Adapter between Backend and PI (XI)

Hello @ll,
i have some problems to create a Communication Channel between my SAP Backend and SAP PI (XI).
In my Issue, i want create with an Idoc-Adapter this connection, but i can't choose under the Adapter Type the button Sender, it's always Receiver on by IDoc Type.
That is my Route:
SAP Backend --> IDocAdapter(Sender) --> SAP PI --> FileAdapter(Receiver) --> NoSap System
Have anywhere help in this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Regards Gorbi

Hi Chirag,  thanks for your help.
Well, that means i don't need a Sender.
I have import the IDOC structure ORDERS05 and the mapping to XML work perfect. I have test the scenario with  FTP-Server --> FileAdapter(Sender) --> SAP PI --> FileAdapter(Receiver) --> FTP-Server
Under Integration Design i have create the follows parts:
- Business Component ->NoSap System
- Communcation Channel as Receiver (File-Adapter) -> NoSap System
- Receiver Agreement -> SAP PI to NoSap System
- Receiver Determenination -> SAP PI to NoSap System
- Interface Determenination -> SAP PI to NoSap System
That's all and correct?
How does my SAP Backend send the IDoc with structure of ORDERS05 to SAP PI?
SAP Backend(Config?) --> SAP PI --> FileAdapter(Receiver) --> NoSap System
For example:
I do a Transaction ME21 Vendor. What i should to do config in Backend for a connection to my SAP PI or rather send an IDOC.
Thanks Gorbi
EDIT -
Oh Chris i don't have see your Post - Thanks, i want to try that. Otherwise i hope my scenario is right.

  • Communication between PC/RM Backend and ERP System

    Hi,
Is it possible to have communication between PC/RM Backend and ERP System by cresting RFCUSER with user type communications data instead of Dialog user.
Because of audit policy , none of DIALOG user should have SAP_ALL profile.
Is there a option to set up communications  between PC/RM Backend and ERP System without a Dialog user setting.
    Pravin

    Hi Pravin,
You are right and the user should be always communication or system. GRC AC allows for the user to be communication or system. Can you try with PC/RM RFC user and see if it works? It should work

  • RFC Sender problem  between 46D and RFC adapter

    Hi,
    I have this simple integration scenario where I want to send data to a archiving system;
    SAP -> (tRFC) -> XI -> (MQ) -> BizTalk -> (MQ) Arch.syst.
    SAP side ***
    A Z-program using a Z func. like;
        CALL FUNCTION 'ZSD_DCF_SEND_TAG'
          IN BACKGROUND TASK
          DESTINATION 'XISYSTEM_TRFC_DCF'
          EXPORTING
            pt_filing_info = gt_filing.
        COMMIT WORK AND WAIT.
    XI side ***
Both IR and ID is configured correctly, in the development environment everything works just great. I have created a test program where I can define how many calls I will do, looping over the func. call with a commit inside the loop - 500 or more msgs are ok.
The integration scenario is transported to quality enviroment using CMS, and the RFC sender comm.ch. is configured accordingly.
    The problem in quality ***
When sending just 1 msg, everything is just fine, message received and delivered to MQ.
    When sending >= 2 msgs, the 1 msg is always ok, BUT all others fails due to the following from Adapter monitor;
    RFC_HISTORY
    - Error: 2006-01-19 10:55:18 CET: com.sap.aii.af.rfc.afcommunication.RfcAFWException: lookup of alternativeServiceIdentifier via CPA-cache failed for channel 'RFCSender_XI0002' (02d4d30de3593874942ed0659add0827, party '', schema 'TechnicalSystem', identifier 'Q93#120')
    - OK: 2006-01-19 10:55:17 CET: Message processed for interface ZSD_DCF_SEND_TAG
My sending system is Q93 CLI 505 so I can understand the error, BUT I cannot understand why the RFC adapter is saying the TechnicalSystem is Q93#120 - it should be Q93#505. My Q XI has client 120...
It seems to me that the RFC adapter is kind of confused about the sender..
I have created a OSS message and SAP has looged on and looked into it with both a XI expert and RFC expert without being able to answer - all is configured correctly.
    - The SLD config. for bus.system Q93 is ok -
    - The bus.system in ID is showing correct vaues for
Adapter Specific Identifiers (SID Q93, client 505)
    - Both Dev. and Qual. environment are running on XI 3.0 SP 14 latest patch, RFC component version on the SAP side is identical between dev. and qual. SAP systems
    - It doesn't matter which gw I use (Q93 gw or XI gw), the error is persistent
    - It doesn't matter if I increase initial conn, max conn.
I have also tried to use qRFC instead, but with the same result.
Anyone using tRFC for asynch. communication from SAP to XI seeing something similar?
Meanwhile, I will do RFC trace on GW and RFC Adapter on AE....
Please, do not say SP15, oss msg for FAQ RFC adapter or links to RFCAdapter config....
    best regards

