Hi,
I'm trying to add a Discussion task flow in TP4, but a got this error:
Discussion forum object Category with ID "1", which is supplied as input to the region, does not exist. Review the error details and supply a valid category ID.
I'd tried with other categoyId but still the error.
Somebody can help me?

Hi gmaggess, thks for reply,

  • WWC-43176 when register Oracle Discussion Forum Portlet.

    Hi,
    i want to install the Oracle Discussion Forum Portlet in our Oracle iAS 10.1.2.0.0.
    My Problem is that all went fine until i want to register the Forum Portlet. I get WWC-43176 Error: The provider URL specified may be wrong or the provider is not running, but i did not belive this error message.
    Have anyone sucessfully done this on this iAS Version? When yes how did you get this to work.
    Any help will be nice.
    thanks

    Hi Peter,
    Have you tried searching this forum for a similar issue. If i am not wrong there a lot of threads discussing the installation issues of the discussion forum portlet. I will let you know if i come across any information.

  • WSRP Portlets in Oracle WebCenter: transforming task flows(ADF) in portlets

    I am doing some research on the portlets offered by WebCenter, but I have some problems related with transferring parameters between them. My idea was to create 2 portlets: a department portlet where I can chose a departmentId which is sent as a parameter to the second portlet, employees, so I will have a table with the corresponding employees from the specified department. These 2 portlets are constructed based on some page flows. The department portlet works fine, but with the employees portlet, I have some problems.
    The JSP page fragment corresponding to the employees has a table based on a ViewObject which has behind him a query based on a bind variable. I have created an EmployeesBean, where I have the method that takes the received parameter and executes the query with this bind variable. Here is the code:
    import javax.el.ELContext;
    import javax.el.ExpressionFactory;
    import javax.el.ValueExpression;
    import javax.faces.application.Application;
    import javax.faces.context.FacesContext;
    import oracle.adf.view.rich.context.AdfFacesContext;
    import oracle.jbo.ApplicationModule;
    import oracle.jbo.Row;
    import oracle.jbo.ViewObject;
    public class EmployeesBean {
    private static final String DEPARTMENT_NUMBER_KEY = "DEPTNO";
    private static final int DEPARTMENT_NUMBER_NULL_VALUE = -1;
    public EmployeesBean() {
    super();
    public void getEmployees(String deptno) {
    System.out.println("enters in getEmployees()");
    int filterDeptno = findDepartmentValue(deptno);
    FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    Application app = facesContext.getApplication();
    ExpressionFactory elFactory = app.getExpressionFactory();
    ELContext elContext = facesContext.getELContext();
    ValueExpression valueExp =
    elFactory.createValueExpression(elContext, "#{data.AppModuleDataControl.dataProvider}",
    Object.class);
    ApplicationModule am = (ApplicationModule)valueExp.getValue(elContext);
    ViewObject emplVO;
    emplVO = am.findViewObject("EmployeesVO1");
    emplVO.setNamedWhereClauseParam("deptno", filterDeptno);
    emplVO.executeQuery();
    Row r = emplVO.first();
    System.out.println(r.getAttribute("FirstName"));
    public void setDepartmentNumber(String deptno) {
    selectDepartment(deptno);
    public void selectDepartment(String deptno) {
    System.out.println("aici e problema");
    AdfFacesContext afContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    System.out.println(deptno);
    afContext.getPageFlowScope().put(DEPARTMENT_NUMBER_KEY, deptno);
    public int findDepartmentValue(String defaultValue) {
    AdfFacesContext afContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    String deptno =
    (defaultValue == null ? (String)afContext.getPageFlowScope().get(DEPARTMENT_NUMBER_KEY) :
    defaultValue);
    return (deptno == null ? DEPARTMENT_NUMBER_NULL_VALUE :
    Integer.valueOf(deptno));
    I have also dragged on the employees.jsff the getEmployees() method so if I go to page definition I have there a binding, which will determine the getEmployees method to be executed every time an event appears. All this mixed with the departments.jsff works in a .jspx page if I create the Event mapping
    Now I am trying to transform this task flow into a portlet. After I create a portlet entry for the page flow, I need to create a navigational parameter, and I am doing this in the employees.xml:
    <input-parameter-definition>
    <description>Main context parameter</description>
    <display-name>Department Number</display-name>
    <name>deptno</name>
    <value>#{pageFlowScope.contextProvider.departmentNumber}</value>
    <class>java.lang.String</class>
    </input-parameter-definition>
    <managed-bean>
    <managed-bean-name>contextProvider</managed-bean-name>
    <managed-bean-class>view.EmployeesBean</managed-bean-class>
    <managed-bean-scope>pageFlow</managed-bean-scope>
    </managed-bean>
    Everything works fine, but when I am trying to use this as a portlet in a WebCenter application, when I select a department the departmentId is transferred to the employees portlet, the selectDepartment is called, but the getEmployees() is never called(the event is not propagated), so no data is returned in my table. I'm a beginner in portlets and I can't see what the problem is. Can anyone give me some ideas?

