Adding values from two different queries in one query

Hi,
  I have developed a web template by combining 3 queries ,which were created from the same MultiProvider.These queries are having many different selections .Now I need to get the addition of values from these 2 queries into third query.
Is there any way to combine the selections from these queries into one instead of recreating them again.I tried to use global strucuture but not successful.
Kindly let me know is there any workaround for this.

You can do it by excel formula.
sheet 1 --> 1st query
sheet2 -->2nd query
sheet3--> put calculations accroding to your requirement based on sheet1 & sheet2 into sheet3.

    Data A:D is all cells start at column A thru column D.
    There is built-in help using the menu item "View > Show Function Browser"  in the search field (top right) you can enter vlookup and you will see the detailed description.
    From this we see:
    VLOOKUP
    (search-for, columns-range, return-column, close-match)
    search-for:  The value to find. search-value can contain any value type.
    columns-range:  A range of cells. range is a reference to a single range of cells, which may contain values of any type.
    return-column:  A number that specifies the relative column number of the cell from which to return the value. return-column is a number value. The leftmost column in the range is column 1.
    close-match:  An optional value that determines whether an exact match is required.
    close match (TRUE, 1, or omitted):  If there’s no exact match, select the column with the largest top-row value that is less than the search value. Wildcards can’t be used in search-for.
    exact match (FALSE or 0):  If there’s no exact match, return an error. Wildcards can be used in search-for.
    So... the 2,0 means return the value form the same row as the lookup value but from the 2nd column of the range.  3, 0 means from the 3rd column.  the ", 0" means exact match

  • Cross checking values from two different arrays

    I need some help with figuring out how to do this and hopefully someone here can help:
    I've got movieclips of dice called "dicePicked1", "dicePicked2", etc all the way to 6. each of these movieclips has a graphics on keyframes with labels "One" to "Six".
    Now I'm trying to find (in vain) a way to cross check the labels with arrays of numbers so that each time it finds a dicePicked with the appropriate label, it moves onto the next number to find. For example, I need to see if one of each dice has [1,2,3,4,5,6]. Once the program finds a dicePicked with the Label "One", it moves onto the next element which is 2 and so on.
    If it finds the last element (and thus all the elements), it returns true. If it doesn't find an element (for example none of the dicePicked have a Label "Three") then it returns false. I'm trying to find a system that can accommodate different combinations and some with the same numbers multiple times (for example 3 different dicePicked have the label "three")
    I'm having alot of trouble figuring out a good system for this and any help would be awesome!

    Unfortunately, your example lost me on the first roll... I don't see the combination in choosing the 1 and the 5 for 150 points.  That would have me think that the roll with the 4 could be kept for 40 points.  Also, I didn't see where getting a 5 or a 1 for the last roll would have yielded something.
    Anyhow, if you look at what I did for the Yahtzee game, each possible combination has a function dedicated to testing for it.  The difference with Yahtzee being that you have to choose which scoring element you use up for each turn, whether you earn that scoring element or forfeit it.  Also keep in mind that I created that tangle of code when I was a youngin' in the programming realm, so there may be cleaner ways of dealing with things.
    Since you appear to be automating the scoring process, you likely need to have something first detect that the "hold these" action has taken place and then do some evaluation on those held thru a top-down series of checks (meaning highest scoring combinations to lowest), and accept the first that fills the bill.  I don't understand the logic as to why a 1 and a 5 score anything, but in any case, your code would need to have a test for that scenario.  And if having the last die be a 1 or a 5 also scores, then you would need to retain something relative to that relkating to the 1 and 5 being selected earlier.

  • How to combine  two user prompts into 1 single prompt from two Webi Queries

    I developed a single webi report from two different queries on top of 2 BW OLAP universe .
    Here I have one user input prompt for each query so I want to combine them into one single user input promt which  should pass the user input value to both the Webi queries feeding data to the  single webi report.
    I found that the webi doc has auto checked merge dimensions enabled but it is not providing combined resluts from both the queries .
    Any inputs are greatlt appreciated.

    Firstly ,I appreciate your responses for my two questions.
    Both the prompts I am using are from the masterdata and they are similar.data types.I think the transactional data is not available in BW for one of the prompt ,hence I am not getting consistent data.
    Anyway will do further investigation in finding similarities and let you know.

    Generally when creating a Word file from either a Mac or Win7 pc and opening it on two different machines (either one first) it always prompts that the file is open and will be opened as read only.
    However opening a CSS file does not prompt that it is already open on or from any machine which is causing code edits to be lost.
    What we found from out testing:
    - The file can be saved from one user to the server and WILL NOT PROMPT on other machines until the saving machine has the Dreamweaver program closed completely
    - The file can be closed and  Dreamweaver minimised to the launch bar but it still will not register on other machines that it has been changed.
    - Also, until the  Dreamweaver program is closed on the machines, it will continue to open it's saved version of the file. 
    Example Scenario:
    - User 1 opens test.css (which is 2000 lines) and adds some code to the end of the file to bring it up to 2500 lines
    - Meanwhile User 2 opens test.css as well (opens as 2000 lines as User 1’s edits have not yet been saved) and adds in code to bring it to 2300 lines
    - User 1 saves his file and closes it - but  Dreamweaver is still open.
    - User 2 also saves his file and leaves  Dreamweaver  open.
    - The server will report the size and last edit of the file the same as User 2 as he was the last person to save it (and if you open from the Win7 Machine it will show as User 2’s 2300 line version)
    - If User 1 then open's the file again (from either the 'recent' in Dreamweaver OR clicking on the file directly in Finder...which version opens.... The version that User 1 saved! Not the true version on the server, but the version that User 1 edited and saved with 2500 lines in it.
    - Same for User 2, he will open 'his' version with 2300 lines in.
    Other information:
    - Files are opened directly from the server
    - Sometimes the users will save incrementally and re-open
    - Most of the time users will save incrementally and keep the files open
    - The users will never not save incrementally and just save when closing the file once finished
    - The users are usually working on the files all day
    - It is always the bottom lines of code that are lost. It could be a case of the two versions being mixed up and cutting off the newly added lines based on the line count (possibly).
    It is as if Dreamweaver is holding a cache of the version locally and then only properly looking back to the server when it has been completely closed. It is very difficult to see how the server is causing such an impact on these files, there are very few logs which are giving any indication to the root cause of the problems.
    Anyone know if this is a known issue?
    Is there a way that there can be a featured implemented on the server that doesn't allow another user to open a file if it is already open on another machine?

