Adding Mail receiver to an existing synchronous scenario
Hi all,
I have a synchronous scenario already running fine, it is File to RFC (Sych) scenario. Now the customer wants to receive the response as a mail. I am already receiving the response in a CSV file in a different location, which should also not be disturbed. Could anyone advice me go with an approach to route the response as a Mail to the customer by not affecting the current process.
Regards,
Sherin Jose P
Hello Sherin,
You can sent response in mail format by writing some ABAP code in RFC's Exit which u r using.
First u need to find out is there any exit is available in that RFC where u can send your CSV response file format as an attachment using function SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1
Thanks

Issue with Receiver SOAP adapter for synchronous scenario
Hello All,
We are facing a strange issue with the SOAP adapter in the interface we have setup. This is the 1st time we are using SOAP adapter in our system (PI 7.11 SP7). We are making a synchronous HTTP call to the web service exposed by another system in our landscape. The payload is send with SOAP envelope and there are no credentials to be maintained in PI settings.
The issue is that we are always getting timeout exception in PI audit logs after sending the request (3 minutes - standard timeout value, no additional config for this). But target system has confirmed that they are sending the response back. We tested from our server OS level and have received the response back in the same screen (to verify there is no firewall/port issue in between the systems). But when tried from RWB, it is always giving the timeout exception and we are not able to see any other log.
We have tried checking in the NWA logs as well after increasing the logging level to ALL for com.sap.aii.adapter.soap. But surprisingly, we didn't get any logs at all for the outgoing SOAP call or incoming response and hence we are unable to trace the issue.
We have setup another synchronous inbound SOAP interface (PI exposing the webservice) and it is working fine. We are also able to trace the logs in both audit log and NWA logs.
Is there anywhere else we can check for the logs? Audit logs is showing timeout error and we are not able to see anything in NWA logs.
Does the target system need to maintain PI credentials in the header when they send the synchronous response back?
Are there any specific settings which should be checked to enable the sync communication? (this should not be the case since the inbound interface is working fine)
Please help.
Thanks
JustinHi Amit,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes we had tested successfully via SOAP UI as well (forgot to mention that). We are getting back the expected response in SOAP UI without using any credentials. We got the same response when we tested it through OS commands from PI server.
The WS is hosted by the target system and they haven't maintained any credentials at their end. So when PI is trying to access, we don't need to provide any credentials. My question is, whether the target system should keep any credentials to send the synchronous response back to PI (java stack). We have tried that as well but since there aren't any logs, we are unable to verify whether the credentials are coming correctly.
The service interfaces are correct and PI configuration are OK. I will try the XPI inspector for logs as you have suggested.
Thanks

Synchronous scenario using receiver mail adapter
Hi All,
I am trying to do a Http to Mail synchronous scenario. My requirement is, if the mail has been delivered to the reciver mail server, it should send an acknowledgement/response back to XI. Simlarly when it fails to deliver the message it should send an acknowledgement/response back to XI.
Is it possible to do? If yes, please tell me how can i do this?
Thanks & Regards,

using this method a delivery ack mail is send to the TO address as rightly pointed out.
Now senthil, if you want to you can have a mail sender adapter polling for mails and you can maybe correlate the To address using a BPM and then recognize this to be a delivery ack for the mail you send. Its not concrete as maybe a delivery ack might say it was not successfully delivered too so then you might have to enhance your logic to check the content to see what the mail is all about. Pheww ....
Doesnt seem right.. so I gather the best is to redesign the interface if the flexibility is in your hands.
Other option is to have a acknowledgment request in your Send step of the BPM -
Adding a new reciever to an existing integration scenario of conf in PI7.0
Hi SapAll.
here i have got a requirement to add one more reciever to an existing integration scenario in Integration Directory(Configuration).
this Integration scenario is for sending the idoc MATMAS.MATMAS05 From 5 Different SAP-R/3 Systems to 2 Recievers.
here iam using 5 different business systems with idoc communication channels for sending idocs and 2 business systems for recieving idocs in file format with file adapters.
so when iam trying to create new reciever detarmination or Interface Determination, it says object already exists.
but i can created reciever agreement without any error.
so can anybody guide me on how to create the Interface,Reciever Determinations without any error.
regards.
Varmanow i just created a new business system with file communication channel
Why have a Business System for a FILE channel? We normaly use Business Component/ Service.
You mentioned IDOC SENDER channels....why? For IDOC we just create Receiver channels...unless you want to specify IDOC packaging.
when iam trying to create a reciever detarmination from one of the existing sender system say like BUS_SENDER2 to new
reciver system ex:NEW_BUS_RECIEVER it says object already exists.
Receiver Determination can have the same BUS_SENDER2 system/ service as sender....but it should not have the same Interface Name....this is where PI is throwing the error.
There already exists a Receiver Detremination with BUS_SENDER2 as source system and the same message interface.
You can reuse the same RD by just entering one more receiver system/ service below the already existing one (in the RD)
In short just search your ID and you will see a RD created with the source details which you are trying to use.
If you want to see a difference, then create a new sender service/ system and then use this to create the RD!

