    Hello,
    I need to add new region to display added details to the Paid Off Balance Screen.
    In Jdev, i was able to create a new messageComponentLayout Region and added the correspnding datapoints.
    Should i always create it as flexibleLayout only, i read through the forums this is the method to follow.
    Is my approach wrong, please suggest.
    Thanks!

  • Need to add button to seeded page and perform validation

    Hello All,
    My requirement to add a new button in custom page. when user click on that it should call a workflow.
    I have added a button through personalization. but for validation where should i capture this event and code.
    Can i extend controller through personalization. if not then how to get controller.java file from server.
    When i have tried to get CO from server, i got .class files only. is there any place where i can get .java files.
    I would really appreciate,if anyone can help me.
    Thanks in advance,
    sheetal mittal

    Hi Sheetal,
    You need to extend the CO and in the extended CO you need to handle you event. Using personalization you need to attach your new extended CO with the page so that your event will get handled. Hope this will help you.

  • Creation of new button on same page after insert command

    Hello All,
    I have an application running on apex.oracle.com where my workspace name is shruti_work,username is [email protected] and password is buwigi. The application name inside this is "app2"
    I am trying to achieve one functionality there but unable to get it so felt like seeking an help from experts here. I have two forms there one page1 form which is simplly made on an html region with go button which is navigating the page 1 items value to page 2 but simply passing their address witout updting the database table.
    In Page 2 i created page on a table or view, which made some extra buttons which i dont want like applychanges ,delete button, cancel button. I created a create button even which is updating my database with insert sql command. What i am seeing is after my create button is pressed i got navigated to same page 2 which i want to but the applychange button, cancel and delete button got appeared. I dont get the idea why it is so. i have checked the buttons even i didnt found anything there.
    All i want is when i press create button in page 2, my database get update and at the same page (2) a new button get appears which i have to use for other things. Approaching to this solution i created a button with giving databse action update and condition to this button "value of item in expression 1 is not null" and in expression 1 i passed p2_id...... but my new button is not getting created.
    Any help on this?

    Hi Jeff,
    I dont want applychanges button and delete button in my page 2. But when i created form on a table or view this but got created and i cannot delete it even. When i am navigating my page from page 1 to page 2 and filling the fields in page 2 and clicking create button, at that time i want after updating my table and running my plsql process which i have created which you can see in page processing, my button at same page get generate which i will use to navigate to other form. This button which i want to generate after clicking my create button will be meaningful only if my record get inserted in table. so that is why i want it at that time.
    I dont want any report so i am not creating form on a table or view

  • How to add new button in Customized page....

    Dear All,
    I need to add new button to the page button bar in the UI page.I tried like this in the controller but still i can not get output:
    OAPageButtonBarBean oapbb = (OAPageButtonBarBean)oawebbean.findIndexedChildRecursive("OrderPageButtons");
    OAButtonBean cancelButton = (OAButtonBean)createWebBean(oapagecontext, OAWebBeanConstants.BUTTON_BEAN,
    null, "cancelButton");
    cancelButton.setText("Cancel");
    oapbb.addIndexedChild(cancelButton);
    Is there anything i missedout?
    TIA

    what you are doing incorrectly is
    trying to get the handle to the OAPageButtonBarBean.
    This is a named child of the parent bean(OAPageLayoutBean), and what you are trying to do is find it as a indexed child, this should give you a nullpointer excp in this line oapbb.addIndexedChild(cancelButton);
    since the handle should be null.
    to get the handle to OAPageButtonBarBean, use some like this
    pageContext.getPageLayoutBean().getPageButtons();
    and then add buttons to it.
    Thanks
    Tapash.

    If you have not changed any code it is impossible that a classcast exception can be thrown since we evaluate for duplicate ids. Chances are there if you had given an id of a bean which is added programmatically in the controller then you might end up with this error. Delete the personalization and create the button with a unique name.

  • Just opened a new blank document in Pages (iWork 2009). When I try to type a letter (any letter of text) the computer just "dings" and types nothing.

    Probably you have opened a blank Layout template which requires a Textbox for you to type into.
    Open a blank Word Processing template instead. The two types are listed in the Sidebar of the Template Chooser.

  • I can create documents in Mavericks Pages and Keynote. When I attach them to an email and send to others also using Mavericks, they can't open the attachments. Why might this be?

    I can create documents in Mavericks Pages and Keynote. When I attach them to an email and send to others also using Mavericks, they can't open the attachments. Why might this be?

    The new Pages v5 (Mavericks) uses a new file format with the same extension name (.pages). Older versions of Pages cannot open these documents unless you first export them as Word (.docx) and send these as Mail attachments. The same is true if you originate an IOS Pages v2.01 .pages document.
    You may be sending to people who chose not to install Pages v5 on Mavericks and continue to use Pages ’09 v4.3 instead — especially for the superset of features that are presently not in Pages v5.

    Why don't you talk to apple and find out if backup exists? That conversation with apple will stop your guessing.

  • My mac is converting Word and Excel files into Pages and Numbers files when I click to open them (or download and open them) from an email. I do I get this to stop? It's really aggravating.

    My mac is converting Word and Excel files into Pages and Numbers files when I click to open them from an email. Downloading them and opening them doesn't help. How do I make this stop? I don't use iLife and don't want to; my clients are using Office and it's easier for me, except when I have to copy and paste everything they send me from an iLife file back to Word and Excel. Help!!! It's like Apple has become Microsoft, forcing us to use their apps.

    Do you have Word & Excel installed, if yes, navigate in the finder to an example of each, right click and select 'Get Info' scroll down to 'Open With' and select the appropriate program, check the box that says 'Change All'

    If you Go to the app store on your phone, then go to updates you should have a purchased icon at the top.
    Click on that and it will show the apps you have downloaded before as they are stored on the icloud.
    Then you should be able to click on the app and redownload it, not sure if it will charge but its worth a try.

  • I am connected to the internet and when I google a topic the screen shows what it found, however the screen is gray and nothing happens when clicking on the screen to select the topic.  Is something wrong on my settings.

    I  connected to the internet with my IPAD,  however when using Yahoo search for a topic, the screen comes back grayed out with the topics the search found and nothing happens when clicking on a topic - cannot move around once the search comes back.

    Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
    If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Urgent help needed -in customizing an OAF page --adding new button?

    Hi,
    We are currently implementing an OAF based oracle application.One of the requirements that the customer has is to display an additional button on the page button bar available out of box in an OAF page. This button needs to be enabled/disabled based on certain conditions. Also when the button is pressed a pl/sql api needs to be invoked. I know through personalization a new button can be created in the page button bar. But how do we handle the logic behind the button? Can we extend the page level controller?Will this survive future upgrades? If not then what is the alternative?
    Please help!
    Thanks!

    You can follow the thread Calling PL/SQL Procedure for pl/sql call from controller example.
