  • I'm using LR 4.4.  How do I extract the metadata from my images and export it into Excel?

I want to extract the metadata I have added to my images and export it into an Excel spreadsheet.  Can this be done within LR4.4?  If the software doesn't have a function for this is there another way to do it?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

JB's ListView is the most straight-forward solution, but
    ConfidentialInformant
allows for full customization (e.g. if you want to pick and choose custom metadata fields, or export more fields than ListView supports (10), or tweak data formats, or add intelligence...).

  • Again: Using Crystal Report to export excel sheet.

Morning every one, first Iu2019d like to apologize for my last question see Using Crystal Report to export excel sheet. Itu2019s pretty hard to understand and wastes your precious time. Now here is a new one hopefully it will do myself a lot of help:)
First, we have a table called HOURLY_PORTUTIL in the Database:
    Column Name...........Data Type
    STARTTIME ................DATE
    CIRCLE.......................VARCHAR2
    SERVICENAME...........VARCHAR2
    PORTUTIL....................NUMBER
The data in this table looks like:
    9/25/2008 00:00:00 AM...AP...(456)...0.01
    9/25/2008 01:00:00 AM...AP...(456)...0.04
    9/25/2008 02:00:00 AM...AP...(456)...5.04
    9/25/2008 12:00:00 PM...AP...(456)...0.02
    9/25/2008 00:00:00 AM...AP...AL-MOD...0.01
    9/25/2008 01:00:00 AM...AP...AL-MOD...0.04
    9/25/2008 02:00:00 AM...AP...AL-MOD...0.04
    9/25/2008 12:00:00 PM...AP...AL-MOD...0.02
    9/26/2008 00:00:00 AM...AP...(456)...1.01
    9/26/2008 01:00:00 AM...AP...(456)...0.34
    9/26/2008 02:00:00 AM...AP...(456)...5.24
    9/26/2008 12:00:00 PM...AP...(456)...7.72
    9/26/2008 00:00:00 AM...AP...AL-MOD...12.0
    9/26/2008 01:00:00 AM...AP...AL-MOD...0.23
    9/26/2008 02:00:00 AM...AP...AL-MOD...0.44
    9/26/2008 12:00:00 PM...AP...AL-MOD...8.11
    9/25/2008 00:00:00 AM...Delhi...(456)...1.01
    9/25/2008 01:00:00 AM...Delhi...(456)...2.04
    9/25/2008 02:00:00 AM...Delhi...(456)...6.04
    9/25/2008 12:00:00 PM...Delhi...(456)...7.02
    Then we have a Cross-Table:
    Columns:
    .............HOURLY_PORTUTIL.SERVICENAME
    Rows:
    ............HOURLY_PORTUTIL.CIRCLE
    ............HOURLY_PORTUTIL.STARTTIME
    ............@hourly
    Summarized Fields:
    ..............................Sum HOURLY_PORTUTIL.PORTUTIL
The Formula @hourly converts, say, '9/25/2008 01:00:00 AM' to '01:00-02:00'.
The above all is the information of our Cross-Table configuration, but the outcome is not what we want. I find that this forum doesn't want the user to post image, so I post the actually outcome and the outcome we want in my Picasa.
    Actually outcome:

    What we want:

I know that the outcome looks good enough, but our customers don't think so. They want export the report to Excel sheet and have every row with exact CIRCLE and STARTTIME.
    Thanks again guys:)

    Hi  Ashwini Yadav,
    Thanks for your reply:)
I'm afraid that your answer is not perfectly right. Again I'm sorry for my vague description. The suggestion you gave us is already adopted. The total and grand total part disappeared but we still can't get what we want.
Please have a look at the new image link below, Hopefully it will give you a clear picture of what's going on:)

  • Adding Images to a SQL Database

I'm using WAMP (courtesy of a community professional's reference), to build a database for a dynamic website (made in DW CS5).  The database is meant to hold our inventory listings (name, description, price, etc).  I want it to hold the product images too, but so far search engines keep referring me to Microsoft Access, not cool, or telling me to store the image URL in Excel, also not strictly helpful.
I'm using PHPMyAdmin 3.2.0.1 to create a MySQL database, what's the best way to go about adding an image field?  I don't think I should set the data-type to int or anything weird so I left it at text for now, but there's no image option, and no real reference material that I can make sense of to use an image.  Any suggestions?

