Adding/reading comments on an item

Hello,
Is it possible in portal 904 to implement the kind of functionality which is used at http://slashdot.org/ ?
So a content manager puts an item on a page, and viewers are able to comment on this item and read comments made by others.
Would the best way to implement this by allowing viewers to create subitems (is that possible to do that without allowing them to create a new item?), should I make some kind of a custom item, or can't this be done in the content management part of portal and should I build something with the PDK in java and/or PLSQL ?

When I wrote I tried a simple example, I meant a really simple example.
I wrote a procedure which takes the itemID and print it on the screen....
That way, I know that the solution Sanjay provided does work and is understood by me. I can call a custom procedure and have the item_id as one of its input variables.
Now I have to workout this solution, create a table to store the results (at least with item_id, comment and username), create one or more procedures to write and show (and maybe even edit) a comment etc.
At this point in our project, I just had to know whether this kind of functionality is possible or not.

I am creating my site in Muse and then will be publishing to BC. My website will be have a least 7,000 items on it. I want to be able to have user review comments for EACH item. will I be able to do this using BC? I am guessing every item would have to have it's own page and then a module added to it. Ask for Text for Set Spotlight Comments for Finder Items

I want the text from the "Ask for Text" to go in to the "Set Spotlight Comments for Finder Items" action, but they don't seem to interact.
Any ideas?

first you make a new variable using variables tab. then you add the action "set value of variable" right after the action ask for text. drag the variable you made to the variable field of that action. this will set the value of that variable to the output of the previous action.

Adding Resolution Comment with an e-mail in SCSM 2012

Hi,
I installed Exchange Connector 3.0. Using Parsing Keywords Technicians can resolve or close incidents with sending an e-mail. But it's unable to use it because they can not add resolution comment.
Dou you have any idea about adding resolution comment when resolving the incident with an e-mail?

I took a closer look at the exchange connector v3 manual. And in the manual it says the following. In the 3rd paragraph. That is what you want to do? resolve an incident and the mail you are sending will be added as a resolution. Then the exchange connector
can achieve this.
I am not using the connector myself but according to it's manual it is possible.
When an email message with an incident ID in the subject also contains the configurable keyword for resolving, for example
[Resolved], or closing
[Closed], the connector does the following
1. Changes the status of the incident accordingly, updates the action log, and attaches any files.
2. Adds the sending user as the resolving or closing user.
3. Adds the content of the most recent email message to the resolution description field when the [Resolved] keyword is sent.
4. Resolves and closes the incident (in separate transactions) if both the [Resolved] and the [Closed] keywords are present. First, the resolution is logged in the database immediately,

i want to make this tab to be shown on the screen when the order type is UB is stock purchase order.i dont know how to make this condition and where should i place it so that this tab can come in effect only when the stock purchase order appears.

Problem with adobe reader, commenting

one of our authors is using adobe reader x 11,1, and I send him a pdf (enabled commenting and measuring), but for some reason the commenting-fields does not show on his screen?
should I save the pdf in another way?

What do you mean by "commenting fields" exactly? By “commenting filds” I mean the tools in top of the page – delete, highlight etc. When I send the pdf, I save it as “file - save as - reader extended pdf – enable commenting and measuring”, otherwise the commenting tools normally don’t appear by the author.
Are they existing comments? no, it is the text in his pdf-book he needs to correct
Is he able to access the commenting tools? no
You can try sending a non-enabled version since Reader 11 can add comments to a non-enabled document. will try that J

Hello Everyone,
I need to know that how can we read comments from PDF file programmatically using C++.
I was thinking was to read from file itself. I thought the PDF file must have some text like "StartComments" and "EndComments". (if we open it in notepad) but didn't found anything like that.
Any suggestions ?
Or anyone can refer any free Library which does this thing.

I don't see the camera listed for any version of iMovie:

That means that any videos you shoot will have to be imported into iPhoto and then moved to iMovie.

It is Oracle standard functionality. Account generator can be customised as per need.
Define your Accounting Flexfield structure for each set of books.
Define flexfield segment values and validation rules.
Set up Oracle Workflow.
Choose whether you want to use the default Account Generator
processes
Then do one of the following for each set of books:
Choose to use the default Account Generator processes.
Customize the default Account Generator processes, test your
customizations, and choose the processes for a flexfield
structure, if necessary.

Adding facebook comments to large product page

hi guys I just wanted to go over the facebook intergration process *** ive read this http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/kb/add-social-media.html
but couldnt find the container.html page in admin, only dreamweaver.
plus when ive checked out the forums on intergrating facebook comments there seems a work around because the current module doesnt work the way people want it. to.
Is this still the case or should I go about intergrating facebook as described http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/kb/add-social-media.html
What I want to do is use it on this site on the large product section instead of the comments module ive inserted

would adding the script to the large product template manually work better than adding it to the facebook container.html page in the social modules folder?
plus I got the impression peeps had trouble having the comments for that one item showing just on its own page. I want just comments for the product on show appearing on that product page not just any old list of random comments. Is this easy to do now or is there extra url tags needed?

If you just want to keep it simple, Facebook has a social widget system that works from the URL, as long as the URL stays the same the comments will he there for that product or whatever you need.
It is very easy to implment and even has a wizard to help you config the size and look.

How can i read comments from properties file in the right order??

I want to build a console that read a properties file and print to the screen the property name, property value and property description and the developer can change the name or the value or the description of the property and update the property file.
But the problem in using the properties class that it doesn�t read the comment and not save the properties in their order so I can�t couple description and name of the property.
Does any one know any utility that do the job or know how to solve the reading the comments problem???

So i'm as developer imagine that somebody edit properties in GUI or console. So you have 3 text fields: property name, property value, and propety description. Then developer save edit changes, then text fields maped to properties file and:
text field "property name" and text field "property value" construct property:
name=valuetext field "property name" adding ".description" and text field "property description" construct property:
name.description=descriptionFor one described property, you will have put two properties.

Hi,
Generally through the INCL_EEW* structures,you can add the custom fields for the Bid Item only under the BASIC DATA tab.If you want to show up a field on the Item overview screen,then this will need std code modification(screen modification) or need to modify the HTML template for the BID item overview screen in the ITS service BBP_QUOT which will need lot of HTML expertise.