    issue is described in Unable To Register EBS WSRP Producer In Webcenter (Doc ID 1567314.1)
    Cause
    The root cause is the current implementation of JOC within Oracle Applications which initiates JOC within the Applications rather than at the J2ee level.
    Bug 9850207 - DOC: PORTLET PROVIDER REGISTRATION ISSUE WITH OACORE PROCESSES > 1
    Solution
    There are two workarounds for the issue described
    1. Reduce number of J2EE OACore (OC4J) porcesses to 1.
    2. Add to the OACore J2ee startup parameters    -Doracle.ias.jcache=true
    Note: This changes have to be done in the Oracle E-Business Suite  portlet producer  installation.

  • Can Oracle Discussion Forum be sort by Replies.

    I wonder if somebody knows a way to parse into the Forums URL a way to sort by Replies. Supposed to be a way to help people on common questions, but how can this be done if there are some posts that nobody can see or they have "0" answer. It's kind of hard to browse all the forums looking for posts with "0" Replies.
    Just something to keep in mind in order to make all this better !!!

  • How to create Discussions Task Flow Based on Oracle Content Server

    Hi,
    I need to create an ADF application consisting of the following aspects:
    1) Upload, Download and Share documents (I'm using Documents Services provided by WebCenter Jdeveloper Extensions)
    2) Create discussion threads and forums (I'm trying to use Discussion Services provided by WebCenter Jdeveloper Extensions)
    3) User should be able to do an universal search i.e search both documents and discussions forums. (I'm using Search Services provided by WebCenter Jdeveloper Extensions)
    I'm using "Oracle Content Server 10g for WebCenter" to manage my documents and discussions. While logging into GUI of OCS, I'm able to create and post discussion threads.
    But, I'm unable to create discussions adf task flow based on Oracle Content Server.
    The demos/tutorials/dev guides provided at http://webcenter.oracle.com have only described using WLS_Services managed server which is created and setup using WC Suite 11g.
    But I couldn't find any information to develop these discussion services using Jdeveloper WebCenter Extensions and Oracle Content Server.
    Please let me know, if anyone has tried this or if you have any idea of how to go about it.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Harikiran.

    Hi.
    You have official documentation introducing ADF Task Flows here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/b31974/taskflows.htm
    And you have next step by step tutorials to learn how to implement Task Flows:
    http://yonaweb.be/webcenter_tutorial/part_6_building_taskflow_and_consuming_it_webcenter_portal (Yannick blog post).
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_57/jdtut_11r2_57.html (official JDev samples).
    http://danielmerchanoracle.blogspot.com.es/2011/08/integrar-adf-task-flows-propios-en-una.html (My spanish blog with "how to add a Custom Task Flow into WebCenter Portal Application", 3 different and possible ways).,
    Probably Yannick Blog post if you need to understand how to integrate Bounded Task Flows with WebCenter Portal's.
    Regards.

  • Trying to create an annoucement ADF task flow.  Failure to authenticate

    Experts-
    I have created a JSPX page and added the announcement ASF task flow. After I deploy to my WLS instance I recieve the following error when browing the page. "failure to authenticate the user weblogic, due to: Unable to connect to discussion server."
    The java server log file throws this exception "Caused by: org.apache.ws.security.components.crypto.CredentialException: Failed to load credentials. Inner Exception: [Keystore was tampered with, or password was incorrect]"
    I am able to login to the OOTB discussion web app using the same user but not my custom ADF JSPX page.
    I have configured the JDEV Discussion forum connection with the following properties..
    keystore.location = "E:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\working_domain\config\fmwconfig\webcenter.jks"
    keystore.type=jks
    encryption.key.alias=orakey
    encryption.key.password=welcome1
    keystore.password=welcome1
    I can test this connection with success.
    Anyone know why I can correctly login the OOTB discussion app using my default weblogic user but not the custom ADK app?
    I am also using the simple login page jdeveloper creates via the "configure ADF security"
    Thanks-

    even I am getting the same problem. I created a Discussion Forum Connection from my Jdeveloper. I tested the connection to be successfull.

  • Error JBO-26080 with Discussion Forum portlet

    Hi,
    I'm getting an error with the discussion forum portlet.
    This is one way I found to reproduce this problem:
    - reply to a post in a forum
    - do a search that should include the post added before in the result
    - you should get this error
    Unable to perform the operation: JBO-26080: Error while selecting entity for ThreadSearchEntityObject
    Is this a known problem? Does anybody knows a fix/workaround?
    Thanks in advance
    Bye
    Lorenzo

    Hi Pedro,
    I found the portlet on this page
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/point_downloads.html
    the one called "OracleAS Discussion Forum Portlet".
    On this same page this forum is suggested to report problems.
    I think this problem is due to some BC4J error, maybe a quick fix/workaround is possible, but I do not know this technology.
    In the next day I'll try anyway to check the source, but I was also interested to know if somebody else has the same problem so to exclude the option of some installation/configuration problem of my deploy.
    Thanks again
    Bye
    Lorenzo

  • JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 ADF Library task-flow not shown

    fyi
    Please consider the example application created using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2011/TestsInADFLibraryApp-v0.01.zip
    (in the context of forum thread "JUnit test classes in ADF Library")
    At some point, working with that application in JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0, I used the deployment profile "adflibTestsInADFLibraryApp-ViewController-dp" to create the ADF Library "adflibTestsInADFLibraryApp-ViewController.jar" wich seemed to have an issue.
    When in a File System Connection on the Resource Palette, that ADF Library did not show the task-flow(s) it contained.
    But, I can no longer reproduce this. If I now try to do the same, the ADF Library seems to be OK. The only thing I can think of that changed, is that JDeveloper has been restarted (a day later).
    Showing both ADF Libraries in File System Connections on the Resource Palette illustrates this
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/img/2011/task-flow-not-shown-jdev111150.png
    When I looked inside the ADF Libraries, the respective "task-flow-registry.xml" files were somewhat different:
    - in the "broken" ADF Library there were lots of XML namespace declarations

  • 11gR2 error: call a bounded task flow with method call as default activity

    hi all,
    We migrated several applications to the JDev 11g R2.
    There are 2 applications that contain a bounded task flow where we define Method Call as default activity.
    We need invoke specific actions before opening the page.
    They run well with 11gR1.
    But with *11G R2*, I can’t call directly this task flow with the following URL:
    http://127.0.0.1:7101/MyAPP/faces/adf.task-flow?adf.tfId=my-flow-def&adf.tfDoc=/WEB-INF/flows/my-flow-def.xml
    Message:
    *<SecurityUtils><invokeURLAllowed> ADFc : impossible to call directly the task flow '/WEB-INF/flows/ my-flow-def.xml #my-flow-def' with the help of URL*
    (original message: <SecurityUtils><invokeURLAllowed> ADFc : impossible d'appeler directement le flux de tâches '/WEB-INF/flows/ my-flow-def.xml #my-flow-def' à l'aide de l'URL.)
    Any idea?
    Thanks for you help

    Hi,
    Have a look at the task flow properties, in PatchSet1, a new feature "invokeURLAllowed" is added that prevents bounded task flows from being URL accessible for security reasons. You can swithc this feature on and off
    Frank
    Ps.: I though that bounded task flows that you call from a URL generally needed to have a viewActivity as the default activity

  • Discussion Forum Portlet security

    Hi
    Googling "Oracle Discussion Forum Portlet" I found a number of security advisories, bascially saying that the discussion forum portlet has known security issues and that Oracle recommends using it for testing only and not in a production environment.
    Anyone know if it is safe to use this portlet in a "closed" intranet portal, or is it better not to use it? Any other alternatives?
    Thanks...

    hi:
    I have tried to use this portlet 'DiscussionForum Portlet'.It is not advsable to use it as it has many security issues ,also the DB pooling is of this portlet is not working .

    Can anyone please help.

    I would recommend reading this before posting here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/adf-methodology/PzncJBPMFDw/7mxNblt_ppYJ
    You give far to little detail about the scenario.
    Is it an OOTB taskflow that you extended. If so, which one and what parameter did you add + how did you do it.
    How did you deploy to spaces
    There are a lot of steps in that process that can go wrong so don't expect us to come up with an answer based upon this basic information.

  • Adding Saved Searches task flow to a Page Template

    I am trying to add the Spaces "Saved Searches" task flow to my custom page template. I have tried a few different approaches and none seem to be working.
    First, I tried simply dragging and dropping the task flow from JDeveloper's Resource Palette into my template. JDeveloper created added the following to my template source code:
    +<af:region value="#{bindings.allsavedsearches1.regionModel}" id="pt_r1"/>+
    After uploading the changes to Spaces, there seemed to be no change to the rendered template.
    Second, I tried to simply add the task flow to a page in my test space via composer. However, as soon as I click the "Add" button next to the Saved Searches task flow, the page goes blank (white screen of death) and the following message shows up in the spaces error logs:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: com.sun.el.parser.ParseException: Encountered "\'" at line 1, column 65.
    Finally, I looked at how the out of the box templates implement the saved searches functionality. It appears that the saved searches use a custom folder in the Default Navigation Model. I looked at the source in the Default Navigation Model and found the following node:
    +<customFolder factoryClass="oracle.webcenter.search.view.rc.SearchServiceContextFactory" id="savedSearchesFolder" visible="true">+
    +<attributes resourceBundle="oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.resource.WebCenterResourceBundle">+
    +<attribute attributeId="Description" isKey="true" resourceBundle="oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.resource.WebCenterResourceBundle" value="NAV_APPLICATIONS_CUST_FOLDER_SEARCHES.DESCRIPTION"/>+
    +<attribute attributeId="IconURI" value="/adf/webcenter/foldersavedsearches_qualifier.png"/>+
    +<attribute attributeId="Title" isKey="true" resourceBundle="oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.resource.WebCenterResourceBundle" value="NAV_APPLICATIONS_CUST_FOLDER_SEARCHES.TITLE"/>+
    +<attribute attributeId="WEBCENTER_SERVICE_ID" value="oracle.webcenter.search"/>+
    +</attributes>+
    +</customFolder>+
    I copied the entire node and put it in my navigation model. Upon rendering the template, I can see the new node in the navigation but when I click on it, nothing happens.
    Can someone please tell me if I am on the right track with any of these three approaches? Or where to look to diagnose the issues I am running into?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    UPDATE: I updated the "activation" property in the page def for the allsavedsearches task flow to be "deferred". Now I am getting an ADF popup menu with two menu items: "My Searches" and "Other Members" but clicking on the items does not trigger anything...
    Any thoughts? What additional information would be helpful for analyzing this issue?

  • Adding ADF task flow to page as region fails on first request

    Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0, I've created a simple task flow that executes a method call (to set some bind variables and issue a SQL query), then forwards to a jsff page. I've then added a region to another page and dragged this task flow onto my region.
    When I run the page, I see the following in the log:
    <24-Jul-2009 14:22:29 o'clock BST> <Error> <HTTP> <BEA-101020> <[ServletContext@19304275[app:pipeline module:pipeline path:/pipeline spec-version:2.5]] Servlet failed with Exception

         Truncated. see log file for complete stacktraceAnd the Page Loading animation continues indefinitely. If I make a second request to the same page, the same NullPointerException appears in the log but the page loads successfully. It seems that the first request from any new session doesn't complete, but subsequent requests do.
    Can anyone give me any hints about what might cause the oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.renderkit.rich.FormRenderer to throw a NullPointerException at line 234?

    Hi Branislav.
    Since I don't have the source code for oracle.adf.* and oracle.adfinternal.*, it's very difficult to do any meaningful debugging. Debugging the code that I do have access to (apache packages), appears to show that the oracle rendering class fails when it gets to closing my af:form tag. I've removed the af:form and the page is now working correctly.
    At some point I'm going to have to reinstate this form though :-\

  • Doco/functionality mismatch: Adding a Bounded Task Flow to a Page

    Hi JDev team
    With JDev 11g TP4 and the latest published ADF Guide in hand, under section 14.3 "Adding a Bounded Task Flow to a Page", subsection "To add a bounded task flow containing pages to a JSF page:" it notes that when you drag n drop a bounded task flow from the App Navigator into a JSF page you get the choice of creating a button or link. I don't get this option, instead I can create a region or a dynamic region in the drag n drop submenu.
    Cheers,
    CM.

    Chris,
    note that it says "containing pages", not "containing page fragments". If your taskflow contains page fragments "jsff" then the choice is a region, if it is pages (jspx) then the choice is button or link to launch the taskflow.
    Let me know if this still doesn't work for you
