Address Verification Server vs. Loqate

I noticed Address Verification Server (14.x) version in Oracle Data Quality Download section, I am little confused whether I have installed this , but I am very sure I am using Loqate APIs and using the AV processors. we do have 3 country licenses with Loqate. what is the difference between using Address verification server vs. loqate ? or Am I confused?
Please help
Thanks!

Hi,
Oracle Enterprise Data Quality Address Verification Server is an OEM of Loqate software. It require data files from Loqate to process addresses.

    Hi,
This is the behaviour if AV is either not installed or not linked correctly to EDQ via the av.properties file.
There will be an error loading 'OAV' in the EDQ log (main0.log) at server startup. Check this error against the troubleshooting section of the EDQ AV Installation Guide.

  • Lion Server: iOS 5 clients can't connect to Address Card Server

I have set up shared accounts on the server for Calendar and Address Book (family) sharing. Although I can add and use the Address Book shared account on OS X Lion clients, I can't get this to work on iOS 5 clients (iPhone nor iPad). I keep on getting "CardDAV account verification failed".
Calendar sharing works just fine on both OS X and iOS5 clients
Let me briefly describe my setup and observations:
    Server:
Running Lion Server 10.7.2 on Mac Mini (server)
Using SSL connections with keys generated during set-up of the server
Portforwarding in router (ao) for 8008 and 8843 (iCal and Address Book)
Created  shared accounts on server for Calendar ("sharedcalendar") and Address Book ("sharedcontacts")
In the DNS server I created services in my primary zone for "_caldavs._tcp." and "_carddavs._tcp." both on port 8443
    OS X Client (Calendar)
Created additional CalDAV account in preferences (user "sharedcalendar")
Left the server settings untouched (server path, port "auto" and using SSL but not Kerberos)
Created in "sharedcalendar" different calendars and reminder lists for the family members which each can access from their OS X client
This account is now set-up through Profile Manager (tried this with Address Book as well but didn't make any difference)
    iOS 5 Client (Calendar)
Once tested on standalone and got this working I'm now using the Profile Manager to push the definition of the shared account to all clients
    Hostname with port 8443 (default)
Left Principal URL blank since it was optional
User "shared calendar" with the appropriate password
    Ticked "Use SSL"
    OS X client (Address Book)
Created additional CardDAV account in preferences (user "sharedcontacts").
Left the server settings untouched (port 443 using SSL)
    iOS 5 client (Address Book)
In the settings add a CardDAV account (server, user "sharedcontacts", password, description).
First error message "Cannot connect Using SSL. Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?". When I press continue I get the error "CardDAV account verification failed"
If I then save the account details still and edit the account I can access the "advanced settings". When I change to SSL I have tried port 0 (default value), 8443 (the one that's listed in the documentation) and 8843 (which is used by default if you try to set up the
account in Profile Manager). All to no avail, including Profile Manager
    Observations:
Lion Server app nicely lists both Calendar and Address Book Server as active (plus Profile Manager, File Server, Web server and Wiki server)
When I access my server home page, Calendar is listed in addition to other services (Mail | Calendar | Change Password | Profile Manager) but not Address Book. Is this normal behaviour? i.e. can't Address Book entries be changed through a web interface?
Address Book on OS X client uses 443 for SSL but does not require me to define port 8443 for secure iCal or Address Book server communications
Lion Server Profile Manager specifies port 8843 as port for SSL communication. I only saw 8443 listed in documentation
The response "can't connect .." or "account verification failed" happens very quick which make me think either the verification doesn't even leave the iPad or there is something wrong in the SSL connection
Since iCal set-up works nicely using the same ports I am puzzled why it doesn't work for Address Book
Your solutions or suggestions how to investigate are most welcome,
    Erik

    Thanks for joining the discussion.
Although port 8443 is mosten quoted as correct port for CalDAV and CardDAV, port 8843 can be found both on Apple's website and other places:
see Technical Note 1649 to find port 8443 listed for iCal and port 8843 for Address Book
Mac OS X Lion Server for Dummies (sic) lists port 8843 on pages 236 and 238 but port 8443 in many other places
when you want to push iCal and Address Book information with Profile Manager, Profile Manager lists port 8443 for iCal but port 8843 for Address Book as default:
So I hope you understand I'm somewhat puzzled.
I did get the Address Book working for my Lion desktops with the all the necessary certificates as far as I know, just not for the iOS devices (iPhone and IpPad). iCal sharing from Lion Server works fine on both Lion and iOS devices.

