Adding a digital time counter for split screen...

I am recording two events that I will be displaying as on a split screen. I need to have a digital "stop watch" timer at the bottom of each screen. Is there a way to create this on the computer without actually taking video footage of a timer?
Any ideas would be welcome.

Custom Sequence Settings for Split Screen

Hello all,
FCP 6. I am doing a split screen where I am combining two 720x480 videos side by side. I did the whole project by scaling down both videos to match whatever the sequence settings were. How can I create a custom canvas/ sequence size to avoid scaling down the frames and cutting on the image quality?
I created a custom sequence setting doubling the width to 1440 and keeping height at 480.
Can I copy and paste the clips from the old sequence without the scaled down quality to the new sequence? How can I do that?
If I open a new sequence is the new setting going to be in effect?
Any other suggestions on how to deal with custom size frame/ split screen?

Thank you for help! Does make sense. I did all like you suggested. After removing 'basic motion' and pasting into new sequence, the clips appeared big default size instead of small. I re-applied motion attribute like you said, but isn't it scaling down again since I am sizing from big to small (50%) again?
It looks good on the screen but I am not sure about actual resolution of the clip. In clip-item properties-format I read frame size but I am not sure if this info is about the source file or the clip.
I would like to get around this issue without scaling down (keeping the scale in motion tab at 100%).
The way I tried to deal with the scaling and res before I got your answer, was after I changed the 'global' settings for the custom 1440x480 sequence, and after creating a new sequence, I went to sequence settings again (from top menu) and set to custom (1440x480) (with just global settings the pasted clips looked like before). After copying and pasting with removed attributes-distort, all was in the original right/left order normal size and resolution.
The way I tried seems to meet my need (as pasting attributes-motion to all again would be complicated as the design of the project does not stick to the clearly left/right pattern but fluctuates back and forth at times and there is too many short clips).
The only problem I have now is with the RENDER.
After I rendered what I did to your suggested solution and mine (two sequences), the whole project shows in low res. I checked the render settings in Sequence-Render Control, and both resolution and frame rate are set to 100% so I dont know what I do wrong.
Any suggestions??

A time counter for the whole project

Can you tell me is there any way to get the overall project time as a time counter in the playback controls? Or viewed somewhere on Captivate?
I need to know at which time a particular slide is appearing in a video. I can only find time duration per slide or one overall time for the project.

Flash Player 10.2 - Fix for split screen problem on Youtube

Just to let users and support staff know, I have had this problem on two separate Windows XP systems now. The problem also manifests itself on other websites (e.g. Liveleak.com, Dailymotion.com) and is also experiencing crashes. These are reported by me in the vague hope it might make a difference to the product's quality.
I have solved it by Right-Mouse Clicking on the offending split-screen flash video and going to Settings, Display. Once there I have disabled the Hardware Acceleration feature and hey presto, all is working again.
When Adobe issue a fix, I'll turn it back on again.

Container hirearchy for splitting screen into two parts.

I have the following requirement.
I need a screen split in two parts. The left part will always contain a tree menu (JTree) and the right part will be loaded according to the node selected in the left part of the screen (i.e. JTree). I understand that I have to use JSplitPane for dividing the screen and the top level container should be JFrame. But I am not sure of the container hirearchy for both the JTree and the right part of the screen.

Based on that very limited description I would guess -
-- in the left part, a JScrollPane containing a JTree
-- in the right part, a JPanel with CardLayout, containing other JPanels with appropriate layouts and content. Or if the content is larger than the screen space available, you mat need to enclose the CardLayout panel in a JScrollPane too.

Timer/Counter for board 6025E

I want to use the 24-bit counters on the 6025e board however I'm still quite loss on how to utilize it. I had gone thorugh the whole palette of VIs to use under the Data Acquisition->Counter palette in the diagram, none of them seems fit my application.
First, I need a counter to start count when my program start, then interrupt to occur when it detects a rising edge (from I/O pin), in the interrupt routine, it read the number from the counter and stores it in an array.
a. Does the "Counter start.vi" refer to the counter on the 6025E board(20MHz)?
b. The Counter on the board, is it a count up/down counter?
c. What happens when the counter overflow? Will it reset and continue to count? Is it possible to note down the number of tim
es the counter overflow?
d. Is there any information on using of interrupts?I need an interrupt to occur when it detects a rising edge from an I/O pin(Hardware Interrupt).

I have a couple of things to add:
1. "Counter Start.vi" is one of the Intermediate Counter VIs and does not provide the flexibility that is available when using the Advanced Counter VIs. I would suggest using these.
2. When the counter overflows, it will reset and continue counting. You can program the counter to output a pulse on its OUT pin when terminal count (TC) is reached. You could then use another counter to count how many times this occurs. Furthermore, you can call "Counter Get Attribute.vi" to determine if TC has been reached.
3. Although you will not be able to have an interrupt generated each time a rising edge occurs, it sounds as if the example "Count Buffered Edges (DAQ-STC).vi" might accomplish your task. This exampl
e is installed with LabVIEW. It will store the count from the Source into a buffer each time that an active edge occurs on the Gate. The example was created to have both an external Source and Gate signal, but you could use an internal timebase as your Source.

