Additional CheckBoxes on JSP Page

Dear All,
I have created 10 Additional CheckBoxes on a JSP Page in Apps through pesonalization by Create Item option and chosen (MessageStylesCheckBox).
The Value of this CheckBox is 1 if it is checked and 0 if it is unchecked. Now I want to track these two values. Are these checkboxes have any
impact on the underlying table or where this information goes? Do I have to put anything inside View Attribute and View Instance?
Please help if anybody knows this.
Regards

Try to check the settings for the section and the column, maybe you have one chance there to hide it. As you can now "freeze" one column and scroll another one that scroll bar is the one of the column (I guess), if you click to display all result the scroll will happen on the "inner" scroll, not the one of page (the one on the right), as far as I remember.
Now sure it's a problem, it's more the normal way to support advanced behavior in a dashboard with multiple columns / sections.

  • Update checkbox values in jsp page back to OBPM Process

    Dear experts,
    I am having a small problem with JSP and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on it.
    My situation is as follows, currently I have
    <f:invoke var="${orderDetails}" methodName="getIndicatorsY" retAttName="indicator1"/>
    <c:forEach var="indicators1" begin="0" items="${indicator1}" varStatus="status">
    <tr>
    <td width="27">
    <input type="checkbox" name="C1" value="I am a checkbox" checked></td>
    <<td><font size="2"><c:out value="${indicators1}"/></font></td>
    </tr>
    </c:forEach>
    What this code does is, if uses the fuego talib and invokes a method in bpm which has a database call and returns an array of string.
    Thus on the jsp page, when it is loaded, you will see a table which has 2 columns. 1st column is a checkbox, 2nd column is the information in the string array.
    My dilemma is like so, when a user unchecks the box, I need to be able to update bpm and subsequently the database to reflect the change from checked to unchecked.
    A question, is it possible to return a bpm object from that invoke rather than just a simple string array?
    I have yet to find a way to do it. Could be my lack of experience in JSP :( Any help or sample code is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • How to load the same jsp page and set user id to 0 when checkbox is selecte

    I hope this question isn't too amateurish to answer, but it is something that has been troubling me.
    I have a jsp page page that display information about a user and has the userID passed in the link. So something like user.jsp?userID=12 for example.
    On the same page I have a form with a checkbox, and a submit button, the html code is as follows:
    <form name="form1" method="get" action="user.jsp">
    <p><input name="userID" id="userID" type="checkbox" value="0"></p>
    <p><input name="Submit" type="submit" value="Submit"></p>
    </form> What I want to do is, if a user ticks the checkbox and presses Submit, I want to load the same page again, but
    set the userID to zero and so the top url has the following: user.jsp?userID=0
    How can I achieve this.
    Thanks for all the help
    Zub

    actually I need a check code which on submit checks if the checkbox is ticked then set the value of UserID to zero. so when I press submit and before the page loads to simply does a check if its ticked? I can write the if statment but I do not know what how to check if the checkbox is ticked and were to include the code

    Basically your form beans are the place holders or containers for your jsp attributes. It has to be mapped in such a way that when the form is submitted the user entered values get populated on to your form bean.
    For Eg:
    JSP
    <html:form action="accountSearchResults.do">
    <html:text property="myName" size="15"/>
    //USE ONLY STRUTS TAGS IN JSP's. U CAN REFER TO
    //http://struts.apache.org/1.x/struts-taglib/tlddoc/index.html
    //THE PROPERTY NAME "myName" SHOULD BE DEFINED IN
    //YOUR FORMBEAN WITH getMyName AND setMyName
    //METHODS DEFINED
    </html:form>
    struts-config.xml
    <form-beans>
         <form-bean name="addEditAccount" type="org.apache.struts.validator.LazyValidatorForm">
              <form-property name="myName" type="java.lang.String">
              </form-property>
         </form-bean>
    </form-beans>
    <action-mappings>
         <action path="/accountSearchResults" type="com.zzz.AccountSearchResultAction" name="addEditAccount" scope="request">
              <forward name="success" path="NextPage.jsp">
              </forward>
         </action>
    </action-mappings>
    Action Class
    Since we have defined the form bean as a lazyvalidator instance you can use:
    PropertyUtils.copyProperties(targetBean, form);to fetch the values entered by the user. Try to use struts tags in your jsp's and map the properties to your form bean variables. Hope that helps.

