Addin extra properties to MAPI messages

Hi!
On msdn website http://msdn.microsoft.com/de-de/library/cc765570.aspx following is written:
"MAPI Property Overview:...Clients can define properties to describe new message classes, and service providers can define properties to expose the unique features of their messaging system."
I ve been trying to add custom properties to MAPI messages, send and receive them. the problem is by receiving i get the error code 0x40380.
Inside my GetProperties() method the pProp parameter should have in its Value.l field 5, but it has l = 0x8004010f???
While sending the HRESULT is ok. Is it really possible to define custom properties and to receive them?
Ive defined my own PropertyTag as the following:
#define PROP_TAGEVO(ulPropType,ulPropID)    ((((ULONG)(ulPropID))<<16)|((ULONG)(ulPropType)))
#define PR_MESSAGE_FLAGSEVO                    PROP_TAGEVO( PT_LONG,        0x0081)
        void SetProperties()
            const int nProperties=1;
            SPropValue props[nProperties] = {0};
            /*props[0].ulPropTag=PR_ORIGINATOR_DELIVERY_REPORT_REQUESTED;
            props[0].Value.b = (unsigned short)true;*/
            props[0].ulPropTag=PR_MESSAGE_FLAGSEVO;
            props[0].Value.l = (LONG)5;
            HRESULT hr = m_pMapiMessage->SetProperties(nProperties, props);
in MapiMessage.cpp SetSproperties Method:
HRESULT CMapiMessage::SetProperties(ULONG valueCount, SPropValue* lpProp)
    if (!m_lpMessage)
        return E_FAIL;
    return m_lpMessage->SetProps(valueCount, lpProp, NULL);
...SetProps() is the MAPI method.
My GetPToperty method:
void GetProperties()
            LPSPropValue pProp;
            HRESULT hr = m_pMapiMessage->GetProperty(PR_MESSAGE_FLAGSEVO, pProp);
            BOOL bRead = ((pProp->Value.l & MSGFLAG_READ) == MSGFLAG_READ);

Hello Evren,
As far as I know you can define transmittable user properties in range 0x8000 to 0xFFFF (user-defined Name-to-id mapped property). The
Property Identifier Ranges page in MSDN provides the following information:
8000 - FFFE
Properties defined by clients and occasionally service providers that are identified by name through the IMAPIProp::GetNamesFromIDs andIMAPIProp::GetIDsFromNames methods.
Be aware, the property should be defined on the target Inbox folder.

  • How to keep MAPI properties when processing message data in RFC822 format in an Exchange Server 2007/2010 transport agent?

    We are developing an agent listening for the submit or endOfData event from the Exchange Server. Due to various reasons we need to convert the Exchange Mail
    internally to RFC822 format.
    So our MessageProcessor internally converts the message stream (usually TNEF) into RFC822 format. This means when written our modified content back to ‘e.MailItem’
    we write the converted content back.
    It seems that this conversion causes a loss of some MAPI properties of the message.
    When out-of-office-mails are enabled for an account the Exchange Server generates both messages the OOF message for internal recipients and the OOF message external
    recipients.
    When sending an internal message using voting buttons the message arrives without that voting information.
    void Agent_OnSubmittedMessage(SubmittedMessageEventSource source, QueuedMessageEventArgs e)
    MessageProcessor proc = new MessageProcessor();
    Stream messageContent = e.MailItem.GetMimeReadStream();
    Stream processedMail = proc.ProcessExchangeMessage(messageContent); // internally converts the message to RFC822
    Stream writeStream = e.MailItem.GetMimeWriteStream();
    processedMail.CopyToStream(writeStream);
    We also tried a dirty „hack“ using the Exchange Server internal method for converting the message from TNEF to RFC822 “ConvertAnyMimeToMime” from “Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.OutboundConversionOptions”,
    but using that method causes the same issue.
    Now my idea was cloning all MAPI properties not related to the content of a message and reapply them after writing the RFC822 content back to into e.MailItem.
    Any idea how we can overcome our problems?

    Hello Scott,
    after posting this question I implemented a dirty workaround.
    Now I'd like to ged rid of that workaround. Are you still not allowed to discuss this?

  • Problem with Mulit Mapping/Message Split

    Hi,
    I am a newbie to XI trying to set up a file2file scenario with multi-mapping/message splitting without BPM.
    System is XI 3.0 SP14
    Scenario is:
    read an XML-File and multiply it and write 2 XML-files using the File adaptor.
    For reference I used "multimapping without BPM".
    - setting occurancy of Message types to unbounded in both Message Mapping and Interface Mapping.
    - using the RB_Split button
    - setting up one business service containing 2 message interfaces and 2 communication channels for output.
    Designing and Konfiguring worked fine.
    File is read but no file is written.
    XML-Moni tells me "Mapping did not create Messages"
    I did extensive studies in sap.help, forum and various blogs. Also to verify Messagetypes and Kommunication channels I set up similar file2file scenario without splitting. Nothing really helped.
    Any clues?

