Adding Facebook, Twitter links to index.cfm

Hey all,
Brand new to CFM and need to add the Facebook sharer and twitter links to .cfm page and was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction?

So I have that working where it is grabbing the location.href and document title fine of the page, but it the implementation doesn't seem to be the same on a .cfm page.
I am only now starting to become familiar with <cfoutput> and coldfusion syntax in general. I have never seen it before today.
I have done dynamic development, but not with CF, only with Java and C#.
The stories are news stories that are rotated in and out and changed on a weekly basis within the index.cfm page.

Help newbie - adding facebook/twitter buttons to pages?

Hiya,
Haven't been on here for a while, but people were so kind and helpful last time I was struggling.
I desperately want to add buttons on my webpages for things like facebook and twitter so people can like/share the pages. I've been to the social networks themselves to read instructions, as well as all kinds of websites that claim you can just cut and paste their button code into the html, but everything I try isn't working. I don't know whether it's just because GoLive! doesn't know what to make of their code or if it's something else. Problems range from extra bits of text appearing on the page to do with the little button thingy that shouldn't be visible but are, to buttons not working, to buttons appearing in odd places.
Admittedly, I'm not very technical and don't know much about html, but have been following the instructions and cutting and pasting the html code generated by these button sites into the html source of the pages....but nothing works. Is it just me or is there a known, good way of creating working 'share' and 'like' buttons for adobe pages that I haven't been able to find yet.
Would so appreciate any help.

I have managed to get a very simple 'like' button working for facebook, so should be alright for the minute, but I will probably need some more help soon with the more adventuros stuff. Thanks for replying x

I've dragged my Facebook, Google , Twitter and LinkedIn icons into the Signature box of Mail. Is there a way of adding the web links behind each icon? i.e. like PC Outlook

I've just purchased a new MacBook Pro and am having problems with the Signature section of Mail. I've added Facebook, Google+, Twitter and LinkedIn logos to my Siganture, however the associated weblinks behind each logo are not copying across. Is there a way of adding the website links to each logo in the Signature section of Mail?

How do you add links for Facebook, Twitter and Yelp onto a website created by using iWeb? I'm using a hosting service to get my site on the web.

Hi 80smetalhead. My first help post, so hope it helps.
First off choose wether you are using a icon or text.
For a few free Facebook/twitter/in icons try: http://www.jordankennedy.com/jk/Free_Stuff.html
Ether way the process is the same. Select the Text/iCon. Then go to "Inspector" in the bottom right hand. (Blue circle with a "i" in it)
Then select the sixth iCon across. (blue circle with arrow)
Click "Enable as Hyperlink"
Then under that Link to: External Page <--this should be selected.. If not select it.
Under that will be a box with a link already in there. usually a apple link. change that to your Facebook/Twitter address.
And that hopefully should do the trick

Linking App to Facebook/Twitter Page

Hey everyone. I'm nearing the ending phase of a game I am developing and I am curious as to how I would go about making a button load a specific Facebook/twitter page by tapping that button on android and iOS. I have been searching a while and haven't really struck gold on it yet. If anyone has any information on that or where I can find detailed tutorials, that would be greatly appreciated. Perfect, that worked. Now, is there a way to open up the Facebook or twitter page in the Facebook or twitter app if it is installed? Haven't really found anything on that yet.

Can't transfer all the contact from my Q10 to Passport (only half) (facebook/twitter problem)

Hi all, I read a lot on the forum and I've decide to subscribe myself now because I can't find a solution.
I just buy the BB Passport and I try to transfert all the contact from my previous BB Q10 and it's not working correctly. I explain
I have only half of my contact in my Passport now. What I've seen is that the missing contact (numbers) are the person who I have link with Facebook or Twitter account.
I would like to know what can I do to add all the missing numbers. I just add my Facebook and Twitter account and still nothing. But now what I've found is everytime I was adding a number to a contact that I got (facebook, Twitter), I was clicking un update contact because I got it in the contact list but not is phone number.
So I look at this and all the contact that I add number and after click on update contact, I can't have it on my phone.
Maybe that can help you to help me?

If you log into your facebook account and then go to APP setting you can allow the APP to have access to your contacts it should re-populate the contacts, there is also the option of linking the contact info together or leaving it seperate, look at the bottom of your contact and you will see the sort of chain icon. I personaly had the opposite issue, before I realized it they had all been sucked into my BB and I really didn't want them there so I spent time getting rid of them ::

Even when I do accept the risks the site no longer looks the way it's looked for years. Twitter doesn't even give me the option to accept the risks at all and shows this error (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer). I've tried resetting Firefox, I've checked the time and date, and I've removed and added Firefox to see if that would work. Nothing seems to be working so I can see the sites the way they normally would be instead of "coded". Can anybody help me please?!!! Thanks

ok, unfortunately the fiddler2.com issuer in certificates might be a sign of unwanted software present on your pc that is intercepting secure network traffic. please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.

