Participant assigned roles not refreshed until they log to workspace

Hi !
We are using Oracle BPM 10.3.1 with latest hotfix with Hybrid LDAP eDirectory 8.8 SP5 (supported).
If we restart the engine and ask via java or pbl for participants with a specific role, the query does not returns info. But if those users start to login to their workspaces, the query starts to include those participants in the result. One side problem of this, is that after every engine restart, users do not keep recieving mail notifications about the processes they are in, until they login to their workspace at least once.
Any clues ? This is happening since we made this installation. We recently installed last hotfix, but the problem persists.

After applying SP12 in the portal landscape (EP 6.0), the role transports only work in our test environment, but not in production. Even the manual corrections suggested in OSS note 1002832 didn't help. I can preview all the iviews in the roles with my user id (admin id), but as soon as I log-in with the end user id nothing shows up [Not even the top level navigation tabs show up]. The following is the portal authorization methodology I chose.
1. I assign users to the user groups
2. I assign user groups to the roles
I want to emphasize that all is well in our test environment, it is the production environment that shows inconsistency. Let me know if anyone has any pointers.

VNC - remote computer now not discoverable until after log in

I've been using Chicken of the VNC on a G4 laptop (OSX 10.4.7) to control a headless Intel Mac Mini. It's worked great so far. Through VNC I could log in to the Mini and get going.
But I just updated the Mini to Intel 10.4.7 and iTunes 7 and now the Mini is not discoverable by Chicken until after I log in to the Mini. I had to connect a monitor and keyboard to do this, which entirely goes against the point of the headless Mini.
I have Remote Desktop turned on on the Mini and I'm also now running OSXVNC. Either through OSXVNC or Apple's remote desktop server the Mini cannot be found by Chicken until I log in to the Mini.
Is there another setting in the OS that will allow a remote computer to log in using VNC? What would have changed here?

They told me to perform the following 2 actions.
OS X Mavericks: Reset your computer's PRAM
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
After resetting the PRAM, I did not notice any change, but resetting the SMC solved the problems.

AS Java sessions are not closed until they time out

Hello Experts,
we have a SAP PI system to integrate SAP R/3 with external applications and recently we are facing a problem with inactive sessions. There's a new application we are setting up that consumes a webservice published by this SAP PI system. The scenario is SOAP --> PI --> PROXY. What we have noticed is that when the application sends loads of requests sometimes the system fails. This is because we are reaching the maximum number of open sessions in AS Java (1000). Investigating a bit more we found out that the sessions are not "closed" once the communication between the application and SAP PI has finished. Those sessions are open until they are automatically timed-out by the system after 1800 sec.
We have found the notes below in SAPNet:
Note 1363751 - ICM: Java Web sessions are not terminated
Note 1307940 - New HTTP session opened for every web service call
However, none of them are applicable to our system because it is more updated:
SAP PI 7.1 EHP1 SP002

We have tried to close connections from the application that consumes the webservice but with no success. The sessions remain in the server until they are timed-out. Could you please tell us if this is the normal behavior of an AS Java system? Is this the way it should work? If so, can you tell us how to decrease this timeout so the inactive sessions are cleaned faster? We tried to find it but we didn't manage. Is there any way to close the session once the communication has finished?

Hi Roger,
You can do the following things to help solving your issue:
1. Decrease session timeout default value of the web container: Use the NetWeaver Administrator
Open Application Modules plugin within NWA
Configuration Management -> Infrastructure -> Application Modules
Set the desired timeout web module you are using, in minutes.
The default value 0 in the NWA means that the value is not modified
and the default value of 30 minutes timeout will be used.
2. Increase the max. no. of Sessions in Configtool
The max. number of Sessions can be set in Configtool in the Expert
mode. There is no limitation for the parameter.

Page does not refresh untill F5 pressed

I am using HTMLDB 1.6 and Oracle reports 10g.
When users completes the data-entry on HTMLDB forms, presses submits button, and a branch provided in the page takes user to Oracle Reports (by giving a URL). Reports show the data update by users on HTMLDB form.
Reports are drill-down, they have links to HTMLDB pages, which take the user to HTMLDB form. URL behind the link is

Now suppose a users makes an entry in HTMLDB form, goes to Oracle reports (automatically) where he finds updated data. But now when he clicks on the link which takes the browser window back to HTMLDB form again, he finds the OLD data (data not updated, which he did last time). When user presses F5 (refresh) the page comes with updated data.
Please advise the method which eleminates need of presses F5.