    Hi again,
    very efficient method to test XML-source file. - Thanks.
    Unfortunately it did not solve my problem.

  • Oracle BPM and JMS Queue: How to associate data from Map Messages to Process Data Objects?

    Good Day!
    I'm currently working on a project wherein it tries to get data from a JMSqueue Map Message being populated by CEP.
    After CEP pushes some data in the JMSqueue. I have BPM configured with a JMS adapter to look up whether there are any messages to be processed upon.
    Inside BPM, I want to know how can I correlate the data from the Map Message to my Process Data Object.
    For example, If I have a Map Object wherein it has 3 attributes:
    FirstName:String
    LastName:String
    Age:int
    What is the expression I need to use inside Oracle BPM Data Association screen in order to map the data from the Map Messages into my process data objects?
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Jeff

    Any ideas? Thanks!

  • JMS/AQ: Setting properties for JMS message using PL/SQL

    I have created a procedure in PL/SQL that uses JMS messages, and now I need to include a property so that the subscriber can use a message selector to filter out unwanted messages. Is this possible using PL/SQL?
    A previous post said: "... But you can have properties in the message payload itself and also define selectors on the message content ...". But I looked at Sun's tutorial and there it said: "A message selector cannot select messages on the basis of the content of the message body."
    I have 300 different screens and messages apply only to one screen at a time. When the user is looking at screen 'A' I want him to only recieve messages that apply to screen 'A'. I thought I would do this with message selector, but is there any other way?
    Here is my code(borrowed from an earlier post)
    PROCEDURE ENQUEUE_JMS_MESSAGE AS
    BEGIN
    DECLARE
    Enqueue_options DBMS_AQ.enqueue_options_t;
    Message_properties DBMS_AQ.message_properties_t;
    Message_handle RAW(16);
    User_prop_array SYS.AQ$_JMS_USERPROPARRAY;
    Agent SYS.AQ$_AGENT;
    Header SYS.AQ$_JMS_HEADER;
    Message SYS.AQ$_JMS_TEXT_MESSAGE;
    Message_text VARCHAR2(100);
    BEGIN
    Agent := SYS.AQ$_AGENT('',NULL,0);
    User_prop_array := SYS.AQ$_JMS_USERPROPARRAY();
    Header := SYS.AQ$_JMS_HEADER( Agent, '', 'aq1', '', '', '', User_prop_array);
    Message_text := 'Message 1 from PL/SQL';
    Message := SYS.AQ$_JMS_TEXT_MESSAGE(Header, LENGTH(Message_text), Message_text, NULL);
    DBMS_AQ.ENQUEUE(queue_name => 'tstopic',
    Enqueue_options => enqueue_options,
    Message_properties => message_properties,
    Payload => message,
    Msgid => message_handle);
    END;
    END;

    Thanks for the answer. I managed to set the Correlation id and retrieve it using getJMSCorrelationID(). But I did not manage to use the MessageSelector on it. I have used the Topicbrowser which is not part of the JMS standard? I tried to enqueue the messages using Java too and tried to use the topicbrowser on both JMSCorrelationID and user defined properties withou success. Is there some special requirements of the TopicBrowser?
    Enumeration messages;
    oracle.jms.TopicBrowser browser =tsess.createBrowser(topic, "TS", "JMSCorrelationID = 'TST'");
    int count = 0;
    messages = browser.getEnumeration();
    if(messages.hasMoreElements())
    System.out.println("message"); //never executed
    dtxtmsg = (TextMessage)(tsub1.receiveNoWait()) ; //returns a message
    String corrID = dtxtmsg.getJMSCorrelationID(); //returns: TST
    Thanks for your help so far...it would really save my day if you have some ideas on this too!

  • Dequeuing a Map message from AQ using Java/JMS

    I have a queue in Oracle AQ, created from a queue table with queue_payload_type of SYS.AQ$_JMS_MAP_MESSAGE. I can successfully enqueue a Map message using PL/SQL, but when I try to read a message from the queue using the JMS API (with the Oracle AQ JMS provider JARs) in a standalone Java program, the message is not successfully read. However, the RETRY_COUNT in the queue table is incremented each time I try to read from the queue. I do not receive any error messages on the client side.
    If I change the queue_payload_type of the queue table to SYS.AQ$_JMS_TEXT_MESSAGE instead and enqueue a text message using PL/SQL, I can read the text message successfully in the standalone Java program using JMS. The message is removed from the queue and everything works fine.
    Most Oracle AQ/JMS examples I've found on the web involve text messages. Has anyone been able to read a Map message from an Oracle AQ queue using JMS, or is there a known issue with Map messages?
    I'm running Oracle 10g Standard Edition version 10.2.0.1.0 on Windows XP.
    Thanks for your help,
    Marty

    While you are awaiting an answer you might want to consider applying the 10.2.0.4 patch. Your version is several years old and patches are free.

