ADDING A LINK TO FORMS
Hi everyone,
I am currently using Adobe Muse CC 2014 - all the videos currently on Adobe TV have 2013 information which are slightly different to the current Adobe Muse.
When placing a link to an email address I click on the Hyperlinks heading - it used to be Links - I type mailto:plus the email address - however, this doesn't seem to work for me. Can someone please explain what am I missing?
I am also doing the same for the Submit button on my form.

Thank you so much for your reply, it really helps.
When I do a testing, the email address is highlighted - demonstrating that it is a link - however, it doesn't actually take me to a separate Outlook (or whatever I use to send emails).
Then when I try to the same to a Submit button on a form it doesn't work at all.

Why....
busy but here's why
In the PDF, there are Form fields on page 5 which interface (externalinterface) with an RMA ( a SWF) on page 2.
This all works well.
As the form fields must be carried forward (from page 5 to page 2... to interface the RMA),
the orignal page 5, From fields are copied to pages 2-4 and then "Hidden".
Again, this works just fine.
A reset "action" (button) was added to, well, clear the Form Field for easy reuse.
The reset ''action' does it's job and clears ALL form fields with the same "Name".... on every /all pages.
This causes the dynamic interface, with the RMA, to display blank fields (within the SWF).
This will effect the User's experience.

Work aound.....
Find a way to label the Form Fields (page 5) so that "only they" are reset, and no others.
Create a link of Form Field inputs on page 5 (with names... x,y,z),
to new Form Fields pages 2-4 (with a differnet names... a,b,c).

Error while adding user after customizing form in 11gR2
Hi Experts,
I have worked on customizing my User view form. I followed steps as:
Navigated to View user form--> clicked customize (top left) --> view --> source --> selected area --> clicked edit on popup box
I made certain changes on labels names and added certain UDF's.
Then without publishing that sandbox, i simply de-activated it and clicked on user link (identity console) to add a new user.
While clicking on submit new user i got error:

Has anybody faced this issue earlier? Please share your ideas..When you create a custom attribute (UDF) on an application instance form, it is created only in the backend, and is not available in the page for use on which you want it to be displayed. Try to display this field that is throwing error and regenerate your View.
You UDF using different steps:
login->identity url->users->go to create user->Include values for mandatory fields->click on customize->left(top)->View->Source->select area->edit->Click on 'Add Content' (on left top)->Data Component catalog->scroll down and select User VO->Refresh dialogue box->select the field and click 'Add'->on dropdown select 'ADF Input test w/label->close that window->Check if it added to create user form->save and close customization

Database link in forms 6i stopped working in database 10g release 2.
Hi,
We have Forms 6i with all patches added.
We were able to recompile the form that contains database link in database 10g release 1 environment. Recently we migrated to database 10g release 2.
We still can run the form (previously compiled in database 10g release 1), but when we tried to modify the form and recompile it in databbase 10g release 2,
the forms developer closed down without giving any error message.
When we removed any reference to the database link from the form, we were able to recompile the form with no problem. Database Linkd in SQL works.
The question: what do we need to do in the database 10g release 2 to make the link in forms 6i work?

Lev.I recently upgraded my development environment from Forms 10.1.2.0.2 to Forms 10.1.2.3 and am experiencing the same problem -- not able to COMPILE a form that references a database link. The error is: "Error 352 at line 99, column 3 Unable to access another database 'LINKNAME'". This occurs on an UPDATE statement within PL/SQL code in a form trigger that used to compile and work fine.
I tried the database link in SQL Plus and the link is working fine.
Database environment is 10g 10.2.0.3 on Windows Server 2003.
Is anyone able to do this? -
Hi, I'm trying to add some metadata to a pdf. I have the follow script in the form initialize event:
if (form1.desc.nodes.namedItem("metadata") == null) then
var oNode=xfa.form.createNode("text", "metadata")
form1.desc.nodes.append(oNode)
endif
I receive the error message:
Argument mismatch in property or function argument
I also tried this code:
if (form1.desc.nodes.namedItem("metadata") == null) then
var oNode=xfa.form.createNode("text", "metadata")
oNode.value = "Test Data"
form1.desc.nodes.append(oNode)
endif
Which gave me this error:
accessor "oNode.value" is unknown
It appears that the oNode object is not being created.

This is the code I use to place metadata into the pdf file. If you open
the resulting pdf file using Notepad, the metadata is visible as readable
text in the file. I'm not sure the same approach can be used to add
metadata as viewed under Document Properties. We are not using it that
way. Maybe by changing the node name?

How did you get this to work? I
I'm looking for a way to add/inject values (keywords) into the form's
meta-data by retrieving the info/values from user input.
To test the above solution, I added the following script to the initialize

I put a button on a form and I would like to have the button to launch a form.
I tried to find the place to enter the link, but button property does not have link and target.
I just wanted to know if it is possible to have a button to link a form and launch it.

IccsiI am not sure what you mean by "have a button to link a form", but it's possible to have a button do any linking you want by MANUALLY adding some javascript to the code (there is no way to do this using just the DW user interface, unfortunately).

If what you mean by "launch a form" is "submit a form", then you can do that too -

I saved a PDF doc in adobe and then added text to the form. But every time I try an email it it only sends the original form without text. Once I've changed a doc in Adobe, how can I save it so that I'm able to use it with added text and notes? Also, I'm using a new iPad.
If you are using those apps or websites, they are likely viewing the PDF using iOS' built in PDF previewing, which will not show annotations and markup to the PDF. We have informed Apple of this issue, but do not have any insight into whether or when they will fix it.
Regarding the qustion about importing pictures, Adobe Reader does not provide any capabilities to import pictures into a PDF. To do this, you'll need to use Acrobat, available on your desktop computer. -

Link in form of a pictrue - change color when sweeping
Doing links in form of a word which change color when sweeping over them is simple in iWeb.
I wonder how I do if I not just want the color of the text but also an image to change.
Ex. I have a link in form of a bright cloud. When one sweep the mouse over it I want the cloud transform into a darker form of the same cloud.
Perhaps I need a codescript which connect two pictures of the cloud?

Thanks!The checkmarls are simple images. If you scale up the check mark or look at it in higher magnification, it of course appears blurry.
You may want to replace the check marks by graphics of your own (perhaps scaleable SVGs)
Select a check box, open the states panel and see the different states; change the graphics for the desired state by using the "Fill"-command in command strip on top of the application window. -

It's not a link, its an icon that indicates the photo cannot be found in the location where PSE expects it. This happens because you either renamed, moved or deleted the photos outside of PSE. To fix the problem, use File->Reconnect (you will have to find the actual file in one of your folders), and in the future, no more moving, renaming or deleting photos outside of PSE; if you MUST rename or move photos, do so from within PSE.
