Adding javascript file

Hi
I am a photographer who shoots virtual tours for a living. My clients are increasingly wanting custom html pages in which the virtual tours are placed. I have little html knowledge so iweb is an excellent choice for me to design these pages. I have found the relevant information on how to embed flash content in iweb which works well when tested locally. However in order for the tours to work online I need to import or add the java script file that is produced by the tour building software. When I save the tours they are attached to a plain html page with an accompanying javascript file which does all the necessary work behind the scenes. When I use iweb to create a new html page the relationship between the javascript file and the html file is lost, due to the original html file being deleted and replaced by the new files produced by iweb. Can anyone offer any help on this as its a major problem for me and I have spent weeks trying to figure it out with no success.

You could put the javascript in the topbar if it is used in all navigations.  Another way is to put your javascript definitions in one of the js files that are already included on every page.
Other than that, you would have to add the javascript to all navigation schemes.

  • Javascript file - open BI Publisher report

    Good afternoon.
    I'm not sure if this is even possible but hopefully one of you experts out there will be able to advise;
    I had some javascript in my page which contained a simple function to open a BI Publisher report, it was:
    function run_40BFG()
    popupURL('&BI_URL.Guest/MyFolder/MM_40BFG/MM_40BFG.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=1&P_CASE_ID=&P303_CASE_ID.&xt=MM_40BFG_xf=rtf');
    ...this worked fine. To improve maintainability (I don't want to amend the Page Header each time I add a report), I wanted to extract this function and place it in a javascript file which I have done with 'some' success.
    Page Template amended - OK
    Page Header global variables added - OK (tested with simple 'alert' function and all was fine)
    Now the function in the javascript file looks like:
    function run_40BFG()
    popupURL('gBIurl.Guest/MyFolder/MM_40BFG/MM_40BFG.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=1&P_CASE_ID=gCaseID.&xt=MM_40BFG_xf=rtf');
    ...but each time I receive a 500 Internal Server Error.
    Is it at all possible to run a BIP report from an external javascript file? If not, is there another way?
    If it is possible, what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance!
    Sue

    ...just wanted to bump this up the thread list in the hope that someone will be able to help!
    Thanks

  • Help with adding audio files to page

    I am using DW CS5.  I have had numerous troubles adding audio files to any page.  Please know that I am not at all computer savy when it comes to html codes etc.  But I have been working with DW CS5 and have a functional website and my pages validate.  That being said, please be patient with me if I am asking stupid questions or don't understand the solution.
    Now to the problem....I originally wanted to add mp3 files...but I am not sure how to work with plugins or which plugin to use.
    Therefore, I converted my mp3 files to swf and used the insert media file feature in DW CS5.  But when I look at the finished page...I only see a big white box.  Nothing happens when you click on it.
    First question...which is the best method to add audio files?
    Second question...what steps do I need to follow achieve the desired result?
    Note:  there is one validation error on this page and I'm not sure why or how to fix it.  Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated.

    Woohoo! I was able to resolve the issue including the validation issue.  But I have a follow up question...
    Currently if you click on the play button another window pops up which has the play/control/stop buttons to control the audio file.  The attribute is set to new window.  If I change the attribute to parent window, then the page that has the control buttons overlays ontop of the page with the link.
    To get back to the original page, one must click on the back arrow near the address bar.
    Isn't there a way to not have a separate window appear?  In other words, the controls are embeded into the parent page?

  • Weird Timing Issue with Custom Javascript Files

    I have attached a static javascript file to my application using the Shared Components...Static Files facility in APEX. This is working. I can call methods in my JavaScript file and they work as expected.
    The issue is that if I ever want to have JavaScript run when the page is loaded, it is as if the javascript is not in place yet when the method is called. For example, I want to set some some style characteristics of a few common fields that occur on more than one page, if I add a button to the page that I click to call the method (and don't select "Fire on Page Load"), this works fine. However, if I do select "Fire on Page Load", the javascript is invalid.
    I have tried After Refresh of the region which seems like it would work but, this event fires before* the javascript is available.
    How can I load the page, including the javascript reference, and then call the javascript method?

