ADF partial trigeer

I am using 2 panel tabs on a jsf. page .Some fields of a table are in first tab and some are in second tab.I am using navigation(next) button on first page.i want this next button to navigate the to next record on the first as well as second tab.
please help

Hi,
to avoid page refreshes, set the partial trigger so the table on tab 2 references showDetailItem 2in its partial trigger settings. This way the table is refreshed when you switch the tab and shows the correct selected row

  • JQuery problem after ADF partial refresh

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3, and am trying to spice things up a little with some jQuery. However some of this code does not work as I expect after a partial refresh. In a simple page for testing purposes I have:
    bq. <afh:script text=" \\     $(document).ready(function() { \\         oldBackgroundColor = $('#outputText').css( 'background-color' ); \\         $('#outputText').css( 'background-color', 'red' ); \\         newBackgroundColor = $('#outputText').css( 'background-color' ); \\         alert('background color was ' + oldBackgroundColor + ', now ' + newBackgroundColor); \\     }); \\ "/>
    and
    bq. <af:outputText partialTriggers="button" id="outputText" value="some text whose background color changes"/> \\ <af:commandButton partialSubmit="true" immediate="true" id="button" text="partial submit button"/>
    When the page is initally loaded, the background color of the text is changed to red, and the alert is displayed saying something like 'background color was transparent, now red' (browser dependent).
    When the button is pushed, the background reverts to transparent (as expected as it is being loaded again). The alert is also displayed with the same message (indicating the color has been changed), but the background on the screen does not change.
    Is this what anyone would expect, and should it be possible? My javascript knowledge is pretty basic so I haven't got very far looking through the code trying to figure it out. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

  • ADF - Partial Page render in 2 comboboxes (CoreSelectOneChoice)

    Hi all,
    I am trying to do something with PPR and 2 CoreSelectOneChoice and i cannot make it.
    It's like this i have 2 views: Districts and Counties (One District has many Counties).
    I am trying to make an ADF Form where this two combos play together with PPR and with this i mean that if i select District combo it must filter which Counties to show in the other combo. Pretty easy hum? but i cannot get it.
    II have DistrictView1 and inside this view (from my dataControlPallete) i have CountiesView2.
    When i drop this as CoreSelectOneChoice and i tried partialSubmit=true in District Combo (which ID = DistrictID) and then i had PartialTriggers=DistrictID in my Counties Combo .... and NOTHING HAPPENS :)
    I tried this tell me what is wrong please:
    I had a valueChangeListener to my District Combo and then i tried to do this in my bean:
    public void valueChangeDistrict(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    // Add event code here...
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    OperationBinding operationBinding =
    bindings.getOperationBinding("setCurrentRowWithKeyDistrict"); //yeah i know it's not a row but let me try
    Object result = operationBinding.execute();
    bindings = getBindings();
    operationBinding =
    bindings.getOperationBinding("ExecuteCounties");
    result = operationBinding.execute();
    AdfFacesContext adfContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    adfContext.addPartialTarget(comboCounties);
    and then i had in my pagedef the following (Notice the NDValue which is where i think the error must be)
    <action id="setCurrentRowWithKeyDistrict" IterBinding="DistrictView1Iterator"
    InstanceName="AdminAMDataControl.DistrictView1"
    DataControl="AdminAMDataControl" RequiresUpdateModel="false"
    Action="96">
    <NamedData NDName="rowKey" NDType="java.lang.String"
    NDValue="????? what do i put here?"/>
    </action>
    sorry for all the trouble and
    Thank you :)
    André

    Why don't you help us?
    I've managed to filter the second combo with autosubmit=true
    and an invokeAction
    <invokeAction Binds="ExecuteWithParams" id="test" Refresh="renderModel"/>

  • ADF partial page updates fails after changing the JSESSIONID name

    Hi All.
    I'm using Human Task WorkFlow (11g, wls 10.3.4).
    I changed session-descriptor to WORKLISTAPPSESSIONID of woklistapp application and my deployed TaskFlow.
    After that ajax partial pages updates fails with java.lang.NullpointerExpcetion in the log.
    I think ajax based code does not use session-descriptor element (in the weblogic.xml) to determine the session id cookie name.
    And i cant find where and what i have to modify?
    Guys, please, help.