    >when they click a fan image or name it will display on the right.
What will display on the right? Will you be displaying thumbnails in the list and then want details to display when the select the item? This is just a simple master-detail scenario. Clicking the link will embed the product id in the querystring and then open the detail page. If you want the item details to appear on the same page as the master list, then you'll need to use AJAX techniques.
    >Does that involve more stuff in
    >the database, or in the code itself?
Hard to say what 'more stuff' is when we don't know your database schema. In the context of your original question, no additional details other than the image path need to be included in the database in order to display images. The rest is done with code.
    Please include more details.
Also, in the future please post these type of questions to the App Dev forum. That's what it's for.

  • Problem opening exported Excel file

    Hi
We recently experienced a problem that has never occurred before. When trying to open an exported Excel file from a query with hierarchical structures (using the link <SAP_BW_URL DATA_PROVIDER="DP" CMD="EXPORT" FORMAT="XLS"> on the 0ANALYZER template), we are asked to log on to the BEx web, as if it's a Web application. If it is an Excel exported from a hierarchy-free query, then the file open directly without the logon prompt. According to the user, he used to be able to open downloaded hierarchy-expanded data without going through the logon process.
Has anyone experienced the same problem before? Can you share you solution to help us? Thank you in advance!

If I understand your issue correctly we used a different fix. Very easy to do.
First, what I believe is happening is that your icons for the hierarchy are being exported as a reference with absolute URL (images can not be exported). This means that when Excel opens the file it tries to resolve the URL and to do that it requires a login.
You can verify that absolute URLS are being exported by opening your excel export in a text processor (its actually XML). Look for URLS that start "http://.../MIME/BEx/Analyser/xxxx.gif". which are icons.
This took us quite a while to figure out because excel was not asking us to log in. It just timed out for each URL reference. Took forever.
The fix we used was to add the following entry to this table on your BW system... (LANG must be empty), Caption is optional:
    Table=RSZCONTROLTEXTS,
    Entry=
      Lang = "",
      TARGET_ID="ID_FLAG_XLS_ABS_URL",
CAPTION=”Force Excel Export to use relative URLs in XML output for icons”
You can experiment with results before you try by editing your XML file (the excel export from web) and removing from those icon URLS the "http:...." up to Mime. This makes it a relative URL. The down side is that it cannot find the icon and displays a box with an X in it. I believe there are techniques for importing icons into excel. They would look like this after surgery <img src="Mime/BEx/Analyzer/hieric2.gif">
If you implement the fix and don't like the effect just remove the entry from the table and all is back to before. I do not believe this is a transportable fix though.
We discovered it when we were pretesting a bunch of service pack upgrades. See SAP note #650887
    Hope this helps

  • Removing Column from exported excel in ALV

    Hi,
I have displayed one ALV to user which displays first column for checkbox and second column for image.
When I export this ALV output to Excel using standard Export button, these two columns also get exported to Excel.
Is there a way by which I can remove these columns from exported excel.
    Thanks,
    Feroz

    Hi,
    Please try this -
When you use the settings link to hide the columns, use it and hide the columns that you don't want to export, then try to Export. Check wether these hidden columns are also shown in the Excel.
    Or
One more thing, In the EXPORT button functionality, try to get the column references of the table and hide those ccolumns programatically and try to export it.
While showing to user give these columns while export hide these columns by the above way.
One more thing, when you are using the standard EXPORT button, Your code doesnot trigger. Please check it.
I don't know wether this will be of any help. Give it a try.
    Regards,
    Lekha.

    Hi Ritam,
For such issues, can you please create a new thread or directly email the author rather than dragging back up a very old thread, it is unlikely that the resolution would be the same as the database/application/etc releases would most probably be very different.
For now I will close this thread as unanswered.

  • Is it possible to set up a form with a submit button where the data in the fields gets added to an existing excel file, just like 'collect response' but without connecting to the internet?

I have a form that I want to use to collect peoples information with a submit button. I am trying to get the data that gets inserted to be added to an existing excel doc when the submit button gets hit, the form then resets and someone else can fill in the same form, hit submit and his data gets added to the existing data in the same excel doc. It is basically the same as the 'collecting response' option but without having to be online. The form is going to be used at a boat-show and I am going to get people to fill it out on an iPad. Does anybody know if this is possible?

You could connect a bunch of 3700s to each computer and do this .
Or...since you're the one who monitors the monthly limit, you could restrict an individual's internet access once you see that you guys are coming too close to the cap.
I don't work for Cisco. I'm just here to help.

  • Remove back image while exporting to PDF (InDesign CS4)??