    Your server file handling has nothing, and really nothing to do with Adobe software. If files don't get locked for (over-)writing and/or lose connection to the program opening them, then your server is misconfigured. It's as plain and simple and that. Anything from "known file types"/ file associations not being set correctly, MIME types being botched, crooked user privileges and file permissions, missing Mac server extensions, delayed file writing on the server, generic network timeout issues and what have you. Either way, you have written a longwinded post with no real value since you haven't bothered to provide any proper technical info, most notably about the alleged server. Either way, the only way you can "fix" it is by straightening out your server and network configuration, not some magic switch in Adobe's software.

    Use NVL or COALESCE:
    NVL (col_a, col_b)
    Returns col_a if col_a is not NULL; otherwise, it returns col_b.
    Col_a and col_b must have similar (if not identical) datatypes; for example, if col_a is a DATE, then col_b can be another DATE or it can be a TIMESTAMP, but it can't be a VARCHAR2.

    Are you currently in Japan or Hong Kong ? You have to be in a country (and have a billing address in that country on your account) to buy or download from its store, that is included in the store's terms.
    You can sync content from different accounts from your computer's iTunes library.

    Ca_ver_num can have any values, not just 2.00 and 3.00.
    This will show cases where a value in one of the columns changed to NULL, or where NULL changed to a value.
    There ought to be a way to do this without a separate sub-query like got_r_num. According to the SQL Language manual, you can put expressions in the UPIVOT ... IN list, but when I tried

    Currently, my APEX Production Application is connected with XXXX Schema of DB1 Database(Where APEX Resides). Now I want to add some pages into this APEX Application for REPORT Purpose, But I want to connect this REPORT APEX Pages to get data from Different Schema YYYY for Database DB2.
    Is it possible to configure this scenario?
    The reason for doing this is to avoid the REPORT related (adhoc queries) resource utilization effect on Production DB1 Database.

    1. If you do the joining of two or more tables in DB1 then all data is pulled over to DB1 and then the join is executed: so more data over the databaselink and more work for DB1. Better keep the joining stuff where the data resides and just pull exactly that data over that you need.
    2. Don't know about your different block sizes. Seems a nice question for one of the other forums (DBA or SQL).
    3. I mean create synonyms on DB1 for reports VIEWS in DB2.

  • How to create Analysis from two different subject areas with diff models

    Hello,
    I have problem with create analysis from two different areas with two different models (Model Star and Snowflakes) build in BI Admin tools.
    First Model A = Subject Area A have one fact tables (with measures) and three dimensions tables (Model Star)
    Second Model B = Subject Area B have one fact table (no measures) and five dimensions tables (Model Snowflakes).
    I'm looking solutions how I can give good results. In this case I can't use UNION, INTERSECT etc., because this models haven't the same number column and data type?
    whether it is possible to do in OBIEE?
    Please help me

    One thing to understand is that if your are imagining having two Subject Areas (SAs) displayed and then dragging columns from each into your Request without any preparation, then no, that can't be done. You would need to do a join in the BMM layer and expose the column from the second Subject Area in the presentation layer.
    But if you indeed interested in UNION (or intersect) queries, then do this:
    Build your first query in the first SA in the usual manner. Note the number of columns and the data types of each column.
    Now at the bottom of the Criteria workspace, there is a button called "Combine with similar request." Click it.
    Select your second SA. You will note that the outlines of the columns in your first query appear. This is to remind you that the number of columns in this second query must be the same as in the first. It also shows the data type of each column for the same reason.
    Once you select your columns and your filters, click on result. (Oh, you will also need to decide what kind of combination you want -- click on the dropdown.) The result will be a new Request that has data from both SAs in the query and combined in the manner you select (union, intersect, etc.)
    That should give you a start.

  • Report that uses two different queries

    I need to make a Report that uses two different queries. It would do one query, then the second, putting the results one after the other on the page.
    Using the wizard, I put in the first query, and it will generate output from this first query.
    I am able to put the second query in the Report, but when I try to use something from the second query, it gives a message about accessing a field below its frequency.
    In the Reports forum, there is a reference to

    What you're trying to accomplish is possible. Now that you've got the second query, add a new repeating frame in the layout editor below the first area. Open the property palette for the new repeating frame and set the source to the second query. Then add fields from the second query.
    Also, remove the fields you have for the second query from the first frame that was created by the wizard; that's what's causing the error about accessing a field below its frequency.

  • Selecting data from two different tables.

    Do we need to use join two tables with primary/foreign key while trying to use select statement for getting data from those to table.? If no who can i go about do it.

    It is not strictly necessary that there be any join condition between tables. If you don't provide a join condition, Oracle has to do a Cartesian product. That means that if there are n rows in one table and m rows in the other, the result set will have n * m rows. It is very rarely a good idea to write queries that do Cartesian products but it does occasionally happen.