File not found: index.cfm

Hi,
I have a new ColdFusion 9 install on a CentOS server with Apache 2.2
I applied the 9.0.1 update.
The install is Standard, not Enterprise.
I can access the admin at /CFIDE/... perfectly.
The problem is when I try to access the first domain I have setup on server, where I installed ColdFusion on Wheels. When I type (using example instead of real domain) www.example.com or www.example.com/index.cfm, I get a ColdFusion error screen saying that it cannot find index.cfm . But index.cfm is there.
I checked ColdFusion logs, and I have noticed that apparently, somewhere, two single quotes are being appended to the file name.
This is what I see in cfserver.log:
05/14 09:28:47 Error [jrpp-140] - File not found: /index.cfm The specific sequence of files included or processed is: /home/folder/folder/index.cfm''
(with those two single quotes in the end. The file, without the single quotes, exists. The path included in the log file is the real valid path)
From application.log:
"Error","jrpp-140","05/14/12","09:28:47",,"File not found: /index.cfm The specific sequence of files included or processed is: /home/folder/folder/index.cfm'' "
Here at application.log it is more obvious that two single quotes seem to be appended to the index.cfm file name.
Can any one help with this? Could be these quotes the problem, and if so, where do I need to change? Any help with this will be really appreciated.

I have solved this problem and will leave the solution here in case it helps someone.
It was a permissions issue.
This server has cpanel. The account files are stored at /home/account/public_html folder.
The folder belongs to the account user, and nobody group.
I added coldfusion user to nobody group, and also to the account user group.
Then restarted coldfusion (without restarting it didn't work).
And now coldfusion finds the index.cfm file.

Facebook, Twitter and Flickr sharing option removal

Good morning,
I just bought a brand new Iphone 5S with Ios 7.05 on board.
I have seen that when you click share on something (like a photos) you have the option to share with social application like Facebook, Twitter and Flickr.
Now I don't have these app installed and I don't have any account with them.
How I can remove the sharing option?

Thanks for the answer.
I think is not very fair to link external application like this.
An Os generally speaking should be free of external application, or at least, the user should be able to delete them and their presence.
I am not also really sure that this is compliant with some laws in some countries. I remember Google had similar issue with some application on their phone.
Anyway this is only to share ideas, I guess I will take your suggestion :-)

CFMX61 (updater) does not parse index.cfm

Actually, it will only parse the file if it is asked for
explicitly in the URL.
I updated my RedHat AS3 / Coldfusion 6.1 with the 6.1
Updater. After restarting, everything works fine except if you use
a URL that is assuming an index.cfm file is present. What you get
then is a raw CFM file. But if you add index.cfm to the URL it
works fine.
Apache has index.cfm configured as one of its "directory"
files
(DirectoryIndex index.cfm index.html default.html index.htm
index.html.var).
I have installed the connector hotfix, tried taking the
index.cfm out of the Apache configuration (it totally stopped
working) and still not luck.
Does anyone have a "what to try next." idea

I found the problem. In the httpd.conf file where the jrun
module connector is loaded, the line "AddHandler jrun-handler .cfm
.cfml .cfc .jsp .jws" needed the .cfm .cfml and .cfc extensions
added. There probably are not two people in the world who could
explain why these extensions were not in the line already.

Sorry there no way to get rid of them, those came built in with the IOS.
There is no reminder on your phone only way is if you go to settings and see them.
Whether you like the brand or not, it's not hurting you in any way.
if you don't like suggest you get a different phone maybe an Android phone.

Defaulting to index.cfm

I'm responsible for several CF sites on the same server and
each new project provides new challenges - this one is really
irritating me though. I'm using a CF breadcrumb script to map out
where users are in the site; it searches the directory and lists
the folders as links. Each page is therefore an index.cfm in a
seperate folder (eg home/index.cfm).
I haven't built this site in any different way to any others
(so i thought) and were it not for the breadcrumbs the issue
wouldn't be such a problem, i'd just include "index.cfm" in any
menu links.
Clicking on a breadcrumb link just brings a "Forbidden"
error. If there's an index.html page in the folder it defaults to
that no problem.
Any ideas?

where do the links in the breadcrumb menu point to: just a
folder or
actual index.cfm file in the folder?
it sounds like directory browsing is allowed on your
sub-folders, but
not for the user CF is running under... though i might be
wrong...

How can I delete the "share" bar (facebook, twitter, etc.) from the web page I'm looking at?

A "share" bar comes up and blocks part of the information I'm viewing. I don't care to share anything on facebook, twitter, pinterest, etc. How can I stop this share bar from appearing? One suggestion was to go to Tools, Options, Content, and uncheck Enable Javascript.
I don't have a javascript box. Then what?

Although these tools may be created using scripting, turning it off probably would break half of the web. So this setting has been hidden from easy changing. (It's still there if you really need it, but...)
Does this problem occur nonstop on all sites, or only on particular sites? If you see it all the time, it might be a feature of one of your add-ons. As a quick test to rule out your extensions as the cause, could you try visiting the same sites in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
Any difference?
If it's a feature of a few websites, could you give some sample links? We may be able to suggest ways to block it on those sites.