  • Adf partial page rendering not working in safari (iphone and ipad)

    Hi,
    ADF rich faces PPR seems to not work in safari browser on iphone and ipad.
    PPR works first time around, but fails on the second click on the same page on the sam button.
    Any one else had the same problem with Safari browser?
    Johnny

    Hi Shay,
    Thank you for the quick answer.
    No it does not work on the ipad or iphone.
    It works on chrome for the ipad!
    PPR does not work for the second click on the same button.
    In you example it will accept the first click but ignore the rest of the clicks on the same button.
    We are about to create a ADF app for the ipad and this is a major showstopper.
    Hope we can find some sort of workaround, that does not involve dropping PPR.
    Regards Johnny

  • Can big-ADF be used to implement mobile solutions elegantly?

    How can we create a scrollable-region above an anchored contextual toolbar? Here's a mockup:
    http://i.imgur.com/j9Mmh.png
    We tried using a listView inside of a panelStretchLayout, but it scrolls the entire page... Unfortunately,
    we can't use 'ADF-mobile' or 'ADF Mobile for Browser' as technology stacks... Also, how does ADF recognize
    it's hitting a mobile device? The demo site uses some sort of agent detection (below), but we couldn't replicate this behavior...
    dimensionsFrom="#{adfFacesContext.agent.capabilities['touchScreen'] eq 'none' ? 'parent' : 'children' }"
    thanks

    Yes it can,
    But there is a major bug/showstopper that needs to be fixed:
    Re: Adf partial page rendering not working in safari (iphone and ipad)
    Without that fix you will not be able to take full advantage of ppr on the ipad or iphone.
    I noticed that the host demo of ADF-Mobile use the "ADF-mobile" widgets on the server.
    Do you know of plans to use the ADF-mobile widgets to replace the trinidad widgets used i the "ADF-mobile-browser"

  • [ADF 10.1.3.4] display additional fields according to CheckBox value

    Hi all!
    I have the following requirement to address via ADF:
    When the user select one checkbox within a form some further fields should be displayed on the page, without perform any "validation" action on the previous fields.
    In ADF partial submit is available only on commandlink and commandbutton.
    How can I refresh a portion of page (panelgroup) according to checkbox value?
    What are the possible solutions that we have for this?
    Have you got some code-snippet to show me a workaround?
    Thanks in advance
    Edited by: Federico Leopizzi on 23-feb-2010 16.36

    Hi Federico,
    set autoSubmit="true" on your af:selectBooleanCheckbox and the partialTriggers on a component surrounding your additional fields.
    See " Only Rendered ADF Faces Components Can React To PPR"

  • Partial Trigger is not working with Panel Group Layout using ADF 11g.

    Friends,
    I have a requirment , Based on the <af:selectBooleanCheckbox> value I have to render <af:panelGroupLayout> dynamically. If the check box is checked then I have to display panel group layout otherwise not. The problem what I am facing here is Partial Trigger is not working, If I Un check the boolean box and refresh the page then I see it is working. If I don't refresh the page I am not seeing this is working as expected.
    Below is the snippet
    <af:selectBooleanCheckbox value="#{bindings.ChkBoolean.inputValue}"
    shortDesc="#{bindings.OtherOptChk.hints.tooltip}"
    id="OtherOpt" immediate="true" autoSubmit="true"
    />
    <af:panelGroupLayout id="pgl11" partialTriggers="ChkBoolean"
    rendered="#{bindings.ChkBoolean.inputValue}"">
    Am I doing anything wrong here
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    I started to document common pitfalls like this. The problem has been reported last month too and is documented in here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/oct2010-otn-harvest-183714.pdf

