Adding '...' to list truncated data
hi,
i was hoping that someone could help me find a way to add a '...' to data displayed in a list when the data is truncated due to size width restrictions in the list.
thanks
It is already the case with spark List. Are you using a mx.List or a spark.List?

Is there any object in labview that contains a list of data for the user to select (selection one at a time) or add a new data?
List and table controls -> listbox..is that what you are thinking of?
The listbox presents the user with a list of options, and you can set it to only accept one selection at a time...Adding new data to the list can not be done directly by the user but if you make e.g. a text control and a button you can programatically insert new objects described in the text box when the button is pressed...(see example).
If you need more than one column you have the multicolumn listbox. If you want the users to write new entries directly yu can use a table and read selected cells using it's selection start property to read what cell has been selected.

How do I delete duplicate songs in my iTunes? I have hundreds and I don't want to delete them one by one. They were all added on the same date, so sorting by the date won't help.
Hi, if this is in regards to your library simply open up itunes and do the following steps:
Click File
Scroll down to "show duplicates"
A list will then appear of your duplicate song titles.
Be sure to CAREFULLY review each song to make sure it is a duplicate ( as I have some music that is the same song but live, acoustic etc...)
Proceed to manually delete each song from the list and leave alone any song that you wish to keep.
Best of luck,

How to save users added to list using people picker to sharepoint Group
Hi
I have created List with some people picker columns and now when I save a list,the data is saved to list as well as the users in particular column will be added to particular sharepoint
group. Is there any sharepoint out of box solution for this or I need to do it programmatically. Kindly provide me any procedures or solutions as you know.
1) how to bind the particular sharepoint group to the particular column
2) How to add users to the particular sharepoint group
Thanks
Razvi444Hi Razvi444,
There is no out of the box way to achieve this.You need to write a custom event receiver ,inside event receiver
event, you
can check column (people picker value) and add it to desired group if that user not exist already.
Thanks -
Hi everyone (and sorry for my english language....).
I've this problem:
I've a Frame with a JtextField and a button. When I click on this button, I want to show a list of data from a database and then I must choose a value that must go to the JtextField.
Have you an idea how I can implement this? Sorry for this generic question, but I don't know how to do..
Thank you!>
As to your question.
I've a Frame with a JtextField and a button. When I click on this button, I want to show a list of data from a database and then I must choose a value that must go to the JtextField.
Have you an idea how I can implement this? ..Sure, plenty of people. But they will want to know exactly what you are having trouble with. E.G.
- Getting data from a DB.
- Putting data into a JList.
- Adding listeners to that JList so that choices are acted on, rather than simply high-lighted as the selection.
- Using the event provided to the listener, to update the JTextField.
- Adding a JTextField and JList to a JFrame using layout managers.
If your answer is 'all of that', then I suspect they would be tempted to:
a) Advise you to put this project aside until you have considerably more experience.
b) Refer you to the [Java Tutorial|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/]. -

What is the behaviour of BDB if its killed & restarted when a bdb transaction is in progress?
anybody has an idea as to why BDB dumps core in above scenario?
Regards
SandhyaHi Bogdan,
As suggested by you i am using the below flags to open an enviornment.
DB_RECOVER |DB_CREATE | DB_INIT_LOG | DB_INIT_MPOOL | DB_INIT_TXN|DB_THREAD
DB_INIT_LOCK is not used because at our application level we are maintaining a lock to guard against multiple simultaneous access.
The foll msg is output on the console & the dumps core with same stack trace as posted before.

How do I sort a list of dates?
The control for adding a table is located in the under the + icon in the upper right. Once you have the table created and your data added to it, tap the bar just above the table column you want to sort on. You should get a menu that includes Sort. You can sort ascending or descending.

but when I print the same report on doc format truncate data on left and right side.
Can you help me

Reports does not support .doc format. Are you referring .rtf format?
In any case, you must contact Oracle Support to get the issue resolved.

SharePoint 2013 List - Multiple Data Types in the Same List
In the same SharePoint 2013 list in Data Sheet View, I want to have one column where my end users enter inputs for KPIs. There are 3 groups of KPIs (A, B and C) and they each have different data types (A-string, B-decimal, C-percentage) and I want to be
able to base their input options off of the KPI type
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can leverage my parent-child relationships so when an end user...
1. Picks KPI type A, they can select from a choice filed (Green, Yellow, Red)
2. Picks KPI Type B, they can enter a decimal (-1.000 to 2.000)
3. Picks KPI Type C, they can enter a percentage (-100.00% to 100.00%
I'm using if I want to keep this in one list, one column and in data sheet view that the out of the box solutions won't meet my requirements. I was looking at some solutions from Bamboo (Lookup Selector Column) but don't think that applies here.
Thanks!
JohnnyHi Johnny, you can accomplish this using cascading lookups in InfoPath if that program is available to you. Otherwise, if you want a 3rd party product, we use the Kwiz cascading lookup and it's worked wonders for us:

Note: I have no relationship with Kwiz, just vouching for the product.

