Adding comment in the OTL Timecard ( in both timekeeper entry & Self-Service)

Hi all,
I need to add a new comment field in the timecard (both the timekeeper entry page & the Timecard Self-Service page).
I am going through the white paper "Configuring The Oracle Time and Labor Timecard User Interface" currently.
what i understand is modifying the LDT file will allow me to add the desired comment in the TimeCard Self Service page, while I need it to be exist in the Timekeeper Entry page also.
i should be able to enter the employee timecard with my comment in the new comment field using the timekeeper entry page and submit it for approval. The approver should be able to review and see my comment in the employee timecard self service page.
what are the required steps to have the new comment field exist in both layouts?
also, is it possible to add the comment not as a new column, can we add the field just beside the seeded comment in the Timekeeper Entry down beside the Select All/Deselect All button?
Note: I am using the Payroll TimeCard Layout.

Sure.
We would like to take the employee time cards being entered into the (OTL Self Service Time Entry) and once approved, have them automatically populate the OTL Timekeeper by employee. These employees are already defined in various Timekeeper groups. Once the supervisor opens up that group in Timekeeper they will be able to export those employee time records to an excel spreadsheet for further data manipulation. That's our end goal.
The question I have is, how does the upload from (OTL Self Service Time Entry to OTL Timekeeper) happen?
Does it happen once the employee time card has been approved?
or
Do you have to launch some type of concurrent job, etc?
I just can't find that process answer and what if anything that needs to be done.

    You observation is correct and it is the standard design of such portal roles as SRM Administrator, SRM Strategic Purchaser, or SRM Operational Purchaser to not have "personalization", but only Employee Self Service role.

    I need to add a display only field on the OTL Timecard. It should show the 'display_value' column from Custom2VO. The values I see in the ldt file for referencing Custom2VO are choice_list and lov - are there other options?

The comment you insert before that element is, of course, before the rootElement object, so the DOMSource object should be created with the comment node as the constructor's input parameter.

    I would like the system to display the Payslip of an employee on his self-service page so that when the user logs in he or she can view his/her Payslip.
    When i click on the Function Payslip it says ERROR on Page.
    I have Run International HRMS Global.And as the organisation is in Africa it doesn't have any specific localisation.
    So can anyone assist me on how can i customize the JSP page so that the Payslip appears on the Self-Service page of an employee.

I know word displays the comments off to the side of the document, and those comments can be viewed all at once and printed alongside the document.

    There doesn't appear to be a way to print conmments in either Pages or Numbers in the Mavericks versions.

    Want to help organize a bunch of photos by album (Smart), but only see the Batch Change for adding comments. In 5.x you can easily add in the bottom left. I see a place there in 4.x for comments but doesn't open when clicked on. Any other ideas on how to easily organize photos by names of individuals or groups thereof?

    If you have a photo or photos selected and you see the comment box at the bottom left - you just click on the box, your cursor will appear and you start typing
    If you selected info and don't see the comment box, grab the divider between the source and info window and stretch it out.

  • OTL Timecard LOV Sort Order

    Hello,
    We have an LOV field on our OTL timecard called Rate Up. It is a custom timecard created by someone who is long gone. We would like it sorted in a particular order. We identified a database view that is likely the source of the data, but adding an ORDER BY in the view did not work.
    This is probably really simple when one knows how. How can we put a sort order on this LOV?

    I found a validation set named XXEP_OTL_RATEUP_CODE_TK, but it is already sorted. We use this validation set on the Oracle Forms style OTL Timekeeper screens, but not on the web self service screens, where our sort problem exists.
    I enabled diagnostics without any useful information, but a trace gave me the following sql statement which uses hxc_cui_custom4_v. I added an order by into the view, cleared cache, logged off and on, tried a different PC with a different user, but no luck sorting. So where is this select specified, so I can add an order by?

    B. How to access stage properties.
    I can do both of these when the project is an 'Action Script
    Project', but I'm having trouble when it is a 'Flex Project' (e.g.