    Hi,
    SAP Note 730870 FAQ: XI 3.0 RfcAdapter Q.no 15
<i>Q 15: Whats wrong when the error message "lookup of alternativeServiceIdentifier via CPA-cache failed" shows up while sending a RFC call to the RfcAdapter?
A: A RFC sender channel is located beneath a service within the Integration Directory. Within this service choose "Service" -> "Adapter-Specific Identifiers". The values in the fields "R/3 System ID" and "Client" has to be maintained with the correct values of the system, that sends the RFC call to the RfcAdapter. It normaly only makes sense to have these values filled for services of type "Business System". If maintained in SLD, this fields will be filled automaticaly for services of type "Business System" and can be updated with the button "Compare with System Landscape Directory".</i>
    - Give correct appserver and gateway service details in XI.
    - Open the service holding the RFC adapter you are trying to use. On the top menu, goto Service -> Adapter Specific Identifiers..

  • Difference in idoc adapter header mapping between SP14 and SP19

    Hi All,
    i have a very strange problem.......i have 2 XI systems : XI-sandbox and XI-dev.....
    XI-sandbox is on XI3.0 SP19 whereas XI-dev is on XI3.0 SP14...........
I have a file->XI->idoc scenario which is same on both XI-sandbox and XI-dev....
in receiver idoc adapter, i am using header mapping for sender service and in the sender service i am using XPATH of a field of control rec of idoc.........
this scenario works fine on XI-sandbox which is on SP19 and the idocs are sent to SAP R/3 sandbox...........but this scenario on XI-dev gives error in SXMB_MONI in XI-dev of Call adapter - "No party conversion found".........
So my question is that is there any difference in idoc adapter header mapping between SP14 and SP19.........

    ><i>so i cant use apply control rec values from payload.........</i>
    rajeev,
I know this has nothing to do with the original problem but please do bear.
If I undertood you posts correct, the Sender Partner Name is set in the Idoc Control record in the field SNDPRN in the mapping using some mapping logic.
Now, this is the partner name with which the idoc is to be posted to thge R3 system.
if yes, then like I have pointed above, using "Take Sender From Payload" in the Receivcer Idoc Adapter is a better option as pointed in the SAP help as well.
As you are already populating the idoc control ecord with SNDPRN just make the SNDPRT as LS and then select "Take Sender from Payload" in the receiver Idoc adapter and the Sender Partner Name will not be taken from SDNPRN just as you want.
This is different from "Apply Control Records From Payload" .

  • How to test the connection between DSD backend and DSD connector

    Dear all,
I am configuring the MDSD scenario .. and i want to insure that my customization is correct
How to test the connection between DSD Backend and DSD connector ??

