Add On Starts only once
Hello to all,
we are facing a problen with single sign on to SBO. Add On connect works only once, the second time, after stopping the Add On from SBO Add On Manager, SBO shows a message, 'Add On Time' out or 'Invalid Connection string'.
This happens only in a particular workstation/installation. When restarting SBO it works again, but only once.
Installed Versions : Windows 2003 Server SP 1, SBO 2005A SP01 PL 50.
Has someone an idea ?

Lets do a full install. But do it this way;

• Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla and Firefox folders by adding '''.old''' to them.
Now run the full installer.
If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.

It's been a while now that I've noticed my addons not working on Mozilla DE in Ubuntu. Addons are installed correctly and, indeed, they show up when I use mozilla sync in other computers.

It works only once. I can install my addons again, but as soon as I close firefox and open it again the addons dissapear from the top bar and customization window. Need to run start routine only once
I understand that for every data package from ODS to Cube, the start routine is run. But I need to run it only once. Is there anyway to achieve this? As the programming logic doesn't really do anything to the data package, I don't need it to be in the start routine. But as I populate a database table using that routine, which in turn is used in update routines, I need to kick it off before the load from ODS to cube happens. I think an ABAP routine variant can be kicked off in process chains. Did anyone use the variant and know how to kick off the routine? Do I have to write this logic in a function module and then kick it off using ABAP variant in Process chains?
I would prefer a way to limit my start routine to run once for every data load rather than kicking it off through process chain. Can someone discuss which is a good approach and how I go about it? Thanks for your inputs.

Let me recap you req. You want to populate a database table in your start routine and need to do it once for a load.
There is no possible way to limit the no. of times a Start routine is run, but you can find some worksaround.
Is there anyway you can identify that your DB table is updated with new records, i.e.
1> You delete and refill table every time
2> You have some kind of time stamps.
If one of the above case is true, then you can use that as a check in the Start routine to limit the no. of times the DB table is being populated.

(BW) Run the Start Routine Only Once

...at the start of the routine to retrieve to the variable the value from the memory id.
At the end of the code, I exported the variable back to the same memory id...

Why java allow start() method only once for a thread

Why java allows start method only once for thread . suppose
Thread t = new Thread();
t.start();
say at later stage if again we call t.start() IllegalStateException is thrown , even though isAlive method returns false.
Hence the question , why start() method is allowed only once.If you need start a thread , we need to create a new instance.Really. Why do you think that? Do you have any evidence? It is one of the first things I would think of, personally.Considering that the Thread API doesn't allow you to specify a stack address (only stack size), I think it demonstrates they wanted to remove that capability from their Thread API all together. That missing "capability" makes me believe they want me to believe it's not something I need to worry about when using their API... I think the exact semantics of the Thread class and its methods were driven by how to make it most understandable and usable for their customers. I'm certain this issue was one of many that was given considerable thought during the design and implementation of the JVM and the underlying runtime classes.

On the one hand you seem to think the Java API designers are idiots, on the other hand you think that they should be. I can't make it out.I thought my position was that the Java developers were talented enough to implement platform in whatever way their API called for; hence, the designers made a choice about how they wanted their API to be used by their customers. They decided which capabilities they wanted to include or exclude, and created an API that was consistent with their vision for this technology. While I'm certain technical limitations had an effect on the API design, I certainly don't think the API was dictated by the them.
I think the current design of the Java Thread API was a reflection of their vision to make Threading easier and more accessible to Joe Programmer, not limitations in the implementation. I never said it was wrong or that I could do better... I just said I think they could have done something different if they decided it would have made for a better customer experience. But hey, maybe I'm wrong. -
When I long in and type my sync key its said : incorrect key.I worked only once

so i created the following:

I am using Captivate 5.5 on a Windows machine. I inserted an animated gif into my Captivate, using insert > animation... Then, I inserted a button. When I pressed F4 to preview the animation, it played only once. I put a check mark on the loop on the timing of the properties of the animation. Still, it played only once. It stopped when the play head stoped moving. I cannot make the animated gif play continuously. Does anybody know how to make the animated gif play continuously?

Yopu can rename "buylink", but you have to make sure you rename all instances or it will kill the script.
If you're not comfortable incorporating that, unfortunately, the other option would be to create a Flash animation and put a button in the last frame.
That would be just as difficult (if not worse) as writing (or tweaking) a javascript to delay the hotspot, and even worse because it would be invisible to phone users. Additionally, people who disable javascript would never see the link if you did add the script.
There isn't any way to do this with HTML or CSS, and you now know the flaws with the methods that will work. -

PS10 Elements does not open in Windows 8, or opens only once. Can it be fixed?
PS Elements 10 preinstalled on my new computer with Windows 8. It worked fine for a week, now opens once, then won't open again, or doesn't open at all. Adobe gives no support to fix this (they told me to research the answer on their site), yet their info says PS 10 and Windows 8 are compatible. Automatic troubleshooter gives non-compatibility message. Can this be fixed? Have spent many hours trying to figure this out. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing works so far.

I used an older version of PS Elements for years on my old computer (Windows XP), and never had a problem launching or closing the software. This problem came about on a new computer with PS Elements 10 and Windows 8. No other versions of PS Elements were installed on the new computer, nor were any settings brought over from the old computer. Again, thanks for your input. Will keep your suggestion in mind for any future troubles with Adobe products.

hi, i tried here to process events with 2 jobs... surprisingly i had to call dbms_lock.sleep(1) to be able to enqueue events
at inserts in a row ... even more surprisingly the enqueuing doesn't function if the processing (prc_evsched) lasts some seconds...
how must the code be changed to be able to enqueue all events after the inserts without any sleep()?
and how must the code be changed to be able to enqueue all events with a proc (prc_evsched) running longer?

how can the count of the parallel running lightweight-jobs be limited?
according to the documentation it is not possible:
There is no explicit limit to the number of lightweight jobs that can run simultaneously to process multiple instances of the event.
However, limitations may be imposed by available system resources.
could you explain to me, what it (...available system recources...) means?
eventually what i would like to have: max. two parallel running (lightweight) jobs....

I need to add custom start options in VS package.
Example:
Instead of showing "start", need to provide options like "Start in Firefox", "Start in Chrome" and handle their events on our own.

Mac Pro unresponsive - excessively long boot time
Got a Mac Pro that started glitching up this morning. suddenly started getting intermittent freezes / beach balls, soon became mostly unresponsive. Did a deep clean w/ applejack (passed disk check), reset PRAM, unplugged for 20 sec to reset pmu, etc.
