Adf panel header facets disappear in internet explorer 8, 9

Hello!
I am using JDev&ADF 11.1.2.2 and my application works fine in Firefox 15.
However, when opening it in IE 8 or 9, I get a problem with panel header facets.
I have some jsff pages containing master-detail relationship with panel headers both in the master and the detail part.
Every page is based on a page template. Every panel header contains Text and Toolbar buttons.
In IE, when I try to change any attribute in the master table, Text and Toolbar disappear from the master panel header. I only can get them back if I refresh the page.
I do not get this error when not using master-detail relationship, i.e. when I put only one table per page.
I do not get this error in Firefox.

I test this issue, actually, in IE 11, the option "set as backgroud" is grayed out after I applied policy Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization > Prevent changing desktop background, but seems not suitable for
other versions of IE.

Search hover panel not showing up in Internet Explorer with custom master page

The hover panel is not showing up in internet explorer. I am using a custom master page and it works no problem in the other browsers. When I fire up the debugger there is an error message when i hover over a search result item:
I tried debugging the JavaScript but i am not sure what is going on with it.
Am I missing reference or something done like that? It has to be something simple because I have been scratching my head for a while on this.
Any ideas?

Have you tried rendering the site in IE Compatability Mode? Compatability Mode solves a lot of problems in this area because older versions of IE had a unique interpretation of HTML code.

ADF Faces - showOneTab PPR problem in Internet Explorer

Hoping someone has some insight into this that may help. This is causing us a lot of problems for us and could end up causing us to drop ADF faces from our project.
Basically we are using af:showOneTab in our application and the first time we change tabs and every other time after that, the progress bar in IE basically runs forever and we have problems with afh:script tags that set the focus to the desired input field. We get a Javascript error that the element doesn't exist (it does, checked with a DOM explorer), or its not ready (may not be because of the progress bar) or isn't visible (it is).
So after a lot of debugging in our application I just went back to the adf demo war file and the showOneTab component demo page in there shows exactly the same behavior. Firefox 1.5.0.7 does not have this problem.
Here are the relevent versions of everything:
ADF faces standalone jars, version 10.1.3.0.4 from the main ADF faces page download.
JSF 1.1_01 RI
Websphere 6.0 App Server
Internet Explorer version 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519
JDK 1.4 - required because of WAS 6.0

I did find a workaround to this problem. I think its pretty ugly though. I had to add the following to the page:

Then I add the iframeUpdate script as a partial Target in my tab disclosure listener:

     AdfFacesContext adfContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
     if(target != null) {
          adfContext.addPartialTarget(target);
Just thought I'd follow up as I remember others having the progress bar run forever in IE as well.

Panel covers important "view" button;Internet Explorer is fine with this.

My online banking page has a window where I can choose to see transactions completed 2,4,6 or more weeks previously. Next to the window SHOULD be a "VIEW" button which I click to get the desired transactions. For a few months now, there is a Self Service panel which covers the "VIEW" button; I cannot access the desired information. Before that, it worked fine. Using my Internet Explorer browser, I can access the page and the "VIEW" button is easily accessible. There's something wrong with my banking page.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause such issues.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

Png images not shown in applet when opened in internet explorer

hi all,
I am using some transparent PNG images in my applet . Its working properly in appletviewer as well as netscape but images just disappear in internet explorer.
same image appears in internet explorer but not in applet in internet explorer.
can anybody help me ?

The java version that IE has doesn't have support for PNG, only gif and jpeg.

yes I understand the problem and I answered it last weak already for a Reports output related question. You can't change this in IE if not wantigt o remove it for all IE usages. (View--> Toolbars). If you only want to remove it for the Forms session then you need to start Forms from a Javascript link using window.open().

I am trying to download the newest Itunes to windows 7. I did have a previous version that I used the control panel to delete. When I click on download, I get a small partial window in the upper left corner showing Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Web

When I do the download, I get a small window in the upper left saying Internet Explorer Cannot Display Webpage. It is trying to get to ....itunes64setup. I did check to see that all old Apple directorories, etc have been delete. Help!

Okay. Let's see if you've acquired some kind of restriction for the download site. These settings checks/changes apply to the IE downloads, so we'll be trying to use IE again.
Head into your Internet Options control panel, and click the Security tab. Click Restricted Sites.
Check to see if the following website is listed as a restricted site:
appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net
If it is, remove it from your list of restricted sites and try another download.
If still no joy, head back into the security tab of the Internet Options control panel. Click Trusted Sites this time. Click the "Sites" button.
Add appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net as a trusted site. Uncheck the "Require server verification" box. Now click OK and try another download.

