BPC 7.0 NW doesnt support GET, so you cannot have the script as

Instead you can modify the script to
*WHEN ACCOUNT

*REC(FACTOR = 3, ACCOUNT="ACCOUNT4")
*ENDWHEN
If you want to go with MDX, then you can use as suggested earlier
[ACCOUNT].[#account4]=([ACCOUNT].[account1]+[ACCOUNT].[account2]+[ACCOUNT].[account3])*3

GPO with a startup script is not working.

I have a GPO that I have added a ".bat" script to the "Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\scripts\startup/shutdown" section. The batch file is located in the netlogon folder. This script was part of another Old GPO
that I want to consolidate into this new GPO. So I am taking the exact settings from the old GPO and applying it to the new GPO.
The script does not run at startup and when I go into Group Policy Management, highlight the GPO then on the right pane click the settings tab it doesn't display the startup script as being set. It's just not there. If I select edit and go to the
"Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\scripts\startup/shutdown\startup" section the .bat script is present though.
Also if I do a gpresult it also shows that it isn't running the script but all other settings in the GPO are being applied.
This GPO has the User Config. side disabled
Why isn't the GPO applying the script or even acknowledging that it is present in the settings tab?

OBIEE 11g write back to Essbase and run calc script feature

Hi,
I have a requirement to write back into Essbase Cube and run calc script from OBIEE dashboard.
From what i have search on google, we must deploy additional Java Script into weblogic, but that is before OBIEE 11.1.1.6.
I have 2 question:
- Does OBIEE 11.1.1.6 already supported native write-back to Essbase and running calcscript?
- Anyone has example of the custom java-script for write back and running calcscript?
And another, if there are requirement like this, is it better to install Essbase Add-in on Microsoft Excel and do the what-if analysis there, then just display the report on OBIEE dashboard? (based on user-friendliness and the complexity on maintenance)

Even I am trying to achieve the same thing as you have mentioned but think that it is not possible to achieve easily in obiee 11.1.1.6, though we do have a work around to perform a writeback in Essbase cube using JAPI as mentioned below.
Also we can call Hyperion reports from OBIEE using Action Links and also pass parameters to the same but dont know if it runs calculation script.

You'll need to have 1.0.2.2 to be installed on the middle tier before performing the upgrade for your portal 3.0.9 upgrade repository on the database end. So that means, you'll need to wait for the Linux download of iAS 1.0.2.2 to be available before beginning your upgrade of the portal repository, assuming that your middle tier of iAS is also on a Linux box.
iAS 1.0.2.2 does indeed include Portal 3.0.9, of which Portal 3.0.9 components will be installed during the upgrade process along with the upgrade of the middle tier. During the upgrade process, the installer (from my personal experience on NT), will notify you that it is performing an upgrade installation of your middle tier, provided that you specified the middle tier's ORACLE_HOME when executing the oracle installer.
Just be sure to read and follow the 9iAS Migration guide before beginning your upgrade of the middle tier to iAS 1.0.2.2. After upgrading the middle tier to 1.0.2.2, the actual upgrade of the portal repository was extremely simple by comparison.
The upgrade of the portal repository took a few hours (my recommendation is to invoke it off before leaving for the evening), and it will leave a detailed logfile for you to peruse afterwards, if you choose).

Backingup Database using SQL script

Hello,
Let me start by saying I am new to Oracle, and I am trying to learn how to do a project where I must write an SQL script that can be used to back-up all the database files (i.e. control, redo log, and data files). Assuming that all of the files are stored in one folder, the source and destination locations of these files must be provided as "substitution variables". The script must implement the following tasks (directions)
Connect as user SYS with SYSDBA role
Shutdown the database
Copy the database files from the source location and store in the destination location
Restart the database
Connect as user SCOTT
In addition the script must use the "HOST" command to issue the operating system command to perform the copy task.
*Since this is just a learning project, and not a real scenario, I cannot run my script in SQLplus to verify if it is correct. This is why I am asking for some professional advice. I am currently working with Oracle 11g Enterprise running on a client Windows XP OS.
Below is what I have determined is a cold backup, please let me know if what I am doing is correct so far, and if not can you please steer me in the right direction.
connect SYS/<password> as SYSDBA
shutdown;
HOST copy from &source_file to &destination_file; --this is the line that is confusing me.

Thank you Brian and Frank. I agree with you that RMAN is the best way to perform a backup (from what I have read over the last week or so) in a production scenario., especially if the DB needs 24/7 access. Also , thank you Brian for the helpful links.
I currently have the free Oracle Enterprise 11g edition downloaded to my computer, running on VB with client Windows XP OS. But being new at this I find myself scared of running bad script that may break down my DB. I know I can just reload it and start over, but I am trying to approach this as carefully as possible. Although, the error codes help me understand what I am doing wrong a lot of the time.
Also, thank you Frank for the shutdown immediate advice. I also like the idea of writing/saving data to the spool for future reference that will definitely come in hand down the road. I didn't think about writing a .bat file to run via SQL*Plus, that would also be a great alternative.
Continuing with the hypothetical scenario that I need to perform a very basic cold backup that requires a shutdown (with archive logging off) and a restart, do you think this script would run error free. Also, assuming the substitute variables are actual paths to where the whole of the database files are stored and their new destination file actually exists.

I can't get launchctl to run a simple script

I've written the following bash script (saved to /usr/local/bin/adwidget.fiveminutes.sh):

You have this as a LaunchAgent? is that intentional?
LaunchAgents only run when a user is logged in. So if no user is logged in the script won't fire. Additionally, the script will be launched under the current logged-in user's ID, so you should check that the user has permission to execute the script.
Moving the .plist to /Library/LaunchDaemons will allow it to run continuously, without a user logged in.

