ADF popup is not showing - Intermittent issue

Guys,
          Once in a while popups inside the adf application are not showing up. have anybody faced this issue?
Though its rare, i would like to know the reasons behind this intermittent issue.
Any pointers/thoughts will be appreciated... Thanks

Popup if very problematic item in ADF.
There are 2 ways to invoke the popup correctly
1. Make sure that you don't have a combination of viewScope and backingbean scope in everything related to your popup
2. Or (and this is the best one) - don't use popup. Create a bounded task flow and call it from your task flow. You have an option to call it as inline popup.

  • ADF Popup Dialog Not Showing Working

    I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3 and ADF. I have been unable to get a dialog popup working. When I click on a commandLink in the Originating page, it only refreshes the Originating page and does not open the destination page at all. It's happening in both FF and IE.
    Within the faces-config.xml I created a navigational rule with outcome that begins with dialog.
    Extracted sample from faces-config.xml:
    *<navigation-rule>*
    *<from-view-id>/Originate.jspx</from-view-id>*
    *<navigation-case>*
    *<from-outcome>dialog:dest</from-outcome>*
    *<to-view-id>/Destination.jspx</to-view-id>*
    *</navigation-case>*
    *</navigation-rule>*
    The commandLink action attribute begins with dialog: and useWindow attribute is true.
    Extracted sample from JSP document:
    *<af:commandLink text="Go to Destination" action="'dialog:dest'"*
    useWindow="true" windowHeight="250" windowWidth="300"
    partialSubmit="true" id="originate"/>
    Is there something I'm doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    It seems like the dialog:popUp does not work if it is not nested within
    &lt;afh:html&gt;
    &lt;afh:body&gt;
    &lt;af:form&gt;
    &lt;af:commandLink action="dialog:popUp"/&gt;
    &lt;/af:form&gt;
    &lt;/afh:body&gt;
    &lt;/afh:html&gt;
    I currently have it this way
    &lt;html&gt;
    &lt;body&gt;
    &lt;h:form&gt;
    &lt;af:commandLink action="dialog:popUp"/&gt;
    &lt;/h:form&gt;
    &lt;/body&gt;
    &lt;/html&gt;
    P.S.
    The former way works but it messes up page layout. It seems not to notice DIVs and image positioning.
    Any clues as to why?

  • Cancel button on ADF popup does not work with AutoSubmit Fields

    Hello,
    I currently have a very simple form inside of and ADF popup. I the form contains one SelectManyListbox. Here's my issue.
    Lets say my form contains option A, B, and C.
    Okay I open the popup for the first time, and a select, A and B, and I click cancel. When I open the form again, I would expect no options to be selected. HOwever, that is not the case, the last options I selected, prior to hitting Cancel are still selected.
    I was able to fix this issue by setting contentDelivery to "lazyUncached".. However, as soon as I set autoSubmit to "true", the behavior goes back to keeping the selections I made, even if I hit cancel.
    Question :
    How can tell the popup to deselect the items that were selected in the SelectManyListbox during the canceled operation of the popup, when autoSubmit is enabled? IN other words, if A and B were selected, and I hit cancel, when I open the popup again, I should see zero items selected in the list.

  • ADF region does not show

    Hi,
    I have a jsff page that I want to add a region (via bounded task flow & corresponding jsff file).
    When I add an existing task flow (that appears as region in another page) everything works fine.
    However, when I add a newly created task flow, if does not show anything when the app runs. However, it shows fine in the JDev preview.
    After having done this many times, I believe that the newly created task flow is fine (analogous to the existing one that works).
    Any idea what can be wrong?
    I am using JDeveloper 11,1,1,6.0

    Yes I do have a default activity.
    The issue tuned out to be about permissions and authentication. We just added ADF authentication; thus you have to added permissions to view these newly created resources (taskflows).
    Given that this was the first tasfklow that was added after adding ADF authentication, we overlooked this.

  • P6 EPPM V8.2.2.8 window popup windows not showing.