Remote Panel and Internet Explorer

Hello. I have a problem with a Remote Panel and Internet Explorer. I create a measurement system in LabVIEW. It�s composed of a main front panel and a few subVIs with independent front panels opened from main Front Panel when I press appropriate button. As a local system everything works ok but I try to create a web version of this system. I decide that I can use a Remote Panel. In Web Publishing Tool I was creating a web page for each of Front Panel. I try to have the same functionality as in local system, so when in Front Panel (opened in Internet Explorer window) I press appropriate button I want to open secondary Internet Explorer window with a subVI inside. And now I�m stuck because I can�t open this secondary window in a network w
orkstation. Has anyone have an idea how can I do it?

I think you have two options. You can open most modal subVI panels
directly on a remote machine. The popup panels won't be in a web page,
but it will work with few changes.
A second approach would be to change the app slightly. The buttons that
launch the subVIs will turn into URL links. The links will open a web
page with a different embedded panel.

Spry Accordion in Internet Explorer 6 - panel visibility

I am totally in love with the ease of Dreamweaver and these sprys I could not do my fancy eyecandy stuff without it.
Sadly I must check that our Grandma Internet Explorer 6 works with my page.
I have a spy accordion and I have removed all colors and put it in a div that has a background image.
When you click on a tab and a panel slides down then as it slides in FF or IE7/8 the text of the panel is revealed progressively.
In IE6 ALL of the text of the panel is immediately revealed and then the sliding down action happens. Similarly when you close it the sliding up action happens first and then the panel text dissappears. As I said it only happens with IE6.
I am wondeing what I need to do to fix this. I am sorry but I do not have a live version of my page.

Glad to know that you have fixed the problem.
I have checked the compatibility of spry and the ie7.js fix JavaScript files, and there was some compatibility issues in the past, but these (should have), been fixed.
The problems with messing up the display in IE6, are probably caused by IE6's css usage being brought into line with the standard css usage, which will cause problems for many if you do not know about them.
To help you with future IE problems here is a link showing most (if not all) know problems with the IE browsers.

Oracle ADF 11G R1 and 11G R2 and Internet Explorer 11 Support

Hello,
We are using Oracle ADF 11G R2 (11.1.2.4), and now that Microsoft has pushed Internet Explorer 11 to Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers, we are finding that our application is not working with IE11.
You get the popup that states "You are using an unsupported browser", and while everything renders on the screen, the application does not respond to user clicks.
Does anyone have workaround for IE11, and if anyone from Oracle is reading, can you give any tentative guidelines for IE11 support.

Support of ADF 11gR2 for Internet Explorer 10

Following this link:http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/jdev11gr2-cert-405181.html there currently is no certification of Internet Explorer 10 for ADF 11.1.2.3.0.
Are there any plans to certify Internet Explorer 10 in the near future?
In general it seems to work but there are a few glitches in the UI.

Remote Panel 8.6.1 won't load in Internet Explorer 9 (Windows7)

Hello everyone,
some years ago I installed a cRIO with an LabVIew 8.6.1 WebServer running on it. This worked flawlessly on XP with Internet Explorer.
The machine wasn't used for quite a while and in the mean time we have switched all our PCs to Windows 7.
I installed the LV RTE 8.6.1 and the patch 8.6.1f5 from http://www.ni.com/download/labview-run-time-engine-8.6.1/1244/en/
The addon is shown in Internet Explorer (although I am wondering it shows "8.6.0.something"). The IP is listed as trusted site and all ActiveX-Elements are enabled.
Still the panel only shows that it's loading on 0.00%.
Can someone help me with this issue?

Hi Andreas!
I had some cases in which disabling the windows firewall did not help, but I had to explicitly allow the used ports in the firewall settings. Sounds crazy, but it happened.
If you want to try that too, I'd try the following ports first:
Web Servers and Remote Control
Server Ports: UDP port 5353 (used for device detection over mDNS), TCP port 52725 (used for the NI Network Browser utility), TCP port 3580 (web monitoring and configuration server port)

Problem displaying header in Internet Explorer

Hi,
I've been posting a lot lately as I learn Dreamweaver. Anyways, I'm using a default template with a header at width=100% height=auto. I've also got a banner (a jpg file) in the div. The header displays perfectly in Firefox 3 and Safari 4 and 5, but Internet Explorer 7 and 8 both cut the header off. I've tried adjusting dimensions and simply cannot make it appear. You can view the page and check the code at parodylyrics.net . Thanks in advance, I'd like to get compatibility with all major browsers soon.

From your previous post I believe you're on a mission to scale the header to different browser resolutions.
You can make your divs adjust with % and auto but don't try it with your images.
Cross browser, you're going to have to put the actual image dimensions in the image tag for IE to behave:
<img src="../Images/banner.jpg" alt="Parody Lyrics" name="header_img" width="1115px" height="90px" id="header_img" />
