Activity search by Completed status and End Date

Hi All,
When i try searching for an activity based on the date on which the status was set to Completed, the system does not show any results. 'Criteria used are Activity Type, Status = Completed, End Date.'
If i choose an End date = Date on which the status on the Activity was set to Completed, the system does not show correct results. The system only shows those activities where the Activity Status was Open and Completed on the same day. For activities where Open and Completed Status was set on different dates, there are no search results.
However, with the same criteria set, if i change the End Date = Date when Activity Status was Open, i get the results.
Is it not possible to search for activities based on Status and End date combination?

Hi Kansal,
There is a possibility that the status profile you maintained for the activities has some issues.Please check the Business transaction (which maps system status) that you have mapped with your completed and open staus.It might be that the user staus is set to be open but in the status profile it is accidently mapped to the completed or finished.

Getting error while invoking ADF Start and End Dates

I am new to developing ADF Application.
Into :
I am developing a search Page which has a select (drop down), startDate and endDate and a 'GO' Button
when user selects 'data from Drop Down', selects startDate and endDate and Presses 'GO' Button
Based on the Selected combination of Data i should get the Data.

So now at Design Time i have Query 2, but Strangely at RUN Time Query 1 is Excecuting asking for "Start Date" Binding Variable NOT Found (as there is no Start Date Bind Variable in Query 1)

SNP Planned order start and end dates are not calculated correctly

Hello SNP Guru's
The SNP planned orders generated after the Heuristics run, have a start and end date based on the Activity Duration (Fixed), while the resource consumption is based on the Bucket Consumption (Variable), which is correct.
The Activity Duration (Fixed) is based on the BOM Base Quantity. So if the Activity Duration = 1 day, and if the order quantity is more than a day, the start and end dates, still shows as 1 day. So no matter what is the order quantity, the start and end dates is always = 1 day.
Does anyone have any experience in implementing any code to change the start and end dates on SNP Planned Order?
Seems like it should work as standard.
Am i missing something?

Dear Mangesh,
SNP is a infinite planning tool. If you have defined fixed duration to be 1 DAY in the activity, no matter how many quantity you input for your planned order, the order will last for one day. If the resourced is overloaded, you then run capacity levelling to
banlance the capacity. What your expected beahavior happens in PPDS planning.

I gave your suggestion a try but initially got a technical error and then appeared to be getting closer and closer to completing an order without the required information coming up so I chickened out. This also was fraught with difficulty as the cancel button seemed ineffective.
I think I may have to use imjolly suggestions.

Report execution start and end date/time

How can one find execution start and end date/times for all reports? Basically I am looking to see what reports were run on a day, when and how long it took for each to complete.

The "eul5_batch_reports" holds the data about the scheduled report and if you don't have any so you will not have any data.
Take a look at "EUL5_QPP_STATS"

Hyperion Planning dynamic forms based on start and end date across years

Hi All,
I have a requirement where i need to be able to view a form showing periods across years that are dynamically built depending on the start and end dates. If i have a start date of 01/11/2009 and an end date of 31/7/2013 i want to be able to view a form that shows all of the periods (Jan,Feb etc) in a form that is driven by these dates, in addition it will need to show the actual scenario up to the current month and the forecast from the current month to the end date. So basically if a user inputs the start and end dates the form will display the relevant periods driven by these dates.
Any tips very much appreciated!

This is difficult to realize, but you can get quite far with a workaround. The first question is, where do you want to input your selection of time periods? Assuming you have a webform with the complete timeline in months and years and you type in the start period and end period.
Webforms have the option to suppress rows and columns.
This can be extended with option of empty cells or not empty cells.
You will need to apply your creativity on this.
Put every month-year combination in a column and add the suppression.
Calculate the timeline between start period and end period with a dummy member, so data exists for these and columns will show.
Maybe you will need to copy the required timeline into a separate version for this, to avoid having periods which were outside the selection and still have data.
I hope these hints help a bit in this challenge.

VA42 user exit to update contract start and end dates at Item level

Hi Experts,
                  I need to update contract start and end dates at Item level in 'VA42' transaction, for this i am using user-exit 'USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION' in the include 'MV45AFZZ'. i am able to display the data into item level through my coding but the data is not getting updated into 'VEDA'
Note: No need to change contract start date and end date in header level. Only at item level i want to change dates.

VA42 user exit to update contract start and end dates at header

Hi.
My requirement : In VA42, if a user changes a contract end date at item level, I want the change to be reflected at header level automatically.
I have looked in MV45AFZZ, USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT and USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE. I am unable to affect the contract end date in those user exits, whatever I put in VEDA-VENDDAT or XVEDA-VENDDAT or whateverVEDA-VENDDAT, does not have any effect on the actual contract dates.
Can anyone help?

The academic calendar assigned to the top organizational unit does not contain a start or end date for the academic period (academic year and session) assigned to fee calculation period Z000.
System Response
The system will skip fee calculation period Z000 and continue processing with the next fee calculation period.
Procedure
1. Check which academic calendar is assigned to the top organizational unit.
2. Check which academic period is assigned to fee calculation period Z000. You check this setting in Customizing for Campus Management in the IMG activity Assign Academic Years and Sessions to Fee Calculation Periods.
3. In this academic calendar, create the start and end dates of the relevant academic period using standard time limit 0100 (standard duration of academic period) or a corresponding user-defined time limit.