  • How to get Tree structure in JSP page?

    Hi,
    I would like get data from the database and display the data in tree structure with the check boxes at each nodes on a jsp page with out using any third party tools. how can i do that? Do i require any new tags to fulfill this requirement?
    can any one help me out by sending any example code?
    thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Reddy

    Once you have the data in a list or something, can't you just use <c:forEach> and then output standard nested <ul> and <li> tags to give the tree structure.
    <html>
         <style>
              li
                   list-style-type:none;
         </style>

  • How to submit a form with checkboxes in a page flow?

    I'm having some trouble with a form that contains several checkboxes, and
    how to submit this form within a page flow...
    I have a JSP page containing a form with N checkboxes. The value and
    checked/unchecked status of each checkbox is generated from parsing an XML
    document. Here is the (simplified) code:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/xml" prefix="x" %>
    <netui:form action="doUpdate">
    <x:forEach select="...">
    <input type="checkbox" name="id"
    <x:if ...>checked</x:if> value="<x:out ... />">
    </x:forEach>
    <netui:anchor formSubmit="true" action="doUpdate">Submit</netui:anchor>
    <netui:anchor action="doCancel">Cancel</netui:anchor>
    </netui:form>
    When this form is submitted, the checkbox values are lost -- the following
    code (in the action) produces an empty array:
    String[] prefs = this.getRequest().getParameterValues("id");
    I looked at the <netui:checkbox> tag, but it does not appear to give me a
    way to set the state and value (unless I've missed something).
    Can I submit a form without using a form bean? If I do use a form bean, can
    I set the state and value from my JSP?
    Any suggestions on how to do this (or insights into what I'm doing wrong)
    are welcome...

    I am new to this, but I think this may solve your problem:
    I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but you can create a LinkedHashMap
    with the req key/value pairs in the page-calling action in the pageflow and then
    pass that via a getRequest().setAttribute("myCheckboxes",myCheckboxHashMap);
    You can then access it in code using the optionsDataSource portion of the netui:checkBoxGroup
    - ie
    <netui:checkBoxGroup dataSource="{actionForm.thisCheckbox}" optionsDataSource="{request.myCheckboxes}">
    Hope this helps!

  • How to handle dynamically created checkboxes in JSP???

    Hello everybody,
    In a JSP page I would like to create checkbox dynamically on every
    result line (detail line), then check in some of them and finally pass the checked lines to a JSP bean which will handle them on a submit button press.
    The problem are:
    - how to index every checkbox in jsp result line in jsp page in order to avoid solutions like this:
    <input type=checkbox" name="value1">
    <input type=checkbox" name="value2">
    etc
    - how to read every checkbox to find the checked ones
    Is there anobody who has any experience from case like this?
    Please, help me.
    Best regards,
    Danny

    Hi, first off, no need to determine what has been checked or not. If the checkbox is checked, on the post, the value will be submitted as part of the request. If the checkbox is not checked, it will not be submitted (it's value will be null). Depending on what you need, I have approached this a number of different ways. One way is to name all checkboxes the same name. If you need to distinguish between two rows in the form, then in the value field for the checkbox, use some type of distinguishing factor, for example,
    <input type=checkbox name=chkName value="1:abc">
    <input type=checkbox name=chkName value="1:def">
    Now, you only have to make one call on the Servlet/JSP receiving the form post, request.getParameterValues("chkName") which will return an array of the non-null Strings that were checked.

    when the jsp page is loaded for the first time it contains a select box containg names created by a taglib.but there is a feature i want to add wherein though javascript the name selectebox will keep on coming on each row i want to add. and this is row addition and deletion is being handled by the javascript. there i encounter the bug how to interact the javascript with taglib so tha with each row addition i will have populated taglib created select box on each row.
    Thanks,