  • ADF Faces : partial page rendering in f:subview

    hi
    Please consider this blog post, "ADF Faces: How-to issue a PPR event from a f:subview and how-to PPR of subviews" :
    http://thepeninsulasedge.com/frank_nimphius/2008/02/14/adf-faces-how-to-issue-a-ppr-event-from-a-fsubview-and-how-to-ppr-of-subviews/
    In this post, Frank Nimphius writes : "... PPR from a containing page to the subview - unfortunately - only works for the whole subview, which means that the included page is getting refreshed. Because the f:subview component does not support PR, you need to work with a wrapping ADF Faces container, like af:panelGroup ...".
    But, it looks like such partial page rendering in a subview can be done without a specific "wrapping ADF Faces container" like this ...
            <h:form id="firstPPRPageFormID">
              <af:panelPage title="firstPPRPage">
                <af:panelHeader text="components on firstPPRPage">

                      <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"
                                     partialTriggers="firstSubviewID:firstSubviewCButton"/>
                    </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
                    <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString">
                      <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"/>
                    </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
                    <f:facet name="footer">
                      <af:commandButton text="firstPPRPage button"
                                        id="firstPPRPageCButton"
                                        partialSubmit="true"/>
                    </f:facet>

                </af:panelHeader>
                <f:subview id="firstSubviewID">
                  <jsp:include page="/firstSubview.jspx" flush="true"/>
                </f:subview>
              </af:panelPage>
            </h:form>... and where firstSubview.jspx contains something like this ...
      <af:panelHeader text="components on firstSubview">
        <af:panelForm>
          <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString, with partial trigger">
            <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"
                           partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton"/>
          </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
          <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString">
            <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"/>
          </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
          <f:facet name="footer">
            <af:commandButton text="firstSubview button" id="firstSubviewCButton"
                              partialSubmit="true"/>
          </f:facet>
        </af:panelForm>
      </af:panelHeader>Note the value ":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton" for the partialTriggers attribute.
    see http://verveja.footsteps.be/~verveja/files/oracle/PartialPageRenderingInSubview-v0.01.zip (check README.txt)
    questions:
    (1) Why exactly does this approach seem to work?
    (2) Because of question (1), what could be potential issues with this approach?
    regards
    Jan Vervecken

    Jan,
    good job ! I actually never thought of reversing what I said about PPR'ing a component from a subview.
    Actually
    partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton"/>
    works because the leading ":" makes ADF Faces to start the component search from the root container. Note that if you use af:form instead of h:form, the trigger is
    partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageCButton"/>
    I'll update my blog

  • ADF BC: createInsert and partial trigger

    I notice when i add a createInsert operation to my page and then the corresponding table, JDev will add a partialTrigger to the button.
    I don't see why.
    When i press the createInsert, the table should have the partialTrigger, not the createInsert button because the table should be refreshed in order to show the new row. But when i add the partialTrigger to the table, than it like an infinite loop. Table refreshes button, button refreshed table,...
    It's resolved by removing the partialTrigger from the button but i am wondering why jdev does it?
    I think it has something to do with the disabled state of the button but that does not make sense. THe same for the commit button. If you want everything to work with partialTriggers, then you have lots of buttons/tables linking to each other causing loops or does ADF notices that and takes care of it?

    Hi,
    I reproduce your case and I do not see any loop,
    about your question that why the createInsert need the partialtrigger :
    1-first of all it is because of the the disabled attribute which depends on the table
    2- Second, the table row selection is automatically partial, I mean when you click on the row partially the selected row is determind as it is done partially there is not any way
    for depended components on the table to notify about the state of the tree(changes of row or anything) so the depended component such as CreateInsert need to set the partial trigger.
    3-why the table does not need the partialtrigger at the time of drag and drop, the answer is easy because the default button that you drop on the page is not partialSubmit, so why any other depended component like Table, must have the partialtrigger?? it is only needed when the button is partialSubmit,
    I hope my answer is clear enough.
    to conclude, there is not any mistake or bug from Oracle for sure.

    I have some question about PPR .
    In our case
    Our forms main commit button is full_submit = true
    We added create insert button of detail view to the partial trigger of table.
    1. do we need to add froms main commit button to the detail table's partial trigers.
    2. is there any circular dpendecy between PPR . if we add a partial target to the table do we need to add this trigger to the columns.
    in our case the question is
    do we need to add create insert button of detail view to the partial triiger of cascade list items' partail triggers.
    Thanks.

