Adding combobox in self registration from

Hi All
I have understood that the only way to add a combo in self registration is
to modify the tjspSelfRegistrationTiles.jsp .
I see that the the fields are dynamically created by iterating.All the current fields are not statically defined
in the jsp.
How could i add a new static combo.Kindly show me the code sample , if anybody has done that

Hi,
I have not tried this but you will have to try this following things.
1.Don't add any entry in FormMetaData.xml.If the value is in jsp then it should add value in database.Try this one first.
2.Have this UDF as hidden and add entry into FormMetaData.xml and also add the entry in jsp.I think this should work if first is not working.
3.Even if 2nd is not working then you might need to modify self registration class and put the value there.
I haven't tried above method so I am not 100% sure which will work.

Nitesh

    Thanks AJ for your immediate response.
    The VOs where the rows are getting created while we add attachments are FndDocumentsDomExtensionVO and FndAttachedDocumentsDomExtensionVO, which are seeded VOs.
    They belong to the seeded Application module, OAAttachmentsAM, which is the root application module to the attachment page.
    You mean, should I substitute the OAAttachmentsAM to add the above code? Since this is the root AM, we cannot do that rt?
    Regards,In such a case, you may write above code in extended controller.

  • OIM Self Registration without approval

    Hi All,
    I am very new to OIM, I need to know how to do self registration without an admin approval.
    I just gave shot by adding those mandatory fields from the approval form to the self registration form by editing the
    formmetadata.xml. but i get a bunch of exceptions and the request itself is not getting registered, i couldnt see any pending approval tasks in the admin screen for that particular self registration.
    I went through this post
    OIM - auto approval of self registration
    From that i could get that i need to create a task adpater and populate the other mandatory fields
    which aren't captured in the self registration screen.
    But is it the only way of doing it??
    Please let me know how to do it (any method).
    or any pointers would be helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

    HI Nitesh,
    Thanks for the reply,
    What i did is I added the mandatory fields to the self registration page, The probllem was with the value which i had passed during the self registration.
    For user type, i gave it as "Full-Time Employee" , but the actual value is "Full-Time" when i gave the correct value
    it worked.
    To summarize, i just added the madatoy fields like org name, user type and role to the sefl registration page
    and gave the correct values while registering and it worked.
    i am sure i cant live with this for a long time, I have to start work on the adapters.
    Thanks.

    How do we create a self registration request , using OIM API , with and without challenge questions?

    Well try this piece of code. This might be similar to yours but it worked perfectly for me. For you the error might be the attribute names which you are passing, it should be the one dfined in the FormMetaData xml as below.
         import Thor.API.tcUtilityFactory;
         // define you class below
         ConfigurationClient.ComplexSetting config = ConfigurationClient.getComplexSettingByPath("Discovery.CoreServer");
         final Hashtable env = config.getAllSettings();
         Hashtable quesAns = new Hashtable();
         HashMap user = new HashMap();
         user.put("Users.User ID", "SelfTesting");
         user.put("Users.First Name", "SelfTesting");
         user.put("Users.Last Name", "SelfTesting");
         user.put("Users.Email", "[email protected]");
         user.put("Users.Password", "SelfTesting");
         user.put("ConfirmPassword", "SelfTesting");
         tcUtilityFactory.createRegistrationRequest(env, user, quesAns);
    And for the query of challenge QnA, these are the following combinations possible:
    1) Property Does user have to provide challenge information during registration set to TRUE
    - During self-registration from web console, it will show you Challenge Questions section on the right. If you do not select any questions, it will thow you an error there itself.
    - Doing it from API will create no difference(even if you pass a blank HashTable). The request will be created successfully and on completion when the user tries to login, it will ask for Security QnA.
    2) Property Does user have to provide challenge information during registration set to FALSE
    - During self-registration from web console, it doesn't show you Challenge Questions section on the right. The request will be created successfully and on completion when the user tries to login, it will ask for Security QnA.
    - Doing it from API, you will have to pass a blank HashTable as in above code. The request will be created successfully and on completion when the user tries to login, it will ask for Security QnA.
    Hope it works.
    Thanks
    Sunny

  • Portal self registration - modifying email messages sent from database

    Hi,
    Using Self Registration feature of Portal, we need to modify the text sent to approved users by email.
    current message:
    The account that you requested at https://mysite/portal/pls/portal/ has been approved. You may now log on to the portal using the username (blaaablaa) and the password that you specified during registration.
    I need to change this to something more appropriate/user friendly
    Does anyone have experience of this? Could I use UTL_MAIL to modify these messages?
    TIA

    Thought I'd give an update to this. The portal was sending from an unrecognised account on our mail server. Setting the Approvers account and page group contact email recitified this.