Adding an SMTP mail server to an existing Weblogic server on Windows 7
Hi,
I need to send e-mail from pl/sql, using UTL_MAIL, but my google searches don't find how to add an SMTP mail server to my pc.
I have found that Microsoft offers IIS but I think the SMTP server could be part of Weblogic?
Please redirect me to the proper Oracle Mail forum if it exists.
Many thanks for your help.Sure, all you need to do is install the server with the mailbox role (and other roles, if you want), configure whatever mailbox databases you want on it (and configure the other roles you have added), then put mailboxes on it.
Some advice - do not use the GUI for the installation because it will install default mailbox and public folder databases. If you use the setup.com (the text-based installation), you can control databases. We had to rebuild a server once and
the engineer assisting us had us use the GUI and we ended up with a public folder database, which we had to remove (since we have no public folders in our organization).
Once you have the new server installed, you can either create new mailboxes on it, or you can move existing mailboxes from your other databases to it. With the Exchange 2010 move mailbox commands, this is a very simple process.
BTW, when you get around to removing your P2V'ed system(s), make sure you handle any CAS virtual servers (OWA, ECP, OAB) and ensure they are hosted on a server that will remain. You could end up painting yourself into a corner if you don't. -
Proxy Receiver Synchronous scenario

The e-mail account does not exist at the organization
Hi, I have a user account that people receive the following message from:
The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.
<mailserverishere #5.1.1>"
I'ved looked and this particular case could be a quirky one.
The details are:
User account A is the account that Exchange thinks doesn't exist.
User account B is her boss.
A copy of user B's email is sent to A. (done through Delivery Options)
Senders sometime receive an email back saying user A's address doesn't exist.
(which really confuses them because they sent the email to B)
This is the only time the bounce message appears.
I've removed the forward and added it again. Still the problem.
Any clues? You need to verify old delegates in UserB's mailbox by going to Tools -> Options -> Delegates. Remove old UserA and re-add it.
This is because of option “Delegates receives copy of meeting-related mails sent to me” is ticked with old UserA id in Delegates.
If you can't see any delegates then you have another option to delete delegates rule with MFCMapi.
- Open UserB's Mailbox with MFCMapi where UserB's outlook profile configured in online mode (not Cache mode)
- Double click the Mailbox of userB to open.
- Expand Root Container -> Top of the information store -> Inbox folder
- Right-click the "Inbox" folder, and then click "Display Rules Table".
- You can see all rules configured in mailbox.
- Delete the Delegate Rule with "PR_RULE_PROVIDER" column property shows "Schedule+EMS Interface". (this is the same option which you can set with GUI Delegation "Delegates receives copy of meeting-related mails sent to me" but stale copy is still in mailbox.)

IDOC to SOAP synchronous scenario
Hi All,
We have an IDOC to SOAP synchronous scenario in which IDOCs are sent to SOAP by calling a service and then SOAP sends a response back to XI . The response is not sent to SAP- R3. Please suggest on this
ThanksHello Rajesh,
Thanks for your good justification.
Here I have also replicated same kind of scenario and having same kind of issue.
One thing just wanted to confirm - Even though SOAP adapter expects HTTP 200 response back from webservice, still SOAP channel is getting into red with following , and as we have Alert configured ...Alert mail also receiving as part of Error only. So How can we avoid that response ? Is there have any parameter to handle or suppress the response back?
Thanks!