  • How to Enable the LOV to query for partial user entries in af:query in an ADF search form

    Hi guys,
    I have faced one issue in creating a search form in ADF, in that I have used af:query and table region. and I have attached an lov vo to the base vo for the list of values and given UI hint as Input values with List of values. Now the issue is that I have given auto submit property as true so when I give some value suppose "Jan-14" and tab out it gives me all the correct results. but if I give like "Jan%" and then tab out then it does not give me any value. Could you kindly help me with some solution. I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6.0.
    Thanks,
    Tanmoy

    To enable the LOV to query for partial user entries, we can trap the 'LaunchPopupListener' event and add custom code there. Within the af:query component, just wondering how can we set property the 'LaunchPopupListener' for the search criteria ?

    Hi
    I am facing a mysterious problem with partial page rendering in ADF UIX.
    My page contains a <header> H1 and inside this there are two headers(H2 and H3).
    The partial page rendering is in the header H2 and is working fine.
    When i remove the below header H3 the partial page rendering ceases to work and get stuck.
    Pasting the full code below. Please suggest.

    Please suggest if you know of any documentation on ADF UIX partial page rendering.
    ADF UIX has very little documentation online and finding it hard to debug this issue.
    It ll be of great help.
    Thanks
    Kamal

    Hi Jason,
    As of EA9, all rendered components support a partialTriggers attribute. This attribute takes a list of master component IDs. If any of the master components are updated via a partial event, the dependent component will be rerendered in the partial update.
    If you are on an earlier release, you should upgrade.
    Thanks,
    Jeanne

  • ADF After Partial Update Event

    Hi im developing an ADF application. My Jdev version is 11.1.2.3.0. I'm using Partial Update with ADF Panel Form element. I need a javascript event/listener when Panel Forms' all content refreshed with PPR. How can handle this?

    No, i only need and JavaScript event. For example when an Partial Update is completed in any/some component, a javascript function must call.
    Pseude Code
    + A button triggers a Partial Update
    + ADF updates chunk of component besides screen
    + After this update completed, call a Javascript function (For example: console.log("Partial update successfully completed.");)

  • ADF button submits the whole page even on partial submit=true

    my jdev version 11.1.1.5.0
    I hav a jspx page with two input boxes and three select one choice and a clear button
    on clicking the clear button it subimts the whole page and fetches value for select one choice mapped to manage bean everytime even on putting partial subimt=true

    Two years ago I was confused by the same behavior, so I researched the problem to come eventually to the conclusion that everything had been fine and in accordance to the documentation.
    In brief, it is correct behavior a button to submit the whole page even if the button is configured as partialSubmit="true". Please, refer to these articles in the documentation for clarification:
    Using the JSF Lifecycle with ADF Faces - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.7.0) ("4.3 Using the Opimized Lifecycle")
    Handling Events - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.7.0) (See topic "5.1.1 Events and PPR" only)
    It is seen from the second article that command components (e.g. a command button, event type "action") are not event roots, which means that the whole enclosing page "boundary" is submitted. If the button is a part of a subform (<af:subform>), a region, a popup or a PanelCollection, then the boundary is the corresponding subform, region, popup or PanelCollection, so only this part of the page is submitted and processed by the optimized lifecycle. However, if the button is not part of such component, then the whole page is submitted and processed by the lifecycle (even if the button is configured as partialSubmit="true"), but only the partial targets of the button will be refreshed on the screen (if the button is configured as partialSubmit="true").
    If you want your button to submit only a part of the page, then the easiest correct way to do that is to surround that part with <af:subform>.
    Dimitar
    P.S. Input and selection components have different PPR behavior from command components. It is seen from the second article above that all the input and selection components are event roots (in contrast to command components!) (see event type "valueChange"), so if some input or selection component is configured as autoSubmit="true", it will not submit the whole page but only itself and the components configured as partial targets of it.