    WR,
    I think the latter, adding it to the template, sounds like the better solution. (I am using Application Express 4.1.1.00.23 BTW).
    Now for the newbie questions...
    I am trying to figure out exactly where to make this change. So, I had a couple of questions.
    1. I went into Shared Components>Templates. Then, I scrolled down to the section labelled Page. I see that the default checkmark is beside "No Tabs - Right Sidebar" so, I click this and I do indeed find a <HEAD> section defined. Is this where I need to add the reference to the javascript file?
    2. I assume I need to upload the static file to the server. Right now, I have uploaded it via the Shared Components>Static Files selection. When I add it now, I am doing this:
    var headElement = document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0];
    var currentCommonRiskPos = currentHeadHTML.indexOf( 'commonRisk.js', 0 );
    if ( currentCommonRiskPos == -1 )
       var jsRiskCommon = document.createElement( 'script' );
       jsRiskCommon.id = 'commonRisk.js';
       jsRiskCommon.setAttribute( "type","text/javascript" );
       jsRiskCommon.setAttribute("src", "#APP_IMAGES#commonRisk.js" );
       headElement.appendChild(jsRiskCommon);
    }See how I used "#APP_IMAGES#"? I am assuming that this would not work from the page template, correct? For example, in the template currently, I see:
    <script src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_24/js/4_1.js"></script>I am assuimng that I should upload my JS file somewhere in the images folder and reference it in the same way, right? For example:
    <script src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#JoesStuff/js/HellowWorld.js"></script>Does all of this sound correct?
    Thanks,
    -Joe

  • Printing - Adding the File Location as a Document Footnote

    Re: Acrobat 7.0 Standard
    Have about 1000 PDF files --- each with a filename that's a specific number, from 1 through 1000 (the number --- aka, the filename --- is the section the document represents... there's 1000 sections in the project)
    Simply put, the main directory of files looks like:
    c:/Articles/1.pdf
    c:/Articles/2.pdf
    c:/Articles/3.pdf
    ...through c:/Articles/1000.pdf
    ===
    Am looking to process the above PDF files using Acrobat --- to print the file's location on my hard-drive as a footnote to the document.
    In other words, looking to take the PDF documents that are in "c:/Articles" ...and then, to process them all by adding the file location as a footnote -- and producing footnoted versions at "c:/Articles/Processed"
    Thanks a lot.

    Do you want the footer to change as you move the files to different directories? If so you can add some JavaScript to each file to the "Will Print" action to add a water mark from text to the bottom of each page with the files location, path or URL. But this solution will only work in Acrobat Standard or better. If you had the Professional version, one could use the "Batch Processing" feature to add the code to each file.
    You could also use JavaScript to add a custom menu bar or tool bar item to add the water mark or inset the code on a file by file basis.

  • Including external Javascript file in JSP- not working on Mozilla Firefox

    I have a JSP page which includes javascript file as below:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://siteAddress/scripts/myJsFile.js"></script>
    myJsFile.js has a method testFireFox()
    There is a link on JSP which that calls this method.
    <a href="#" onClick="testFireFox()">Some Text...</a>
    As soon as i click on the link, nothing happens and this error appears on console:
    Refrence Error: testFirefox() is not definedI tried giving the path for JS file in various ways but it did not help.
    Note: This works absolutely fine in Internet Explorer.

  • Error while calling an external javascript file

    Hi,
    I have added a javascript file into the public_html folder, i have named it main.js.
    I have a html file in which i am referring to the javascript externally , this too is in my public_html folder. But the HTML page does not seem to be able to invoke the javascript.It does not even enter the method.
    My code is as follows
    html file
    <head>
    <title>untitled1</title>
    <script language="Javascript" src=\"\main.js\" type=\"text/javascript\"></SCRIPT>
    </head>
    <body>
    <form name="test" method="POST" action="test">
    <input type="button" value="submit" name="submit" onclick="analyze_page()">
    </form>
    </body>
    </head>
    main.js
    <script language="Javascript">
    function analyze_page(){
    alert("testing if it works");
    </script>
    (2)
    Secondly, I also have a servlet in a package com.oracle.prod, what is the path I should give in the servlet <SCRIPT> tag so that the javascript is accessible while the page gets rendered

    Hi Kart,
    Try to do:
    <script language="Javascript" src="<c:out value="${pageContext.request.contextPath}"/>main.js" type="text/javascript"></SCRIPT>
    In that way you can access the context path of your application.
    So, another thing that I noted is \" it's unecessary if you are editing directly a jsp/html file.