Problem with Mail receiver adapter
Hi,
I have the following scenario, Proxy ABAP-XI -Mail. I have configured my scenario, and the payload is correctly sent to the email address that i have configured in the mail adapter, but in xml format, the point is that I have to send the attached message as txt format.
I have done the following configuration in the receiving mail adapter channel, in the module section:
<b>Processing sequence</b>

localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean Local Enterprise Bean XML2Plain
<b>Module configuration</b>

XML2Plain Transform.ContentDisposition attachment;filename="Gen.txt"
XML2Plain Transform.ContentType text/plain;charset=utf-8
XML2Plain xml.REGISTRO_CABECERA.fieldFixedLengths 52
XML2Plain xml.REGISTRO_DE_DATOS.fieldSeparator ;
XML2Plain xml.REGISTRO_PIE.fieldFixedLengths 10
XML2Plain xml.addHeaderLine 0
XML2Plain xml.conversionType StructXML2Plain
XML2Plain xml.recordsetStructure REGISTRO_CABECERA,REGISTRO_DE_DATOS,REGISTRO_PIE
Maybe i missed something in my configuration, or maybe this is not the right way for doing it, can anyone help me with this??

Query on Mail Receiver Adapter
Hello Experts,
I am using Asyn Proxy to Mail Scenario.
Mail receiver adapter generating the Mail with Excel file attachment by using the following details.
R3 coding (Proxy calling code):-
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-FROM = From Mail ID.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-TO = To Mail ID
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-SUBJECT = 'Alert Mail'.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-DATE = SY-DATUM.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-CONTENT_TYPE = 'application/vnd.ms-excel;name="filename.CSV"'.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-CONTENT = 'Field1,Field2,Field3'.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-CONTENT_DISPOSITION = 'attachment'.
ID COnfiguration:-
-->Selected the Use Mail Package & Content Encoding = base64
-->Selected the Keep Attachment option.
I have two questions as mentioned below.
(1)Can i generate the Mail BODY and Excel file attachment both together in a single mail?
(2)With this same IR & ID Objects can i generate only Mail body without any attachment (i.e.
by changing the Content_Type in R/3 coding) ?
Please suggest.
Thanks & Regards
JageshHi Michal,
Thanks for ur reply.
I referred your Blog /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2006/04/19/xi-rfc-or-abap-proxy-abap-proxies-with-attachments for genreating the
Mail With attachment and Content together.
but when I select the option KEEP ATTACHMENT in the Mail Receiver Adapter and sending only the Content data without any attachment coding as shown in this Blog then also i am getitng attachment(.txt) file and no mail content. In this case i have used the following R/3 coding.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-FROM = From Mail ID.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-TO = To Mail ID.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-SUBJECT = 'subject'.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-DATE = SY-DATUM.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-CONTENT = 'How are u? This is Mail Content'.
Calling the Proxy method.
Important:- with this same coding if i deselct the KEEP ATTACHMENT option in ID then i am geeting
Mail Content properly.
So i think i have to use different communication chaneel one for the Excel file attachment and second for the Mail content.
Please suggest me if i am wrong.

Send XML File as attachement in Mail Receiver adapter
Hi all,
i have the following scenario. i would like to read an XML file from the file system and send this file as an attachement of a mail to a mail receiver specified in this file.
i would like to fill the payload of the mail with some information from the xml file and in addition i would like to send the complete xml file as an mail attachement.
can anybody tell me, how the mail receiver adater needs to be specified ?
best regards,
martinHey,
you can go for dynamic configuration of mail adapter.
In this you need to import a mail structure.
mail details such as to, from, subject and content of the mail are a part of the structure.
In your ID check the Use Mail package and also keep attachments.
Now you can give your details in mapping itself.
whatever you want to map in the content of the mail, map it in the content field.
also your file will behave as an attachment.
refer to this blog.
this is the mail structure. Import it as extenal definitions.

How to attach Excel file in Mail Receiver Adapter?
Hello Experts,
In R/3 coding I have Internal Table data available for which i have to generate an Alert mail with Excel file attachment.
This is the scenario of Proxy sender to Mail Receiver. but I don't know how to convert the Internal Table data into Alert mail excel File attachment.
Please suggest me.
Regards,
JageshHi Santhosh,
Thanks for your suggestion.
But without using XSLT mapping also, I have generated the Excel File attachment.
Throgh R/3 coding I am passing following.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-FROM = From Mail Address.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-TO = TO Mail Address.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-SUBJECT = 'Test Alert mail'.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-DATE = SY-DATUM.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-CONTENT_TYPE = 'text/plain;name="CSV_data.csv"'.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-CONTENT = 'Testing1,Testing2,Testing3'.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-CONTENT_DISPOSITION = 'attachment'.
And in the Mail Receiver Adapter i have configured as following.
Use Mail package and Keep Attachment both options are selectd.
So I am getting the data in different columns in the excel file But How to set the Next ROW in Excel file?
I thnk i am missing something in CONTENT value.