    Hi Viren,
    The problem is:
We have a new BW system. The basis people asked me to check the connection between this BW system and the R/3. There is only one client for now(100). I have logged into 100 and tried executing RSA1 to check the connection, but it gave a message box saying "You can only work in Client 000". Then I have treid logging into 000(just to make sure) and tried executing RSA1. Even here I got a message saying "The SAP BW system must not be operated in client 000". Now, I am not sure of what is wrong in clien 100. I am not sure if I have to do some settings before I access RSA1 or any other BW transaction. Could you please help me in this.
Also, I just checked the RFC destinations in BW. There is a destination created for our R/3 and I have noticed that they have given a remote UserID and password for remote login. I tried to check the Remote UserID in SU01 but there is no userID with that name. Could this be a problem?
    Thanks,
    RPK.

  • Could someone help me to clearly distinguish between SOAP and HTTP adapter?

In which scenarios we can go for HTTP adapter and when to go for SOAP adapter?

    Hi Lekshmi !!
A SOAP message will be bundled inside the soap envelope.HTTP is not an adapter in adapter engine whereas soap is an adapter i.e, HTTP doesn't require a communication channel where as SOAP requires. You can send soap messages using some SOAP client.
SOAP Adapter is used to xchange SOAP messages bw remote clients and webservices....
check this link for more differences..
    SOAP and HTTP adapter
When you need to Send Data to XI from a Webservice , your SOAP adapter is used.
HTTP adapter is used when you want to post a HTTP request message from a web application to XI.
How can i make use of SOAP Sender Adapter without using any tools like XML Spy etc....
XML SPy is used as a TEST tool when you are sending SOAP information to XI. TO actually send data , you need to configure a webservice and construct a SOAP request message and post the data .
we use SOAP adapter when we need to connect to remote system or use Webservices in these cases we use SOAP adapter.
HTTP Adapter is used by extenal systems to connect to Intergartin server using native HTTP Interface.
the http adapter is a service which is directly connected to integration engine. Adapter Framework (Java) isnt involved. It is much more performant than SOAP adapter.
The SOAP adapter is written in Java and is responsible for the SOAP envelope around the real XML message. You can build/remove that envelope as well in the mapping and use instead http adapter. But standard for webservices is using SOAP adapter.

  • Powerbook alternates between battery and adapter when plugged in

The other day my PB started alternating between battery and adapter when plugged in: the symbol changes from batt to charging every few seconds, brightness goes up and down. I've managed to find a position where it will actually charge. I even tried a new adapter, but it's still extremely temperamental.
I'm afraid there's something wrong with the internal power jack, but is there anything else it could be? Any way to tweak the jack?
    Thanks!

No, there's no way to "adjust" the port. It's soldered to a small Sound/DC-In card inside the Powerbook. What's apparently happened to yours is that the cord has been jerked rougly up, down or sideways one time too many, and one or more of the solder joints has broken. Because it's now able to move, however slightly, the rest of the joints are also being stressed every time you connect or disconnect the cord. Sooner or later another will break, then another. You'll end up having to replace the card when you can no longer shim or jimmy the port so it makes proper contact.
If you're very good at very small-scale soldering, you could take the card out and try to repair it, but if you're an average ham-handed Joe like me, replacing the board is a better bet. Getting to it, while not actually difficult, is a pretty considerable adventure in an Albook, because nearly everything else has to be removed from the case first to reach it.

  • Comparison between split Adapter in Seeburger and EDI Separator

    Hello All,
Currently we are designing EDI interfaces using B2B Add-On.
I am trying to compare the split Adapter of Seeburger and EDI Separator of B2B Add-on.
    In Seeburger Splitter configuration:
The additional split configuration helps to map the Sender ID, (EDIType,Transaction,Version) combination to split channel and sender agreement.
I believe a List of Sender Id, Mappings (Standard, Transaction, Version) combinations can be added to the same Split channel and Sender Agreements.
    In B2B Add-On:
The sender ids , EDI details are directly mentioned in the channel and it is bound to sender agreement.
Does it reduce the flexibility in EDI Scenarios. Is that a correct point of view?
    Your inputs highly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Sudharshan N A