AS far as I can remember in the 'Video' section of the filters list is a timecode/timer effect. This has various options once applied to your clip. This may be of help. Good luck, hope I've been of some assistance.

Time lag for lock screen notification sound

My iPhone 4 (up to date) will typically flash new emails on the lock screen and then vibrate (or play a sound) about a minute later. I know this isn't a big deal, but it's frustrating, since I typically assume the vibration/sound is a new item, so I pick up the iPhone and re-check.
Is this normal behavior?

Went to the Genius Bar and found out what the issue was. I had a few email accounts (two gmail and one godaddy related account). Apparently, gmail doesn't do push, so when iToys went to fetch, it does one gmail account, then the next and waits until it's done to make the vibration/sound. Eliminating the other accounts (I rarely use them anyway) cleared the problem.

How to reposition split screen clip keeping complex keyframing?

New to PP and trying to learn best practices for split screen sequences.
Lets say the screen is split into 3 vertical panels each with its own video of a person, the panels created by cropping. Each person has been meticulously position/scale/cropping-keyframed to center their faces in the middle of the vertical panel, rather than bouncing around the frame like in the original clips.
How do I reposition this center panel to the left side with one fell swoop, keeping all the keyframes so the face is still centered in the panel?

Split screen on PSE for Mac

How do I make my two files/tabs go to split screen so I can drag and drop from one to the other? I could do this easily on PSE with my PC but now that I've switched to Mac I'm starting over.

I'm using PSE 12 for Mac.
I figured it out. They just added a bunch of extra clicks for each move and put extra fanfare around the edges to make it harder to work with.
First, to drag and drop - you can no longer drag and drop an image you have to drag and drop the layer.
To move or resize the image you have to go and click on resize the shape and then do the work. very tedious and cumbersome and makes me want to go back to the older (and pc version).
The reason I thought this had customer support was because sily Adobe said that. I even went back to check. I clicked on Chat with Support and was directed here. The first time I cicked out of this and returned to where I started, believing I had made a mistake. I clicked on Chat Live or something like that and that time was directed to a live chat window that encouraged me to use this forum to get answers to my questions. The message said that support people were online now. That's not explicit but it sure implies that there would be someone who "knows" online.
I've now found my answers through other questions, other answers and great responses. So, I'm perfectly happy with this forum. I'm just frustrated learning a new product with so many differences and what seems like to help/support from the designers.

When using firefox and each time I open a new tab I end up with a split screen and it is annoying. How so I fix it.

I open firefox. Go to website then where there is a + sign I open a new tab. A new tab comes up but then splits the screen into two with a new tab in the middle and I end up with 3 small split screens in the one instead of 3 separate tabs.because it is doing that i cannot then get a full screen and go about my usual business. Lately there seems to be numerous problems with fire fox loading also. it continues to come up with page not found and try again. I hit try again and then it may find the page. these are on sites that I access daily and have done so for several years now. Never before have I had so much trouble with fire fox. Not only I but we have four computers accessing the internet ...have done for some time and never had this problem but everyone is suddenly experiencing the same problem. The only thing new that has been put on the main computer is a K9 protection thing recently and I am wondering could that have anything to do with these issues and if not is fire fox having tech issues . How can these problems??

Is there a free one time replacement for accidental broke screen on iPad 2?

Is there a one-time replacement for accidentally broken iPad 2 screen.

I tried on my less than month old iPad2 64gb.
I had to make 2 trips (one to schedule appt and one for the "Genius" appointment) for what I knew would be the answer ($349) so kind of frustrating experience -- especially listening to the litany of other relatively mundane problems people were having. Then made a 3rd appointment to see if the meltdown another custormer next to me was having affected my review with Genius #1. Same result. Hard to justify over $1k investment in less than a month. Genius #2 agreed and suggested to use a screen cover laminate and await next version.
I did not drop mine -- but it fell over face first while using the smart cover as a stand. Of course it fell on a granite counter top but the glass shattered/cracked (yet stayed in place). Still works so using the cellophane envelope to keep glass shards from cutting me. Looks quite stupid in public.
Overall not a pleasant experience. Wasn't expecting a free replacement -- but also not expecting the 2 trips, seemingly discretionary ad hoc Genius review, long wait and the absence of a simple screen replacement/cheaper option.

Getting run time error for multiple counter plan

Its very critical issue,wherein i am getting run time error for multiple counter plan.
Explanation:While try to change the Call horizon or scheduling period of the counter based plan through IP42 or IP15,systam allowing me to change the data but while saving also i am getting "Maintenance plan has changed" message and once come to the back of the transaction instantly i am getting pop up window saying that "Express document get terminated".However we have been maintaining copy of this data in another client wherein we are not getting any Run time error.
Please find the screen shots for your reference and please let me know how to fix the issue.
