ADDRESS output as an argument for AVERAGE help.
I have column A with ~10,000 entries. I would like to know the average of 100 consecutive entries and use a slider control to supply the starting row number of the 100 rows.
I tried to start by using
=ADDRESS(D4,1,4) where the value of D4 is the determined by the slider control and,
=ADDRESS(D4+100,1,4) in an adjacent cell to give the ending value for the AVERAGE function.
I think the output of the ADDRESS function is seen as a string rather than an argument for the average function. Is this true? Does anyone have any slick ideas for creating a sliding averager?

In D3 I stored the number of rows to average
In D4 I stored the first row to average.
In D5 the formula is:
=AVERAGE(OFFSET($A$1,D$4,0,IF(D$3+D$4>ROWS($A),ROWS($A)-$D$4,$D$3)))
If there are D3 rows available starting from row D4 it averages these rows
If there are no such rows, it averages only the existing ones.
I didn't tested the case where D4 is greater than the number of existing rows.

My wife and I each have our own email address and calendar. These are on one IPad. The Ipad has a single ICloud account.
What's the best way to backup both Calendars, etc? Does ICloud automatically back up every account on the same IPad? (I checked ICloud, but I could only find my stuff.)

AlanFirst, you need to understand that there's a difference between "syncing" and "backup". Backup is the saving of content and settings, where syncing is the bidirectional transfer of content for an account to a web-based server (like iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
If you see your calendar in your iCloud account, that implies that you have set up your iCloud account to host (sync) your calendar, and perhaps contacts, email, and notes. An iCloud account can only sync one user's information at a time so it is intended to support a single user. You can have more than one iCloud account, and you can even have more than one iCloud account on the same device (but one has to be primary, and the secondary iCloud has limited capabilities), but a single iCloud account only supports a single user's content.
Backup is the saving of your device's content and settings to use in case you need to recover these things, but you can't see the contents of your backup (just the size and device name). You can backup more than one device to iCloud and you can backup to iCloud or you can backup to your computer, or both (one at a time though, you have to choose).
So, if your wife has her own email and calendar she can certainly do that in parallel to whatever account(s) you have for email and calendar. But if you have only one iCloud account then only one of you can use it for email, calendar, etc. But the backup of these accounts is really just a backup of the device's settings that link the device to these accounts. For example, if she uses Gmail then the backup of the iPad only backs up the fact that your iPad is set up to use her account, it does not backup the account itself (the content of her account is saved and preserved on Google's servers, not your device's backup).

I am not able to mail the photos from iPhoto. Its always saying that the email address it's not recognized. Another situation is that when I try to add my me account in the preferences account, doesn't recognize my @me password. Tks for any help! :-)
1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now? -
I can't get volume on Main Output to work correctly with controllers on my keyboard. It's either all on or all off. Works fine for individual instruments (thought it lumps them all together) but not for main volume output on concert. Thanks for any help.

All this sounds like you are confused about the general nature of MIDI Continuous Controllers (MIDI CC). The MIDI specification allows for 128 different CC's: CC0 to CC127. Some are typically "preallocated" to 'standard functions: CC1= Modulation, CC7=Volume, CC10+Pan, CC11= 'Expression'. Some act as switches such as 'Sustain' CC64.

Mainstage works with MIDI CC's generally in a number of ways:
Some standard ones are automatically passed through to all MIDI/Instrument channels unless you specifically block them. Others are not passed through unless you specifically map them to something.
This mapping can be done basically two ways (with MS 2.2):
a) Make a Screen Control in Layout mode, and assign it to a particular incoming MIDI CC message. Then, you can map this Screeen Control to a variety of parameters such as the volume of a particular channel strip.
b) With MS 2.2, you can do the above Assign and Mapping directly, without the need for Screen Controls as an 'intermediary'.

Yes.
It sounds to me like you have an issue where you have several hardware controls on your Keyboard set up to transmit the same MIDI CC. This is probably not a good idea, and it would be much better if you assigned them to transmit different CC messages (CC1 for Modulation and probably CC11 for the Expression (though you may want to set the pedal to some other number instead.
Once you are transmitting different CC messages, you will be able to Assign and Map much more flexibly:
for example, you could one to control the overall output volume at Concert Level in MS, whilst the other controls the volume of a specific channel within a Patch.
Your issue of layered patches is one of "Scaling": one Screen Control (assigned to an incoming MIDI CC message) needs to alter the ranges of different channel strips to different amounts. You can set this up by using multiple mappings for one Control, each set to work over a particular range (for example a goes from -20 to 0 whilst b goes from -30 to -20 etc.).

I am new to Robohelp. I am using Robohelp 8 and FrameMaker 9 for TC 2 on Windows XP.
Previously I used Webworks Publisher 2003 to convert my project and the output was put into one folder. I'm having difficultly figuring out how to do that with Robohelp 8. Right now it is putting each converted page in a separate subfolder with a *.css file. I don't even need the *.css file for each file because I just use one *.css file for the whole project.
So, for example, if I convert a FrameMaker book called BigBook.book and it has these files:
-ScreenA.fm
-ScreenB.fm
-ScreenC.fm
Then, I want Robohelp to put all of the converted book files in a folder called "Output" with the names:
-ScreenA.htm
-ScreenB.htm
-ScreenC.htm
Why? This help is contextual and I hand it over to the developers for the help. When the end-user clicks the help button, the GUI has a script that looks in one folder for a *.htm file that matches the *.jsp file of the GUI.
Sorry if this has been asked before. I looked around, but I could not find anything.

