Add are you sure question to button
Hello, I just want to be able to add an "Are you sure" question to the "Clear entire Form" button I have, in case they click the button on accident or something.. If anyone can help that would be great..
Thanks
// ask question and capture response
cResponse = app.alert("Are you sure you want to clear this form?", 2, 2);
if(cResponse == 4) {
// Yes response - then clear the form
this.resetForm();

I wanted to delete untitled group in address book. Up popped a notice, "Are you sure you want to delete the group "untitled group"? There is a cancel button and a delete button. Upon clicking on neither one, nothing happens. The notice obscures the address book. How do I get it removed?
I just posted the same problem. Your post is more than two weeks old. Have you had a response yet?

How to add for wikipages the popup " are you sure you want to leave this page" on edit
Our users complain about hitting the backspace button in a wiki page, sometimes the I.E. goes back and loose their changes. I could get a jquery popup but I don't know how to know that the wiki page is in edit mode and not in view mode.Do you know how/what
to check with javascript in order to know the mode of the page?
Thank you
ChristosJquery has a specific function that allows you to add this sort of thing to general SharePoint pages. I've not tried it in my own environment but some good useful starter information can be seen on a similar thread at Stack exchange.
See if this is of any use for you

The send and spell check options are next to each other. I can not tell you how many times I hit the send button be accident. When sending, and question of 'Are you sure you want to send now?', should be asked.
ThanksActually, unless something has changed, you can set Thunderbird to run an automatic spell check when you click Send. That might be your best workaround.
Tools menu > Options > Composition panel > Spelling mini-tab
(You can display the classic menu bar by tapping the Alt key)
It might also be possible to customize the toolbar, but I think this might be safer.
Regarding a general confirmation for sending, I noticed some add-ons for that, but I don't have any personal recommendations. -
Given that the turn off javascript option will be disabled - how do I close a page that does not allow me to leave by giving a "are you sure you want to leave" pop up question but then redirects to itself where it again asks that question perpetually?
The only way to kill a page like that sofar was to disable javascript and then close the tab.
Now I will have to close the browser - and possibly loose all the tabs I have open.
I want a javascript quick switch - allowing me to easily disable javascript for any page at will.
(esp for some of my older, slower netbooks)
Or at least a "FORCE CLOSE" option for malicious webpages.Hi ronc2, there isn't a specific setting for this. Firefox's built-in JavaScript settings allow you to control several aspects of scripts*, but unfortunately not this one.
I previously tried to find some other options for individually turning off this event, but I couldn't find a way. Someone might be able to create an add-on to solve this problem, but it will take someone cleverer than I.
Extensions that disable scripts on a site-specific basis:
* If you regularly visit some sites which do this, you can block JavaScript on that specific site using the YesScript extension. Unfortunately, other script-based functionality will be blocked as well.
* YesScript does not preemptively block scripts on every site. If you have to visit a lot of random sites and want to take a paranoid approach of having scripting blocked until you see as much of the site as you can see without running scripts, then the NoScript extension would be for you. But even then it's "all or nothing".
''* These include: JavaScript enabled yes/no, override right-click menu yes/no, change order of windows yes/no, move and resize windows yes/no, close windows yes/no, specific features of pop-up windows, change images yes/no, detect copy/cut/paste and modify selection yes/no.'' -
Hello,
Accidentally moving a directory on directory tree happens on occassion
shall be a question: ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO MOVE DIR1 to DIR2.
I have a TB profile on USB stick and 2 or 3 times happen that I moved
accidentally one diretory onto another and run out of space.
Thunderbird TB crushed and lost lot of emails.
There shall be a popup asking: ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO MOVE DIR1 to DIR2
preventing to do that action automatically as it is unstoppable and unreversable
and in case of low disk space leads to DB corruption.
Best Regards and please continue great job in developing Thunderbird!And I think it would be a very nice enhancement and shall be added anyway.
(After first popup, there shall be a checkbox - do never ask again)
Once you face the problem (don't now how big your DB is, mine 20GB, 9 years) then maybe you change your mind. How many times a day you reorganize your folders? Have your moved a folder bigger then 2 or 3 GB by click? -
Button Prompt "Are you sure?"
I have a delete button on one of my applications that has a "PROCESS" that has SQL statements that delete a record once depressed. Once you click this button, it deletes instantly. Is there a way to have a popup or something of the sort ask "Are you sure you want to delete this record?" or something of the sort with "Yes" or "No" buttons; Yes continues, No cancels the process?

Thanks all. :) -
The inquiry "are you sure you want to delete the album..." appeared. I don't want to delete, but there is no place to cancel or say no. The rest of the system is frozen. How do I get out of this?
What version of iPhoto and system are you ruinning? Is this occurring within iPhoto? If iPhoto is frozen then use the ➙ Force Quit (Command+Option+Escape key combination) menu option to force quit out of iPhoto.

I have used FireFox to play the Game Kingdoms Of Camelot, a facebook game. I also have Grease Monkey and a 3rd party add on. I leave it running 24/7 to gather food in the game for my army. It has run smoothly for 6 mo. Yesterday 2/04/11 in the morning it started asking for conformation when the page refreshed. i want to know how to stop this Box from comeing up it will not continue without refreshing and will not refresh untill th question is answered. It says "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page."
You're not going to stop it, and out here, what's illegal?
What it boils down to is a matter of ethics, and it's wrong. But the web
techies build this feature into their sites because they know somebody
is going to fly in off an engine like Google or MSN. And take something,
like a picture. Without stopping in and signing up or something else.
But what if I or you is out collecting stamps or avatars or wallpapers,
and have already taken a quiz, or signed up for a product? I've already
done that...but the site developers who use this ingenious(hijacking)
software don't see it that way, and don't care if you just got a computer
and want to pick up something here or there. Those sites don't get
anything when you visit and don't leave your number. I don't what
these 19 tracking cookies are for, do you?