  • During adding comments PDF got corrupt.

    We have given the PDF to our client created using Export option of Indesign CS5 after that we make them comment enable using Adobe acrobat 9 pro software.
    Our client freelancer used Adobe Reader XI (11.0.07) which was updated on 22/05/14 to give comments on that PDF.
    Once again our client wants to add some more comments in the PDF using Adobe acrobat 9 pro. But during this the file got corrupt. Below is the statement given by them.
    "I received the proofread corrections back from the proofreader last week but there were still a few extra corrections to mark on. However when I attempt to mark these extra corrections on the proofs myself and then save it, the pdf immediately becomes corrupt and unreadable. IT were unable to solve the issue but they said that it might be some sort of font error. Could you look into this to see if this is an issue. It might simply be the case that it is a very large file and so it has become corrupt for that reason. I’ve never had this happen before on one of my files though, could you let me know if you have heard of it happening or if you know of any reason why this might happen?"
    We are also trying the same process at our end but there is no such problem face by us. We even try to add the comment in the PDF worked by freelance using Adobe reader XI but everything goes fine.
    We are able to add comment in Adobe acrobat 9 Pro and no file corrupt issue face by us. Is it possible for you to let us know the reason of such problem at our client end. Size of PDF is 178 MB.
    Even in acrobat reader XI we dont face any problem in adding comments.
    Is anyone let me know why our client is facing this type of problem.

    Linda, I'm wondering if there's some "conflict" being triggered because you're using both Win 7 and WinXP --
    Specifically, I wonder if the two systems have off-kilter time stamps, and that's why FM is giving the "newer creation date" problem.
    I don't quite understand what role the XP system has in your test, though -- can you not just use FM == and == make the PDF on the same Win7 box, make the comment on that box, then import the comments?
    Understandably you will probably eventually need to be able to import comments from all sorts of other systems, but for troubleshooting could you try making the full create-comment-import cycle on the Win7 box only?
    If that does work, then you might see of you can set the system time on the XP box to be somewhat slower than the Win7 box, and re-try with the XP box in the mix.
    Edit: changing the system time clock is suggested only as a testing procedure, to see if we can isolate the exact cause, I'm not suggesting that in order to work reliably all your reviewers would need to synchronize their systems :-)

  • OTL : Timecard Notification Layout

    We use the Timekeeper (Core Apps) form to enter Timecard.
    We have added a new column - Award to this form.
    Everything is working fine.
    We have set the Notification Layout as 'Project and Payroll layout'.
    The notification that goes to Approver has the Project and Task details. But the Award is missing which is understandable since i have to customize the layout to add this.
    I have the steps to add an LOV to the time card. But i have to display the Award that was selected by the user while submitting the timecard. How would my notification get the award id dynamically?

    You will have to configure the LDT file for the approval notification to include displaying your custom field.
    Presumably, in the template/data entry screen you have mapped this field to a context/segment in the OTL Information Types Flexfield. Use this mapping component to retrieve the data from the timestore and display in your notification layout.
    If, for exmaple, you stored the new field in context=ABC, Attbriute=Segment7, then refer to this context/segment as the source of the data in the notification layout.
    Usually, when you configure a new field, you also need to include it in the review, confirmation and notification layouts.

  • OTL/HXC - Adding Help Link to Self Service Time Entry (TcActivitiesPG)

    Hello folks,
    I'm a system analyst newly assigned to handling Oracle HR at my job. One thing I'm looking into is the possibility of adding a link to help documentation on our intranet (i.e. outside of Oracle) to the page where employees enter their time (using Self Service OTL). The problem is that no matter how much I look at personalizations for this page, I can't seem to track down a page element that could be used for that. I know there should be something, but I'm not having any luck.
    Does anyone have any suggestions for me? How would you add an arbitrary link at the top (or bottom) of the self service timecards?

    We're in the process of upgrading to R12; is it possible to add or custom links through personalization there, or is it still something that can only be done via customization? (We can certainly do the latter, but were hoping for a solution that didn't require it.)