  • Address verification in Oracle Enterprise Data Quality

    Hi,
I am new to OEDQ. I have a need to do the address verification using OEDQ.  Please guide me how to proceed with the process.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regard,
    Ida.

    Hello Ida,
Address Verification in OEDQ is comprised of the Address Verification API, and a Global Knowledge Repository (also known as Postal Address File).
A subscription to a Postal Address File must be purchased directly from a provider, and Oracle's prefered partner for this is Loqate, (http://www.loqate.com/).
See explanation here for details: https://blogs.oracle.com/mdm/entry/enterprise_data_quality_integration_ready
The Address Verification and Standardization service uses EDQ Address Verification (an OEM of Loqate software) to verify and clean addresses in either real-time or batch. The Address Verification processor is wrapped in an EDQ process – this adds significant capabilities over calling the underlying Address Verification API directly, specifically:
Country-specific thresholds to determine when to accept the verification result (and therefore to change the input address) based on the confidence level of the API
Optimization of address verification by pre-standardizing data where required
Formatting of output addresses into the input address fields normally used by applications
Adding descriptions of the address verification and geocoding return codes
The process can then be used to provide real-time and batch address cleansing in any application; such as a simple web page calling address cleaning and geocoding as part of a check on individual data.
The Installation and Configuration of Addess Verification with OEDQ and Loqate is documented here: Installing and Configuring Address Verification
    Best regards,
    Oliver.

  • EDQ Address Verification level mode supported for Siebel CRM

    Hi,
We are in process of implementing Oracle Enterprise Data quality for SIebel CRM Public sector 8.2.2.4 version for our client and are awaiting license. We have few questions on how Address verification process works with Loqate postal files and how the validated address will be updated back in Siebel. I observed in few documentations that the Address verification level can be set to Verify or Match where Verify mode will return only one validated address in response and Match will return multiple close matched address along with the match score as a response.
Can you please let me know if Siebel with EDQ AV supports both Verify and Match mode? Any information around this question or the document which talks more about this feature is highly appreciated. Thanks for the assistance
    Regards
    Siva Sonti

    Hi,
I cannot comment on the UCM roadmap since it is not under my remit.
    Re. your questions:
    1. EDQ returns a fair amount of information back in the response and any of the attributes can be returned to Siebel and displayed by customizing the mappings to the service. This includes a textual description of the verification code and an indication based on the verification level and the configured thresholds that shows whether or not the address was corrected/enhanced (verified = Y/N). See example below.
    2. Yes, if you require a V (Verified) result with a minimum level of 4, you will be correcting addresses if they are verified to premise or subpremise level. If a subpremise was input but could not be verified you would get a P4 (partially verified to premise level) result, or if there were several possible subpremises that it fuzzy matched, you would get an A4 (ambiguously verified to level 4) result, which you could choose to accept or suppress based on the 'allowedverificationresultcodes' threshold.

  • How do I add an Address Book Server account to iPhone 3G iOS 3.1.3

    Heya,
I have an iPhone 3G that is running version 3.1.3 of the iPhone OS and I need to add an Address Book Server account (that is being run on Snow Leopard Server to the phone but the only option I have is LDAP. My understanding is that Address Book Server uses CardDAV not LDAP. So I went ahead and added the account by choosing "Settings" -> "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" -> "Add Account..." ->"Other" -> "Contacts - Add LDAP Account" and entered my servers information. After selecting "Next" it prompts me with the following message:
"Cannot Connect Using SSL - Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?"
I choose "Continue" -> the message disappears and I choose "Save" -> then I'm prompted with this message:
"This account may not be able to search contacts. Are you sure you want to save?"
I choose "Save" and it appears to add it. To verify I exit "Settings" and go to "Address Book" and none of my contacts appear. I even let it sit for an hour on a WiFi connection without any luck. Can someone help?
    Thanks!

  • Address Book Server - access from WAN

I can access my Address Book Server using the server's LAN IP address but not its domain name.
I have set up a global Address Book using the technique suggested in this thread https://discussions.apple.com/message/10571482#10571482 which works well. I have a couple of users set up who can see changes the other user makes to the Global Address Book.
The Global Address Book is accessed at my OS X Server's LAN address, 192.168.1.1 with the details as stated in the above thread.
I should (and want to) be able to access the Global Address Book from outside my LAN using the OS X Server's fully qualified domain name, myserver.mydomain.tld. But it doesn't. The client (10.7) Address Book fails to access. The domain address is correctly mapped to the server and works for other services such as iChat. Router ports are (obviously) open.
So I can set up a client Address book using 192.168.1.1:8800/principals/groups/abglobal/ but not myserver.mydomain.tld:8800/principals/groups/abglobal/ nor over port 8843 & SSL.
    Any clues?
    Thanks!