  • Automatically Load JavaScript Files in PagePhaseListener

    Hello.
    In my application I want to load JavaScript files automatically on each page load or navigation. It can be done by using af:resource, but what I want that in my application I do not want to load each and every JavaScript files for every page. I needed an unification. So I have implemented a custom PagePhaseListener:
    public class MHISPagePhaseListener implements PagePhaseListener {
    public MHISPagePhaseListener() {
    public void afterPhase(PagePhaseEvent pagePhaseEvent) {
    public void beforePhase(PagePhaseEvent pagePhaseEvent) {
    if (pagePhaseEvent.getPhaseId() == Lifecycle.INIT_CONTEXT_ID){
    String function = "function loadJSFile(filename) {" +
    "var headID = document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0];" +
    "var newScript=document.createElement('script');" +
    "newScript.type = 'text/javascript';" +
    "newScript.src = filename;" +
    "headID.appendChild(newScript);" +
    "}" +
    "loadJSFile('/hennessy/js/js/jquery-1.7.1.min.js');"+
    "loadJSFile('/hennessy/js/document.ready.js');"+
    "loadJSFile('/hennessy/js/jflow.plus.js');"+
    "loadJSFile('/hennessy/js/ui/jquery.ui.core.min.js');"+
    "loadJSFile('/hennessy/js/ui/jquery.ui.widget.min.js');"+
    "loadJSFile('/hennessy/js/ui/jquery.ui.tabs.min.js');"+
    "loadJSFile('/hennessy/js/ticker/jquery.ticker.js');";
    FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ExtendedRenderKitService service = Service.getRenderKitService(facesContext, ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
    service.addScript(facesContext, function);
    Now when the page loads I can see all of these JavaScript files in HEAD, but my home page contains a TaskFlow and the view pagefragment of that TaskFlow contains $(document).ready(); and I get $ is not defined. That means the beforePhase() method is executing after the load of TaskFlow.
    How can I solve this problem and how can I achieve this unification? Is there any way to register all JavaScript files globally?
    Thank you.

    I have a Page Template from where all the pages are evolved. Say for example: Home page. It is based on PageTemplate and in the Home page I have added that TaskFlow. Now if I add af:resource s in PageTemplate to add all the JavaScript files, then the $(document).ready(), written in bottom of the View of the TaskFlow, gave me *$ is not defined*.
    Where and how should I add the JavaScript files in the Template in order to achieve this? I really appreciate you help.
    Thank you.

  • Javascript file upload on webcenter 11.1.1.4.

    Hi All,
    I am making some ajax call in in my custom template which i created in webcenter 11.1.1.4 .
    But this is not working as expected since we need to add
    this entry in jspx file in order to perform ajax call .
    <af:resource type="javascript" source="/........./jquery-1.5.1.min.js"/>
    Issue her is that i dont know where this js file is located ?
    or
    Please provide me how can i upload this javascript on webcenter .
    I found some link which allow me to upload images for css file but not js file .
    Link is as below .
    http://tech.bijesh.info/2011/04/wcs-ps3-custom-skin-images/
    Please provide your valuable pointer .
    Thanks ,
    Arun.

    In jdeveloper under webcontent folder(The way you address the script file it needs to be in the public_html folder if you view it in source files ) ,create one folder and named it "js".
    In js folder put all the javascript files.
    In your custom template source code jspx page,put the component -
    <trh:script source="/js/bs.canvas.js"></trh:script>
    (If you add <trh:script ..> ,be sure you have added the tag library: xmlns:trh="http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad)
    for adding the javascript.
    Remember onething, in some cases <af:resource type="javascript" source="/js/bs.canvas.js"/> may not work. (particularly in template)
    Right now I couldn't remember about the docs related to it, once I found I will post it.

  • MDS, Script Editor WebPart does not load javascript files with script tag

    Hello everyone,
    I have MDS and I would like to use some custom Javascript inside of a script editor web part in a page of my site.
    When I add the references to the libraries I need in the Script Editor Web Part SharePoint is smart enough to disable MDS on that page.
    I would like to be able to load external libraries inside of my Script Editor Web Part (without using ScriptLink or anything that would require the edition of the masterpage) but still using the added value of MDS.
    Can I use SOD for that? What would be the best pattern? Could you provide a simple example?
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi,
    Per my knowledge, including CSS and JavaScript files using HTML style and script tags is not supported in MDS(Minimal Download Strategy).
    We can refer the custom JavaScript file in the .aspx page or master page using ScriptLink control.
    <SharePoint:ScriptLink language="javascript" name="custom_javascript.js" runat="server" />

  • Code Hinting in JavaScript Files

    I use the jQuery framework. If I have an HTML page with the jQuery framework included, I can type JavaScript code in a script tag in the HTML document and Dreamweaver will provide code hints from the jQuery framework.
    How can I get these same code hints in a seperate JavaScript file in my site? Is there some way I can add a reference to the jQuery file?
    (I know in Visual Studio 2010 I can add an XML reference tag at the top of a JavaScript file with the path to the jQuery file, and that enables the IntelliSense jQuery code hints in the JavaScript file I am working on...)
    Thanks!
    - J

    Yeah, it would be good.
    Site-specific code hinting doesn't seems to work anywhere, although I tried with adding *.js and with specifically the jquery file too, no luck.