Mail receiver adapter: THeaderREPLY-TO not working on ASMA
Hello people,
(note: all the @ where changed by " at " because of limitations of SDN)
I'm trying to set some adapter specific message attributes (ASMA) in a mail receiver adapter.
Two properties I'm trying to set: THeaderFROM e THeaderREPLY-TO.
The first one is working great, the second one does not work.
My scenario is Soap to Mail. I send a soap message, in the message mapping a user defined function get the mail address (to and reply-to) and set it with DinamicConfiguration like this (hard coded to be simple):
DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration)container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Mail", "THeaderREPLY-TO");
conf.put(key, "reply.to at teste.com";);
DynamicConfigurationKey from = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Mail", "THeaderFROM");
conf.put(from, "from at teste.com";);
As in the documentation, it should work. But the mail message reaches the mailbox with mime header Return-Path = from at teste.com.
Reading all the notes related to mail adapter (and adapter module processing) I found the tool TCPGateway to monitor what is going from adapter engine to the mail server. So I changed a little the scenario to test it and now the scenario is Soap->TCPGateway->MailServer. In the TCPGateway I got this:
EHLO brjgs916.weg.net
MAIL FROM:<from at teste.com>;
RCPT TO:<roberti at mycompany.net>;
DATA
Date: Thu, 5 May 2011 19:55:17 -0000

QUIT
With this information, I found that something is not right in the mail adapter, because it is not writing the relevant reply-to attributes to the mail message.
Some of you has any idea about it?
Thank you in advance.
waldemar roberti
Edited by: Waldemar Roberti on May 5, 2011 5:02 PMSatish,
Actually (for testing purposes) I have the email roberti at mycompany.com set in all fields of receiver mail adapter mail attributes (from, to, cc and bcc). I turned all of them on and of and analysed the result. It seems that the information whe put on ASMA overloads the information on these mail attributes. But, in mail attributes, we don't have a field for REPLY-TO, just on ASMA we have this field.
So... the problem is in REPLY-TO. It has not been set in mail adapter, even if I set it with dinamic configuration.
thank you.

Message flow in SAP PI 7.31 JAVA only for ABAP Proxy synchronous scenario with Oracle DB
Dear Experts,
I am working on a synchronous scenario Sender ABAP Proxy <===> SAP PI 7.31 JAVA only <===> Oracle Database.I have successfully
configured all the proxy configurations as well both Sender SOAP and JDBC receiver channels are showing no error when pinged from
Cc monitoring in NWA.
1.During testing at Tx SPROXY , I am triggering a message and after 5 minutes I receive an PARSING error message with 2 messages in ECC
local IE i.e. Tx SXMB_MONI.
Note : In NWA , I can see only 1 message that too in cancelled status.
2.Seeing the trace of the messages I assume that the messages have not moved from sender ECC system. I am still confused with flow of message
from the Message Audit log. Audit log of error messages.Could any one share the full Audit log of a successful message generated in SAP PI 7.31 JAVA only.
3.I observed that the QIN Scheduler status in ECC is in INACTIVE status. There is no queue id for 2 messages generated in ECC. Does
it should in ACTIVE status in Tx SMQR..
Regards
RebeccaHi Thomas,
Valuable inputs..
1. Since I don't have any audit log for successful message, would you be able to share referring to the
below screenshot whether the message was put into receiver JDBC adapter and JDBC adapter tried to retrieve the Select response from Oracle Database.
2.I have done some setting in Advance mode of the receiver JDBC to increase the time out and other parameters as per SAP note but still the issue is same. If you perhaps have some experience in such scenarios, please share some input so that I can ask the Oracle Database administrator exactly what is required from our side.
3.Regarding the slow response from Oracle , there was some suggestion that the datatype of the request and response should match the column name of the Oracle database. I did that.. Do you have any more suggestion that may be hampering the generation of the response message from the Oracle like SAP note or document.
Regards
Rebecca