  • Retrieving lists from other layer into a JSP page - Design Question

    Hi all,
    What should be a good design technique in order to allow a JSP page to present some list obtained from other layer of my application. I intend to leave only presentation logic in the JSP layer, while all data access will be in other layer.
    For example, I have a JSP page that will show the results of a SQL query originated from an entry form in other JSP page. Let's name them 'search.jsp' and 'result.jsp'
    I want that all JDBC access be done in some other layer.
    Question 1:
    What would be better for this task? A servlet or a bean? (A bean, I suppose?)
    Then this bean (?) would have to find some way to pass all the result set into this 'result.jsp'. I think it would be very poor design if I used some Data Object, because it would have to store all rows and pass them at once.
    I don't want, either, that the presentation (JSP) layer access directly the data access layer (JDBC, files...). This way, I don't want any JSP page accessing the Resultset object directly.
    Question 2:
    What do you think could be a good design technique?
    I thought of some intermediate layer that provided data objects and data access interfaces. I mean, as my data will come from different sources, like some database (JDBC), some Electronic Document Manager, I thought of having a common access interface, that would provide methods for accessing the resultsets. This could be even a java.util.Enumeration that has a hasMoreElements() method that could be implemented as the next() method from JDBC result sets and the nextElement() method that would actually bring the next row of data.
    This way the JSP layer would see only hasMoreElements() and nextElement() methods from the middle layer. On the other hand, the data layer would provide as many different implementations to this access interface (Enumeration?) as there were data sources (JDBC, Files, ...)
    Question 3:
    What do you think of this design?
    Question 4:
    Is there any flaw in my approach? Which?
    Question 5:
    Could you suggest other designs?
    I really thank you all, for any kind of answer. I actually use this design for development, however I've never seriously discussed it with someone... this is going to be of great value for me.

    Filipe Fedalto

    Well I saw you question and I'll tell you what I do.
    I have JSP's which post form data to servlets.
    The servlet then calls a factory to produce a ResultContainer (analagous to your lists) which is generated
    via JDBC, and/or request parameters etc...
    this provides a single point of reference and a "group" of containers (functions really) that can be produced and reused (same container different amount of data)
    I also have other static classes which can manipulate the data in the containers
    (such as add additional info to the items in the containers) before I forward the container (request attribute)
    to the JSP page
    Additionally I use Type safe constants for all my HTML form tag names (easier to change and ensure the same name is used everywhere when reading parameters) and again for item statuses
    and any other info I need to send along with the page (using Javascript to update the
    status to another type safe constant).
    I've found that using factories for ResultContainers is very worthwhile and allows you to implement additional servlets extremely quickly (mostly reusing containers that exist) and since the
    container is the same for all my JSPs (this may not be the case with you) I can implement JSP's
    very quickly as well (just change the view)
    btw I refrain from calling my ResultContainer a bean because it is not serializable
    I don't know if this will help but at least it gives me a forum to test my ideas
    Thanks

  • 2 c:import   in one Jsp Page

    Hi all,
    I wondering can a jsp page have 2 <c:import> statement?
    i having an error which is
    "javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Cannot forward a response that is already committed" when i doing it.
    what i want to do is something like:
    <c:import url="/student/profile.view?do=TabDisplayRequest&resultLinkKey=${StudentActionForm.resultLinkKey}" charEncoding="utf-8"></c:import>
    <body>
    <html-el:form action="/student/exam_result.view">
    </html-el:form>
    </body>
    </html-el:html>
    <c:import url="/student/course_mark.view?do=DetailRequest" charEncoding="utf-8"></c:import>
    The outcome is only the first import and the middle form displayed. the last import statement was skipped.
    and prompt me the following error:
    javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Cannot forward a response that is already committed
    at org.apache.taglibs.standard.tag.common.core.ImportSupport.acquireString(ImportSupport.java:324)
    at org.apache.taglibs.standard.tag.common.core.ImportSupport.doEndTag(ImportSupport.java:179)
    Can some one please give me some consultation on this??
    thanks

    sorry, but just to make a additional note.
    the <c:import > tag library is from JSTL taglib <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core" prefix="c" %>