Hi, I recently put music on my ipad (manually, I do not sync because I dont like leaving music in my itunes) I realised they take up a lot of space because of the bit rate so I went into iTunes and pressed "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC" Then I pressed apply and I got the message "Are you sure you want to remover 113 apps......." I have checked and sync Apps is unticked so my question is why does it say this and is there a way around it. Also if i tick convert to AAC will it convert the songs already on my ipad or just ones I add from now on.

Why not? That's what it is for.
So Restoring your iPad when it crashes and losing all your music is acceptable to you?
Then I pressed apply and I got the message "Are you sure you want to remover 113 apps......." I have checked and sync Apps is unticked so my question is why does it say this and is there a way around it.
Since you now want to sync the iPad and have told it you do not want to sync apps, it will remove them all.
Check the apps you want on the iPad.
Also if i tick convert to AAC will it convert the songs already on my ipad or just ones I add from now on.
It will only convert new songs added to the iPad. -
I got a "new" iphone from the Apple store when my dog bit the phone and cracked the front. This new phone will not play any music, ie no sound will come out. I can watch videos with sounds but no music from any of my playlists. I checked with Apple and was told to try to restore my iphone. I did all the necessary prep work like backing up and syncing and then hit the restore button on the iTunes page. A file menu icon popped up with a blank in it and I do not know what file I need to put in the window as where it needs to find a file to restore the phone. I never got a message that said are you sure you want to restore the phone. I need some help if anyone knows how to do this or should I just go back to the Apple store (which is over an hour away)? Thanks
I am syncing my iphone to my iTunes account and then I do a backup and also making sure all updates are current. Then by going to the my phone and then going to the right and selecting the restore my iphone.
Here is a picture of what I get -
Message "are you sure you want to shut down your computer now"
I am in OS 10.8.5 on a Mac Pro. I get repeated message upon start-up "are you sure you want to shut down your computer now?" Restarting does not stop the message. Nor does canceling it. It keeps occuring, blocking my ability to do applications. Because it comes to the front all the time, and the "shutdown" button is lit, if I inadvertently hit a return key while typing something else, the computer shuts down. I have a western digital backup disk-dismounting that has no effect. I have also run the disk utility permissions repair a few times to no avail.
Thanks for any advice.
Nov 26, 2013This might happen if your power button is malfunctioning. Remember a slight tap of the power button will bring up that screen. Bring it in for service if it is readily reproducible.

How do I prevent "are you sure?" pop-up when trying to exit a web page?
The "are you sure you want to leave this page?" pop up whenever I try to exit a web page is driving me crazy. There must be a way to prevent it but I've found no solution. One reply to the forum called it the "onbeforeclose" and suggested it might be eliminated in the "about:config" part of Firefox, but searching "about:config" I found no such entry. What can be done to stop this highly irritating pop up and prevent it from ever appearing again?
My problem is that none of the suggestions other than completely shutting off JAVA will stop the problem.
It is very annoying to go to a site and try to leave, and even try closing the browser and not be allowed to due to a running script.
The only way I have found out of it is to unplug the internet connection, and restart the computer. When I get the prompt about oops etc about not knowing what to do either go back to the site that gave me the problems or start over. I start over, then connect the internet.
I and others should not need to go though this with ransomeware such as the FBI attack that says it will unlock your system for $200. Or the numerous infomercials that also will no let me and many others go. This problem is also in Internet Explorer, and a few other browsers.
What does it take to keep these scripts from allowing people to leave a page or close the browser? Me and many more want to know, and because the problem exists I have OPERA as a backup browser as it does not get hijacked, but it does not have the ability to have the features and add ons that are available for FireFox. -
An alert mesage e.g(Are you sure you want to delete)
Hi all,
How can I come up with the alert message within the jsp pages?
Is my first time to do that? Actually I want to delete the records. But before
I delete I want to get an alert message e.g. are you sure you want to delete?
If you press OK button then it proceed to delete. And if you press CANCEL
Than it will go back to that same page.
Please help.Such an alert must be programmed as client side, not server side code. It's not java but javascript and it runs on the client's browser, not on your server.
You include an element like:
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="Javascript1.2">
function askDelete() {
return confirm("Do you really want to delete this?");
</SCRIPT>
<INPUT TYPE="submit" name="delete" value="Delete"
onClick="return askDelete();">An onClick handler on a submit or image input field that returns a value blocks the action if the return is false. -
We have 2 load balanced application servers that map drives with programs on them for users from a central server that are giving the warning "We can't verify who created this file. Are you sure you want to run this file?". Basically how it works
is a user logs in to one or the other application servers (for example, 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.2) and runs a log on script that maps an L:\ drive to the users folder on the central storage server (10.0.0.100). When the user goes to launch the .exe from the L:\
drive it presents that warning.
I've looked around and have seen recommendations that you need to add the site to the local intranet zone for IE, but when I try to add L:\ it tells me that I have entered an invalid sequence. It appears that you can only put network shares in that location,
which is not how we're mapping the drive.
Has anyone run in to this before and knows how to resolve it?
Thanks!Hi,
A mapped drive letter is not supported so please try to input \\server or \\server\folder to see if it will help.
If you have any feedback on our support, please send to [email protected]