I suspect your browser is caching the old page. If that is the case, you can adjust (or instruct users to adjust) the browser settings to avoid this. But there is something else that you should start thinking about for when you might want to upgrade to version 2.0 or later: links to an HTML DB page that do not contain the current session ID will result in the user having to login (even if the user is already are logged in in the current browser session). You will be able to keep them in the current HTML DB session, however, if you use a technique we recently discussed (I'll look for it if you're interested).

New roles not committed until restart of server?

Hi all,
I'm working with WL 7.0 and have run into a problem as follows (all the
steps are executed programmatically).
1. Create a new Group
2. Create a new Role that depends on the new group.
3. Create a new User
4. Add the user to the new group
I would now expect that a call to isCallerInRole() with the newly created
role for the new user would return 'true'. However, this doesnt't work until
the server has been restarted. Anyone know why this is the case?

Oh yea, You are right. It would be a kind of workaround. The weird part of this is that when i look at secpol.msc in local policy -> "User Rights Assignment" -> "Log on as a service" propertise, there is no user name, instead
of that is "S-1-5-21..." GUID . When i add normal user name there eg. "Sql_services" then services start normally.
Funny part is that this GUID is none of my list from "wmic useraccount get name, sid" .
Why windows is deleting my user and inserting there some weird GUID ??
BTW i actually noticed that it happening also at normal server work, without restart, when i stop SQL service then i cannot start it again :/

LS/SQL item content not refreshed until I resave the properties of this ite

Hi everybody.
I have developed a page in OAS Portal containing several PL/SQL items in it. This items have procedures stored in the database, and they take the data from the database.
The problem is that this items only take the information the first time, the rest of the times when I refresh the page, they always show the same information, they don`t refresh themselves!! The problem is because of the caching, they store the information in the OAS Portal cache and they always show the same information.
The only way to solve it is to modify the call to the stored procedure (in the properties menu of the PL SQL item) and resave it. In this way, the next time the item will show the new information, but only for one time!!! The rest of the times the problem is always the same. i have also tried to modify the cache configuration in the page properties, but it doesn´t make anything.
I have read several threads that deal about the same problem, but I do not have met any clear solution.
Plase, can anybody give me some advice?.... or the solution??

Hey! I spoke about turning off Portal Cache and Web Cache!
Portal Cache
1. OAS EM: Portal:portal -> Portal Cache Settings -> Caching Off
2. Restart HTTP_Server & OC4J_Portal
Web Cache
1. Portal: Administer -> Global Settings -> Cache -> Maximum Expiry Time 0 Minutes
2. Maybe you need to invalidate items in cache... I forgot
Of course, it's not the best workaround to turn off caches :-(((

Network not available until user logged in

I am setting up Mac Mini / OS X 10.9.5 as a local web and build server. I have set in place LaunchDaemons to run Apache and Jenkins on startup, however I can't reach these services, when the mac server boots up or reboots. Can't ping the server either. Looks like the network interface is not connected to network until the user logs in. Tried both Wifi and Ethernet, same problem. Also, I can't start the server with Automatic Login and then lock the screen, because FileVault is enabled and Automatic Login is not available. Turning off FileVault is not an option. If the user logs in network is available and all services are reachable.
How can I enable the network on boot without logging in the user?

Buddies are not visible until they come online.

I'm having a problem on my iBook. When I log into iChat on buddies online are shown. All the other are hidden from sight. It isn't that big of a deal, but it is slightly annoying. Is there anyway to fix this problem without having to re-install the OS?

I actually use Textspander
This is a System Preference Pane add-on.
It come with several Presets for adding date and time to documents.
I have several of my own preset now that include the HTML code to work here.
So I type the required keys that Textspander recognises and substitues the HTML code for the Sig.
The code is a simple case of telling an image to be put in place. It goes on to add Date and Time of post.
The actual pic was created in Photoshop Elements 2. It was written by hand with a Graphire Wacom pad, which gave it a slightly more natural look. I used .gif format so that the background can be removed and stay clear. I messed about with Layer Styles to create the shadow.
The Image was then posted to Flickr There is also other services that will hold your pics or you could use any webspace you have.
The image can in fact be anything

I held the mouse down and selected Properties from the menu.
The Address of the Pic has to be highlighted and then Use Control and C to copy to the clipboard. (The menu item for Copy does not work for this).
The rest is just the HTML code to make the pic show up.

Region templates not refreshed until after restart

Hi guys,
Another problem we are facing is when updating region templates. On a local workstation with JDev and a local SSXA connected to a remote UCM, changes to the region template's underlying JSP are taken into account on every page load. However, when using the remote SSXA connected to the same remote UCM, changes to the region template are not taken into account until the SSXA server is restarted.
Surely there must be some caching parameter somewhere? How can we modify this behaviour?