  • Need to add additional properties to a message

    Hello Friends,
    I need to obtain a JMS message and add properties to that message. Any message I receive is marked as read only. Hence I get a MessageNotWritableException when I try to set a property in that message. I have to call the clearProperties method but that will clear all the existing properties in the message. I would like to create a copy of this message and then add properties to it. Is there a way to this?

    Copy the properties into a HashMap, clear them, set the message payload, put the properties back

  • Read JMS Map message in BPEL

    Hi all,
    I am trying to read JMS Map message in BPEL. Below is the message which is consumed from the JMS queue by JMS adapter.
    <Receive1_Consume_Message_InputVariable>
    <part  name="body">
    <MapMessage> <entry  name="createUser"  dt="String">jcooper</entry>

    </Receive1_Consume_Message_InputVariable>
    How to traverse all the key and name value pairs? Is there any function in XSLT to achieve this? Please let me know.
    Thanks

    I publish a JMS message to a topic in one BPEL process and have another BPEL process read from the topic and start the flow. The problem I have is that the first process is writing fine to the topic, but the second process seems to be reading twice. I am seeing two instances of the second process in em.
    Can anyone help? I am using JDev 11.1.1.1.0

  • How to Map messages having different namespaces

    Hi Experts,
    I am facing a problem while developing a simple process using process composer in CE 7.1 EHP1.
    The process has only one AutomatedActivity that invokes a WebService (MyWS.wsdl). The WebService operation takes an input as a BusinessObject defined in the same namespace as the web service i.e. http://samples.mycompany.com.
    I imported the MyWS.wsdl in the project. This has imported the service interface and the data types into the project.
    Then I defined a web service (StartProcessSI.wsdl) to start the process. This service has only one operation "StartProcess". This operation is supposed to take the same BusinessObject as input which will be passed to MyWS web service.
    But I was not able to use the data types from MyWS.wsdl in StartProcessSI.wsdl. Hence I defined the same data types with different namespace (http://bo.samples.mycompany.com) in StartProcessSI.wsdl.
    In the process, I have assigned the StartProcessSI service interface to the Start event and added a DataObject of type http://bo.samples.mycompany.com/BusinessObject in the process context. The OutputMapping of Start event is done since both the data types are from same namespace i.e. http://bo.samples.mycompany.com.
    Coming to the automated activity I am facing the mapping problem. The BusinessObject in the process context is from namespace http://bo.samples.mycompany.com/. Whereas the input parameter of the operation of the web service is from namesapce http://samples.mycompany.com/.
    The structure of the data types is exactly same. The only difference is the namespace. When I map these data types in the InputMapping or OutputMapping of the AutomatedActivity, it shows error (red cross on the mapping) "Incompatible expression type".
    How can I handle this?
    Thanks in advance.
    JK

    Thanks Christian.
    But can you please explain using a small example.
    Input message
    <person namespace="http://samples.mycompany.com">
      <name>Jon</name>
      <address>Some address</address>
    </person>
    The above message needs to be mapped to a person object having namespace http://bo.samples.mycompany.com.

  • Multi-Mapping Message Split 1:n

    Hi experts,
    I have a few questions regarding a multi-mapping for a 1:n message split. I have a business process which collects IDOCs from a specific IDOC type (ZHINVOIC01).
    I have a 1-to-1 Mapping for collecting the IDOCs.
    After this 1-to-1 Mapping the IDOC has the following structure:
    xdoc has the occurrence 0..unbounded
    For every IDOC in the source structure one xdoc in the target structure should be created. My Mapping works very fine, but I have one question. If there are more IDOC-Elements in the source structure, I have more xdoc-Elements in the target structure. But I do not want to have one target-message. the mapping should create one file with the element xdoc for every IDOC element in the source structure.
    I want to send a xml-file for each xdoc-element to a ftp-server. is that possible?
    Thanks and best regards
    Christopher Kühn

    Hi Udo,
    look at my example above:
    for the source structure
    <Messages>
       <Message1>
          <ZHINVOIC01>
             <IDOC/>
             <IDOC/>
             <IDOC/>
          </ZHINVOIC01>
       </Message1>
    </Messages>
    I have the following target structure:
    <Messages>
       <Message1>
          <xdoc/>
          <xdoc/>
          <xdoc/>
       <Message1>
    <Messages>
    now the target structure is only one message, isn't it?
    But I want to have for this case 3 Messages each with only one xdoc-element.
    I hope that we are not talking at cross-purposes
    Thanks and best regards
    Christopher

    Sree,
    The log says that there is ABAP mapping included in your exchange profile. Do the things what michal have told and also check your mapping program whether working fine or not in SXI_MAPPING transaction.

