Actobat X Pro - Creating a fill-in form and i want it to email back to me

I have created a fill-in form in Adobe X Pro (Trial version) and would like to set up a 'Submit' button that once all info is filled out, the customer can then press and this emails the PDF back to me.
How do i do this? I am sure there are other threads already going about this but i cant understand a word in any of them. So please if you reply it needs to be as simple as possible.
Please help
- Alex

Bill,
Thank you for your help.
The reason i have gone for the trial version is that I am part of a big company that would probably not authorise me to purchase the full product or even if they did, it would take months for it to get loaded onto my computer etc. This is why i have chosen to try this through the trial version.
I will try again with what you've suggested below. I had a play around with it last night and the FDF file works, although i would rather the PDF. I will see what i come up with.
Thanks.

  • Using acrobat 9 pro to create a fill in form

I am really new to acrobat 9 and need help.  I am trying to create a fill in form from a word doc converted to pdf.  When I convert to pdf I lose control of my access to change tables that were created in word and also not all fields are recognized so I end up adding in fields.  No big deal except down the road if I need to make any changes I have to go back to the word doc make changes, reconvert to pdf and individually tweek each field.  There has got to be an easier way create a fill in form.  Any suggestions?

No magic here, but keep in mind that you can replace a page of a pdf (Document > Replace Pages) and have the form fields remain. Think of the fields as on a layer above the page. When you replace a page in this way, you at least will not have to recreate the fields you added. You will still be able to move fields around and add or delete fields as necessary to match your new layout.
If your form changes significantly and frequently, you may want to consider using Adobe Live Cycle Designer. I believe it is installed automatically with Acrobat Pro. Much steeper learning curve, though.

  • While creating a project in Garage Band my sample tracks were cut short then overwritten in soundtrack pro. Any ideas why? and how to get my tracks back?

While creating a project in Garage Band 09 my sample tracks were being cut short- I then discovered they had been overwritten in soundtrack pro.
Any ideas why? and how to get my tracks back?
I never opened soundtrack pro to edit the track just Garage band....the track just mysteriously saved as half the track.
I am running Lion and I upgraded my Garage band to '11 hoping it would resolve the issue...it didn't. Now I can't find that tracks at all.
The 2 songs having the issue are titled Exotic Yearning and Reunion.
I am in the process of reinstalling the audio content from my discs. I just don't want to run into this again.
Any thoughts and help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

After spending some time reinstalling the soundtrack pro 3 content I opened the full track called Reunion.
It showed back up in Garage Band.*It was the full track and wasn't chopped off until I dragged it onto the project. Then it showed up chopped.
Then I closed Garaged band and opened soundtrack pro 3....The song was again chopped off at the 1:33min mark
    Very Frusterated...:(

When I am filling a form and have to go back a page the stuff I have inserted disappears. Someone told me to set "PRESERVE FORMS" in my browser. I looked but did not find any likely adjustment. I have been in the habit pg taking a screen snip of my form details, but this is clumsy.
    I received was:
" Enable Preserve Form Contents for your web browser. It's located in
different places for different browsers, and it should be enabled by
default. I'm guess it's not enabled on your system. It will keep all the
fields intact in a form such as the e-mail page if you have to click on Back. "

If possible then try to open that page in a new tab via a middle-click or Ctrl and left-click to avoid losing the current form.
Note that you can hold down the left mouse button on the toolbar Back button to open the tab history menu and that you can middle-click an entry to open that page in a new tab.

I want to install a third operating system on my macbook pro. I already have windows and i want install unix or linux in there. Is it possible??

Yes, it's possible, but if your Windows system is on a Boot Camp partition then you have to first remove it. Then create however many partitions you want for the operating systems. You have OS X on one, so you need two more - one for Windows and one for Linux. You then install Windows and Linux separately to their respective partitions. Download rEFIt
Use it as the replacement bootloader so you can properly boot from each OS properly.