    I've installed Primavera V8.2.2.8 EPPM on 64bit Windows 2008 R2 sp1 server with weblogic 10.3.5 using a 64 bit JDK (1.6.0_27). The database is 11g on another rhel5 server and has sample data loaded. Initially the install worked great for a bit. I was able to move around to different windows all worked fine. But soon after anything with a popup window (projects, users access, ) will not load and either shows an error like "Fail to load data..Please..." or just shows loading data then stops. In the application settings window changes to the screen does not allow the save button to appear (another pop is displayed before that happens). There are no errors in any logs, no connection errors, no information what so ever. I am using IE 9 and the block pop windows is unchecked.
    The same thing happen on a rhel5 install with weblogic 10.3.6. Oddly, there is another install where I work that functions just fine (via my desktop's browsers) but is on some very old equipment like windows 2003 and oracle 10g.
    Obviously, this is about Primavera P6 EPPM v8.2.2.8 web application; the professional desktop client works fine with the same database.
    Also, I did the same install on a rhel5 box with weblogic 10.3.6 and a 1.6_45 jdk. The same "problem" develops.
    Upgrading to V8.3 is not an option. I may be able to move to JDK 1.7, but i sure would like to get JDK 1.6 to work.
    Thanks your help and let me know if there is any other info that could help.

    JRE1.6_027...
    I am pretty sure it is not a browser issue since I can get see all web functionality with the same IE browser connecting to an existing install that is running on rhel5.1/weblogic 10.3.5/jdk1.6._27.
    I have some more info:
         * no ssl
         * pc with browser in windows 7
         * the windows server is on virutal boxes (wmware)
         * the databases are on virtual boxes (vmware, rhel6)
         * also, the following url never comes back: http://someserver.somedomain:7003/p6/action/pm/openprojectpicklist
    Can someone tell me what SQL is used to run struts action/pm/openprojectpicklist? I am starting to think this is some bizarre database issue or state. Today, I built a new 11g database on a windows server box (virtual) and installed a Primavera eppm p6 8.2.2.8 database in it with no sample data. It worked nicely (today, that is). Like I said it seems to work at first then after a while...breaks.

  • The attachment popup is not showing for webmail like Yahoo or Google after Firefox update to version 30

    I am running Firefox on Windows XP. After Firefox was updated to version 30.0, the attachment popup in Gmail and Yahoo mail are not showing up. Clicking on the attach icon does not show any response. Its working fine perfectly in Chrome. I removed extensions and tried again, but the issue persists.

    Start Firefox in [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Safe Mode to Troubleshoot the issue] and to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

    AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(getRegion());
    Only loads when I collapse a panel - which suggests they are there, loaded. Just not showing.

    Hi,
    if you want to refresh a region then either you call the refresh method exposed on the region or configure the Task Flow binding refresh condition to #{1==} (for always to refresh) in addition to the PPR refresh.
    The first of your method really has nothing to do with region refresh and is for a different usecase

  • Cross system object locking -Object editor popup does not show in dev sys

    Hi ,
    we want to use the cross system locking for r/3 system .
    we have done all the configuration required for cross system object locking in central solution manager system and also in development r/3 system .
    also we observed that object lock information is avaible in central lock monitor transcation but when ever there is object lcok it does not show us the the popup for object editing.
    appreciate your valuable inputs.
    Regards,
    Amar Kamat

    We found the problem.
    The structure was being locked by a user in the QA system and overnight the M version finally activated after another transport attempt.
    The second structure with this problem was only referenced as a local object (even though it had a proper tech name and package assignment) preventing its activation in the QA system.  We needed to hack the query tables to make it look like a proper global structure, then re-transported and it activated.

  • [ADF] - JDev does not show 'Tree Binding Editor' when dropping a ADF Tree..

    Hi All,
    I am trying to work trough the ADF Faces/Toplink 10.1.3 tutorial: 'Build an End-to-End J2EE Application with Toplink and ADF Faces'. When I get to the point that I have to place an 'ADF Tree' object on my panel JDeveloper is supposed to come up with the Tree Binding editor, but does not.
    I reinstalled JDeveloper, killed all unnecessary Windows XP (SP2) processes (firewall and fun services) and retried. The same problem happens. I tried to create a table and this works fine. Then I installed the same zip file on Linux and the Editor shows up. Finally I installed the same zip file with a colleague - no problems.
    Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?
    Thanks in advance, Laszlo
    PS The exception JDev throws is:

  • Multi-issue app with subscription not show any issue of the magazine

    Hi all,
    I recently migrated my magazine from multi-issue app to multi-issue with itunes subscription app. I want to publish my magazine into the newsstand with free subscription.
    If I install on my ipad the .ipa I see all the issue published in the last year and a half. I can subscribe the free subscription and all working properly.
    When Apple store approve the app they told me that no magazine appears in my app (and the screenshoot they attached me confirm this).
    I can't understand what could have happened.
    On the development ipad was previously installed the normal version of the app (with no subscription). Is this a problem?