I believe that for different email service providers, the method to access the address-book would be different. Can anybody leads to any of the service providers??
It likely would be, if it's supported at all. Ask the support department of your service provider.

  • Calendar server and address book server login fails with outlook connector

    Hi,
When i deploy the connector i get the pop ups saying
    "Server:servername:3080
Error:service not available" also Do you get exactly what you say above, or have you substituted in the real server name for "Server:servername:" above?
I would check through the outlook connector deployment configuration to verify that you have inserted valid information into all of the host & port fields - perhaps check the .ini file that is created to see if it has "Server" and "servername" listed.
    "Server:servername:80/uwc"
Error:service not available"You are able to log into UWC via the web-interface and access your calendar/pab and edit/modify/delete calendar & addressbook entries right? The services are all up?
asking to login to calendar server and address book
server.Clicking "OK" allows install. The outlook connector deployment software gives you the option to increase the logging level, try that and see what the logs say - what was it trying to connect to/check which failed.
In outlook i can send and receive mails but not the
meeting requests. It gives the error "login to
calendar server" when i create a meeting request.
Please let me know what i have to do to get rid of
the error. The username and passwd entered is
correct.I suspect this is more of an underlying configuration issue that needs to be sorted out, once that happens you shouldn't have to keep logging in.

  • Allow user to edit their own Address Book server entry

    Hiya.
I'm looking for a way to let users edit their own information in the Address Book Server/Open directory. I've made sure the main group for users is in the AB Read-Write Groups group in WGM.
I've even checked the box in Server Admin that says "Allow users to edit their own contact information", but after adding the account to an address book client and authenticating as a user (For example, myself), I can't edit my own contact info anywhere that will push to the server.
Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks!

You'd need to write a php script or something to interface with applescript…

  • ADDING CONTACTS TO ADDRESS BOOK SERVER!!!!!!!!!

Can someone please help me figure out how to add contacts to the address book server. I tried to drag my contacts but it doesn't work. There is no "+" button for me to add new contacts. I've been trying for a couple days and nothing. Thank you in advance!

Try Googling create group in address book -- or something similar!
In Address Book there is a + sign at the bottom of the window. Select the root folder of the server account in the Address Book client, and click the + to create a group, then type its name if you don't want it to be called 'new group'.
    See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2486

  • Cant add new contacts to Address Book Server

I would like to have a Global Address Book Server where all the user can add/delete contacts. I have done all the setups but in the iMacs (the users) I can see the Address Book Server but NOT the + button to add a new contact. Why ?
In the group name, together to "Address Book Server" there is not any error icon so I understand the client-server connection is well done.
Can someone tell me what should I check ?
    Thank you in advanced

I was look ing at this last night. I think there's an 'add new contacts to' type pop-up somewhere in the client account settings. That might be it.

  • PAB to Address Book server dynamic migration

    I'm using JES3, 2005Q1.
I was able to apply the batch migration from PAB to Address book server as described in the Communications Express 6 2005Q1 Administration Guide. In the same chapter (Chapter 7), the dynamic migration is described. This migration happens only when the user logs in.
In the documentation it is stated that there is an attribute called "mepabmigration". This attribute is essential for dynamic migration. But I couldn't figure out how to get this attribute, as it is not predefined nor there is a description on it anywhere.
Any idea about this? especially the mepabmigration attribute.
    Regards,

    "attribute" implies LDAP.
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2661/6n4uetjt7?q=mepabmigration&a=view
This attribute is added automatically.... Nothing for you to do, here.

  • Syncing contacts between iPhone and Address Book Server

How does one sync contacts from the Address Book Server with the iPhone?
The Apple ad says, "With Address Book, you can even synchronize contacts to your iPhone for accessing your contacts on the go."
    How?

Ugh...I just spent lots of hours over the last several days trying to figure this out and was coming to the conclusion that it could be that it really doesn't work as advertising. It seems confirmed now.
A bit disappointing that it seems like it would be better to run an Exchange server instead of Snow Leopard server....
I have MobileMe as well, but it doesn't seem like I can get SL Server --> Mac Addressbook.app --> MobileMe --> iPhone... but I'll give it a few tries.