Download 13502977 from MyOracleSupport and upgrade the UCM server .
After that install the JDev plugins from the upgraded server by navigating to :
/Oracle_ECM1/ucm/Distribution/RIDC/jdev
/Oracle_ECM1/ucm/Distribution/SiteStudioExternalApplications/jdev
After this test to see if the issue still persists .
Reason for asking this is I am not able to see any issues with SSXA region templates .

Is it possible on startup to make Tab Groups not load until they are selected?

I was wondering if there is a way to make the Tab Groups in the background not bother to load until that Group is selected. I.e. when I start up Firefox it loads the Group I was last on normally, but all the ones in the background don't load until I access them.

Double click in alv grid not refreshing until I click elsewhere

I'm very new to abap and just managed to partly implement double click in an alv grid.
I also created a button that calls the exact same function as double click (selects the row and fills in the data areas on the page). When I use the button, everything works fine, but when I double click, nothing changes until I click on a tab or other form of input button on the page.
I have followed the process in debugging and can't find the fault anywhere.
My double click is implemented by:
           create object lcl_event_receiver.
           set handler lcl_event_receiver->double_click
                for search_alv_grid.

After ApplyMRD Report Rows on some clients are not refreshed

hi all,
i've come across an issue regearding mr delete on some clients using ie for acess to an apex application.
a report displays a number of rows of a single table.
the user is able to check some rows.
a special button branches to an url "javascript:confirmDelete(htmldb_delete_message,'MULTI_ROW_DELETE');"a standard mrd process, using table pk, deletes the checked rows.
most of the clients work fine.
on some clients the deleted rows still appear in the report. the shown data will not be refreshed untill user logs out and logs in to the application.
i double checked that the rows are physically deleted from the table.
any idea if this is an ms ie issue and whch option has to be changed?
and no, customer can't switch to ff because of administrative policy.

That could happen if region or page caching is enabled. If yes, disable it by setting it to never.

Report does not refresh when link to page

I have a report on page 1 with a column link to a report on page 2.
The link sets items on page 2.
If I use the 'Page in this Application' from the column link, the items on page 2 are set and the report is automatically refreshed.
If I use the 'URL' in the column link, the items are set but the report on page 2 is not refreshed. I have more than 3 items to pass via the link so I have to use the URL. The url syntax is correct - if I click a Go button on page 2 the data refreshes fine.
I have the same problem when clicking a tab that I have set to clear the page items - the tab clears the cache on the target page but the data in the report is not refreshed until I click the go button.
The items on page 2 are select lists and text (always submit when enter pressed).
How can I get the report on page 2 to auto refresh without the user having to click the Go button?

I can't post the pages (site reasons) but here's the debug.
All the item values are set correctly to what I want but at point 041 - I get the custom "no rows returned error". If I click the refresh button (essentially a submit with go) the date appears.
I am now using the link set up to go to 'Page in Application' with clear cache and 3 item variables set and reset pagination ticked and the request of Go (its the same result without the request and the pagination unticked).
Any ideas?

I bought the phone when it came out last October. The connection did not work at first, then started without warning in December. It worked perfectly for 2 months then stopped again when IOS 6.1.2 was Installed.

I have forwarded these questions about the version of Exchange server that is being used and whether Microsoft host the mai themselves to the IT Dept but I will not get a reply from them until tomorrow.
In the meantime I have also tried:
Deleting and re-creating the account AGAIN!
And re-setting the phone (recommended as a solution to a similar problem with an iPad in another forum.
But please remember that:
The phone would not connect for 2 months after I bought it
Then started working unexpectedly in December
Then stopped working again when IOS 6.1.2. was installed
Also why am I the only person affected by this when colleagues with iPhone 3s and 4s who use the same mail system are not (I am still trying to find one with an iPhone V to see if their's works).
Like I said I think that there must be a fault, either with my own phone or with iPhone Vs in general.

Why the roles that I gave, does not refresh instantly on BPM Administrator?

Another question (sorry for being so annoying...lol), Look I gave to a participant a role using Oracle BPM Administrator. On some occasions, the roles refresh instantly, but in other occasions take a long time to refresh(3 to 4 hours) . Why this happen??? Is there a option what I could force to refresh instantly????. I was cheking on the database and I found that the table is updated as follows: CoreNevadoEngine.PARTICIPANTROLE.
Any adiccional questions I'll be ready to respond.

You might also want to take a look at support note 1073094.1 on Oracle Support. It looks like all of the user's active sessions must be logged out in workspace in order for the update to occur via the directory poller. Otherwise the update will be scheduled for a later time.
This may be fixed in 10.3.2, I'm not sure.