    Hi All,
I have two images in my InDesign CS4 file and one image is hiding behind my second image. When I am exporting my InDesign file as Pdf and opening in Acrobat, Acrobat showing bottom image first and then showing my top image.
Is there any way to remove my bottom image which is appearing behind in my top image while exporting to Pdf.
I don't want remove manually because it happening with most of my InDesign file.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Baljeet

I would move bottom image to separate layer and then eventually I would switch it off.
If you don't want to change anything in InDesign you can eliminate the second image in your already generated PDF.
Open your PDF in Acrobat Pro.
Advanced -> Print Production -> PDF Optimizer.
You can leave only "Clean Up" check box marked (eventually Transparency if Acrobat will not allow you to switch it off). All the rest leave unchecked.
This operation will remove hidden image.
Correction: It will not remove the image. It just made the PDF to be displayed much more faster that is why the second image appearance was not noticeable. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Export excel option is not working in test environment in Firefox.

In our application 'export excel' option is present in 4 different pages. All the excels working in development environment in both IE and FF. In testing env, all the excels working fine in
IE. But only two excels are working in FF in testing env. Remaining not working and 'The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading' error page appears when we click on 'export excel' button. Can any one help on this issue...

    Hello,
You can do one of the following:
Select the table in Firefox and then copy it to the clipboard. In Excel do Paste Special and select either 'Unicode text' or 'text' to copy it into Excel.
Use the Table2Clipboard extension. This will provide the Right-Click menu option, it will copy the data into the clipboard and you can then paste the selection into Excel.
    I hope that helps.

  • Why am I not able to export NEF files to Photoshop from Lightroom to edit. This is new. When I right click on an image, the export to PS option is not selectable.

Why am I not able to export NEF files to Photoshop from Lightroom to edit. This is new. When I right click on an image, the export to PS option is not selectable. I've never had this happen before. I haven't used it for a few weeks, so maybe there's an update (Mac or otherwise) that's screwing things up? HELP!

I have an Edit In - Photoshop option, but not an Export - Photoshop option.
Obviously to have right-click Edit In to work, the photo you're right-clicking on needs to be selected.  I assume this is not the problem, and that the photo is selected.
Mavericks 10.9.3 has a problem where the Users folder is hidden, and you need to update iTunes to fix it, but it's been a few weeks since this happened so hopefully you're up-to-date and the Users folder isn't hidden anymore.
If you can't get things to work, I'd uninstall LR and uninstall Photoshop, then install Photoshop, and update it, then install LR and update it, as a way to get any wayward security or other OS-level things reset.

  • Bug : Invalid file extension error when opening exported excel

    Hi All,
In one of my jsff page, i have implemented 'exportToExcel' functionality through a exportcollectionactionlistener on a table to export its data to excel. When i try opening the generated excel, i get the following warning in excel 2007 :
"The file you are trying to open, 'Export.xls,' is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?" - When I clicked YES to the message, the exported excel opened and data is present.
How can i get rid of this warning message, because it is annoying for any user to click YES every time the excel is opened ? I am using jdev version 11.1.1.6.0 This is my code :
    <af:commandToolbarButton text="Export to Excel" id="cb1">
    <af:exportCollectionActionListener exportedId="t1"
                               type="excelHTML"
                               filename="Export.xls"
                               title="Excel export"/>
</af:commandToolbarButton>I found a similar forum post here File format of exportCollectionActionListener ADF 11g But they are suggesting a registry fix which is not possible in production environment.
Any possible workaround or suggestions to resolve this issue is much appreciated.
    Thanks

You can save the data on the client and the check the data.
Have you considered using POI to generate real xsl workbook files?

  • Size of Exported Excel file is very large

    Hi,
I have a report that has around 10000 rows and 5 columns. When I export to excel, the excel file is very big, around 15MB.
But If the file is opened, and saved again , the size reduces to around 13MB.
Any suggestions on how to reduce the file size of the exported Excel file. I would prefer to export it to excel rather than CSV format.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks....
    ViVa1

Hi, actually as you have probably noticed the size grows a lot due to the use of different styles and formatting.
If you do not require any formatting then I would recommend you to consider a CSV file format again because it will result in the smallest file size which you can achieve with exporting.
Also for the future referencing SQL Server 2008 R2 exports reports only in XLS format, but SQL Server 2012 by default will export into a new XLSX file format which is a compressed (zipped XML based format) so the resulting files will be significantly smaller.
For example I created a small project to test exporting of 10000 x 5 data to an Excel file. I used this
.NET Excel component to create various spreadsheet files, it has a straightforward API for
exporting DataTable into an Excel file in .NET so you can test this out yourself with ease. The output files, without any formatting applied to them, have the following sizes: XLS (~1MB), XLSX (~300KB) and CSV (~250KB).