Copying start and end dates from service request contract to tasks

I am working on a logical apps program that is supposed to go to the service request screens and update the PLANNED_START_DATE and the PLANNED_END_DATE of a task for that service request on file JTF_TASKS_B with the start date and end date of the active contract associated with that service request and task. I think some of the contract information is available in OKS_PM_SCHEDULES_V, CS_SR_INCIDENTS_V, and CS_INCIDENTS. It may also be available in other files. I need to know of a contract file that can be used to link the contract to the corresponding task. I can't seem to find any files with task, contract number and service request all in one file.

You are right. All the three object you mentioned ( SR, Tasks and Contracts) are not referenced in a single file( or Table).
You can use this relationship though to get this information.
Tasks will be associated to a SR through source_ID and source_type. Source_ID will be the primary key, incident_id in CS_INCIDENTS_ALL_B table. This table incidentally also contains the contract_number and service_contract_id which gives the contract information.

Start and End Dates check

Hi,
I have a requirement to find the list of persons who have overlapping dates.
Each person can have many start and End Dates, but only one row that has a NULL end date, the active record. If the start and end dates are overlapped, like in the example below, the second row should have a start date of 24-DEC-2006 and not 22-DEC-2006. Is it possible to list those persons who have overlapping dates/gap in the dates.

I like where you are coming from. I hope you don't mind but I have extended your idea slightly to add in a PARTITION BY clause to make sure we look at records for the same person. Also, if we LAG to get a previous record shouldn't we LAG the END_DATE and compare it with the current START_DATE?
LAG(END_DATE,1) OVER (PARTITION BY EMPL_ID ORDER BY START_DATE)
Doing this, then the results would look like this:
Empl_ID Start Date End Date Lag Date
12345 01-JAN-2006 23-DEC-2006 NULL
12345 22-DEC-2006 13-JAN-2007 23-DEC-2006
12345 14-JAN-2007 NULL 13-JAN-2007
This would give the SIGN an issue because in the first record the LAG would be NULL and in the last record the END_DATE would be NULL. So it looks like some manipulation of NULLs has to take place as well which I will deal with later.
SIGN((LAG(END_DATE,1) OVER (PARTITION BY EMPL_ID ORDER BY START_DATE)) - START_DATE)
Anytime the difference between the Lag Date and the Start Date is positive this means this is an overlap which means we do need to look for any variance where the SIGN is 1.
Using the other function, we could use LEAD like this:
LEAD(START_DATE,1) OVER (PARTITION BY EMPL_ID ORDER BY START_DATE)
Doing this, then the results would look like this:

This time you would be looking for the SIGN to be -1
Personally, I think I would prefer the LEAD function because a) there would always be a START_DATE, and b) we could replace all of the possible NULLs with the SYSDATE to get a final calculation like this:
SIGN(NVL(LEAD(START_DATE,1) OVER (PARTITION BY EMPL_ID ORDER BY START_DATE),TRUNC(SYSDATE)) - NVL(END_DATE, TRUNC(SYSDATE)))
Based on the current date being 17-NOV-2009, you would now get this result:

Update Contract Start and End dates via BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2

Hi Experts.
We are successfully using BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 to create sales order.
Only problem is that the contract start and end date do not get updated.
We are passing that in ORDER_HEADER_in-CT_VALID_F and ORDER_HEADER_IN-CT_VALID_T.
After debugging, I found that there is one more table SALES_CONTRACT_IN in SD_SALESDOCUMENT_CREATE. Updating the values in that table works.
But the problem is this table is not available in BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2. How to update Contract start and end dates from this FM ?
I could not find anything in the search of this forums. So I guess this is not an issue and I am doing something wrong. Can someone suggest to me please?

Start and End Date Validation

OK I am lost and searched and made changes to what I am doing, but not sure I have datasets correct or something written wrong.
I have two date fields on my form. A Start Date and an End Date
I put some validation that says the Start Date/Time cannot be greater than the End Date/Time or so I think that is what it is saying. But if I put and end date in the form with a time that is an hour after the start date, it throws the error
Here are my details and maybe I am just storing data wrong or something

It is working better for sure, but after it is saved, I can go back and make the end date less than the start date and it accepts the save. I don't really anticipate this happening, but trying to plan for all eventualities.

Project Definition Satr and end date

I have cretaed project with WBSE and Network Activities . Designed for Forward scheduling . The steps are as follows :-
1.After creating the Project Definition , system will provide start date i.e today's date.
2. After Creating Network activities with duration and providing relationships between the activities , then schedule the Project .
3. After scheduling the Project , end date of the project can be seen in the Project definition .
Issue is as follows :-
after confirming the activity , and reschedule the project , system is changing Project Definition start date as well as end date .
required start date should be fixed and end date should be changed according to confirmation of avctivity .
Can u pls suggest what settings are needed .

Hi DMRAO,
Please verify the value that is maintained for field 'Plan.meth/basic' on the control tab of the project definition (Planning Dates). It should be Top Down (using this method whenever a project is saved the system automatically checks the dates within the project structure, if time scheduling is not consistent then the project cannot be saved).
