ADF on websphere

Can I deploy an ADF application which enable ADF security to websphere 7?

For WebSphere
Use the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Application Developer Installer to install the ADF runtime and the necessary Oracle Enterprise Manager components into the WebSphere installation. For information about installing WebSphere, see the Oracle Fusion Middleware Third-Party Application Server Guide.

• Java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError with ADF and Websphere

I'm trying to get an app running with ADF/Tomahawk/MyFaces/Facelets going on Websphere 6.0. However Websphere is running with a 1.4.2 JVM instead of 1.5 so I get an error when it comes to the ADF NavigationHandlerImpl which has been built with Java 1.5. Is there a Java 1.4 version of ADF faces I should have downloaded somewhere?
Hints appreciated.

Hi,
you will have to compile the application with JDK 1.4 in this case. This should work for JSF and ADF Faces.

• Looking for clarification on ADF 12.1.2 WLS support

What versions of WLS supports ADF 12.1.2? If there is support for 11g, are there any documentation on how to install the ADF 12 Runtime?
Oracle JDeveloper 12c Support</title><meta name="Title" content="Oracle JDeveloper 12c Support&q…
Application Servers
The following table shows application servers supported by JDeveloper and ADF. Application Server support for JDeveloper is provided for connecting and deploying directly to the server as well as debugging. For ADF, it refers to servers that ADF applications can be deployed to.
Application Server
JDeveloper
ADF
Oracle Fusion Middleware (WLS)
10.3.5+, 12.1.2
12.1.2
GlassFish
3.1+
3.1 (ADF Essentials)
WebSphere
8.x
JBoss
5
Tomcat
7
Oracle Cloud
13.1

I'm not hearing any oracle responses, thus I can only assume what Timo said is the closest to that fact.
Here is what I know about what a production ready standalone WLS 12c with ADF Runtime 12.1.2 entails:
-a domain running on WLS 12.1.2 needs JRF & Coherence to be installed in order to run ADF 12.1.2 https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2559381
-JRF & Coherence on WLS 12.1.2 needs a RCU database repository JDeveloper 12c & Standalone WLS w/ADF Runtime 12.1.2
-WLS 12.1.2 is only certified to run on Oracle DB 11.1.0.7+ http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/wls-1211x-certmatrix-1395408.xls
Does that sound about right?
I hope I'm wrong and someone can guide me to easier setup. It seems that getting a standalone WLS server to run ADF has gotten harder with every new release!
I can get a standalone WLS 10.3.5 up with ADF 11.1.2.4 in ~3mins
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG6wqrFVY00
WLS 10.3.6 with ADF 11.1.2.4 requires 2 additional console applied patches ontop of the 11.1.1.6 runtime installer. (Corrected from false version of 11.1.1.7)
WLS 12.1.2 with ADF 12.1.2 - I have not attempted but it seems to be even more involved than the previous.

Well, the certification matrix (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/documentation/1212-cert-1964670.html#Abrams-SupportInformation-Ap…) tells you

• Problems deploying app to WebSphere in EAR, fine via JDeveloper

JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0, WebSphere 7.0.0.17, Windows 2008 server
We have developed some applications that use ADF and are trying to port them to WebSphere. We've done the adding of ADF to WebSphere, and set up WebSphere application connectors in JDeveloper.
When we build our apps in JDeveloper, then deploy to WebSphere directly, they run in WebSphere.
When we take the same applications and deploy them to an EAR file, then install the EAR file in WebSphere, they're not running.
The applications run fine both ways when deployed to WebLogic 10.3.5.
After the EAR deployment when running our application in WebSphere we get
Error 500: javax.servlet.ServletException: Filter [ADFLibraryFilter]: Could not find required filter class - oracle.adf.library.webapp.LibraryFilter.class
I found that that class is in adflibfilter.jar, I manually add that as a test, deploy from the EAR, I get
Error 500: javax.servlet.ServletException: Filter [trinidad]: Could not find required filter class - org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.webapp.TrinidadFilter.class
So I'm thinking that the EAR deployments aren't finding any of the ADF and if I continue I'll be manually adding all of ADF.
Also, this may be a clue, when deploying via an EAR, WebSphere wants us to manually wire up the JDBC references to JDBC resources, but when deploying via JDeveloper that step is handled automatically.
Where should I start?

Hi
I have a few doubts in the deployment. I am using Standalone OC4J as my target App Server. My first doubt is that, do i need to install ADF Runtime Libs. If yes, what will be the location of the ADF libs/jars in the server location.
I am srill getting the error :
2009-09-18 12:25:03.325 WARNING The AdfFacesFilter has not been installed. ADF Faces requires this filter for proper execution.
2009-09-18 12:25:24.340 NOTIFICATION oracle.adf.share.config.ADFConfigFactory No META-INF/adf-config.xml found
Can somebody help me out.
Thanks

• Problems when deploying an CMP EJB to websphere

Hi,
I am trying to deploy my ear file which contains some CMP Entity Beans and a Session Bean on to websphere.
I have tested my app on JBoss and Weblogic and it works fine. I believe i need some vendor specific info in order to deploy onto WS, but i dont know what it is.
When i do deploy to WS i get the following error.
EJB [TestEJB] is misconfigured: no CMP mapping defined by OpenEJB DD.
Could someone let me know what this info is or where i can get it from.

Hi,
as you are from Oracle, can you reach out to internal forums and mailing lists? JDeveloper 11.1.1.7 RC1 is not available outside of Oracle and therefore should not have questions posted on this public forum.

