ADF FACES: af:subform not working

Question

I'm using EA13 and I'm trying to convert a page with multiple forms to using af:subform components and they don't appear to work. No matter which subform you post, the client side validations (in my case "required" tests) for all the forms are executing.
Is af:subform supposed to work in EA13?