    Hi rixa03!
I have a couple of troubleshooting steps for you to try to resolve this issue. First, you should try closing the app according to the instructions found on this website, which is a troubleshooting assistant for the iPad:
Apple - Support - iPad - iPad Troubleshooting Assistant
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/ipad/#section_3
If the issue persists, you may need to try resetting the iPad, the instructions for which can be found here:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!

I'm confused.  Are you saying that your mac came with an older version of OS X, but you want to be able to use OS X Lion, which you downloaded from the App store?  If this is not the case, what do you mean by "I downloaded os x but my laptop started off with os x lion and i want os x lion back"?  Specifically, what do you mean by "I downloaded OS X" if your mac came with Lion?

  • Creating a fill in form.

Is there a way to create a pdf and have it online as a fillin form but that the users can't save it, just fill it in and print it directly from the server?
I don't want them to be able to print it because I want them to keep coming back to the website for the files.

If you make a PDF form available on a web site, you cannot prevent someone from being downloading it and using it locally. There are DRM solutions available that allow you to control what a user can do with a document, for example how long it can be used, but they're expensive. • How to create PDF Fill in forms programatically ?

    Hi
I am developing an application in .Net environment.
I have a requirement to create fill in pdf form through my program (Text boxes, check boxes, Group radio buttons, etc), fill and save PDF forms and finally extract entered information.
    I have following queries:
    1. Do Adobe provide any component(dll, etc) that exposes APIs to create such type of forms ?
    2. What are the licensing requirements for these? (For form creater as well as users who fill PDF forms) (License costs ??)
    3. What specific versions of Adobe acrobat reader needed, if specific version required ?
    Please reply to these queries.
    Thanks in advance,
    Karan

    >-- Creation of fill in pdf form will be on single server. (So whats license requirement for the server ??)
Ok, this puts important limitations on the project. The Acrobat SDK is
a set of tools for automating Acrobat. Acrobat is not for server use.
    >-- Forms created by server will be used by many differnt users to fill and save forms. (So you mean the users filling the forms require to have Adobe Acrobat professional ??)
Well, it depends what you want them to be able to do. There are three
    levels
    * Things which can always be done in Reader. For example: print a
form; submit form data (not PDF) to an http or https server.
    * Things which can be done in Reader if forms are given a "magic"
property called Reader Extensions. For Example: save the form, submit
in PDF format. This has serious cost implications. You would need a
separate server product to add these.
    * Things which can never be done in Reader.
    >-- We are creating AcroForm. (Whats version dependencies?)
These should work with Acrobat/Reader back to version 4. However the
magic of reader enabling only works with recent versions of Reader.
    >-- So do Adobe provide any component(dll, etc) that exposes APIs to create such type of forms ?
Adobe's server/enterprise solutions are under the general banner of
LiveCycle. There are lots of LiveCycle products, and unfortunately I
don't know their relative capabilities. It's possible that they do
NOT have a server product for making AcroForms, because much of
LiveCycle is aimed at new-style XFA forms. But, on the positive side,
since AcroForms are older techology there is a good chance you would
find a third party product to plug the gap.

  • Filling in Forms and Saving in Acrobat Reader

Hi, i have created form fields in a PDF document created in Acrobat 8, but when i open the document in Reader, it will not allow me to save the file with the form filled out, it will oly allow a blank document to be saved. Is there a way around this so that anyone opening the documet in reader can save the filled out form? There is no security setting and comments are NOT enabled. Any insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
    t

If you're using Acrobat 8 Pro, you can Reader-enable the document, which allows Reader to save a filled-in form. In Acrobat 9, the menu item to do this is "Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader", but I think it was something different in Acrobat 8. Check Acrobat's Help doc if you can't find it.

  • How to change security so its locked but can fill out forms and then save?

Hey there, i want to know how to make a PDF document locked (so you can't change anything) but you can fill out the forms and them save then with the edits in the forms done? Is there anyway to do this? Or do i need to take some settings off. So far I have made it so someone can write int he box, but then they can't change the edits at all.
    Thanks in advance.