• Deploying ADF/JDeveloper portlets in WebSphere Portal

I'd like to use ADF/JDeveloper to build my application, but my customer is already heavily invested on a WebSphere Portal deployment platform. The JDeveloper/ADF documentation has extensive information on creating portlets in various ways, but they all seem focused exclusively on deploying in an Oracle platform. I have tried both the "Standards-Based" as well as the "JSF Portlet Bridge". I have tried to deploy the portlets in WebSphere Portal using both the generated WAR file, as well as by registering the WSRP producer. None work.
With the WAR file, WebSphere Portal seems to import the WAR file just fine, and I can add a portlet to a page, but the portlet always shows as "unavaiable"
With the WSRP producer, I can get something to show in the page, but the functionality within the portlet doesn't seem to work.
I've searched extensively, but cannot locate any documentation or use cases for deploying portlets from JDeveloper into WebSphere Portal. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Dvohra21, again, I apreciate the effort, but I think you're missing the fundamental question.
You've given me two types of articles/links. Some are generic WebSphere Portal documentation about deploying a portlet from a WAR file. Others are Oracle articles about who to generate portlets in JDeveloper, with examples deploying in Oracle/WebLogic servers. Unfortunately I don't have a problem with either of those.
I CAN deploy a portlet WAR file in WebSphere Portal, and sucessfully add it to a Portal page. I have done that with multiple WAR files generated from Rational Application Developer.
I CAN produce a WAR file from JDeveloper, following the instructions in the same resources you included, plus a few others.
The problem is, the WAR file from JDeveloper, does not successfully run on WebSphere Portal. I create a simple Hello World portlet in JDeveloper, and I can generate a WAR file from it, and seemingly deploy to WebSphere Portal. However when I add it to a Portal page, it always displays only a blank box with the text "This portlet is unavailable". This is in the same exact portal page, where the portlet created with Rational Application Developer shows up just fine right along side it.
Bottomline is, although there is a great deal of information an demos about generating portlets from JDeveloper within an Oracle environment, I could not find a SINGLE ONE, that goes through an end to end scenario where it is deployed in WebSphere Portal. Nothing in this forum, nothing in Oracle docs, and nothing I can find on a Google search.

I am now trying to install the ADF Libraries 11.1.1.2 onto websphere. I downloaded just the framework from the oracle website. There is no Jdeveloper on the server.
Anyways Websphere 8 is installed as root
where as the libraries were downloaded and unziped as Oracle.
So before signing in as oracle I do
xhost +
su oracle
now I have ran the installer from the Disk1 location and Disk1/linux64 location as well---but I get an error
[ERROR]: Installer has encountered an interenal Error. Contact Oracle support with details.

I will look into that.
One more question that I wanted to ask was: When I am instaling the IBM Websphere should I be installing that under the Oracle user or Root. Since the Oracle Universal Installer will only work under Oracle.
I was thinking Oracle?
Thanks

Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle ADF runtime for Websphere. I downloaded the installer from this link http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/ofm_appdev_generic_11.1.1.2.0_disk1_1of1.zip
When I extract and run the installer, I do not see the option for "Application Server Screen" where I am supposed to be able to select websphere option.
Am I using the right installer? Is there any other way to enable the websphere option?
Thanks,
Neha

• Does anyone deploy 10.1.3 applications (adf & toplink) in websphere 6.0?

does anyone deploy 10.1.3 applications (adf & toplink) in websphere 6.0?
We are migrating the Jdev code to 10.1.3 and make some more development.
do any of you deploy 10.1.3 in websphere 6.0?
Thanks

I am not using the ADF or Toplink.
Just a simple welcome page. I followed the steps from metalink and downgrade
Jdeveloper JDK 1.4.2 still doesn't work. any Idea?

• ADF/EJB/toplink on websphere 6.0

Hi ,
I am trying to deploy a simple application ADF-JSF calling an EJB and using toplink to map to the database.
This works fine in the jdev env, however iam unable to deploy and run this in websphere.
So i developed a sample hello world jsf page in jdev and tried to deploy the same in the websphere.
I had followed the steps given in the 10.1.3. document on how to deploy to websphere.
Looks like I have issues similar to "http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=2312499&#2312499"
Does anyone have any idea ?
-TIA

Yes I did.
I changed the "war" class loading policy to "Application" and class loader policy to "server last".

• Need ADF login backing bean that will work with WebSphere

I'm working on an ADF app in the Fusion Middleware stack and have implemented a login backing bean according to this doc:
Fusion Developer's Guide for Oracle ADF, Chapter 30: "+Enabling ADF Security in a Fusion Web Application.+"
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/b31974/adding_security.htm#BGBFJJJH
However, the use of weblogic.servlet.security.ServletAuthentication requires the weblogic.jar on the classpath.
Is there a viable alternative that is container-agnostic? Something that could work in WebSphere and WebLogic?

Hi Frank,
I've been following breadcrumbs this morning from http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2011/05/oracle-webcenter-11g-ps3-adf-security.html to Bug 9444998 to the LoginBackingBean.java code referred to in in the bug fix notes. (I don't know if it's appropriate to post the code here, so I'll just refer to it.)
It looks like that code could be reasonably generic-ized to remove the Webcenter-specific i18n code. The rest of it appears to just have a dependency on the JRF library's ServerPlatformSupportFactory in order to discover what container is being used. If the container is WAS or something else, the code does a login (and session creation, it seems) using the j_security_check servlet.
Do you see any issues with this approach?
