[ADF-11.1.2] Using Pageflow scope MB in pages is throwing TargetUnreachable

Hi,
I have a BTF with one MB "TempBeanVar" Configured as pageFlow scope.
I then configured created one page (.jsff) which is called in above BTF.
On that page: I have created a button with actionListener = <af:commandToolbarButton text="View" id="ctb1" actionListener="#{TempBeanVar.onView}"/>On Web browser: I click on button, I get following error message but when I change the scope of "TempBeanVar" from pageFlow to Request, and re-run the page, It calls onView method of MB w/o any error.
I don't understand, if we can using pageFlow scoped MB in any of activities (it's working in method calls), why I can't use in page activities (called from same Task flow).
Note: When I try to edit actionListener Property in jDeveloper, It is showing "TempBeanVar" as one of value in Managed Bean drop down but also showing - Reference "TempBeanVar" not found - warning message in jDeveloper when the scope set to pageFlow in BTF.
Error Message on Browser:

For the record this is just a peculiarity of Oracle's JSF solution. The standard JSF bean scopes don't require a scope qualifier in the EL expressions, but Oracle's pageFlowScope & backingBeanScope scoped beans do.

  • ADF Taskflows with EJB and pageflow scope

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a simple registration page which is very simillar to FOD customer registration using EJBs instead of ADF BC.
    I can achieve the registration in one page but I wanted to try this using a wizard based process using ADF taskflows.
    I created a bounded taskflow with 3 pages. page1 is employee details, page2 is job details, page 3 is the summary page. I have JPA entities for Employee and Jobs and an EJB3 session Facade. I have used the Employees default constructor to create the UI bindings from the constructor section of the data controls. This creates an EmployeesIterator which I use it for bindings on all the three pages.
    My question is can I use this Iterator binding in pageflow scope? If yes How do I do this?
    The other way is to use a managed bean in pageflow scope and have UI bindings to the variables in managed bean. This option will work but I will not be utilising any of the features of ADF bindings.
    Can anyone please suggest which is the better option.
    Thanks
    Venkatesh

    Hi,
    pageDef files can be shared, but their instances aren't. The caching is on the data control side, which means that instead of using a constructor you would break up the input form into method calls like
    createPerson(String, fn, String ln, String address)
    createInterest(String hobby1, String hobby2);
    dagging and dropping the method calls should the reate an input form. Submitting the forms allows you to build a new person object on the session facade which at the end is committed. This way the ADF binding works across pages, operating on a single new object

  • How to use Session scope in jsp page

    Hello, I have login form, where user provides username and password. Then click on submit, it will forward to validation.jsp. Where it will check in database make sure username and password exit. Now i can also retrive accountid of perticular user. I want to put that username and accountid in session scope. so all other pages can use that username and accountid. How can i do that. I'm new at this, so please provide me example too. Here is my code for login.jsp and validation.jsp..

  • Problem in ADF Tree When I use 2 Tree in a Page with same View Object !

    Hi everybody,
    I use JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 and ADF Faces in UI . I have 2 tree in a page that they are from same Updatable View Object but diffrent instances in application module . When I change an attribute value from one of them in manage Bean programmatically , both of them change??!! in my case I put a checkbox in nodeStamp, when user click on checkbox, title of row must change but title in both of them change?????
    I think it is a bug.
    please help me. Thanks

    >
    so what is diffrent to use same view object instances in page or multiple instances when we need ??
    >
    Actually, this depends on your use case. suppose you have a view object with a bind variable, and you want to display to tables on the same page but with different query result depending on the bind variable, in this case you have to create two view instances.

  • ADF 11g Taskflows and PageFlow Scope.

    Hi,
    I am working in ADF11g and I have a question on ADF Taskflows and PageFlow Scopes.
    I have 2 bounded taskflows a and b. a is in showdetailitem1 and b in showdetailitem2. I have created a bounded taskflow on a and b and dropped on a page.I have some values set in page flow scope of a and when I try to retrieve those values in b, I get them as null.
    Can anyone tell me what could be wrong.
    Thanks,
    User

    Hi,
    As i understand, each bounded taskflow will have a separate pageFlowScope. I believe, I have read this before in the documentation but now having a hard time finding it. If you need to share the same variable between bounded taskflows, you can look into taskflow parameters or contextual events. Another dirty and easy way is to use session scope (not recommended if can be avoided).

  • When to use which scope

    Hi,
    I have a CRUD application.. Where in the data is fetched, displayed n edited n stored back to db. Also there is a sequential access between pages & the information entered on the first page is needed on the second page & so forth. What would be the best scope & why ?
    When to use which scope? What is the life-cycle of each scope.
    Also, I couldn't find any good tutorial on scopes. If you are aware of the same, please guide.
    Its urgent.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks in advance.You could use ViewScope and parameters to the next view or if using CDI have a look at conversation scope. You should read about them in detail yourself because even if someone chooses one for you it's still you who has to go on to use it correctly.