Can you clarify for us whether you are linking a FrameMaker document to your RoboHelp project and updating the content, or importing your FrameMaker documents? It sounds like the later.
In this case, what you can do is create a folder in your RoboHelp project called "Output". Before you import your FrameMaker documents, select this folder in your Project Manager pod. This ensures that any imported files are placed inside that directory. As you already have files you've imported, you can move them to a directory as you see fit. Just create an "Output" folder and click and drag the files into it in the Project Manager pod.

Generally I believe that the best practice for this is to use two helper address statements. This will send two unicaast packets, one to each server. The other alternative is to send a directed broadcast (which would actually be ip helper-address 192.168.1.255). To do this you would also have to be sure that ip directed-broadcast was enabled on the router interface connecting to the 192.168.1.0 subnet. Many people reguard ip directed-broadcast as a security vulnerability and do not want it enabled. If your environment is comfortable with enabling this function then both alternatives would work. The advantage of the directed broadcast is that it transmits one packet rather than transmitting two packets. If it were me I would use two helper address statements.

Audigy 2 SPDIF output - again, asking for any help.
Some time ago I asked question about my Audigy 2:
[size="">Hi, I am using Audigy 2 soundcard connected to Altec Lansing ADA885 speakers. These speakers have built-in Dolby Digital Decoder, and of course SPDIF input for this. Additionally, they have inputs for analog front and rear speakers signal. They can be switched to different operation modes : Dolby Digital decoding, Dolby ProLogic decoding, stereo, and quad modes. I have connected them to my Audigy 2 using analog connections, and also digital output. The problem is, that they process both kind of inputs (analog and digital) all the time in most modes simultaneously. For example, when I set them to "quad" mode (for gaming) they process analog signal that Audigy deli'vers them, but also they attempt to decode the signal from digital input. This produces some kind of phase distortions (basses dissappear and the sound becomes slightly muffled). Possible solutions could be : - disable digital decoding in speakers when using analog output from Audigy - this can't be done, these speakers' decoder is not configurable, - disconnect digital cable when using analog output from Audigy - obvious solution, however not very comfortable - disable "ON-DEMAND" spdif output on Audigy card and enable it when necessary. This would be most satisfying option for me. But.... is it possible at all ? Just something similar to the "Digital output only" setting in soundcard panel, but in my case i'd like to have an option of "Analog outputs only". Yesterday I moved to Vista Ultimate and newest set of Creative Drivers.
To my surprise, there is an option of SPDIF output volume and mute in system mixer. However, it also doesn't work.
Can anyone confirm, if I can mute digital output whenever I want ?

After 3 connectors, I have my SPDIF of my Audigy 2 ZS connected to my Recei'ver and passing sound. However, it is NOT passing the 5. AC3/DTS stream. Playing a movie through Media Center 2005, if Dolby Digital 5. is selected, I hear the movie, but the Recei'ver does not indicate it is in Dolby Digital (like when I play it through my standalone DVD Player). When selecting DTS in the Audio Options of the DVD Menu, I hear no sound at all.
I have a minijack to RCA Stereo connector with a Digial Coax cable going from the White connector to my Recei'ver Digital Coax Input.
I have set the Device Decoding Options for SPDIF Passthrough.
What am I missing? This is going on a week now to get something going that worked right out of the box with a $40 DVD Player. And the $40 DVD Player sounds better than this $00 sound card....because it passes the AC3 stream flawlessly. -

No I didn't even read through your post, to long.
You said that "No matter what program I try to install, as soon as the installer opens it crashes". Were you talking about the install for this/these 3D programs or ANY program? As it is worded it sounded like ANY program. That tells me there is a problem with your Mac, software or hardware.
Now you say others install programs, which is it. Programs other then the 3D ones install or no programs install?
Could simply be your Mac is to old to run these programs and the installer knows that. You never said what model or year Mac it is. -

If the phone is turned off, doesn't have an internet connection, or has been restored preventing "Find my iPhone" from being able to work, there is no other way to track it.

My Macbook was stolen. I noticed the following morning that it was locked, so I 'clicked' play sound, and erase at next internet connection. I received notice that it played the sound, but not that it has erased. Wondering if Apple and/or iCloud tracks the last IP address that my stolen macbook connected to the internet. I have created an HTML-based Help in RoboHelp. The output file was a *.chm file. The development team is indicating that the *chm file is not what is needed, and that they need an *.htm point/base file to integrate the Help into a web-based application. Is this correct? I thought that was a requirement for Web Help, but not for HTML Help. When integrating an HTML-based Help into a web app, is the individual *chm file the only file that needs to be handed off to development?

The .CHM file format is for locally installed applications. WebHelp and FlashHelp are intended for being placed on a central server and accessed from there. WebHelp and FlashHelp exist as a collection of loose files.
