Add Contacts to Specific Group/Account - Gmail?

I have 2 different email/contact accounts on my iPhone. One uses Maas360 to sync with my corporate Exchange account, the other is my personal Gmail account. I can't seem to find a way to add contacts to a specific group or account without changing the default Contacts account in Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> Contacts > Default Account.
I'm a recent convert from a Blackberry where this was trivial: just select which account to associate the contact with when adding the contacts. I can't seem to find a quick/easy way to do the same with iOS7. Am I missing something? Checking/changing the default contacts setting every time is a pain...

I recently swapped over from Android for the iPhone 6 and I'm flabbergasted at such an oversight. This phone is certainly a powerful play toy. I love the camera and the attention to little details like all the stuff that "just works". But then they stand on stage and tout their "most advanced mobile OS" but it must be for children. Those of us with a job - and an exchange account to go with it - will surely want to also have our personal contacts separated from our work. This should be called iPlayskoolphone.

You're missing some basic features here Apple. Please get it together. This is 2014; it's not 2007 anymore.

I'd like to know if I could add contacts to different email accounts in iOS 8 without having to change the default Contacts account and only using my iOS device!

You should be able to -
If you go into Settings - Mail / Contacts
You see Groups at the top left corner
Adding to those groups will keep your contacts separate - although you have to check the group name for the contact to appear in the list

Look in Mail > Preferences > Composing tab > If you want all the email addresses to show, check "When sending to a group, show all member addresses". If unchecked, just the groupname should appear.
If it still doesn't work then review the email addresses for each of the group members looking for errors in format.
Also, clean up the list in previous recipients in Mail > Window > Previous Recipients.

Add Contact/Leave Conversation Group Messaging Feature

Anyone experiencing an issue adding a contact or leaving a conversation using iOS 8.1 on the iPhone 6? My "Add Contact' and "Leave this Conversation" feature are not visible when I view a group message. Any ideas on how to resolve?

Add contacts to address group and they disappear

I have a Macbook Pro with the old operating system. I am attempting to put together email groups and am having trouble. When I am in an open email and highlighting the name, I click on the down arrow and add sender to address book. The name does not appear in my address book and the option to add to address book is gone.
Also, once I add a group to my contacts, how can I send an email to everyone in the group and how can I do so without showing everyone's email address?

I am aware of adding a contact to Address Book by Control-clicking the email address, however I would like to add an address directly from Mail to an Address Book group. How is this done?

You first need to open the message(s) that have the addresses you want to add to Address Book, then select the Add Addresses… script from the Mail Scripts folder listed in the Scripts icon in the menu bar (you can activate this by launching the AppleScript Utility.app program in HD/Applications/AppleScript and check the box labelled "Show Script Menu in menu bar" if it isn't already there).
The script will launch and gather the information it needs about those messages, including the To: and From addresses and present them to you in a window; you need only check which ones you want to add and select the group you want them to go to from the drop-down menu it has and click Add or Okay, or whatever it has listed there to execute the script.

Cannot add contacts to any section below Workgroup on Relationships tab

In Lync, when I click over to the "Relationships" tab and can see "Friends and Family," etc., sections, I am able to add contacts from my "Groups" tab no problem to either "Friends and Family" or "Workgroup."
However I cannot add contacts to any of the other sections. For example, I add a person to "Workgroup" and he shows up; then I drag him onto the "Colleagues" section and he disappears. The comment "No one's in this access
level" never goes away.
What is the trick to adding people to the other sections in the "Relationships" tab?

Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
Did the contact exist on Group Tab after dragging the contact from “Workgroup” to “Colleagues”?
You can login Lync client on other computer with your Lync account to have a test. If it works normally, you can delete user profile on your issued local workstation, restart Lync client and test again.
You can also login Lync client on your computer with other well-worked Lync account to have a test.
Please update to the latest version for Lync client as well.

Adding email addresses to SPECIFIC groups in Address book

Hi
I have created a folder in MAIL which receives specific mails. I want to add all these senders to a SPECIFIC group in my address book. The only option I see will add all these senders to my general address book and that's no good since I want to be able to contact this specific group only.
Is that possible and how ?

The script you want to use from the collection of included scripts is Add Addresses (Mail) which adds addresses found in the selected messages (in the header fields "From", "To", "Cc", and "Bcc") to the Address Book. This is much more flexible than the "Add Sender to Address Book" available in Mail and provides a convenient way for creating mailing lists.
* Select all messages you want to use for creating the mailing list (for creating a mailing list, you would choose all messages in a mailbox which contains all messages on a certain topic).
* Run the script and you get a list with all addresses contained in the selected messages - mark all the addresses you want to add to the Address Book using the checkboxes.
* From the popup menu, choose which group you want to update with the selected addresses or select "Create new Group..." and enter the name for the new group to be created.
* The script checks whether an address is already present before adding it to the Address Book in order to avoid duplicate entries. If additional information is available for an entry already present in the Address Book (e.g., full name information for an entry which had prior been email-only), the entry will be updated.

After receiving a call on my iPhone 4s I decide I want to add their number to a specific group in my contacts using the "Create New Contact" option. When I do this it only is established in the "All Contacts" group. Is there a way to add it directly to a specific group?

I too am frustrated with that. I've come up with a little work around that works for me though so see what you guys think.
I most often run into this right after I have spoken to a prospect about Windsurfing gear and so I immediately want to put them into my Windsurfing gear prospects. I would do this by adding them as a contact and putting windsurf as the company in the contact so that when I got back to my desktop I would do a search for windsurf and add the contacts from that day to the Windsurf group.
Today I discovered, if you go into the specific group, you can click the plus sign at the top right and add a new contact right into that group. Unfortunately you cannot grab their number from recent calls, BUT, you can go to recent calls once you have made this new contact in whatever group you wanted to create it in and click add to existing contact and voila, there ya go.
It could be easier for sure but this works while on the go.

How can I sync a specific group of contacts from Address Book to Google?

Let's say I have two contact groups: one is called 'Colleagues', another is 'Friends',
how can I only sync 'Friends' to Gmail contacts?
As I tried to sync my Address Book to Gmail contacts, all of them (both 'Colleagues' & 'Friends') were sync'd to Gmail contacts.
I can't find a way to deal with it.

(1) I set up Address Book <-> Gmail contacts sync in this way: went to Address Book, then went to 'Preferences...' -> 'Accounts' -> 'Account Information' -> ticked 'Synchronize with Google'

You can create groups in your iCloud account at www.icloud.com. Once created, they will appear on your iPhone.

Contacts app? no accounts. can't add one. won't save a new contact.

My Contacts app shows no accounts, I cannot add an account local or cloud, and if I add a contact it is not saved to disk. Anyone have any idea what is going on? and how I might fix it. Other apps in this group (Calendar, Mail, Notes, etc) seem to be working normally.

I'm having this as well. I have a 15 inch Retina MacBook Pro (late 2013). I added an iCloud account in the preferences panel, and it added it successfully to email and calendar but not contacts, even though it is checked. I've tried to add it from within contacts, signed out of iCloud and signed back in, and restarted the computer with no success.
I can't sync with iCloud or add a new contact.