  • After upgrading to IOS 8, several functions doesen´t work on my iPhone 5. Like mail, safari, maps, messages and a lot of other things

    After upgrading to IOS 8 several things on my iPhone 5 stop working, like safari, maps, mail, messages. When you go in on these apps they only shut down. How can i fix this?

    Update: my phone's connecting to the WiFi again. I don't know what did the trick. I did nothing since reinstalling the software. It hadn't worked then, it is now. I tried connecting to my dad's phone's hotspot( he uses a Moto G), and it worked. I then tried connecting to the WiFi at a friend's house, and when I came back home, my phone was able to connect to my WiFi! Is it of any significance that my friend's router doesn't require a password? My issue has been resolved( for now; I hope I'm not counting my chickens before they've hatched). For anyone facing a similar issue, I suggest you try everything I did:
    1. Turn your router off for a minimum of 30 seconds, turn it back on and try connecting.
    2. Click on the WiFi network you are connected to, scroll to the bottom, tap "Renew Lease".
    3. Do a soft and hard reset.
    4. Reset network settings.
    5. Back your data up, erase all content from settings menu, restore from backup.
    6. Reinstall your software( put it in recovery mode).
    I am not sure which of the above worked for me. Make sure you try everything. If none of the above works, take it to a genius bar or an authorised service provider. Good luck! :)

  • Mapping - message split

    Hi all,
    I need a little bit help with message splitting.
    I have message structure like below. The Error Node exists in all rows, in first part it is initial (with no value), then come rows with different error messages.
    <Message1>
      <Row>
        <node1>a</node1>
        <node2>a</node2>
        <Errror/>
      </Row>
      <Row>
        <node1>a</node1>
        <node2>a</node2>
        <Errror/>
      </Row>
      <Row>
        <node1>a</node1>
        <node2>a</node2>
        <Errror>text_a</Errror>
      </Row>
      <Row>
        <node1>a</node1>
        <node2>a</node2>
        <Errror>text_b</Errror>
      </Row>
    </Message1>
    I need to split it into 2 messages so, that in first message will be rows without error, and in the second with.
    <Message1>
      <Row>
        <node1>a</node1>
        <node2>a</node2>
      </Row>
      <Row>
        <node1>a</node1>
        <node2>a</node2>
      </Row>
    </Message1>
    <Message2>
      <Row>
        <node1>a</node1>
        <node2>a</node2>
        <Errror>text_a</Errror>
      </Row>
      <Row>
        <node1>a</node1>
        <node2>a</node2>
        <Errror>text_b</Errror>
      </Row>
    </Message2>
    Is this feasible with graphical mapping? How can I can make the assignment of the row once to first and
    other time to second message? Or do I have to use XSLT/ABAP? (I am not very familiar with java...) Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hello,
    Prateek, Jude,
    I think you did not get the point.When I map it just in the simple way it will look like this:
    Input rows:
    1 - no error
    2 - no error
    3 - error
    4 - error
    5 - error
    Output
    Message1 rows:
    1,2,3,4,5
    Message2 rows:
    1,2,3,4,5
    I will have 10 rows in output (I want to have just 5 and in this way M1-1,2; M2-3,4,5).
    Udo,
    I have tried already this approach. However it does not work as desired.
    I have mapped:
    Error node -> not -> exists -> if
    Input_message_Row -> then
    output -> Output_message1_Row
    Error node -> exists -> if
    Input_message_Row -> then
    output -> Output_message2_Row
    However the decision is made on the first row, and the first row is mapped also to second message, and that is all. The next rows are not considered at all:
    Input:
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0=...>
       <ns0:Message1>
          <ns1:MT...>
             <Row>
                <test1>11</test1>
                <Errror/>
             </Row>
             <Row>
                <test1>111</test1>
                <Errror/>
             </Row>
             <Row>
                <test1>111bb</test1>
                <Errror/>
             </Row>
             <Row>
                <test1>11a</test1>
                <Errror>a</Errror>
             </Row>
             <Row>
                <test1>11axx</test1>
                <Errror>axx</Errror>
             </Row>
          </ns1:MT...>
       </ns0:Message1>
    </ns0:Messages>
    Output:
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0=...>
       <ns0:Message1>
          <ns1:MT...>
             <Row>
                <test1>11</test1>
             </Row>
          </ns1:MT...>
       </ns0:Message1>
       <ns0:Message2>
          <ns1:MT2...>
             <Row>
                <test1>11</test1>
                <Errror/>
             </Row>
          </ns1:MT2...>
       </ns0:Message2>
    </ns0:Messages>