    I agree with poorxperiaplay here.  The problem is directly related to all Google services not just Gtalk, thats why Gmail doesn't sync right, nor does the calendar, nor does it work right when you pick out an app on the Google Play web site on your PC and try to install from there.  It never live syncs with the server.
    You can't just take out features like that because you broke them and then say sorry.  People rely on the Google services, its why we bought an Android Phone!  Not only that, ALL other versions of the Xperia Play, R800i, R800a, R800at, all run 2.3.4 official from Sony successfully.  Verizon modifies it for roll out to their phones, to add their software, which means your product team broke it, and they aren't spending the time to fix it.
    And yes the facebook application does not sync properly or even work properly on 3G either.  The sync issue has been a problem from day 1.  The web site on the phone works fine.
    These are major issues that are fundamental to all R800x phones.  This needs to be fixed, immediately.

  • ADF Input Text not showing

    Hi All,
    Can anyone help me out. I am using Jdev 10.1.3.3 and when I dragged the componet from Data Control as Input ADF W/ label and run the page the input text doesn't appear only the lable.
    Thanks in advance

    Maybe the component is set to read only in your page? If not , make sure the view object on which this component is based is updatable (or at least this particular attribute).
    At least in 11g an input text will be just output text in case the VO is not updateable.

  • ADF Mobile does not show up on the list of extensions in JDev

    I can't find the ADF Mobile template or add it in 12c.
    Am I missing something here?

    Hi,
    ADF Mobile only exists for JDeveloper 11.1.2.4. The 12c version of ADF Mobile will ship with JDeveloper 12.1.3 which has not been released yet

  • Popup in JSFF not showing

    I have some code that I was testing in a separate application until I got it working. Essentially, I have a horizontally scrollable image list. When clicking on the image, a dynamically constructed popup menu shows up and when selecting a menu item, data is inserted based on the menu item clicked on. This worked when I had all my code in a JSPX. The popup was in a form.
    However, in our real application, we use fragments. So I put the popup in the JSFF where the image list is just under the jsp:root. I got this warning that says: "Fragment with more than one root component may not display correctly in a region."
    When I click on my image, the action listener fires and everything seems to be fine except that the popup does not show up. This is the method I call to show the popup:
         * Opens the RichPopup based on the key.
         * @param popupId - component ID of popup
         * @param alignId - component ID of component to align to
        public static void showPopup(String popupId, String alignId) {
            FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            StringBuilder script = new StringBuilder();
            script.append("var popup = AdfPage.PAGE.findComponent('").append(popupId).append("'); ").append("if (!popup.isPopupVisible()) { ")
                .append("var hints = {}; ").append("hints[AdfRichPopup.HINT_ALIGN_ID] = '").append(alignId).append("'; ")
                .append("hints[AdfRichPopup.HINT_ALIGN] = AdfRichPopup.ALIGN_AFTER_END; ").append("popup.show(hints);}");
            ExtendedRenderKitService erks = Service.getService(context.getRenderKit(), ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
            erks.addScript(context, script.toString());
        }This worked fine in the JSPX version. So I'm wondering if there's something I need to do to get this to work. I should be able to have an inline popup in a JSFF, right? Is there a specific place where I'm supposed to put it?
    Here's JSFF:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1" xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich"
              xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html">
      <af:panelTabbed id="pt2">
      </af:panelTabbed>
      <af:popup id="vmenu" clientComponent="true">
        <af:menu text="menu 1" id="m2" binding="#{pageFlowScope.mainPageFlowBean.serviceMenu}"></af:menu>
      </af:popup>
    </jsp:root>I can put more detailed code if need be.
    Thanks.

    Eric,
    the problem seems to be that you don't find the popup using AdfPage.PAGE.findComponent(...) with your ID. Have you checked that you indeed get the popup using this function?
    Read [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31973/af_arch.htm#insertedID5|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31973/af_arch.htm#insertedID5] this, if you find out that you don't get the popup.

  • Jdev 10.1.3.3 + ADF popup window

    Hello,
    We are using the adf popup window to show some of the application data. But when session times out we are facing the issue in redirecting the page. Currently when session times out popup window is getting redirected to login page,but parent window is not closing.We want to close the popup window,parent window and redirect to login page.Any idea or thoughts around how to handle session time out in case of popup windows??
    Thanks

    Hi,
    its a while ago that I looked into this and the only thing that worked for me is to use a JavaScript timer you set to fire before the session expires to close the window.
