stop capture property in this vi. i checked it by placing it too..but that doesn't work.
    I would like to notify that my actual task is to acquire image and then compare it with another one already present on my pc. I want you to please help me out..solve my first query then I'll proceed with the latter part.

  • Need alternative for activex print control using Crystal reports 2008

    I have created a .Net web application (2.0/3.5 .Net framework) with crystal reports 2008.
    Reports are viewed using Crystal reports 2008 activex viewer.
    On click of PRINT icon in activex viewer, activex print control download prompt will be displayed on client machine.
    I need to avoid downloading of activex print control on client machine. Is there any other alternative or option to use print functionality in viewer without downloading activex print control on client machine?
    Or Is there any other workaround for print functionality in Crystal reports 2008 Viewer without downloading activex print control?
    Note: Activex print control download prompt will not be displayed when using Crystal reprots XI Release 2 version.
    Thanks,
    Jagannath

    Does anyone know which files need to be registered for the ActiveX print control?  We occasionally have users who somehow break their Crystal ActiveX controls, and they can no longer see the print options.  In Crystal 10, I was able to fix these issues by pushing a package which registered several files on the user's computer.

  • LabView TEDS library into DLL or ActiveX Control so that I can use it in C or Visual Basic?

    We are developing software in LabWindows/CVI and Microsoft C. I heard that LabView can generate DLLs. Can I turn LabView TEDS library into DLL or ActiveX Control so that I can use it in C or Visual Basic development environment?

    Technically what you are proposing is possible with LabVIEW. With LabVIEW's application builder, VIs can be built into dlls. Also, LV has ActiveX hooks and so you could create a system for calling into it from CVI. However, this is not what I would recommend.
    The LabVIEW VIs have been written to a preliminary version of the IEEE specification (1451.4) that describes the TEDS data which is primarily why I'm advising you against using them. Once the IEEE spec is approved (the current timeline is currently late March), it will become public and you can write your own code according to the specification (or wait for someone else to write it). To help you get started, the spec includes flex and bison code that describes the syntax and structure of the template files
    Internally, we've written some C, C++ and Java code to the preliminary version of the spec and we've found that we can duplicate the functionality of the TEDS Library for LV in roughly 2 weeks in any other language.