    Dear Sudharshan,
yes, I would say that this is a correct point/observation. When the Seeburger Adapters were introduced many years ago, one focus was put on the flexibility by keeping all functionality related to the "format conversion" (Classifier/Bic/Splitter) completely separated from the "data transmission" functionality directly in the channel.
This way, the format conversion modules could be included in any adapter that was running on the AdapterEngine and not just to the See-Adapters.
In a typical setup on client side, almost all inbound channels were using the "AUTO" functionality to detect all required parameters to select the right Split-Channel...so all channels had the same module-chains included (no matter if it was an AS2-Channel or a simple FILE/FTP-channel.
This also allowed for easy reprocessing of any received file (via AS2, X400 , OFTP or else....) by just putting the file again to a file-channel with the same module-chain parameters.
    Kind Regards
    Stefan
Btw... I am not very familiar with the B2B AddOn, but if you have additional questions regarding the Seeburger-EDI-Adapters, feel free to ask...

  • No connection between ECC and PI

    Hello,
I have developed proxy to file interface but I am not able to see any data flow between backend ECC and PI systems. I have gone through different blogs and forum threads to troubleshoot... creating RFC destinations, testing through RWB message, SLD configurations, SICF, etc. but I am not able to see any data going out of or into ECC. When I check SXMB_MONI or RWB message monitoring, I don't see any message either failed or success.
I don't think ECC is connecting to PI. I am able to create proxy in ECC and configure both inbound and outbound proxy but I don't see any data go through ECC. I am able to import RFC and IDocs in Integration Repository. Can anyone suggest what could be the problem and how to resolve it?

    Hi Experts,
I am using CE 7.2 on localhost and I am very new to SAP.
I need to know how can I get SSO between Portal and Java WD.  I have a WD application that displays the logged in user using "IUser currentUser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser().getSAPUser()", as well I can use "IUser user = UMFactory.getAuthenticator().getLoggedInUser()".  Both work.
Q1. What is the difference in the 2 above?
Q2. My WD application is set to authenticate user.  The WD application is in URL iView.  I need SSO between Portal and WD application.   Is there a way to get this SSO without SAP Backend (ECC), for now I just need SSO between Portal and Java WD appl.
    Everything is in localhost.
    Please advice. Thanks.

Then I suggest you ask your question in the Web Dynpro Java forum instead of the Web Dynpro ABAP one.

  • Role mapping between Portal and Back end systems

I am new to SAP EP.
I just want to know how the mapping between portal and back end system happens.
Scenario : There is a role in ECC system...say FI India. Now there is a request by the FI team that they want to access this role from Portal. In this case, please tell me how the security team will do it. Because I guess, it has to be done by the security team.

    Hi,
Usually the role from backend is uploaded to portal then it will be seen as Group and we need to assign our portal roles to this group. Please refer [this|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/d6/7859ec80df46738e23ccb4f4c8c502/content.htm].

  • Relationship between Portal and back-end roles in business package

    Hi all,
I wonder how technically works on the backend system when I install a BP for SAP EP. Let's say for example that I installed on the portal the business package for SRM. I will have on the Portal some roles configured (buyer, supplier, invoice manager, etc), and some iviews in them organized by pages and workest.
How can I see the relations with those roles and the roles on the SRM backend system? And then: if I modify a standard role on the Portal, adding new functionalites (iviews), I do update the backend role? We are going to implement SSO, and users will be the same on Portal and backend system. But that also means I need to assign users to backend roles on the backend system, isn't it?
I would be glad to you if someone can provide me also a link to a document explaining the relationshipe between backend roles management and portal roles management.
    Thanks a lot,
    Valentina

To add.. no, you will not update a backend SRM role if you update an iView on the Portal. The Backend roles will always be assigned to the user via PFCG and do not change automatically with the Portal roles.
This help document might help you understand the concept better (Look at the Permissions vs Authorisations section):
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c605c690-0201-0010-e8b5-94677245a46b
Hope this helps. I am sure SAP/SDN library has many such documents that you can read through.