  • VS2013 changes my script tags when I edit a javascript file on Office 365 Sharepoint Developer

    I posted this issue on the sharepoint online thread, and was asked to move the discussion here:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/24e7060f-bef8-492c-a7b1-4a0aa9279a53/office-365-sharepoint-developer-changes-my-script-tags-when-i-edit-a-javascript-file?forum=sharepointdevelopment
    On my Office 365 Sharepoint Developer site, I have a custom edit form page (editform2.aspx) created for a list and have added a script reference in the additionalpagehead like this
     <script src="/JavaScripts/angular/angular-formly-master/dist/formly.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    Whenever I edit the file at /JavaScripts/angular/angular-formly-master/dist/formly.js using VS2013 and save it SharePoint replaces my script tag with this:
     <script src="/JavaScripts/angular/angular-formly-master/dist/formly.js~RF322607.TMP" type="text/javascript"></script>
    I thought maybe it had something to do with versioning on my Javascripts library , but versioning is not even enabled there.
    What's with that? How can I prevent it?

    Hi Russell_G,
    Actually this forum is to discuss the VS IDE, to really repro this issue, I'm afraid that it would require the high SharePoint development knowledge, but based on your previous
    thread, since the SharePoint members could repro this issue.

  • Inadvertantly added music files to the wrong library

    I created a 2nd library in itunes and then inadvertantly added music files to it instead of to the original library. My original intent was to move files from the 1st library to the 2nd but I forgot we had added music that hadn't been scanned into itunes yet and when I hit "scan music" it started to add all those files to the new library, so now what?
    And how do I move the files I originally intended to move from the 1st library into the 2nd?

    Karen,
    There is not really such a thing as "move" in that context.  Get copies of any files that you wish to add to the 2nd library, and add them.  When you are sure that this has been correctly accomplished, then go into the 1st library and delete whatever you don't want to be there.

  • Memory on my macbook air keeps disappearing.  I have 120 gigs and I am down to 150mb without adding any files.

    Memory on my macbook air keeps disappearing.  I have 120 gigs and I am down to 150mb without adding any files.

    Thanks...I have tried the various options and the only item of interest is that my only account on this computer says it has 102 gig of memory used up.  However, when I open and look at the individual files, they add up to less than 15 gigs.

  • "Error: the xajax Javascript file could not be included. Perhaps the URL is incorrect? URL: /includes/javascript/xajax_js/xajax.js". other posters with a xajax error on this board got the response to go look for developer resources. (i'm not a developer)

    I'm on a mac running 10.6.8, was using Firefox 6.02 when the problem started, i performed a clean install of 7.01, installed the latest Flashplayer, and reinstalled java (the 10.6.5 update file from apple's site).
    I seem able to load video at youtube.com, and was able to load web-based irc chatrooms at ircchat.tv. however, at jamplay.com a paid member site, all of the lessons are flash video, and there's a live video feed chat room that is also flash based, and I am not able to view this content. the video content pops up the error message "Error: the xajax Javascript file could not be included. Perhaps the URL is incorrect?
    URL: /includes/javascript/xajax_js/xajax.js" and the clicking on the "launch chatroom" button does exactly nothing.
    I have contacted the jamplay site team but their recommendations are the steps I have already taken, mentioned above, that did not resolve the issue.
    some links to content on their site visible without being a member:
    http://www.jamplay.com/
    this one has a flash interface that, if things were working, would have a video in the center and members and staff talking abouth that area of the site when you click on one of the title buttons. Now that I am having this problem, nothing is clickable and there's no indication that there should be a video in the center. The error message regarding xajax does not come up at all.
    http://www.jamplay.com/guitar-lessons/beginners/1/527-16-circle-of-fifths
    same thing. video content is missing, xajax error does not appear.
    http://www.jamplay.com/live
    when I load these all content except the video loads on the page. this page does not give me the error at all, just does not load the video
    I can't seem to recreate the actual error without being logged in as a member of the site.
    The apple support team gave me a one-time free suppport ticket to troubleshoot an ethernet issue I was having. Unfortunately, the databases I removed were not deemed either by apple or me to be noteworthy or necessary to retain (all of them were for software I not longer have or use). I don't know which plist file might have been the one I need now. I did reinstall the java and flash items. The only other item that I think it might be is a set of belkin router software that I uninstalled because i'm not using any belkin hardware anymore.
    If someone has any kind of idea I would be most appreciative.

    That's a comment in the file. It has no effect at all.