How to filter the list of data
I am using af:inputComboboxListOfValues to display drop down list of data. The list is binded to a LOV.
I have a requirement that if the value is used in other place, I should not get it listed on the drop down list. I research doc that it let me use "launchPopupListener" to filter the list of data. As a test code, I coded like this:
public void launchListener(LaunchPopupEvent launchPopupEvent) {
// Add event code here...
DCBindingContainer bindings =
(DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
DCIteratorBinding dcItteratorBindings =
bindings.findIteratorBinding("PersonVO1Iterator");
dcItteratorBindings.getViewObject().setWhereClause("PersonEO.FIRST_NAME <> 'John'");
dcItteratorBindings.getViewObject().executeQuery();
But it does not work. It seems that 'John' is removed from VO but doesn't removed from UI combo box drop down list.
What can I do to fix it?
JDev Version 11.1.1.6.0
Thanks.

Welcome to the ADF Forum. Have you looked into whether the PartialTriggers for the ui combo box have been set.

How to declare a list of dates
Hi,
I have an item which type is "Display as text based on LOV". I put in the source section under the type "Pl/SQL function body" the following pl/sql function :
DECLARE
X VARCHAR2 (4000);
Y DATE ;
BEGIN
X := 'SELECT distinct(TO_CHAR(DATE1, ''YYYY'')) d, (TO_CHAR(DATE1, ''YYYY'')) r FROM SIVOA.EVV_'|| :p4_site ||' WHERE CLEF_VAR = (SELECT CLEF_VAR FROM SIVOA.SITE_DEBIT_RIVIERE WHERE SITE ='''|| :p4_site ||''')
order by d';
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE X INTO Y;
RETURN Y ;
END;The problem is that I get an ORA error.
ORA-00932: types de données incohérents ; attendu : - ; obtenu : -
I know that I have declared Y as a date and that what is returned by my function is a list of dates. I don't know how to declare a list of dates or whatever to be returned as a lis of values. Hope I am clear, sorry for my english.
Thank you for your kind help.
ChristianHi Tony
You hare very patient with me thank you !!!
Let me clarify well.
I am trying to create a list of values based on dates contained in a table. This list of values should contains the "years". If the table contains data for the years 2005, 2006, 2007, then the list of value should return :
2006
2007
2008
As I want a list of value I need to have a display and a return value. The name of the table is 'dynamic' It is the item P4_SITE that contains a part of the name of the table. This is why I am usins PL/SQL, because I don't know the name of the table in advance.
I have not seen any way to put a pl/sql statement in the List of values definition of the item. Thi s is why I try to make a LOV with the SOURCE of the item.
Hope I am clear. -

Getting a list of dates between 2 dates
Hi All,
Is there a way I can generate a list of date using a simple SELECT statement to generate all dates between to date points? For example between SYSDATE AND SYSDATE-7?
One way I know is have a table and run PL/SQL script to put all dates in it and query that but was wondering if it can be achieve via SQL SELECT query at all without creating a table (querying DUAL).
Cheers.

Select list and date picker on one line - is this a bug?
I'm using: Application Express 3.2.0.00.27
Is the following a bug? If so, how do I get it reported so it will be fixed in a future release of APEX? If not, how do I do it so it ends up the way I want?
1. create blank page
2. create html region
3. create "select list" item (Begin On New Line - Yes, ...Field - Yes, ColSpan - 1, Row Span - 1)
4. create date picker item (Begin On New Line - No, ...Field - No, ColSpan - 1, Row Span - 1)
There will be other items displayed in more columns above what I just had you create above. I want the select list and the date picker to display next to each other on same line, so I placed date picker item on same line in same field as select list item.
HOWEVER... the date picker ends up displayed under the select list item (kind of), instead of next to it on the same line.
Here's what I get:
...................... [Select List Field] Date Picker Label
Select List Label
...................... [Date Picker Field]
Here's what I want:
Select List Label [Select List Field] Date Picker Label [Date Picker Field]
Thanks,
Steve
