Add a preLoader to an Image.

Can any one help me?
I want to add a preLoader to individual images in a flash
movie. For example, all the image will be on the site, in separate
category's. i.e. "photography", design, "wedding photography" and a
whole lot more. I don't want to add a preLoader to the start of the
movie, it will take to long. I want a preLoader on each image. A
person will click on a category, be taken there, the first image
will show up, with preLoader, move the mouse to see the menu of all
the images click on the one they want, it preLoads and so on and so
on. Hear is a perfect example of the effect I'm after>

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial that
can help me??

MovieClipLoader class will load the images externally,
therefore helping with file size. and you can use onLoadProgress to
display some sort of loading animation and onLoadInit to do
something once the first frame has executed.

Preloader for xml image gallery

Hi,
I am a little stuck as to where to begin; I have created a
photo gallery and now need to add some preloader capability to it.
The images are brought in via XMLList etc... What I have in mind, I
would like to display a preloader untill all the images are ready
for viewing - not wanting to preload individual images one by one
I also have a document class within the gallery swf file, I
beleive that this may cause conflicts with attaching a preloader to
frame 1 - I have tried preloading the gallery swf file via a
preloader.swf; the end result still leaves me with having to
provide a preloader within the gallery swf.
Can anyone point me to any good examples, for me to get on
with it. Any help would be really appreciated folks ;)

Is it possible to add a preloader to show while the graphics are loading?

I created a web site that has quite a few show/hide divs to work with the navigational menu on the left, which I believe is making the site load slowly. Is it possible to add a preloader to show up until the site is fully loaded?
The site originally had a flash movie that was set to load automatically. I removed this thinking it would make the site load quicker but it didn't help much.

What's making that page load slowly is the 57 hits on the server to request images, and the combined weight of those images (~3.3MB). Surely you don't need so many images. The menu could be done all text for starters. Note also that there is still a 120K Flash object being loaded. Add to this weight the incredibly voluminous CSS (oodles of absolute positioning), and the table-based approach, and you have made a simple layout into a lumbering behemoth!

I have added an Image Item to a page and want to be able to add a link to that image but dont see any where you can put the link in the Image Item properties

One easy way to do this would be to add an image page, upload your image to the page, then create an html portlet with the appropriate tags to refer to the image and your link.

I designed an electronic press kit and I need the video to play on it. I'm getting the video link from YouTube so I was wondering how to make that happen. I already tried putting the YouTube link behind the video layer so it can be clickable in Acrobat, but when I sent it to the online magazine forum there was a lot of lines in it. That tutorial is extremely old. ImageReady was last used in CS2. In other words that program no longer exists.
Luckily video made its way into photoshop so you can easily import your video into photoshop.
Instead of an animation panel, it is now called the timeline panel. When the panel first opens it will ask you if you want an animation or a movie. Choosing movie will reduce the number of layers required down to just 2, one for the movie and one for the TV image. Since this is a timeline, you can split the timeline to remove any portion of the video you do not want or need to add an effect to that area of the timeline. Each time you split the video, it will move it to a new layer for you.
You can still export as an animated gif by using the File>Save As dialog box. or You can export as a movie and choose another video format. Which format and codec you can choose will depend on how many other video apps of Adobe's you also have installed.

I have published a project as a swf file and my colleague has setup a link to the fine in Zendesk. When you click to play the movie there is a fairly long delay till the swf loads. How do I add a preloading icon that shows something is loading and how can I start the movie before the whole project is loaded.

How to add a preloader bar to a swf file made in InDesign?

I have created a swf file in InDesign CS4 and now that I added the swf to my website, it takes a little bit to download, but the problem is that it doesn't show a downloading progress or anything.
How can I changes this either in InDesign or using preloader for the swf file so people don't leave my pages thinking there is nothing to see.
I'm not familiar with preloaders or actionscript.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The easiest way to add a border around an image is to use a simple border filter. Select the image layer and click the filter button in the tool bar and select border>simple border. In the HUD or filter tab in the inspector you can set the width, color and whether you want the border inside or outside of the image.

Aperture cannot add GPS data to multiple images at the same time

I am new to Aperture and have been using it for a week or so now. Today I tried to add GPS data to a number of images and found out, it appears Aperture can only add GPS data to one image at the time. When I select multiple images to add the GPS data to, it just doesn't do anything. It leaves the GPS data blank.
Here is what I do:
From the Info-tab I select "GPS" from the drop down menu
At the bottom of the info tab I show the map
In the map's search box I enter the location I want to assign to the photo(s)
From the resulting drop down menu I select the locatiion I want and press the "assign to location" button
As long as I choose only a single image, this works fine and the GPS Data is added. Not so when I select more than a single image. After pressing the "assign to location" button it seems as if the GPS data is added (there is no message indicating otherwise), but the GPS data in the selected images is blank.
What am I doing wrong ?
Additional info
I have been testing this a bit more and the behavior is even more strange: When you select multiple images in Aperture, they get a thin white border, except the one that you touch last (normally the last image of the selection) that will have a thicker border around it. It appears that, when selecting multiple images, the GPS data is ONLY assigned to the photo in the selected setthat has the thicker border (?????)

Rereading your post, I think the problem is, that you are assigning the location from the Info panel and not from the Metadata menu. The Info panel and the Metadata menu ar behaving differently.
The Info panel will always only affect the primary selection, but the Metadata menu will work on all selected images (unless "Primary only" is checked). So , if you want to assign your location to multiple images, use "Metadata > Assign location" instead of the little map in the "Info" panel.
Or use the "Places" view. Then you can drag all images at once to the same pin on the map.

Unable to Add Alt Tags to Placed Images

I am developing a flyer that will be distributed as a PDF, and our requirement is that it be "Section 508" compliant, that is, readable by a screen reader. I am trying to add alt tags to the images in order to meet this requirement, but when I go to Object -> Object Export Options and click on the Alt Text tab, theAlt Text Source pull-down menu is greyed out and does not allow me to do anything.
Does anyone have any idea of what is wrong here?

It's working for me in the current version of InDesign CC.
Version of InDesign? Computer platform? What file format is the image in?

Add caption to MS Word image using activex

I used LabVIEW to add an image at a bookmark in a Word document. Now I'm trying to add a caption to that image, but having no luck. I keep getting errors on my InsertCaption method--either "Error -2146824090 occurred at Exception occured in Microsoft Word: Command failed" or Type mismatch, depending on the parameters I use.
I've browsed this forum and others, but can only find solutions for those that have the report generation toolkit, which I do not.
Code is attached. Any ideas?

Preloader for multiple images

I want to create a preloader which loads multiple images at a
time.
i tried the normal script with getBytesTotal() but it
provides the bytes of currently loading image, so the preloader
only works for one image at a time.
how can i get the size of all images that i want to load ?

I can load the images in sequence one after another. But
there are few points to be considered here.
1. I want to display all images at once, when they all are
loaded.
2. I want to display only one preloader for all images while
they are loading.
3. I can't hardcode the size of images because images will
keep changing for the movie. So i can't use a particular size. (and
hardcoding the values for dynamic data is not a good coding
practice i guess.
