Adf-faces-ea15 missing share-1_1_18.jar?

Hi,
I've just tried to install adf-faces from ea15 without having any previous version of it. Target is the production version of JDev. Reading through how-to-adf-faces-10gjdev.htm it seems there are some files in ea15 missing: share-1_1_18.jar and the adf-faces-install.zip. In ea12 these files are available. So does one have to install an older version to get ea15 working?

Yes, after writing the post I've read it in an older documentation. I do understand that the how-to does not necessarily get update everytime a ea is released.
Nethertheless, thank you.

  • ADF Faces Component Missing

    I follow the instructions found here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/adfjsf/how-to-adf-faces-10gjdev.htm?_template=/ocom/technology/content/print
    When I get to the section:
    Creating a simple ADF Faces application to test your configuration
    My component pallet is missing the following item:
    "JSF Core".
    What do I need to do to install this component?
    Thanks.

    I tried to download and follow the instructions for the early access release, and test the configuration of the project I built off of the .war file within jdeveloper but found that the .zip files you have to download from Sun are empty. I thought I would look here to see if anyone else had run into this problem. Check to see if the jsf-api.jar from the jsf-1_1.zip has anything in it.

  • ADF Faces : UploadedFile missing bytes

    hi
    Please consider a simple ADF Faces application, in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0, with an upload page containing this:
      <f:view>
        <afh:html>
          <afh:head title="uploadedFileIssue">
            <meta http-equiv="Content-Type"

          </afh:head>
          <afh:body>
            <af:form usesUpload="true">
              <af:panelPage title="uploadedFileIssue">
                <af:panelForm>

    import javax.faces.event.ValueChangeEvent;
    import oracle.adf.view.faces.model.UploadedFile;
    public class UploadedFileIssue
         public void onInputFileValueChange(ValueChangeEvent pValueChangeEvent)
              UploadedFile vUploadedFile = (UploadedFile)pValueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
              System.out.println("UploadedFileIssue.onInputFileValueChange()"
                   + " : getFilename() = " + vUploadedFile.getFilename()
                   + ", getLength() = " + vUploadedFile.getLength());
    }The web.xml file has been configured like this:

    question:
    Why are there bytes missing in the UploadedFile instances?
    note:
    This issue is narrowed down from the discussion in this forum thread:

    Thanks for your reply John.
    In the Re: ADF Faces file upload: losing bytes on PDF file you refer to, you write "I'm currently guessing something wrong in the DB with Intermedia, but not sure.".
    But, using the ADFUploadedFileIssue-v0.01.zip example application I posted in this forum thread, it is clear that something is already wrong in the UploadedFile implementation.
    Currently I only have bug 6774514 logged, but no solution yet.

  • ADF Faces EA15: table update not working properly after dialog return event

    Hi,
    in my application I have a table with read-only records and an edit button for each row.
    The button triggers a dialog where one field of of the record can be edited.
    The record is a bean which is put into processScope.
    After accepting the change in the dialog the bean makes an update in the database changing the order of the records in the table on the launching page.
    The return event triggers a re-rendering of the launching page (which I can see from the output of a phase listener) and the table model gets updated but the table output is not updated visually.
    However, if I call the dialog on another record I don't get the record I see in the table but instead I get the record which I'd expected if the table re-rendered properly.
    Do I have to trigger any kind of event on the table now so that the framework knows that a change has taken place and that the table has to be re-rendered? There is no difference whether I use PPR or not. It used to work in EA14.
    Thanks,
    Achim

    In EA14, the return from the dialog required a full-page refresh (whether the dialog was launched with PPR or not didn't matter). In EA15, it's done with PPR if possible. This avoids the flash (and re-scrolling, etc.), but means you do need to tell us what's going to get changed because of the return. You can use partialTriggers on the table with the "id" of the button to make this happen.

  • ADF Faces components are not rendered in Jdeveloper visual editor

    Hi!
    I'm using Jdeveloper 1013 Developer Preview. I found that the components of ADF Faces EA16 are not shown on the visual editor in Jdeveloper, but the ADF Faces EA15 components are shown. I'm just wondering if this is normal, and there is anything that can be done to fix this?
    Meen

    I know there's a recent release with a visual editor problem, but I'm not sure which one it is. This thread says you need a fresh install? Can you try that?

  • Image icons missing from ADF faces selectManyShuttle?

    Hi all, I'm using <af:selectManyShuttle and it works great, but I noticed it looks a lot different from the examples on
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/howtos/adfskins/index.html
    (all I get is text, no cool images)
    Also the ADF faces example apps don't seem to display icons either. Have I missed something?
    There are files like images/oracle/smvall.gif inside adf-faces-impl-ea20-SNAPSHOT.jar but they don't appear to be used at all. Any help much appreciated.
    Regards, Murray

    I'm having a similar problem: some images show up with the selecManyShuttle, but others do not.
    Also, when I add a leadingHeader and/or a trailingHeader, the text is displayed twice. Once in the correct position, and once after each list.

  • ADF faces jar files needed (urgent)

    Hi,
    I have downloaded one sample adf faces application from oracle site, but it does not have the jar files. They are saying that you can download the neccassary jar files from the Oracle Technology Network (OTN) Web site as a .zip archive that contains the tag libraries, documentation, and a Web application example.
    But i was not able to locate the specified zip file in OTN web site. If someone knows please tell me from where should i download the specfied jar file.
    I have downloaded the sample appl from the following link..