    Create your form.
    go to advanced menu
choose the item about Reader Rights
when open set what you want Reader to be allowed to do.
Once set and saved the can fillout, save, email but they can not change the actual form itself just the contents they added.
Not there is a cap of 500 hundred instances per different PDF.
(Please note information is given by an Experienced User of Acrobat. I am not an employee of Adobe.)

  • Filling out form and suddenly it closes

I created a form using LiveCycle ES. The purpose is for members of our staff to simply access the blank form on our network, fill it in, print it out and submit to the office. However, many of our staff members are saying that they get about half way through the form and suddenly it just closes. Another issue is one particular text field goes blank after you tab to the next field.
    Any ideas???

I've read the article at the website provided. Can you provide specifics on what to add where. I'm working in Adobe Designer 7.0...are the changes to be made there or in the Adobe Prof 7.0 for the Client?

  • Yesterday, as today's deadline for filing tax returns approached, I was paralyzed by the inability to create new IRS PDF forms and to retrieve archived ones from a year ago. My computer went crazy. 24 hours later, I am still paralyzed. Can you help?

My computer went crazy yesterday on two occasions involving PDF documents. One dealt with attachments to an email from a bona fide corporation. The other dealt with IRS PDF forms & schedules needed for today's submission.
As both dealt with PDF and had nothing else in common, I suspected my PC had a virus. When I asked a local store technician, he agreed. I turned to Norton, which protects my PC from viruses, and after a few hours of really thorough searching, the computer was found to have no viruses.
Before describing what I call "crazy" computer behavior, you need to know that I have long had IE8 as my default browser but a few weeks ago switched to Mozilla Firefox because IE8 had beome incompatible with some websites from which I get information.
When I received the email from AT&T email service and clicked the first of four icons representing attachments, there was figuratively an explosion on my monitor: a series of new tabs, each called New Tab, burst onto the monitor--but no text or picture. The new tabs appeared faster than I coul kill them. I finally decided just to shut down the computer, hoping they would not reappear when I restarted. I was wrong. After 2 repeats, I decided to forget about the attachments and asked the sender to send them to me by regular mail.
That was no solution for my IRS PDFs. I wanted to complete filling in the various forms and schedules that I had begun months ago so that I could mail them today to the IRS (without having to copy them all in ink). When I tried to open the first one, BOOM. The same thing happened: the blizzard of New Tabs atop blank pages; my IRS form or schedule did not show up. Did the same shutdown/restart routine with the same results.
When I looked at the list of current forms that had to be completed, I noticed something very strange: the icons that began the listing of the documents' names were replaced one by one by Mozilla icons. When I moused over them, they said Firefox HTML. Why?
Starting the day today, I had the same experience. What's more, when I started to retrieve 2012 IRS PDFs from a year ago, the same New Tab tabs appeared and had to be killed, and Mozilla icons replaced whatever icon was there before.
Assuming that the problem arose with Adobe Reader's reading of the PDFs, I contacted Adobe but got no helpful phone number because PDFs are a free service and was directed to use this Forum to get help.
What do I have to do to (a) read and use PDFs in the normal way and (b) remove the Mozilla icon from those that have appeared on icon documents. If Mozilla is the source of the problem, shall I go back to IE8? (In my 80s, I want eventually to replace my old computer but for the time being I must continue using it. It will not take an IE9. Anther possible default browser would be Google Chrome, but I have unfavorable impressions of it because of its intrusiveness, loading my PC with stuff I do not need.
    Can you help?

The problem is absolutely not Reader. The problem is that FireFox has stepped in front of Reader and handles all the PDF stuff - wrongly in your case. FireFox is DESIGNED to take over PDF files. But it is not capable of doing IRS forms!
To start with go back to IE for these forms. When you save them to disk DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK ON THEM until this is fixed. Just open the in the normal way - start Adobe Reader and use Open from the File menu.