  • What is use of SCOPE OF LIST in PO replorts.?

    Hi guru's
    Can anybody explain me , what is ithe use of scope of list in Reporting PO,like, me2n.me2l,me2m..etc
    If i want to add new scope of list , what are all configuration part for that, where i want to assign it..?
    Good solution will be rewardable..
    Thanks
    sap-mm

    Hi,
    Scope of List is defines the type of output which will be displayed. e.g It can be ALV display, it can be hierarchial dispaly.
    Each of these dispalys have their own properties and advantages and disadvantages. Hence, SAP has provided various option to the users to choose the kind of dispaly he wants.
    I dont think so there is any customisation for maintaining the entries to this scope of list. The values in the drop down are the options provided by SAP.

  • Use of scope resolution operator in PHP development example

    I am relatively new to OOP in general so this question may sound dumb but
    In this documentation:  Query Performance and Prefetching
    To quote that text, "
    The $db->setPrefetch() call is used to set the prefetch value. The microtime() calls are used to show how long the report took to generate.
    A new Db::fetchRow() method is used to get one row at a time. It is called in a loop after the query has been run"
    Why the does it use the scope resolution operator? Isn't it used for just static methods and overridden methods.
    I do not see any static declaration when this method is entered into class.
    To quote the method declaration:
      /** * Fetch a row of data. Call this in a loop after calling Db::execute() * * @return array An array of data for one row of the query */
    public function fetchRow() {
    $row = oci_fetch_array($this->stid, OCI_ASSOC + OCI_RETURN_NULLS);
    return($row);
    Am I missing something really trivial thing about this concept?
    Thank you.

    It's shorthand documentation for "A new fetchRow() method in the DB class is used to get..."

    The variables scope is only accessible in the current
    template. The
    request scope is accessible in the current template and any
    other
    template, such as a custom tag or include file, that is used
    to build
    the current request.

  • Anyone Using NI-SCOPE 3.1 + 5122

    Hi ...
    I am currently encountering strange effects when using NI-Scope 3.1 with a 5122 (256Mb).
    If anyone has the same configuration, would you please mind checking the following:
    * Open the example NI Scope EX Multi-Record from the example finder
    * Set the setting to lines
    * Set the number of records to 2
    * Use channel setting: "0:1"
    * Perform an acquisition
    * Now you should see 4 waveforms, quite neatly aligned
    * Now enter the block diagram and there, change 2D DBL to 1D Waveform (the polymorph NI-Scope VI).
    * Perform the acquisition
    * Does the waveform look the same?
    I get three channels which seem to fit, and another one which is constantly zero. Furthermore, the channel which is zero ranges from 0 to 255, wheras the other channels have correct time values.
    Thank you for your help.

    Thomas,
    This is a bug in NI-Scope.  When you fetch multiple records from
    multiple channels at the same time with the 1D WDT VI, the last few
    records seem to get messed up.  We'll fix the bug for Scope 3.2
    (expected next month), which will be available for download.
    As a workaround in the meantime, split the fetch into two steps:
      - fetch all the records from channel 0 only
      - fetch all the records from channel 1 only
    This won't be substantially less efficient than fetching all channels and records at once.
    Alternatively, the other multi-fetch VIs seem to be working fine.
    Try the 1D cluster- it contains the same data as the 1D WDT, just
    different types.
    I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.  We'll be investigating this immediately.

    Iam new in oracle adf can u please help me.
    How to cretate adf datatable application by using jdeveloper11g

    As Frank mentioned, you should decide which jdev version you want to use (11.1.1.x = http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/overview/index-100269.html or 11.1.2.x = http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/toc.htm). The you use start the tutorial 'Developing Rich Web Applications with Oracle ADF' for your version. This tutorial is a step by step tutorial which you should be able to follow easily.

  • How to get form input in the same portlet using pageflow

    Hi this is premkumar
    i created 2 portlet in a portal how to get form input in the sampe portlet using
    pageflow
    help as early as possible

    Do to the complexity of the program we need to run it with sequences.  This is because we need to aquire data with DAQ until it reaches a certain point and then stop collecting so that it can do its process (only once for all times criteria is met), and then loop around till again collecting after DAQ drops back below certain point looking to once again reach that point.  Another flat sequence is going outside of this where I want to put the prompt and have a user input to affect how many times that that the inner loop is run (No a For Loop instead of the while loop will not work either for other reasons).
    I just want to know if after the program starts you can have a user input that will change the effect of the rest of the programs action based on the number inputed.