    Thanks in advance..
    Regards,
    Saravanam

    Hi,
    This is a very old how-to that was released during JDeveloper preview. If you go to otn.oracle.com/proucts/jdev --> JSF then you can find the download reference.
    The newer - production class - ADF Faces jar files are not for download separately but are part of Oracle JDeveloper and available in its jlib directory. So you could go download JDeveloper and get adf-faces.jar

  • ADF faces (adf-faces-impl.jar) on Glassfish not being deleted on undeploy

    I'm using Glassfish milestone 48 (Windows) and Oracle's ADF Faces in a basic web application. When undeploying an already deployed application the adf-faces-impl.jar is not being deleted from the applications WEB-INF/lib folder on the server.
    Google searches have led me to believe that this is because the file was locked at the time the app was being undeployed. All my application does is display an ADF Faces date component using the ADF taglib. There is no programming logic built in it (yet). So I'm guessing there is some issue with ADF Faces and Glassfish. I verified this same error when using the ADF Faces demo war application that is packaged with the ADF Faces download.
    Stopping Glassfish and starting it up again solves this file locking issue. But this is far from ideal in a development environment where we constantly redeploy apps.
    Any help on how to fix this would be of immense help.

    Here is a stack trace from the point where the jar file is opened during deployment of adf-faces-impl to GlassFish. On the surface, it looks as if a stream might be opened but not closed in the ADF code?

  • ADF Faces RC browser support and browser market share

    hi

    ... it looks like about 20 to 30 percent is still Internet Explorer 6 (which is not supported by ADF Faces Rich Client components).
    Which role should this play in a decision to choose for ADF Faces Rich Client components to build an internet application today?
    Maybe some can share their experience in making such choice.
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

    Hi Jan,
    (e1) That's a really good example, but the deciding point is different than browser version imho.
    In that example, the hospital control its technological infrastructure so I would say it's safe to ask the users to upgrade as the hospital team is actually going to do it. In this case it depends if the hospital itself is willing to upgrade its apps, not the users. However, the patients are a special kind of users of which at least a small amount will be physically disabled to some point so you'll have to evaluate the accessibility potential of ADF Faces RC and, as most rich libraries, it's not that awesome. So, in that example, I think you would have to use pure Trinidad instead as its accessibility support is a bit better or at least reduce the usage of rich features in RC (like no drag-drop since it's a nightmare for both blind and mobility reduced users).
    (e2) imho, no it wouldn't be safe to use RC if the target date is within 1 year since you don't control the user base in that example and not supporting a browser might cut your customer base and thus reduce your revenue.
    Regards,
    ~ Simon

  • Workaround for missing ADF Faces Cache taglib

    I've downloaded Steve's migrated version of SRdemo (http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/muench/1013srdemo/SRDemoSampleADFBC_migrated_to_11g_otn3.zip) and am trying to run it on JDev 11g TP3. However it couldn't find the ADF Faces Cache taglib in the afc.jar file that is deployed within the UserInterface project as it looks for a D:\temp... path.
    A workaround for this is to:
    * go to UserInterface "Project Properties...", choose JSP Tag Libraries: "ADF Faces Cache 1.0" will be shown in red as it references jar:file:/D:/temp/SRDemoSampleADFBC/UserInterface/public_html/WEB-INF/lib/afc.jar!/META-INF/afc.tld
    * delete the red "ADF Faces Cache 1.0"
    * click "Add", "User" folder at top, then click "New" button.
    * navigate to the directory where your SRDemo project is stored and then UserInterface/public_html/WEB-INF/lib/afc.jar - then click OK.
    * it calls this "ADF Faces Cache [1] 1.1" - select this and click OK, then save the project properties.
    You should now see ADF Faces Cache [1] 1.1 in the list - I'm assuming this is a new version of afc.jar not yet bundled with JDev 11g.
    HTH. Any comments or alternative suggestions welcome!

    2. Answer its question Itself. Yes, change the filling items in SelectOneChoice through ForEach on preparing the reference book in BackBean and bind it with attribute "value" of f:selectItems speedup rendering about 6 times!

  • Message bundle, replace default "Required" message in ADF faces

    Hello,
    I hope i can ask some ADF faces questions here,
    I am trying to replace the default msg that adf faces give for different components
    I successfully created a resource properties file which includes 2 msgs, one is to replace the default value given to required msg, and other is just a msg i will use for one of my buttons.
    oracle.adf.view.faces.UIXEditableValue.REQUIRED=Enter number please
    button_name=Submit
    I specify this bundle in my application node in my faces config file.
    I also load it with loadbudle component in the page that i want to use it.
    now i can call my second msg "button_name" fine from with in the page, so I know that I have my file set up correctly,
    but the first msg, which is the key for the required msg, does not work
    em i missing something??
    is there a different setup when trying to override msgs.
    Thank you

    I found a solution,
    I hope there is a better one,
    What i did is a got the source for ADF faces found the XML file where all the msgs are located (MessageBundle.xrts). Then using a tool that comes with the source files XRTSMakeBundle, I compiled the XML file, and it created java files with all the msgs. So I compiled them and replaced the classes in the ADF faces api jar.
    this seems like a long work around, in JSF RI, all you have to do is extend the key in the resource bundle and poof it works, I couldn't get that working here.
    This works, seems like a lot of work for a simple task!!!
    any other solutions out there????