  • Self registration email from wrong Company Administrator

    Hi,
    Self-registering users for a specific company (ie. Company1) receive 1st email confirmation re. successful registration from a foreign company admin (ie. Company2).  This is very bad!  This issue was not present in either our DEV or QAS environments. While troubleshooting we have tried removing the user admin role from the foreign company admin and self-registering again.  The foreign company admin changed to be a different foreign admin, ie. Company3.
    Thank you for your help.
    Sincerely
    Sumit.

    One of the latest help pages says that the selfreg performed means an email goes to the user and the admin. So, that's why the admin gets it.
    I agree that the end user should also get it - this might be a bug the SP15. I assume the email address is visible in the UME after self registration? Maybe there's a race condition and because you're using LDAP the email is being sent before the email address has been stored.

  • WLS 10.3 - Self Registration with External LDAP Fails (somewhat)

    I have a WLS 10.3.5 instance with WebCenter Spaces.
    I've added an OpenLDAP provider to the security realm, set the OpenLDAP provider and the default authenticator to "sufficient", and reordered the providers in the console to list the OpenLDAP provider first. I've also set "virtualize=true" via the enterprise manager interface, and added the <extendedProperty> attributes for "user.create.bases" and "group.create.bases" in the jps-config.xml file
    Using the self registration feature in Spaces, I fill in a proposed new user name, and select "check availability". The check returns "available".
    I finish the registration, and submit. I receive the following error, and the registration page remains on the screen:
    "User not created. Either the user name or the password does not adhere to the registration policy or the identity store is unavailable. Specify the required user credentials or contact your administrator for assistance." NO ERROR in the Spaces logs.
    But I look in OpenLDAP, and lo and behold, the user DID get created.
    So remember I still haven't left the registration page. Clicking the "check availability" button still returns "available".
    Now clicking the submit button throws the following message:
    "A user with the name <insert name entered previously in the "failed" registration> already exists. Choose another name."
    The following error is logged in the Spaces log:

    Thoughts? Probably a simple config tweak, but it's not jumping out at me at the moment.

    Removed the <virtualize="true"> setting from Enterprise Manager, and the issue disappeared.

  • Customizing Self Registration Form

    Hi,
    We have a scenario where when a user comes to perform self registration on OIM, we have to take different fields as input based on the user type. For example if the user is an external contractor we want to take input fields 1 and 2, and if the user is an internal employee the user would be required to input information in fields 3 and 4. Is there any way we can control it through the Self Request Dataset XML. I have already added all the required fields in the XML, however right now it asks for all the information irrespective of the user type.
    Can anyone guide how to tackle this?
    Thanks.
    UZ

    Well obviously modifying the existing JSP will be a better solution because in that case you will just need to merge the existing logic with your new one. The best thing I get to think for it is the following only:
    1) Create a class which holds your logic for UserID validation.
    2) Create a new button in JSP as required. For the onclick action give a call to above class and then based on the results, display another jsp as a popup. This new jsp will be either of the following:
    - SUCCESS. The userID you selected is a vlaid one. Click Proceed.
    - ERROR. This UserID has already been used. Select a new one or slect from tne following options. Now show all the possibilities as radio button. Click Proceed.
    Well that is the solution I would have done.
    Thanks

  • Supplier Self Registration

    Hi,
    I am trying to develop a supplier self registration portal using SAP Sourcing (Wave 9). I am unable to edit the product categories on the supplier self registration portal.
    How can this be done? Is it possible to add / remove product categories from the web-page?
    Kind Regards,
    Anshu

    Hi Kushara,
    Thanks for your answer but sadly this does not work. On the supplier self registration page, the product categories as a default appears as a check box (boolean type of field) instead of an object reference type of field.
    Hence, when i try your suggested approach, it forms a new object reference field instead of adding the product category to the checkbox list.
    Also, one strange behavior i noticed was, that i was trying to add translation to the product categories but even that is not being reflected. For instance, i provided a value 'Test' as a German translation to one of the existing product category on the supplier registration page, but when i open the supplier registration page in German, it does not show the value as 'Test' but instead shows the default value.
    I am not sure why this is happening.
    Could you kindly guide me on this?
    Kind Regards,
    Anshu