If you're using Fluid Grid Layouts, none of these methods will work. I think the very best you can do is determine the min-height required for desktops & tablets. Mobile devices don't need min-height because those divisions will stack on top of each other.

Run several scripts with one master script or an automator workflow?

I have several scripts that I need to run all at once...
Could I make a script that would run all the other scripts, then bundle everything into an application( or something similar) so all my scripts would run with just a double click...

Yes, this is possible. Save your master script as either an application or a script bundle (whichever is most convenient). Then, save all of your subscripts inside the bundle.
You can then load and run the scripts from your master script. The following code does that:
set aScriptFile to load script file (path to me as string) & "Any additional subfolders" & "Script File Name.scpt"
run aScriptFile
Note that "path to me" will not work properly when the script is run from within script editor. It will, however, work when run from the script menu. See the following for a discussion of that:

Script wont work after building/burning dvd

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with a HUGE dvd-project I'm working on at the moment. It's a compilation dvd with 50 different short videos and approximately 55 menus. a large part of the 50 videos is connected through the menus with 201 unique buttons.
First I made different stories to be sure the viewer gets directed to the menu he/she came from when a video ends. But because the project became too big (99 tracks and or stories is the maximum) I got into scripting.
I thought I actually managed to write the right scripts, but now it seems that a stand alone dvd-player doesn't recognize the scripts. Every time a video ends or I use the menu button on the remote control the (first) main menu appears.
*So my question for all the friendly folks out there on the other end of the glass fiber-cable is: What can I do to make it work? Is this a problem someone recognizes? Is it my scripting? Is there a way to work around scripting?*
If you need more info please let me know. I wanted to keep it as short as possible at first, but I can elaborate some more if needed.

As already said, the pre-scripting is usually the culprit... and as StudioX said, I \did leave much of the detail out in that article, which was intended to build on from other sources, such as the manual!
If you remove the setting which puts the scripts as prescripts, and be explicit with the menu jumps (i.e. write them out in full each time and don't rely on 'current item' and dividing by '32'), then the scripting should work.
Additionally, the script lines you quote in your prescript may not work, depending on where you are in the disc when they are run. The very first script you create will have a value of 63489, which when you divide by 32 gives just over 1984, so will be rounded to either 1984 or 1985. Since this does not equate to any menu item then the jump cannot work, since GPRM3 will never be equal to '1'. As a result the disc reverts to the main menu.
To make this more reliable you need to work out the value of the last item, which if it is track or story 1 will be 49280. Story 2 in track 1 will be 49408, story 3 49536. This continues even if you then go to a new track. Knowing this the maths then to get to a menu is easier.
If you 'get last item' and know that you are coming from a track or story then you can subtract 49280 and divide by 128. If you are on track or story 1 then the result is zero. Otherwise it is going to be 1, 2, 3, etc. If you know which clips you access from each menu then you can add a series of 'if' statements, for example:
Jump menu1 If (GPRM3 <= 20)
Which would mean anything up to your first 20 clips would send you back to menu1.
You can then add in the button jump before this statement and you should be getting closer to what you need.

Youtube-dl called from python script fails...why ? [solved]

since downloading youtube stuff with Browser plugins has been pretty unstable for me lately (read: mostly incomplete videos) I switched over to youtube-dl again. Unfortunately youtube-dl often stops downloading as well...
I wrote a small Python script which looks for incomplete downloads in my Youtube folder and restarts the download again. The code is quite simple:

I think the problem is that you are using os.popen.
The function returns a file object to which the pipe of the new spawned process is connected. If you don't catch that file object, python might garbage collect it. (In addition, your script terminates, so the file object will be garbage collected).
Check out the subprocess module from the standard lib. I think there you can redirect the pipe of the new spawned processs to /dev/null or something.

Searching for existing scripts..

I have a question.when I open some application's folder (for example garageband)
there is no existing scripts,does that means that some scriptable applications don't have any existing scripts that I can edit?
I saw many sample scripts in some folder somewhere in scripteditor ,but they were few..aren't there many existing scripts of scriptable applications?

The Scripts Menu (when enabled) will place an item in the menu bar that can be used to execute various scripts, but it needs to be set up for the scripts that you want to use. Not all applications will have utility or example scripts, although there are some examples included with the system (for example, in /Library/Scripts/). An application's scripting dictionary, if there is one (open the dictionary from the Script Editor), documents the various script definitions for it, and searching these forums or via Google can provide additional example scripts. There are also several scripting websites, such as http://macscripter.net/ .

I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish but I would discourage directly modifying the XML source.
Typically a fill colour change is performed in response to an event such as a failed validation. In this case you would put your script in the validation event for the applicable object.
Additionally, your script is not going to work because you are checking equality "==" rather than doing an assignment "=".
this.border.fill.color.value = "225,0,0,";
will change the fill colour to red.

Problem running HRINSSYS.DMS script

I'm trying to install Peoplesoft HRMS and the demo database for learning purposes.
My setup is:
     Microsoft Windows Server 2003
     Oracle database 10g Rel. 2
     Peopletools 8.49
I have finished creating the database. The next step according to the PT install guide is to run additional DMS scripts. The HRMS Supp. guide says to run the HRINSSYS.DMS script with Data Mover. When I open and run this script in Data Mover, I receive the error:

I have so far installed Oracle, Application Server, Tuxedo, PeopleTools and created the database.
The next step in the PeopleTools install guide is "Updating Database to Latest PeopleTools Release". I didn't perform this step because I thought I had just installed the latest db release (8.49) in the previous step.
I'm installing HRMS 9.0. Do I need to perform this "update" step?
