Adding a character with no lines

Question

A script I'm working on contains a character that has no dialogue. I can't seem to be able to add this character into the character database of the script without having lines. I have them in the action lines, but unless I capitalize the entire name every time, it doesn't recognize them in the scene.
Is there a way of doing this that I'm overlooking?
Also, how can I change the color of the coded dots for each character?

Hi,
To do some dynamic actions on your page without submitting the page, you need javascript.
Try this below:
1. On your Page HTML Header copy and paste the script below:
