Adding Participants to Roles in ALIP 1.5

The option to add participants to roles in ALIP doesn't exist if the participant is a member of the process administrator group. Why would this be the case and can it be changed?

administrators in BPM (ALIP 1.5/1.7) are not allowed to have roles, since their are not intended to participate in processes.
There are no plans yet to change this, but you have more features in BPM with Workspace Extensions.

Depending on where you are getting your list of participants from, you could write a service to do this... In one case, the client had all their user information and permissions in a database. A nightly process was executed to keep the database and the directory insync.

endIn the case for roles, they should be manually added, however, if you already have them in Studio, you can just do a 'Smart' publish, and the roles will be created for you.

How to remove transaction that was added under Menu - Role Menu

We have roles that we need to remove some transactions.
These transactions were added under Menu - Role Menu and expanded for ex: Logistics and Picked Miro transaction.
When I go to PFCD and check under s_tcode I cannot remove Miro transactions since it's grayed out.
The only way to remove this is to go back to the Menu and do a find on miro and work through the menu until I get to Miro transaction and then delete it.
Is there another way to accomplish this.

This is the intended way a role built from a menu works. What might be the use of an authorization without any corresponding transaction to start it? It is only a risk...
Unless of course you know better or design differently and don't make the effort to adjust SU24, then you can insert manually or cause "changed" authorizations, but PFCG will not look at it from a "your own fault" view and not adjust it or protect it against illogical changes.
To use the discipline of the one approach but keep the flexibility of manual authorizations is not possible for S_TCODE, S_RFC and S_SERVICE objects (the entry points).

Adding users to roles in the new preview portal (new RBAC feature) does not work

When I click the Invite Users/Add button for any of the 3 roles in the new preview portal, the page doesn't load and instead, it instantly redirects to an HTTP 520 error page. Can anyone please look into this and fix it? It's been this way since last week,
which is when I checked it out but it is quite possible it has been this way for longer.

How to handle Custom field added in BP : Role Bill Account

Hi Friends,
I am working on an interface which creates Bill Account role for a BP but the problem is there are about 15 Custom fields added to standard BP transaction in BA role.
As I am using BAPI_BUPA_FS_CREATE_FROM_DATA2 for creating the BP and
BAPI_BUPA_CENTRAL_CHANGE for changing the BP role Bill Account?
Can anyone tell me how to handle those custom fields in the existing BAPIs or there is some other way of doing it?

I have seen these BAPIs but are they used with normal BAPIs for BP creation and change.
For example : I create the BP using BAPI_BUPA_FS_CREATE_FROM_DATA2 and for the Custom fields I should use these BAPIs as suggested by you alongwith the create BAPI.
And will it work for Changing the BP also.

Adding Internet-Printing role ends with error 0x800f0922

I spend the last two days googling and troubleshooting the issue but no luck.
Tried so far:

IRM Web Services Adding a New Role to a Context

We are in the process of using the IRM web services to create a system that will automatically create users/contexts and seal documents over the web.
So far I can successfully create users and groups and assign permissions properly as well as create context.
I am having trouble adding roles to the context.
The error I'm getting is "The attribute 'Features' is mandatory".
The problem is that there is no function to add features to the ContextRole object.
How do I set up the features so that I can save then new ContextRole?

Response from engineering on your latest questions:
Depending on which web service code generator is used, collection typed properties may or may not be provided with set operation. If the code generator does provide a set method for collections, then you can just specify the set of features you require as so:

features.add(feature);
ContextRole role = new ContextRole();
role.setFeatures(features);
However if the set method is NOT provided, then you need to manipulate the collection directly, by using the get method and then using the standard collection methods to alter the contents.

ContextRole role = new ContextRole();
role.getFeatures().add(feature);
These two examples are functionally the same, they both create a context role object with one feature.

Participant assigned roles not refreshed until they log to workspace

Hi !
We are using Oracle BPM 10.3.1 with latest hotfix with Hybrid LDAP eDirectory 8.8 SP5 (supported).
If we restart the engine and ask via java or pbl for participants with a specific role, the query does not returns info. But if those users start to login to their workspaces, the query starts to include those participants in the result. One side problem of this, is that after every engine restart, users do not keep recieving mail notifications about the processes they are in, until they login to their workspace at least once.
Any clues ? This is happening since we made this installation. We recently installed last hotfix, but the problem persists.

After applying SP12 in the portal landscape (EP 6.0), the role transports only work in our test environment, but not in production. Even the manual corrections suggested in OSS note 1002832 didn't help. I can preview all the iviews in the roles with my user id (admin id), but as soon as I log-in with the end user id nothing shows up [Not even the top level navigation tabs show up]. The following is the portal authorization methodology I chose.
1. I assign users to the user groups
2. I assign user groups to the roles
I want to emphasize that all is well in our test environment, it is the production environment that shows inconsistency. Let me know if anyone has any pointers.

Adding New BP Role In CRM 5.0

when i create a new BP role using BUSD it is not displaying in roles of BP using Trans.code BP and i am not able to add this BP Role in Field Group BP Role (IMG-> cross-app-> BP->Basic Settings->Field Groups->cong. field groups by BP Role) to this role when i try to add this role it displaying message that it is not in TB0003 table can any one can give solution for this problem.

It is not necessary to have same key for business Partners Mapping between CRM to ECC.
But, it would be advisable to create the Z role instead of using the standard role. As, you can make any changes to Z role.
In order to map the BP"s , you need to maintain settings in T code "PIDE" & PIDV" where in you can maintain mapping of CRM role to ECC Account group.

Problem with adding participation date as updateable field during HRBEN0001

We have a need to update the participation date on our health plans (infotype 0167) during the enrollment process after modifying an adjustment reason (infotype 0378). We used SE84 to add the participation date (RPBEN_SA-PARDT) to screen 0100 of program SAPLHRBEN00ENROLLMENT. We can now type in the new date in the field but when you hit enter, it immediately reverts to the old date (that was already displayed by SAP). We even tried saving without hitting enter but, of course, this didn't work either. We've tried everything and can't seem to make it work. Because of the nature of screen 0100 we are having trouble turning on debugger to see if we can see what happens. It looks like the screen has the field defined as not updateable but we can't find where that is set. Our insurance providers often require us to set the participation date to dates other than the default that SAP is setting. It doesn't appear to have anything to do with the field on infotype 0167 since we can modify the participation date field there through PA30. This gives us a work around but makes the process very tedious for out Benefits user since she often has large numbers of changes. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Interesting as we also try to get field participation date maintained through benefit enrollment screen. The problem is the way SAP
is written in function 'HR_BEN_MAINTAIN_PLAN'. When selecting a life change event in benefit enrollment, SAP populates a list of internal tables (e.g. plan_offer internal table in which participation date is already defaulted to a date like current date).
When you click on a plan to enroll (e.g. health plan), a corresponding function is called ('HR_BEN_MAINTAIN_HEALTH_PLAN' for health plan). This function controls the window and logic for you to select the plan option / coverage. Within this function, it first populates fields in the window (display or not) with pre-populated records in the internal table, then overrides only fields currently
editable in this window (i.e. health plan option, dependent coverage). Therefore, even you add participation date and make it editable field into this window, this field will still be overrided with what's stored in the pre-populated internal table once you hit return or 'Accept'.
We even created a note with SAP to see if they can provide any suggestion; the answer is to submit a request for development for SAP to review.
What we ended up doing is to do this in two steps. First, enroll in a plan through benefit enrollment (knowing participation date value is not what we want). Once done, click on 'Overview' to go to 'Benefit Overview' so user can pick a record to edit (we have to do enhancement here to enable 'Change' tab here). This is to reduce the pain of having to get out benefit enrollment tcode, then go to benefit overview tcode to change participation date.

Adding participants to the conference by dilout

Hi everyone,
We have a problem with Lync 2013 conferences.
When we try to add a participant by calling him to the phone number - we receive error that "Phone number can not be reached".
If try to add the same number few times - it will dial normally. It usually takes up to 4 times for number to be dialed.
If dial directly from Lync (not from the conference) - no one have any problem.
Can some one suggest something?

We have 2013 Lync, containing 3 FE servers with collocated meditation servers and DNS load balancing. 2 EDGE servers, also with DNS load balancing. And 2 Cisco ISR as BorderElements.

This happens with multiple numbers randomly. It can be so that you need to redial number 4 times to dial out and next day same number will dial out from the first try.
It happens when users dial out from the conference to any PSTN destination.
And we transform all numbers to International with Lync normalization rules.
Internally we have numbers like "tel:+37517293*****;ext=7XXX"
We have only one DialIn plan with region assigned.

Set-CsDialPlan cmdlets to make sure that all dial plans have a region assigned.
You can use the Test-CsDialInConferencing cmdlet to test that the access numbers for the specified pool work correctly.

Adding new Users ,Roles in existing application except jdev

Dear All,
I am creating a test application to workaround with adf security, I created some users, enterprise roles and application roles, gave proper mapping to the adf resources(jsf and taskflows), and every thing is working fine. I am doing all this thing in integrated wls server. But suppose if the user wants to create some new users, roles then how will he do this things ?
I accessed the integrated wls console but got no hints in deployments section-> application->security tab.
Is there any other way..?

Hi,
there is no unified API in ADF Security to manage identities. If you work with the WLS integrated LDAP then you can use OPSS (see Fusion Middleware documentation) and access the JPS factory and provider. If you identities are stored in other system (RDBMS, OID etc.) then you use APIs exposed by these technologies (You may also want to check with Oracle Identity Management to see if there are APIs they expose for this). Because ADF Security does not provide its own identity store, changing users and roles is not in the domain of it (I should say "not yet" as it is on my wish list)

Adding tcode to role in display access.

Hello,
Please can someone suggest how we can add transaction codes to a SAP role with only display access.
That means users should have only display access when they execute that transaction. Please suggest.

I suggest that your run an authorisation trace to see what objects those transactions reference.
Create a role with those transactions and objects in display only mode. Then get a functional consultant to negative test those roles.
Don't assign with other roles which give change access to the auth objects you have restricted.

Authorization data is updated after adding transaction in role menu

Hi Experts,
When we add transaction in the menu of a role, the objects and organization levels related to the transaction are not getting reflected in the authorization data. Only object S_TCODE is coming. As an example if we add transactions MM01, MM02, MM03 in the role menu, under authorization data only object S_TCODE is coming. No other authorization object or org level are coming.
This is only happening in one system. Kindly suggest.
